Carmen frowned, getting him laid more on his front so she could try and soothe the burning he would be feeling now, not having the heart to tell him that he’d still only gone through the easy part so far.

His mother shook her head and frowned deeply "No, no baby don't talk like that okay? You're going to come out of this." She said quietly while squeezing his hand.

George shook his head some "The orders have already been given Joseph....goodbye old friend." He said quietly as they escorted him out of the room to be sent down.

Noah panted and shook his head more "I can't....why are they doing this to me?" He whispered looking at her with pure fear in his eyes

He frowned more and closed his eyes tight as a spasm of pain went across his chest, resting back once it faded, hearing max coming back in with a nurse and reaching for her, groaning now as it was getting worse and all he could manage was to look at her scared.

She frowned and shook her head. “I don’t know sweetie, but I’m gonna try and get to that contact soon as I can alright?” She told him, reaching for her phone to check if there was anything yet from max.

Max came in and frowned deeply seeimg how bad he looked "Will? Hey we got the nurse here its going to be okay." She said softly letting a few tears fall as she saw the pain in his face.

Noah nodded some "Okay....my anthos..." he whispered before he passed out on the couch again.

He was trying to grip at her hand a little more but it was too much effort and it wasn’t long before his nurse was paging the doctor and pressing the emergency button. ‘You’re about to be very popular mr. Ramos.’ She coaxed, encouraging him to try and squeeze his girlfriends hand. “I love you.” He told her quietly, his eyes getting a glassy look to them as alarms started going off.

Carmen had been in the middle of sending her a text when she heard him, turning to face him slowly and frowned, reaching out to touch his face gently, just staring at him a little in shock until her friend Catherine came in, another angel from her own deity that had been cast out. Catherine however had been thrown out for overstepping her bounds one too many times and had certainly kept up the trend here in earth. “Catherine it’s him….. I don’t… it’s him.” She told her

Max held his hand and coaxed him as well gulping as they finally asked her to step out when he wasn't showing signs of improvement. She sat in the waiting room with his mother and took a deep breath trying to keep it together.

Catherine came in to check on her but also bring some supplies "Who is who?" She asked looking over at the man on the couch. She had heard the story on Carmen's fall, before she had fallen herself but she had never seen the man Carmen had once loved "Wait....the man you loved? It was him?" She asked seeing the way Carmen now stared at the man with a longing stare.

She nodded slowly and watched him, glancing at his wings while she took the cord from her, reqdy to give him for him to bite down on once the singing got down to his skin and then the bones would finally snap away from the rest of him, still trying to cool him down. “I never thought I’d see him again. Let alone in this capacity.”

They worked on him for almost two hours before they were able to leave him to rest on a ventilator, going out to talk to the family. “You can go back in. He hasn’t woken up again this time and we will take him for a couple of tests first thing in the morning as he’s no longer breathing on his own. He’s fighting real hard though.” He told them both, leaving them to privacy

Catherine frowned deeply watching as his wings started to darken further "He was high up in his world right? Do you know what their laws are to cast out such a high rank?" She asked as she helped tend to him frowning as the wings stopped darkening "They've stopped?"

Max rushed into the room and shook her head some "This should be me......he shouldn't be like this." She whimpered before taking his hand in hers.

She frowned and shook her head. “I don’t under… shit!” She screeched as there was a loud crack and the wings were completely engulfed in flames, hearing his screams and she was being taken back to when they were caught. When he was forced to watch her get stripped of it all and cast out. They were only alight for less than thirty seconds but once it was done his back was burnt badly and there were four large gashes where his wings had been, “go get me cling film. Lots of it. Now.” She told her quickly. “Noah, look at me. Try to focus on my voice darling.” She coaxed gently.

His mother sat on the other side, staring at her son for a little while and finally got up to go call his sisters to let them know what was going on, leaving max to some privacy for a minute

Noah screamed in pain as Catherine left quickly to get all the supplies that were needed. He was struggling to stay still as the pain started to engulf his entire body. All the while memories started to flood his mind of what had happened previously to him. He tried to focus on Carmen as his eyes opened but his vision was so blurry that she was just a blob infront of him.

Max held his hand tightly to her and took some deep breaths "Please come back to me Will. I can't do this without you.." she whispered quietly to him

She frowned, feeling his forehead that he was still burning up, laying the damp cloth across it again. “Just rest. Don’t move. I got you okay?” She coaxed, trying her best to soothe him, taking the cling film when Catherine returned and covered the burns all over his back.

This time there was no response, only the sounds of the ICU around them for the rest of the night.

Catherine frowned deeply as she stood by her side "I've never seen one this bad before." She said worriedly as she watched Carmen dress the wounds. She was one of the longest ones there with her, having helped many of the fallen get better after the loss of their wings.

Callum knocked loudly at the door and walked in frowning deeply when he saw the state of Noah "I'm sorry to interupt Carmen, but you're going to want to see this." He said seriously while a few of the others were busy getting Joe onto a couch downstairs.

She shook her head in disbelief, “Keep him awake. Don’t let him go to sleep right now. Not til we’re done dressing the wounds I’ll be back.” She promised, following Callum downstairs and stared in shock at Joseph on the couch “Two authorities? In two days? I don’t like this.” She told him. “Get him a room. I don’t care what he’s done before, get him a room.” She told him, going back to Noah.

Joe had been mumbling incoherently since they found him, going in and out of consciousness the whole time. “Where is she? I need to… I need to warn her.” He slurred, feeling them moving him again.

Noah was slowly coming to a bit more when she was back "Carmen?" He questioned quietly seeing her a bit clearer now reaching for her hand a bit trying to not think about the pain.

Callum frowned as he helped Joe get to a room "You're not going anywhere, you have to stay here." He muttered sighing as he continued going on "Who is it? Maybe I can send something."

She frowned and let him take it, not sure how to even begin approaching things with him. “Just rest Noah. You need to lay still and rest.” She coaxed.

He frowned and shook his head. “She’s gonna… he’s gonna die.” He told him before passing out cold.

Noah took a deep breath and stayed as still a possible but made sure her hand stayed in his finding comfort in it.

Callum shook his head some and got him layed out in a room taking note that they were running low on space in the club.

She frowned and gently smoothed his hair back, keeping a close eye on him and trying to keep him cool. It was always a shock to the system for any of them. They didn’t have to deal with this stuff back home but here on earth and especially after falling, the transition to almost human had cost more than a few their lives over the years.

Nick called max one more time and frowned as she finally answered. “Hey, glad to know you’re alive… boss lady wants to know what’s going on? You never showed up to work tonight.” He told her, hoping that she wasn’t on another bender after working so hard to get sober.

Max frowned deeply when she finally looked at her phone and saw all her missed calls. She was about to call back when Nick's name flashed across her screen. She answered and sighed heavily "Hey, tell her I'm sorry. Will, my boyfriend, he uh..he had a heart attack. I've been at the hospital all day." She explained quietly to him.

Noah was awake again hours later and groaned shivering as he was now burning up "Carmen?" He whispered frowning when he didn't see her in the room but another woman instead

Catherine frowned and kept trying to cool him down. “She’s gone to check on something but she’ll be back.” She told him, “how you feeling?”

“Shit. You need anything?” He asked her, frowning. “We’re a little busy here but we can probably spare someone to come and help if you need.”

Noah took a deep breath and groaned quietly "I feel cold....its freezing in here." He said quietly as a shiver ran through his body again.

Max shook her head some "No no, I'm okay. I've got his mom here to help. Tell Carmen I might not be in for a couple days though. I'm sorry." She said quietly

He nodded. “Take whatever time you need and keep us updated when you can. Let us know if you need anything too.” He told her.

She frowned. “You’re burning up pretty bad.” She told him gently. “Let me call her to come back.” She told him frowning at how out of it he still seemed, texting her to get back asap

Max thanked him before she hung up and went back to Will and his mother. She took a deep breath as she watched him and looked over at his mom "What....if he doesn't get better....what do you want to do?" She asked quietly. There was no way that she would make that kind of decision without her.

Noah took shaky breaths and nodded "Okay....This uh....this normal?" He asked her

She frowned and shook her head as she looked at him “I’ve helped her with hundreds of these…. I’ve never seen it that bad… you really don’t know what you did?” She asked him curiously, glancing at her phone. “She’s on her way.”

She frowned and shook her head, “whatever they think is best…” she trailed off a little as his doctor came in to let them know they were taking him to run a few tests but it wouldn’t take longer than an hour.

Noah shook his head some "No...everytime I try to remember...its fuzzy and I can't make anything out." He explained quietly giving a heavy sigh and closing his eyes again.

Max gave a small nod to her before thanking his doctor and letting them take him.

It was two hours before they were bringing him back and a nurse explained his doctor would be in shortly to discuss with them, taking another half hour before he stepped in. “So sorry to keep you waiting…. It’s uh… it’s not good news I’m afraid.” He explained slowly. “Mr. Ramos has no brain activity. He is legally brain dead.” He told them frowning. “There isn’t anything else they can do for him.”

She frowned and shook her head “Hey; no stay awak alright? At least til Carmen gets back in here.” She muttered, getting a little worried until she finally stepped in again.

“How’s he doing?” She asked, going to check on him and change the dressings on his back carefully.
