Can an Abyssal turn Akuma?

What would happen if an Abyssal went to the Malfeans?

Bonuses?

Drawbacks?

Their soul is already screwed, being an Abyssal, so that doesn't matter.

Would their shard turn full solar again after their demise(with the Throwback Flaw, of course)?

Turning from a lesser evil to a greater one?  Interesitng.  I'll have to think on this one.

IIRC, the books say it's possible, but the Yozi don't want to risk pissing off the Malfeans by doing it.

From what I know, any Exalt can become an Akuma, but as Still said above, the Yozi's probably don't want to piss of the Malfeans, so I'm sure they'll leave them alone.

Although, you never know. Ligier is a crazy bastard.

The Yozis aren't aware of the goals of the Malfeans, if the abyssal made them aware the fragile peace between them will probably shatter and they'll start collecting abyssals too.

I'd say that because becoming an Akuma does not change the shard the shard would remain an abyssal one as it's cage remains.

Actually, I'd say it's ease itself for a Yozi to free a shard from a monstrance. They're Yozis, not some ghost on death-steroids.

That's an interesting possibility, actually; an Abyssal seeking freedom from the Deathlords by going to the Yozis, rather than the Unconquered Sun. Although, of course, even Abyssals have more freedom than Akuma, really.

It doesn't chage the shard permanenetly or fundamentally, but it does taint the shard for up to 3(?) reincarnations.

speaking of akuma I know this is a bit off topic but...

it also said that "As for the akuma, the yozi's do not share the secrets of making slaves with their slaves"

well what I thought of was...

What IF (I know this is improbable) the Ebon dragon shows the scarlet empress how to perform"Investiure of infernal glory"

oh and give her a single perfect circle worth of  solar essences.

And with luck, she would have some hooks into their souls to keep them under her control.

While it's possible for a Yozi to corrupt an Abyssal Essence, Deathlords would probably kill any Abyssal who does so, which their control over them allows them to do.

There could be an interesting bit of plot, with a Yozi twisting up and tainting an Abyssal's Shard, which is tied to a particular Monstrance.  The Abyssal is killed, by agents of the Yozi, perhaps others are manipulated to doing it for the Yozi, which would be a perfect cover.

The Shard returns to its Monstance, and then virus-like, the Taint from the Yozi corrupts the Monstrance, so that each time the Shard returns, it retains the Yozi's control, subtle, allowing the Deathlords to appear in control, but they get automatically Akuma-tized by the virus-like effect.

Over and over again.

And worse, the Abyssal Akuma would be a sort of demonic Manchurian Candidate, leading others to their secret masters, quietly leading others to be tainted, and spreading their agents amonst the Neverborns' champions.

After all, the Yozi know that their dead brethren want to destroy the whole ball of wax, but the Yozi want it back. And if the Neverborn wreck it, they'll never get their revenge.

well if whole bvall of wax goes away the well of oblivion closes (as the neverborn will finally go through... leaving Autochthon, Malfeas, and the wyld

Interesting question. Do the Neverborn need to kill everything to get their peaceful oblivion, or do they just need to kill Gaia/Creation and everyone within?

Creation (or at least the Elemental Poles) is allegedly infinite as well, no?

actually creation is listed as finite, the poles are a certain distance from the pole of earth and beyond them is pure chaos... worse than deep Wyld

The core book (at least the 1E one) states that the poles extend infinitely outward.

And the Deep Wyld IS pure chaos. There's no higer degree.

admittedly the biggest downside to the let creation get sucked down the tube then build a new one theory is that WE are on it when it happens
