  • Welcome to the Character thread for Camp Winifred! I like fancy BBCode, so shit is going to get a little cray. Fear not - simply ask, and I will set up your BBCode for you.

    2. All powers are possible because of genetics. Events can trigger powers, but they are never the sole cause of powers.

    4. Character pictures are not the hill to die on. I prefer to see comic book and manga style pictures, but as long as there is a written description of your character, you have my blessing to put, idk, a picture of a tree frog or something. I'm not getting paid to care about this.

For weaknesses, he might have limited flexibility due to thickened skin, have to go to a special hospital if he ever needs surgery, and maybe he's prone to skin rashes or something.

Imaginative: With her childlike wonder and naive creativity, this girl is constantly trying to explain things in the most absurd and thrilling way possible. Aliens? Check! Monsters? Check! A rampaging unicorn?! DOUBLE CHECK! Despite that fantasy-seeking side of her, Bee's unhinged creativity often ends up being the answer one needed. Always thinking out-of-the-box and refusing to the bond by society's boundaries, Bijou will speak her wacky, crazy mind constantly, and it just might happen that an actual good idea occurs to her, without her full knowledge.

Affable: Bijou is normally quite friendly and extremely chatty. Though reserved at the beginning, once you get her going over just about anything, one can see her blue eyes shine with enthusiasm. She may not be the most behaved and kind child around, but at least Bee poses herself in a very approachable instance and it's not afraid to get mushy and huggy towards others. Share all the love!

Closed-minded: Stubborn doesn't even begin to describe it. Bijou is so stuck in her own ways that the smallest change or complaint is able to get on her nerves. Changing her plans just slightly is a big no, acting differently just to suit someone else is no good. Trying to change this little girl's head it's as hard as talking to a wall- no wait, the wall doesn't throw a tantrum so maybe that's better. Just be warned of pouting and the occasional leg kicking.

Petulant: If the previous item hadn't been hint enough, then this next one will seal the deal. Bijou is still a kid and like most kids, she has a little problem with authority and rules that may seem arbitrary or just outright unfair. She'll complain, pout, pretend she's not listening, do the exact things she was told not to do... The list is endless, all to get the feeling that she's still winning, at least in her own little childish world.


Appearance
A cream soda blonde Russian girl with rare Hyacinth-colored eyes. 5' in height, 95.2 lbs in weight, a Petite, lithe and agile figure. As for clothing style, Bijou has a fondness for berets, long socks and it's used to multi-layered, winter-directed clothing more than warmer weather attire and materials.

Biography
Pazice, a Pedagogy student, and Illarion, at the time almost a formed Physician, met by chance during a medical lecture in Moscow. They stumbled into each other leaving the auditorium, went each their respective ways before meeting by chance in Saint Petersburg. In between admiring the architecture and paintings, the two learned more about each other, their dreams, their passions, the pair had eventually begun nurturing feelings for each other and despite the disparity in ages, get their families to tolerate the union. As Illarion did well as a surgeon, Pazice tried her luck as a kindergarten teacher for a few years only for throat cancer to put a stop to the idea.

Enter Bijou, born in the aftermath of everything. The presence of their daughter was an interesting and positive change in the couple's life. Illarion would eventually stand up for himself against his money-leeching family to begin saving more, and Pazice, now housebound, would find the joys of being a mother and take it on herself to homeschool Bee. When the girl was 12, they decided to go on a nice family-trip together to Disneyworld, in America and it was delightful for almost the entirety of the vacation.

But then Bijou got lost.
One moment of distraction and her parents were nowhere to be seen. Looking for assistance, the girl almost in tears had come inside a convenience store, where the cashier had tried their best to appease and help her, despite the language barrier. And yet, fate didn't make it so easy, as a shady-looking teenager had entered it with a gun. The store was about to the robbed.

Bijou can still tell this story in vivid detail. Her power had kicked in for the first time as she burst on a loud cry, the thief tried to get her to stop by threatening her with the weapon and in a gut-reaction amidst a slowed-down perception of time, Bee had been able to slap it away, fast, like something only a trained professional could do. Having a 12-year old girl react so unexpectedly, the teenager was spooked, deciding to book it through the door in a panic instead of going on with the task. It was during an impossibly detailed and accurate statement of the girl that the possibility for a power would come to light. Bingo.

And thus we're here, a first-trip Russian couple and their small child with limited English, remaining in America for the time being as of an agreement with the embassy and the local government. They thought Camp Winifred would be a good idea, they thought that they could actually remain with Bijou in it. Well, they thought wrong, but that's not going to stop Pazice from still making periodic calls to the location for reports on her. Bee, on the other hand, is very thrilled about the idea of natural adventure and no adults to tell her what to do all the time.


--Superpower--
Self-Time Perception Manipulation:
A sub-power of Perception Manipulation that only affects the user, Bijou's power can make her brain and by consequence, her eyes to feel/observe the passage of time at a slower or higher pace than everyone else. This phenomenon concedes her brain the impression of having more or less time to interpret and record things, as if the flow time had actually been altered when it's, in fact, something more akin to an illusion, solely making her believe that she has more time. By perceiving her environment in slow-motion, Bee is able to observe and focus better on the nearby events and react to things that she would otherwise not be able to in their normal speeds. For example, if something was falling and she still had time to catch it, her lack of reflexes would leave her hanging, but by seeing it happen slower, the chance that she'll be able to react in time to catch it is much higher.

On the other hand, by speeding her perception of time up, Bijou is capable of skipping through events so fast that her brain doesn't have enough time to memorize them. It's useful if she's in a really boring, unimportant situation and just wants it to be over with quickly.
  • Hyper Focus: While on a slowed down state, Bijou's brain is able to rapidly take in all of the elements in her point of view, their positions, their shapes, labels, the people involved, everything and keep that information as if the space had been constantly photographed, frame by frame.
  • Rapid Recollection: As a follow up to the storage of such a big amount of information, Bijou is also able to remember said details with astounding detail and precision. She can recall the colors, placements, materials, facial features of individuals and even give out an exact statement of what may have happened while her perception of time was slower.
Limitations:
Bijou can't move out of the ground or change position while her power is active, at least not on her own; Coming in contact with a moving object will immediately cause her perception of time to rebound back to what it was, her altered perception of it will always lose when against the actual world's time flow; Having more time to react means near-nothing without the reflexes to act on in; It will affect her speech, slowing it down on a sped-up perception and vice-versa, her brain cannot make up for this on default, requires extra active action to correct.
As of now, this power is entirely passive. Time slows down on situations of high stress and speeds-up on dullness and boredom, even when she doesn't want it to; Bijou's power is a menace to herself in the idea that, if it were to happen in a desolate location and she didn't have people, objects to snap her out of it, she'd be stuck in the altered perception for as long as it takes for her to calm down and find emotional stability again.

Appearance
Cassandra wears baggy clothing, jeans that are one size too big and held up by a belt at the waist and a band t-shirt pulled out of her bag at random. How does she have so many. She has a long scar along her right hand from accidentally putting her hand through a glass table. Her hair is short, and almost looks like she chopped it off herself and nobody had the heart to tell her that it's a mess.

Biography
Cassandra grew up in a difficult, loud household. The middle child in a family of four siblings, has gotten both the experience of bratty younger siblings and overbearing older siblings. Her eldest brother has super speed, and would often use this power to steal her stuff and then speed away laughing. She got used to talking over other people, and now does it often, even to her friends. Her parents often ignored her and her siblings, causing Cassandra to become very self-sufficient. When her oldest brother and his twin moved out to go to college, it fell to her to pick up the slack.

Cassandra has always loved music. She took guitar lessons as a kid after begging her parents and doing well in school, and has never stopped playing the guitar and enjoying every second of it. Her parents were not pleased by having to pay for lessons, and then for a new guitar when her younger sister broke the first one, but they promised they would see it through as long as she saw it through, and despite their neglect, they do love Cassandra and her siblings.

She was teased often in school. She knew it was going to happen almost every single time, but it's just too easy to pick on the too-loud kid that says strange things, goes to the nurse a little too often, and carries around a pack of tarot cards everywhere she goes. The bullying was starting to escalate by the time that she was sent off to Camp.

The night that the cops were called changed everything. Cassandra saw it happening in one of her visions, and yet, like always, was powerless to stop it. Her parents got into a bit of a domestic, and the neighbors were concerned enough to call the cops. It was then that her parents realized that her feelings of deja vu, her visions, would come true every single time. Unable to handle the thought of their daughter potentially knowing the future, they shipped her off to Camp Winifred, much to her chagrin. She doesn't want to be at the camp, she wants to be home, making sure her younger sisters are okay, happy, and healthy.

Superpower
Cassandra has Clairvoyance, the ability to see small snippets and scenes of the future. This is aided by her passive ability Heart of the Cards, which is somewhat misunderstood by even Cassandra herself. She uses tarot cards and Oracle cards to better understand her visions, and has the uncanny ability to always pull the right card. This ability possibly has the ability to slightly shift fate in the right direction. She always draws a card that makes sense, either because her power makes her shuffle the deck in the exact configuration she needs, or because she already knew the answer to the question being asked in some way or another. Unfortunately, Clairvoyance, on top of being extremely disorienting, can lead to migraines, nausea, nosebleeds, and fainting. Sometimes after a vision she has a bit of aphasia, aggravated by the migraine, and can jumble up her words.

Evan is overly affectionate to a fault like seriously, personal space doesn't exist to him at all, regardless of that he's very friendly and will always try to actually help people when there having issues, even if he screws up a little he always means well even if he tends to be far far too in everyone's faces. Due to his reliance on strong emotions he has an almost paradoxical joy for when anyone is in a bad mood since that means he will probably get a meal out of it.. Clothing wise he's a little eccentric.

Evan is a tall attractive looking man with silvery hair a set of horns and large wings, he tends to wear tight clothing that tends to define his aesthetic features along with his wings and horns he has a long slender tail that tends to end up coiling around people he's talking to.

Biography
Evan was a little strange when he was born a child with little horns and wings was a little strange but it never really bothered his parents much, as a child he always ended up being called a pretty boy it was a little embarrassing but he did manage to get a good deal of friends, he never actually ate anything though seemed to prefer to just hang around people how were upset… and somehow helping them? When he got to his teenage years around 13 his other abilities activated and well it made things awkward when suddenly the attractant aura he had turned on in the middle of class. Though eventually he got the hang of his powers. He got a job at the camp after he was fired from his previous job as a counselor at a school due to parents complaining about his choice of clothing. So he now actually has his a consistent food source… hopefully.

Superpower
Incubus: this is just something he refers to it as due to his appearances and how his abilities are fueled.
demonic portals: Evan can open a portal up to 5X5 meters and open it in another location the range of that is up to 200M as long as he can see or knows where he is going to open said portal.

Weaknesses: Evan's weaknesses are a little odd as it comes in another form of ability, Evan abilities are fueled by him feeding off strong emotions of others draining them off, in fact, normal food just doesn't work for him at all eating too much will make him violently ill. and using his powers too long or too often will literally cause him to starve.

Blair has always been the life of a party with an overwhelmingly friendly demeanor. She has a certain optimistic view that somehow manages to come off quite dark, for example she has said on multiple occasions ''Sure you may be a little hurt but you didn't lose a leg did ya, no? So shut up and go see the camp nurse kid and stop crying.'' Her negative aspects would be her brutal honesty that can hurt someone's feelings. ''For someone that controls ice, you really have no chill at all. Like sure, you can create beautiful ice sculptures kid but that pretty little face of yours can only get you so far.'' Another negative trait is that she lacks the ability gauge how serious a situation is and basically lacks any imposing authority until she gets pushed to the edge.

Appearance
Blair stands at 5'7'' with an athletic build from her days spent on the track team. Her hair is a darker shade of purple, golden eyes that are reminiscent of an animal's, and her skin is brown in color. As for the type of clothing, she prefers to wear as little as possible to regulate her body temperature. Graphic T's, tank tops, and the occasional crop top make up her wardrobe along with fun patterned short and a never-ending hoard of multicolored basketball shorts.

Biography
Blair had been deemed a wild child by the community but that sort of wildness was common for the Silva's. Most of them had managed to manifest some sort of animal related power, whether it be as simple as retractable claws to being covered in fur as some sort of animal hybrid. Her dad was the one that married into the clan and took on the Silva name, he had no power whatsoever and found parenthood to be difficult with a literal animal running around with a twin that had inherited the paternal grandfather's ability to phase through objects. The never boring years between childhood and mid teen years were truly an experience. Blair had always had a lot of deep anger issues and would often shift in fights so she was sent to Camp Winifred and managed to calm down. While still working on her vet degree she spends her summer as a counselor as a living testament of how much good can come from camp...and that she kind of owes them for the damage she did while she was there as a camper.

Superpower
The government has given her ability the title of 'Beast Mimicry' when in reality she is just able to transform into any land animals outside of dinosaurs. Granted she does have a preference for certain animals. She manages to retain the ability to speak which had been proven through various screenings of her vocal chords. One other bonus is the ability to understand animals.
Weakness - On the downside, her human form remains sensitive to strong scents and her mind can easily slip into 'instincts only' mode. Blair is also prone to overheating and becomes quite sluggish. There have been concerns with how high her metabolism so she consumes a large amount of food to quell the hunger.

Personality
Tobias goes to great lengths to get people to give him a wide berth. ‘Antisocial’ would be an understatement for how much effort he puts to make everyone avoid him. Those who work with him have found his Aloof behavior disconcerting, but understandable, given the nature of his career before coming to Camp Winifred. Some have witnessed, though he would sooner deny the claims, that Tobias has been noted to be Protective of those around him, even if he goes out of his way to show otherwise. Furthermore, he seems to be a firm believer in ‘Tough Love’, though perhaps he leans more towards the tough part…

Appearance
The first thing people would notice about Tobias would be the eyes; A thousand-yard stare that could pierce the mental fortitude of a Tibetan monk. Aside from that, the evidence of military training would become apparent- a toned physique and a fairly intimidating presence make for a hard to miss profile for veteran.
His general attire consists of a dark shirt and pants underneath a coat with a thin fur lining. More noticable is the rifle he always has slung over his shoulder at nearly all times.

Biography
Tobias Jackson, Grandson to current proprietor of Camp Winifred, is a man who would rather just be left alone.
Born in the Appalachian countryside, he grew up a normal enough life. Had a dog, friends, watched his parents divorce over his father’s drinking habits and family woes beyond. Let’s just say the Jacksons aren’t the easiest people to get along with. By the time they finally officially split it off, Tobias had found himself recruited into the armed forces. It seemed his pastime as a kid shooting a BB gun at targets paid off, and he ended up as a Designated Marksman. You’re probably wondering where his powers come into play. Well, it isn’t like his kind of power makes itself known in the most normal of ways, does it? No, it manifested itself in the worst of ways overseas it seemed. The entire operation was scrubbed. No information for anyone lower than Generals it seemed. He was discharged and his mind more broken than a post-bull china shop.
He was still able to function, mind you. He just… Didn’t integrate back into society, well, at all. After a few years of trying and giving up, his Grandfather decided to drag him to help with his camp. Whether or not this is a good idea remains to be seen…

The properties of Tobias’ power is hard to pinpoint, as it calls into question a lot of moral quandaries and dilemmas that honest folk frankly don’t have the stones to comprehend. The issue at hand deals with what his ability is able to tap into: The Soul of a dead creature.
In THIS case, he seems to be able to reanimate the remains of animals, which, as we all can attest to in the deep south, one does not have to go far to find something he can use… On top of reanimation, he seems to have a semblance of control over the arisen creatures. While using his power, his eyes invert in color, making it plain to everyone when something is coming…

Supporting Abilities:
Shared Vision: When his power is active, Tobias can share the sight of any creatures currently raised. This works both ways, allowing for benefits from views from different angles, to pinpointing a single place for how many he would want to go.
Perception: His passive eyesight has become heightened from his shared visions with his creations, causing his depth perception, night vision, and in some cases, color sight to become enhanced.

Weaknesses:
Shared Trauma: Raising a new creature causes mental strain on Tobias, as he relives the moment of expiry. For some, passing on naturally, for others a violent end. They all take their toll on his mind.
Focus Sink: A continuous link with his creatures requires a great deal of Tobias’ focus, and depending on the severity of the drain, can leave him open to attack. For the most part, it just makes him short with people, so the minor effects are hardly noticed…

Personality
An old soul long out of touch with his human side, Mungus is a placid, calm, and peculiar entity. He is content in nearly every possible situation, if perhaps lacking the understanding or perspective as to why others might perceive the same situation as tragic or calamitous. Despite his clear dissociation from more human problems, Mungus is a caring entity who tries his utmost to understand the problems of others and offer what aid he can.

The vast majority of Mungus’ physical mass is rooted beneath the ground, often taking up the larger portion of his mental faculties and leaving his above ground fungal avatars often somewhat disassociated from the current situation (He’s thinking about soil). Mungus thinks everything is great, even if he simply doesn’t understand it. He sees the greatest potential in every individual he meets, that potential being the new fungus friends their bodies will grow when they do pass on. But no rush… everyone dies someday.

Through his desire to help the inhabitants of the camp Mungus has taken on the role of a medic, despite having very limited knowledge of the human body. Very often, he fails to recognize what is wrong and it has to be pointed out to him. Even with his lack of strict physiological and medical knowledge, Mungus is a sort of artist when it comes to applying his vast array of fungus to clean, bind, and heal wounds and illnesses. This does not always come without… side effects.

Appearance
Mungus appears as a series of short and stout humanoid individuals composed of a fungal like substance, adorned with a large mushroom cap affixed atop the “head”, typically ranging from 2-3 feet in height at maturity (though some forms can grow quite large and robust). Instances of this entity may differ in exact appearance, taking on qualities of various mushroom species known to the forests of Appalachia, and occasionally species not known to mycology to date. The faces of these fungal avatars have two simple eyes but no recognizable mouth or other, typical facial features. Though typically ‘nude’, each avatar may adorn simple clothes of cloth, vegetation (such as mosses or large leaves), or a camp approved t-shirt typically far too large for their minute body sizes. Fresh fungal avatars appear as miniature versions of their adult counterparts, growing to full size within several hours before expiring at the end of a roughly 24 hour period. All of these fungal avatars are but the fruiting bodies of Mungus’ true form: a wide, complex network of hyphae spread throughout the forest’s soil with its highest density surrounding the original, once human body deep within a hidden underground grove somewhere within the forest. Over 90% of Mungus’ body is below the ground, solely engaged in accumulating and distributing nutrients throughout the network of hyphae.

Biography
Born human as any of us in the late 1600’s, Mungus lived a normal life until the fateful day he ingested a toxic mushroom. This event immediately triggered the activation of the child’s superhuman ability- his body quickly bonding with the foreign substance before it could succumb to its lethal toxicity. The association between flesh and fungus progressed rapidly through his system in the coming months before eventually losing his sense of self and dissociating from society to live among the woods and his newfound fungal family. Over the course of hundreds of years, he original body has long since been swallowed into the core of the forest’s fungal network below the soil, the memory of his humanity long since lost to him but replaced with a deep rooted understanding of the nature; the inevitability of death and the rebirth of new life from the decay.

Having just been literally vibing in the forest for hundreds of years, the construction of a ‘summer camp’ centralized above his deep rooted fungal mass drew his curiosity, becoming a permanent attendee of the camp and eventually a sort of staff member.

Superpower
Mushroom Physiology: Mungus is a mycelium network that spans across a large portion of the Appalachian forest, controlled by an original “human” body long since buried deep within the mountains. He is able to interact with the surface world through a series of fungal avatars, some of which possess medicinal, hallucinogenic, paralytic, or toxic properties when ingested or the spores inhaled. Many of these fungal avatars can be active at once, communicating through a hive-mind to the central mycelial network. Each avatar is composed of a modified fungus like flesh allowing for locomotion and perception of its surroundings. The avatars themselves are incapable of speech, however are able to communicate with other entities upon their inhalation of his spores, at which point he is able to convey his thoughts telepathically into their mind through these spores as a part of his hive-mind. The spores are otherwise harmless.

Each individual fungal avatar is made of mushroom-like flesh, and therefore is rather fragile and has a relatively short lifespan. These fungal bodies are typically unable to stray far from the edges of the mycelium network without losing connection to the hive-mind and losing sentience. The health of the overall fungal network relies on the health of the forest itself and having a steady supply of decaying material to sustain itself.

Don't let his love for dark colors and torn fabrics fool you- Chase Cutler lives for the limelight. Never one to shy away from crowds or chaos, he's a bit of a textbook extrovert, feeling even more energized after hanging out with some friends. On the flip side, this also means that he tends to be rather restless when cooped up inside or stuck anywhere all by himself. While some folks might find stargazing or curling up with a good book pleasant and relaxing, but to Chase, it's nothing but wasted time- why sit around just thinking or lollygagging when there's so much to do? There are games to beat, streets to skate, and stores to loiter in, god damn it! Being as people-oriented as he is, Chase has also been described as super dramatic- not really able to take constructive criticism well at all. Unless, of course, if by "well" you mean as a "personal attack on his character". The young man's big personality has gotten him into tons of trouble with teachers, bullies, and his own family at just about every turn, so at this point, he's no stranger to conflict. Get in good with any of his friends, and they're guaranteed to warn you against any of his get-rich-quick schemes since his flighty disposition means that Chase is just as quick to bail on a project as he is to propose one! Despite hating the idea of sitting around and thinking all day, he's quick to act and even quicker to make impulse decisions on behalf of the entire group, which is hardly appreciated. Although he's definitely a troublemaker who makes no effort to change his ways, Chase is loyal almost to a fault. Once you're on his side, he'll always have your back!

... and he'll also assume that you have his, so prepare for a trail of destruction and heartbreak. But mostly destruction.

Appearance
The first thing most folks notice about Chase is his flashy clothes and carefully done hair. While the logical thing to do would be to drop the habits for the duration of camp, he's already packed half a gallon of hair product and the entire fall collection of Kazara Men's. So either he's in for a rude awakening, or this young man is about to spend the whole time making sure his 'fit stays hotter than hell. Besides, his hair product smells like grape soda and was imported all the way from South Korea, so there was zero chance of him leaving that shit at home. Negative chance, if you don't understand how statistics works. His skin routine is just about as rigorous as his wardrobe, so unless a mosquito decides to make sweet, sweet love to his face, he'll be showing off his clear, creamy skin. Seriously though, this kid goes crazy about his skin care- making sure to down glasses of water every day and changing his pillowcase every night. If nothing else, you can be certain that Mama Cutler is more than relieved to not have to wash a bunch of pillowcases every week.

Besides all that, Chase stands a bit below average at 5 feet and 6 inches, and has the lean physique of a runner. Dark hair and smirking grey eyes give him a bit of a cold disposition, but don't tell him so, or you'll never hear the end of it.


Biography
One thing that people never guess about Chase is that he was actually a pretty meek and timid kid. He was never physically bullied by anyone, but since hardly anyone paid attention when he spoke anyways, he just never bothered. His family was more than happy with his good behavior and grades, so it seemed like it was his fate to just keep his mouth shut for his whole life. That was, until one faithful day when one of the neighborhood kids moved away- and left their skateboard behind. Now, Chance is no thief- er, at least, he wasn't back then- but free was free, right? So, having no friends or really anything better to do, young Chase hopped on the old, splintering board and- twisted his arm pretty darn badly.

But cut to a few months later, and he was skating like the best of them! Especially if the best of them were just the other local kids. By all means, it was just a stupid hobby, but suddenly, everything was different- instead of walking everywhere, every time he left his house was an adventure! He started learning tricks online, started looking at streets and sidewalks as places he could practice, or fly by, instead of just pavements. Learning to skate was like entering a whole new world! Oh, and best of all? He finally had friends. You know, people who asked to hang out, not just people who were nice to him during class. Things evolved pretty quickly after that- with his newfound confidence, Chase wondered what other small things could change the way he lived his life- so he found fashion, photography, and thought about making skate videos online. But his following was about what you'd imagine a middle schooler to have, which included his mom and a few friends. Things were looking up, but seemed pretty normal- that is, until around puberty, when his superpower manifested.

No one in his direct family had any sort of superpower, so it was unchartered territory for everyone! His parents let the government know right away so there wasn't any trouble, but that wasn't until after Chase tried to use his newfound powers for a quick chance at fame. Sure, there were tons of style and skater influencers out there, but how many could turn their body into liquid metal, huh? Not many, that's who! And, if the camp he was being sent to didn't have any wifi, then there wouldn't be a single one.

Y'know, since he would have been the only one.

Superpower
Put simply, Chase has a liquid metal body. If anything, he wishes that he could have found out about it sooner, since it seems to be his body's rudimentary form of regeneration- when he took a nasty fall off his board, scraping his cheek on dirty asphalt, his whole crew was shocked to see not blood-red blood, but instead a silvery, mercury-colored liquid just under his skin. What's more, it moved to pretty much heal itself, much to the amazement of the whole group! Leading up to that event, Chase knew something was changing in his body, and it wasn't just normal growing pains. Some days, he would get absolutely nauseous and just start throwing up- and he could have sworn there was a silvery glint to the expelled fluids, but he wasn't at all certain! Still, he supposed that it wasn't unheard of for a latent superpower gene to run in the family, but would it kill mom and dad to pay for a genealogy test?

He's still not experienced at all in using his ability, so currently he can only turn his body into its "true" metal form for a few minutes at a time, but in such a state it's more difficult to break his limbs, and he becomes immune to any kind of normal slashing or cutting. The metal isn't really hard, instead, it's more the consistency of skin or even water, so he hasn't tried utilizing it offensively. There's a little bit of shapeshifting ability there since in his metal form he can rearrange himself, but he can only shift back into flesh when he's in his normal body shape. Also, when he's in his liquid metal form, he can't really speak or even see- his organs all literally become the same type of metal "cell"- he's essentially a living cluster of nanites, with each microscopic particle independent but controlled by some diffused nervous system. Instead, the form is more sensitive to vibrations and waves of any kind, giving him a sort of echolocation in lieu of traditional sight.

Unfortunately, the metal form is also particularly vulnerable to the cold, where he has limited or even restricted mobility. High temperatures make it more difficult to retain any sort of metal form whatsoever, so he might end up melting into a sort of puddle. So he definitely has to watch out for extreme temperatures!

In addition to that, Chase may not know it yet, but he's going to have a massive aversion to magnets and magnetic waves of any kind- in high quantities, they can completely disrupt his form, and in low quantities, they'll make him absolutely sick to the stomach and unable to move or even think properly, courtesy of his low personal pain tolerance! As far as electricity goes, it wouldn't burn him to a crisp the way that it would in his fleshy form, but it also affects his form's integrity- in short, extreme temperatures, electricity, or magnets will all lead to a liquid metal puddle!

: This rascal is shameless enough to greet a stranger on the street and asks if he can borrow a phone since he needed to call a ride home. Adrian can (and most likely will) pull anyone capable of basic conversations into one. Some people may think it's annoying, but it's comforting to know you will always have a conversation partner in him.

Honest: The boy is a rascal, but he's honest to a T. You won't find Adrian lying through his teeth and keeping cool as a cucumber; you'll find him lying while whistling and being suspicious as hell. The moral values hammered into his head by his grandma keeps Adrian a goodie two shoes who knows good from wrong even when he does wrong.

Mischievous: The main reason he's a rascal. People usually grow out of physical slapsticks as they, well, grow. Adrian doesn't. And when a teen sticks a piece of gum on your chair, you won't have the tolerance you have when it's done by a kindergartener.

Self-centred: The secondary reason he's a rascal. When he has something he likes doing but it disturbs literally everyone else apart from him, Adrian won't give a whit about those stupid opinions and keep on doing whatever he is doing. He likes it! Your opinions don't matter! You don't matter!

Appearance
Adrian swims frequently and competitively, which helps to shape his body into something more athletic than your average teenager. He stands at 5'9'', taller than average though does not necessarily tower over the others. When going around in public, he usually wears a full-body swimming suit underneath whatever clothes he wear over them. He likes loose, airy clothes that's easy to put on, so a t-shirt and baggy jeans are his go-to pick.

Biography
An antique shop could be mistaken for a junk shop by people who didn't know any better. Cang Yue, a widow who owned an antique shop, had long used to being treated as a free babysitter by her three sons. She didn't mind taking care of her grandchildren over the weekends every other week, but then her first son dropped an illegitimate daughter to her lap before going off to prison. For excessive filching. Before the shock faded, her third son dropped his son two days later before disappearing after the death of his wife in a motor accident. He went off to the Caribbean, lost his memory, saved a conveniently rich and beautiful woman from a malicious plot, and lived happily ever after.

That son was Adrian.

Suddenly having two more children in her hand was overwhelming, especially with Adrian being less of an angel and more of a hyperactive rabid mole high on sugar. He was three when he entered Cang Yue's care and had little emotional baggage from the abandonment as a result. To compensate for that, he looked for attention through making troubles.

Now, Grandma Cang loved Adrian as much as she loved loveable, responsible Gadis (she was also in high school and was definitely easier to handle), but sometimes Grandma just needed a break.

That was how Adrian got dropped into the camp.

Superpower
Solid Swim
Adrian is able to change into a phased state, such that his body can pass through obstacles and solid matter without a trace. While in this state, he is still able to move around, as though swimming through solids. Adrian cannot phase through living organisms such as animals, plants, or humans. He also still needs to breathe, and therefore can't stay inside solid objects indefinitely.

Another downside to this is his sight is extremely limited in solid. When he is underground, he couldn't see what is outside. There is also the matter of clothes; tight-fitting clothes count as a part of his body when he shifts for the same reason Adrian does not shed dead skins and dust whenever he shifts. The problem is, tight-fitting clothes aren't comfortable.

Introverted:

His mom says he's just "shy" but honestly he finds that more than a little patronizing. He prefers to think of it as "Keeping his own Counsel." Except that saying that out loud sounds more than a little pretentious, and will typically get you beat up and stuffed in a locker. So he prefers thinking to talking, and the fact that people suck just reinforces his opinions on the merits of communicating your thoughts to others.

Fatalistic:
Of course, leading with "people suck" might lead you to think Gerald is a misanthrope. In this you would not be wrong. Not exactly. The difference is subtle but, he feels, important: he doesn't take it personally. People are how they are. Wishing they would be different is asking for heartache. Keep people at a distance and keep your expectations low and you'll never, ever, be disappointed.

Funny:
Given his other traits, not too many people know this about Gerald; almost all of his most jocose comments remain purely part of his internal monologuing. But every once in a great while, one slips out. Either it is too good to resist sharing, or he feels he has read the room well enough to know it won't result in a locker stuffing. Lately he has been a bit less worried about that given the events of the last few weeks, but on the other hand he's quite a bit less keen to draw attention.

Observant:
The natural companion of introversion, and the indispensable progenitor of both funny and fatalism, this is probably the core of Gerald's personality. His inner monologue never stops, and misses very very little.

Appearance
Gerald's skin never quite looks right no matter how hard he tries, so he has settled on a default simulation of severe acne to avoid anyone looking too closely. He can change that pretty dramatically though if he wants to, and sometimes even when he doesn't want to, as noted in his powers below. He generally prefers shapeless voluminous clothing that covers as much of his skin as possible.

Biography
Gerald is the fifth of seven children in the Marinos family who run a chain of discount furniture stores from Massachusetts to Baltimore. While they are for all practical purposes wealthy, they are in an eternal state of barely balanced financial leverages, and never more than a steep recession away from bankruptcy. Not that he knows anything about that. All he knows is that his parents barely acknowledged his existence before his powers manifested. To be honest, he is pretty sure he preferred that state of affairs. Now that he is the only one in the family with super powers, everyone is kind of freaked out. He thinks his dad might have mafia connections; at the last family meeting he went on a rant about how supers were bad for business, snooping around and what not, and how no loyal member of the Marinos clan would ever work for the Feds... Typical out of touch genZey, his dad. As if having powers automatically makes you a crime fighter. Like what, that comes coded into the genes? Eye. Roll.

So anyway, things are a little tense at home.

At least his mom had the sense to send him off to this camp. Not exactly out of love, per se, but at least it takes a little of the pressure off. Until the homesickness kicked in... which was pretty much as soon as they drove away. It's going to be a long summer. And 'special school' waiting at the end of it! Yay.

Gerald was a normal kid until three weeks ago. So normal you'd never notice him. The irony of this is not lost on him: Trading social camouflage for actual camouflage? Who writes this garbage?

Now he can change his skin color and texture like an octopus. The lab tech was very helpful in explaining all the details about chromatophores, iridophores, and leucophores. As a side effect it has made him more flexible. A lot more flexible. Like to kind of a disgusting degree. He still has bones, more or less; he can still stand up and walk around like a normal person. Unlike a normal person he can now squeeze through a pipe less than six inches wide. Yuck.

So. Benefits: can instinctually change color and texture to blend into any background (He's thinking codename: wallflower. Not.)
Can change shape pretty dramatically, but has to keep the same basic body plan. Think quintuple jointed circus contortionist with freakishly soft bones; he's not plastic man, he doesn't have tentacles and he can't stretch. He's just super super bendy.
He can swim pretty well if he stops trying to do it like a human, but definitely cannot breathe underwater.
Freakishly strong grip, and can use his whole body do do it now

Drawbacks:
Can't do skin properly. Can do impressions well enough you know who he's going for, but can't disguise himself as human. Does a pretty good lion-fish though
Skin dries out easily and smells funny.
Soap hurts a lot, and doesn't help with the smell.
Looks super gross when he swims, even if he tries to do it like a human.
Eyes are sensitive to bright lights
Bones are flexible, which is painful all the time, and while it seems that they can't break, they do bruise, and easily.
'Instinctually" means it can happen spontaneously if startled or stressed out.

Alron is surprisingly optimistic about life although this is more or less a cover for the rather traumatic experience of having his body melt. Arlon never really though his life would end up in the way it did to put It lightly going to sleep one night to only have incredibly painful dream about your body literally melting into goop and then waking up on your 12th birthday only to find out that yes your a literal puddle on the floor forever stuck to look like your 12 year old self a blob or someone else kinda hurt him psychologically for a while but he managed to pull through it. And why is he going to this camp you might ask? Because he can.. that’s all there is to it just fun summer camp memories.

Mimic Sludge: Alron's body melted down into a sort of black slime-like substance. With a few of the slime-like traits associated with slimes. It is a strange twist allows him to copy other things whether it be a person or device there is a lot of limiting factors to this ability

Assimilation: it’s a process that takes 10 hours where Alron's body covers the person or items, basically soaking up the “knowledge” allowing him to perfectly replicate the thing. The process CANNOT be interrupted or it will have to start over. When done on living being the being must stay totally still for the duration means that any form of assimilation of others abilities is incredibly unlikely due to this fact.

Weakness: cold weather will slow him down seriously... like icey crystal-forming within him, while he can copy someone he's by no means any stronger then he normal is even if he transforms into a muscly af monster thing.

Oh man, Ricky is extremely eager to start his job at Camp Winifred! There's gonna be campfires, hiking, nature lessons, sing-a-longs, games, you name it! Best of all, no phones or computers, no showering or shaving for weeks at a time! Man, what could be better? A morning person, Ricky believes in the virtue of turning in early and waking up before dawn, and is impossibly energetic at all hours. Still, energy without eloquence or... much in the way of intelligence only serves to make one more talkative with nothing much to say. This more or less sums up Ricky. It is a fact of his character to be rightly perceived as goofy, especially around kids, who he's pretty sure find him hilarious. However, even in serious situations, or while having to discipline a camper, Ricky just can't turn his lighthearted mode off. This is altogether worse for everyone than the alternative, and he comes off as a smug bastard.

Appearance
Ricky is a few inches shorter than the average person, and his hair and beard are both a few inches long. He's a little round in the gut, but oddly also in his limbs, as though his "quads, tri's, and 'ceps" overfilled his skin. Physically, though, he's still not very impressive, not least because he doesn't do much that requires a lot of strength.

Biography
Ricky was born into a family with a long hippie heritage, although they were growing increasingly disillusioned of the culture, and his mother was something of a black sheep among them to begin with. He spent the beginning of his childhood without animal products, sugar, or gluten, but came around to all three by his tenth year or so. He never quite shed the surrounding culture, though, especially within his school system, where everyone would always remember him as the kid that smelled like patchouli. The manifestation of his powers, which almost nobody believed he actually had, reinforced the image. He owned his pigeonhole, though, and found a close group of friends and a totally-serious-long-term-super-in-love girlfriend.

After graduating (barely), he realized that his life after high school had entirely slipped his mind. He scarcely had any idea what he wanted to do with himself, and even less in the way of marketable abilities. He'd been camping before, though, and he liked that, so he applied to the local summer camp as a counselor. They took him on, and though he wasn't exactly a naturalist at the outset, he picked up the trade within a few weeks. Within a few months, he started hearing from his girlfriend less and less when he got back to his phone on the weekends. After a few years, she was all but a stranger to him, and the summer camp let him go in favor of the latest graduating class. Camp Winifred, though, was always looking for experienced counselors dim enough to apply.

Superpower
Phytoempathic: Ricky doesn't know exactly what that means, and can't pronounce it right, but basically he can talk to plants.

His array of senses is enhanced so as to pick up on the spectrum used by most plants for communication, including but not limited to pheromones, electrical signaling, and soil chemical composition (although this works better if he's barefoot, which isn't a problem for Ricky). His Wernicke's area is modified so as to interpret this information and construct a dialogue for plants that he can understand.

As a supporting ability, he can synthesize and produce pheromones and signals to respond to plants with. However, he's not well suited to this. His pheromones often come out wrong and are always... distasteful, to the plants. Basically, he's even less articulate speaking to plants than to humans.

There is a hard limit to the information he can get from plants; just because he can talk to them doesn't make them humans. They can't tell him if they've seen or heard anything in the forest because they have neither eyes nor ears. Most of what they have the language to convey is injury, disease, parasites, disliked temperatures and neighbors growing too close to them; they pretty much just complain.

: A generic trait perhaps, but nevertheless it encapsulates much of Andreas' personality. He is literally selfless enough to take the clothes off his body to give to those in apparent need. He has need for precious little and shows it. Half of all the money he makes goes to varying charity projects!

Encouraging: Without a doubt, Andreas believes in you. He believes in your potential to attain dreams. He will make every effort he can to help you actualize them, whether through tangible training or kind words. His encouragement is often weirdly grounded in sensibility as well, so often even cynical types find his encouragement useful.

Emotionally Raw: Powerfully so, Andreas wears every emotion on his sleeve at 10000% heat. He can't lie to save his life quite literally. His emotions are visual discernible by any one with a single ounce of sense, and easily manipulable by anyone who knows anything about him.

Feral Voracity: While naturally protective of food at all times. When pushed to a point of true hunger Andreas gets...not mean necessarily, but something akin to a feral beast. Unthinking in his pursuit of satiation, he will lash out at those that come too close. This is a source of pain and sadness for him, and he tries his damnedest to never get this hungry.

Appearance
6'8" and rippling with powerful muscle, Andreas poses an intimidating figure. This is not helped by his red eyes and black sclera, the writhing cracks that run up and down his body, or the numerous scars he has. The most recent of which seems to wrap completely around his waist and to the edges of his back. His hair does what it wants, when it wants to. His only semblance of control over his appearance is his facial hair which he keeps neatly maintained, and his clothes. His taste in the latter however is quite simple. Jeans and tees, with colorful shoes you'd swear you could whitewater raft in.

Biography
Dumped on the door step of the Cinnamon Ridge Home for Special Children as a baby, Andreas grew up completely unaware of his parents identities. While some lamented this fact Andreas never seemed to catch on to why he should be bothered. Growing up happy under the care of the staff, he loved effectively playing older brother to dozens of kids throughout the years. He was sneered and laughed at for his "freakish appearance" and "monstrous ability" by some, but the people who mattered thought he was awesome and so did he!

However not all the kids there felt the same way, and he strove to give them a reason to believe orphans and "freaks" like them could do anything, be anything. He would show the world this truth! This did he set out to be accepted into the school for heroes, Aegis. And accepted he was, for four years he gave his all in every class asked of him, while helping take care of the orphans at home. Some classes went amazing! Others.....less so. He went on to graduate as one of the most promising students of his age!

Upon graduation he said his farewells at the orphanage, took the money he had saved up from part time jobs, and left for DC. He sought out hero work and took on any job asked of him, no matter how small. Thankfully his efforts alongside the gossip of the promising young dragon hero led him to become a big name more swiftly then he hoped. Over the years he's become one of the biggest names in heroism in the city of DC and surrounding areas.

Most recently he stopped an attempted attack on the White House, taking an attack meant to level the building and kill the President and his staff. While Andreas survived the attack despite being nearly bisected, he requires a fair amount of time to recover in peace. Thus he was offered the quiet position of an activities director at a camp for powered youths, where he could recover in secret and still guide and mold those he always sought to be an example for.

Superpower
Main power: Dragon Physiology
Able to take on the form of a fifty foot, twelve-and-a-half ton dragon. Andreas has the ability to fly, breathe fire, survive insane damage, gains enhanced senses, and as far as he is to know, he will continue to grow for as long as he lives.

Supporting Ability 1: Partial Transformation
Andreas can partially transform his body into a semblance of his dragon form, from his eyes for greater sight to growing wings for human flight. He can not however keep his eyes from being visually striking, or remove the writhing black lines on his body from concealing his dragon form.

Supporting ability 2: Robust Immune System
Andreas has an insanely powerful immune system thanks to the raw metabolic force that a dragon requires. Smaller wounds can snap heal, with the possible drawback of healing too quickly and scarring. While larger wounds heal at about human rate, but with perfect cellular replication. This means should no one kill Andreas he could theoretically live forever.

Drawbacks: Andreas has an absolutely insane demand for his caloric intake and must be eating nigh always, due to the energy needed for his dragon form. Should he be forced to use too much energy he stops thinking in human terms in his hunt for food, sometimes eating actual whole cows.

The strain of constant size-shifting and trying to compress his dragon mass into human form has led to him having a sort of pseudo arthritis. He tends to be in a measure of low-level pain at all times while in human form.

The raw mass of his body and energy within means his body temperature is much, much higher than the average person even in human form. You can practically feel his body heat from more than a foot away. While this means cold environs don't bother him much, hotter ones threaten to dehydrate and exhaust him quickly. He can't and won't wear more than a t-shirt as it threatens to cause him heatstroke.

He is very stubborn; once he's got his heart set on something, he will almost never change his mind. He is proud of this trait, and displays it often. He is loyal to whoever earns his trust, and can be counted on to do something.

- Cunning
Minji is smart; as a kid he would do outlandish things and slip his way out of them using his ability to convince people or by thinking outside the box. Because of this, he doesn't get into trouble often and never learns his lesson.

- Selfish
Although he's loyal to his friends and those who's earned his trust, he doesn't care at all for others. He'll take whatever he can get, and sometimes he does things for his friends, even if those very same friends don't approve of his behavior.

- Sociopathic
Especially after his powers kicked in, he became much more devoid of visible emotion; when he gets bored, he doesn't just play a small prank; he scares others with his coldness and how committed he is to do things to end his boredom.

Appearance
Michael has blackish straight hair that hangs at his ears; he is rather slim and, while he doesn't mind getting his regular clothing ready, he hates getting dirt on his formal outfit: a white overcoat with a green tie. He wears a black watch on his left forearm. The watch is his most prized possession. He hates long pants; it feels restricting for him. His skin is slightly tanned, and he has a black birthmark on his back. His height varies because of his power, and sometimes his features change a little. Originally his hair was brown and his eyes were blue, but now his hair is black and his eyes are brown.

He was born in a family of two brothers and sisters. His father was harsh, but his mother kept him in check, comforting his children even when they didn't want it. He was often the most mischievous; the other siblings were less committed to their own pranks. He would sit in the bushes for over an hour just to scare someone. Michael received his powers in a span of two months when he was twelve; he only really started to notice it when he got really tall. Eventually, he figured out why, and then he could revert back to normal over a day. After this, he started experimenting; he learned a lot about his power, and only noticed the more dangerous aspects when he was thirteen.

High school started; crowded hallways meant he would almost always absorb someone's features, so Michael tried to be late or early to classes. At this time, he had become a lot colder and more stubborn, not a good combination. He did outlandish things. Once he came into contact with someone else with powers and realized exactly what his power could do. At home, things got worse for him. When he painted his father's car neon green, his parents finally sent him to camp.

Superpower
He shifts into whatever he touches. Thick clothing stops this, but light clothing only lessens it. Michael absorbs more physical features and traits the more there is contact with skin and can get rid of most of it if he concentrates enough. In this state, he has to eat a lot to make up for the energy his body uses. His personality is also affected when touching someone else. These cause short-term effects that involve emotions and cause a shift in personality, and while this state dies down after about a day, he still has a shift in his personality. He also gains powers. The more contact with skin, the more of that person's power he gets.

- Michael's power is involuntary. Even if he doesn't want acne, if he bumps into someone with it, say hello to acne for at least three hours. He gets blinded if he touches someone with glasses. His senses can also mess him up. When he becomes taller, his viewpoint is different than usual and disorients him, and he will often trip on his long legs.

- Absorbed powers sometimes fight with each other, causing massive gut pain and effectively immobilizing him for short periods of time.

- When he absorbs the features of multiple people in a short period of time, he comes into a state which he calls his unstable shift, where his body is absorbing a few features at once and gets 'confused'. When unstable shifting, his physical features, and his internal emotions and personality constantly change. His gender could flip rapidly, his eyes change colors, and his hair shortens and lengthens in seconds. His emotions go from crushing depression to an unbelievable high, while he goes from broody and unforgiving to bubbly and laughing.

Appearance
Colt is a field hamster that stands at 4.7 inches tall and wears a little sun hat. His moss green eyes stand out against his tan fur and dark brown patches. He has expressive black eyebrows, and a cut on his left ear. He often carries a shovel to help defend himself with. There really isn’t much else to say except he walks around on his two back paws. It seems his power allows him to work his new body much like his human body.

Biography
Once upon a time a young boy really wanted a pet hamster after his class got a class pet hamster. His parents refused, saying he couldn’t handle having a pet. That night he wished with all of his heart for a pet hamster. When he awoke that morning he discovered that his entire world had enlarged several times its size! Or rather, he’d shrunk down to the size of a rodent. A hamster, to be precise. Because he was one.

In rapid succession he and his parents discovered that he had powers, or a power. The ability to change his physical form into whatever living creature he wanted to. He gained a lot benefits with this: he could take on attributes of the creature, but also kept human attributes. It was so cool! There was only one hitch: he couldn’t turn back from a hamster into a human.

His ability only activated the one time, and for the rest of his life he would physically be a hamster. Thankfully lifespan was one of the human traits he got to keep.

Colt spent a lot of time in and out of special facilities for kids like him. But he also spent a lot of time with psychological specialists. As a child he was able to cope fairly well with being a hamster, but as he aged he wasn’t able to handle it as well... and things got worse.

Eventually he was able to leave the psychological facilities he’d been sent to and he was left to deal with the world in his own way. Lost and alone he eventually made the acquaintance of one Jeb Jackson.

He agreed to work for Jeb as someone to help kids cope with the negatives of their powers. He would also be the camp mascot, garden protector, and pet. An odd job, but it like Jeb say he had a psych doctor on staff.

Superpower
"Polymorph": Can turn himself into any creature he wishes. Sadly, it only worked once.

Relatively fit, lightly scarred, with a severe limp in her right leg necessitating a cane. Dresses in worn jeans or cargo pants, formal blouses, and an ever-present long coat. Graying hair worn short, blue-gray eyes.

Biography
Once a superhero named Blackout, Daria has been through her share of near-death fights, losses, and bitter ends. After almost losing her leg in a battle, she retired for nearly a decade before being convinced to help mold the next generation at Camp Winifred. She's seen a lot of ugliness on both sides of the hero/villain conflict and has become jaded about all of it.

Superpower
Daria has the ability to psychically prevent supers from using their powers. When she has 'blocked' a super, their mind no longer allows them to consciously activate any aspect of their power. Physical features and passive effects, or those over which they had no control, remain, but they are no longer able to use any aspect of their power that required a conscious decision on their part.
In order to block a super's powers, Daria normally has to make skin-to-skin contact, but if she concentrates, she can apply it through light clothes. If she is very, very focused, or stressed to the degree of mortal danger, she can block through eye-contact alone. The effect of blocking normally persists for at least an hour, sometimes as much as two, but particularly willful or psychically powerful supers can break through it after about a half hour, or sooner, with a lot of mental exertion.

Kind-hearted: He holds an appreciation and love for life that is quite rare in this day and age, even despite his powers being related to predators and being young... A result of always being so overly aware of his surroundings, of bugs, of birds and all kinds of animals around him... he appreciates all life and will feel sad if he as much as steps on a bug by accident... his family tells him he should not be that soft, but he remains stubborn about life's preciousness regardless.

Altruistic: Despite not being the richest, he has always like giving things, for it makes people happy. His family so far has been the recipient of these things which ranged from little web things to drawings to little crocheted items... Arthur has always liked seeing happiness, that and when he gave things to people in school and growing up (once his appearance changed) would actually talk to him instead of ignoring the boy... so for one reason or another, he likes giving handcrafted items to people as a gesture of thanks and to try to make friends.

Quiet: Ever since he was a child, before the time of powers and eventually hormones he had always been a quiet, nice, and non-talkative boy. At first, it was because he didn't want to make unnecessary noise, then it was because unnecessary noise startled him a lot (With his overstimulated senses and all that). As such, normally when he is in a room he is either quietly listening or quietly doing something, and will only speak up when he thinks its necessary.

Paranoid: To be more specific, paranoic of his immediate surroundings, which only intensifies when there's no familiarity with the place, its enclosed, and its crowded. Due to the nature of the animals that are related to his power, the young boy deals with a very hypersensitive sense for his surroundings, sometimes feeling the movement of even bugs around him... so in new places with lots of possible stimuli, it overwhelms him, makes the boy unable to focus and stresses him out. A combination of a distraction and something to do on top of that tends to muffle the feeling... but he is at least able to relax in familiar, quiet environments for the most part.

Modest: Arthur doesn't consider himself all that capable of things, despite taking to his family's work incredibly well, picking up English AND Farsi very well, among other things. He just doesn't consider what he does all that worthy of praise, but also doesn't hate his own work or performance... he just feels like he could be doing better and others do better than him.

Inferiority complex: And on the topic of modesty... the young boy has a complex about his looks and powers... specifically the multiple feline eyes, the retractable claws and... the pores silk came from. They freak people out, on average, and apart from his family which was happy to keep loving their Arthur, strangers tend to have a more adverse reaction on average to his looks... at least once the part about his powers is made clear. Otherwise, if Arthur can avoid using his powers and hide some of the extra eyes, he looks quite normal. He likes using headbands, wool hats, and things that can cover the extra sets. Over time though he developed a bit of a complex on his appearance, along also growing up around a lot of skillful craftsmen who were strict in their trade bit away a bit at Arthur's confidence in his skills... he doesn't outright hate the things he does, but only believes them to be serviceable, despite what the real quality of the items he makes could be.

Appearance
For the most part, Arthur can be considered to have the looks of someone of Iranian descent... at least for the most part. As in, olive-colored skin, long legs with a short body, wavy black hair, and starting to show body hair in multiple areas like the arms, legs, and chest, for now not enough to amount to anything substantial. These ethnic traits also include a convex nose ridge, one which is also long and narrow. The face itself is long and has a receding chin along having sharp features, and a lot of large eyes... all of them green with catlike pupils... and extending into his long upper face, mostly the sides of the forehead, all trailing off from eyes that would be in their usual place in normal humans.

Apart from that distinctive feature, Arthur possesses another eye-catching one: Hands that look out of place for someone of his 5'3'' size... way too big, with thicker than normal fingers and above all, unconventional nails... or more accurately, claws, retractable, cat-like claws that through biology slide in and out of the finger and are capable of cutting many things due to being razor-sharp. Apart from that? He could be considered quite the average boy for the most part.

Biography
Arthur Sabourjian is the son of a family of Iranian descent... a family part of a community of craftsmen making carpets that were oddly pro-western, and as such ran away to the United States once the Iranian revolution detonated, and by 1979 they had already moved. Adapting was a bit difficult, but the family and its community were able to find its niche as a family workshop providing for the community they settled in, yet they never fully assimilated, and they never will, for deep inside them, the family still years to go back to Iran one day
... well, at least the older generation does. Arthur's generation along his parents are more on the fence on the matter, as they have for the most part strayed away from family tradition, with his dad working for the government (by this point they are considered naturalized) and his mom keeping the family tradition alive as a hobby while working a day job.

As for the kid himself... he was a normal toddler, only being taught some of the family traditions along with Farsi AND English from a young age. He was mostly oblivious to the uglier sides of life, only really trying to have fun, learn about the world around him. That was until his father got transferred to another location that was short-handed in a different state when he was still young. So poor Arthur was moved from new york to one of the southern states, where he started witnessing some uglier sides of humanity, specifically, racism. Even at the private school, he was harassed for being Iranian by racist white kids (who in their defense, were probably lead to believe it was normal due to bad parents).

That didn't make his life any easier as an already introverted kid, it only made the already hard process of living in a new city even harder. Unbearably so, the poor kid had more than one day that he went back home crying to his parents who sadly were powerless to do anything about the situation, for the administration of the school refused to do so. And considering this school was the nicest one in the area, changing places was not an option... much to Arthur and his parents' dismay. They did what they could to comfort the child, spending more time with him, making sure he felt safe at home, teaching him useful things to deal with bullies.

But one day it was just, too much. By this point the kid was already a teen, 14 to be exact, but the harassers' finally decided that it was time to get physical after the Iranian boy had decided to stop humoring their abuse and just ignore them... first, they went for his only friend to get to him which instigated Arthur to physically stop them, falling right into their trap. The poor black-haired teen was beaten up mercilessly, and it was during this time, while he was trying to grip onto one of his attacker's shirt that the gene triggered, and one of the more dangerous traits triggered, stabbing slightly into one of the bullies' sides, scaring them off, one bleeding on his shirt.

Arthur himself was sprawling on the floor, disoriented, in pain, exhausted and in high alert... his friend? He ran away, the poor kid had stayed there powerless watching the beatdown but the moment the Iranian teen changed, he ran away... That day there was a huge ruckus raised in the sector of the down, eventually, his parents learned what happened, the whole incident. Thankfully for Arthur, his mom and dad were extremely supportive, and so were his family who were very aware of how it felt like to be discriminated against. His dad, seeing the chance, asked to be moved back to their home state of new york where there was a strong commonwealth presence already.

Arthur got tested and sent to school to gain control over his powers, and was for the most part... a little happier, but now he was facing another completely different kind of discrimination, especially due to his very noticeable multiple eyes. As a measure as of late, he uses a handmade headband to cover the majority of the eyes and a pair of sunglasses to both help him see better in broad daylight. As of now, he is still recovering from the many years of harassment, having become even more introverted than he already was (though thanks to his parents' active efforts, he was much better off than other kids in similar situations).

Now, due to it being mandatory, was being sent to a camp to spend some time with fellow superpowered teens... much to Arthur's dismay as he was just starting to get used to the overwhelming spatial awareness that came with his powers. Thankfully, through the combination of his experience with fabric and his newly-found ability to make spider silk, the boy was able to keep himself distracted during the bus trip there, and now, has to face a day full of new experiences in an unknown place with unknown people... oh how pitiable he could be at times.

Superpower
Chimera: The individual has a number of traits from 2 different animals grafted onto the body of a human (specifically the spider and the big cat, making one think of the chimeras of myths. In Arthur's case, his hands now house retractable, razor-sharp claws that are housed within his bigger and thicker than average fingers. He can use them as well but are not special and take time to regrow if broken.

He also posses multiple feline eyes which allow for basically perfect night-vision, along granting... very bad photosensitivity issues. Arthur normally wears a headband over most of his eyes except two (the original ones), which he covers with sunglasses for most of the day.

He also is able to produce spider silk, but not in unlimited quantities. Its also specialized, akin to that of a normal spider with some webbing being stickier and others for making structures. It doesn't have a dedicated area to come out of in comparison to the arachnid, but instead, the teen can... enlarge his pores, almost in an uncanny manner, to let the silk come out. He needs nutrients to produce silk and in the end its still flammable spider silk, just bigger and more of it.

And finally... He has the same spatial awareness of a cat and a spider together, and as such is always listening for sounds, feeling for movements and sudden changes in the surroundings... but not voluntarily. All his senses are always on edge and as such, since the power awakened, he has been unable to relax outside of familiar places at all and is very easily stressed out or freaked out by sudden noises or movements. And in all likelihood will never be able to make this disappear, only be less severe.

Lacking in patience and even more lacking in morals, Thelma isn't the greatest person to walk the earth. She likes to think that her dedication to various subjects and her boundless curiosity makes up for it. Unfortunately the people she encounters are typically amongst those subjects. Even more unfortunately, she likes to express her curiosity towards these subjects in a number of ways, vivisection for instance.

Appearance
Thelma keeps her brown hair short and prefers to dress practically without any accessories, although she can often be found carrying around some esoteric lab equipment. She is thin, with pale skin, grey eyes and a perpetual haggard look.

Biography
Once a leading researcher in super-powered phenomena and physiology working under the Commonwealth, she quickly found herself on the wrong side of the law when the organizations crimes came to light. Crimes that she helped commit. Fortunately for her it was the very things she did in the name of science that saved her, with a certain woman under the name of Matron wanting to have Thelma in her employ; it was a good deal, one that allowed her to continue some of the work she was doing, avoid the searching eye of the authorities and make use of the knowledge she learned from her experiments for the benefit of the Genesis Corporation.

Alas, good things rarely last forever. Years hidden away had not been enough to make certain people stop looking for her and now she finds herself at Camp Winifred, hoping that it might be enough to throw those hounding her off the scent so she can get back to work at GC.

Superpower
Insomniac: Thelma is incapable of sleeping. As a result of this she can make the best use of all hours in a day. However, she still suffers from some of the effects of sleep deprivation such as irritability and medication does very little to dull her symptoms.

Auntie Josephine has sticky pads on her hand and feet for climbing and strong legs for jumping surprisingly great distances for her reputed age. She exudes a neurotoxin through her skin which she uses to poison her blades and darts. It is not as potent as it was in her youth, but it will still knock you for a loop if you get a good dose of it.

Despite her past experiences and how he herself has been treated to this point, she still actively trues to be kind to all others. Some may say she only does this to avoid confrontation or enemies, but others might notice it as the only time any real force of personality seems to exude from her.

Adaptable
As a byproduct of her life in foster care and numerous homes and schools, she has become very much an actively adapting sort. She tends to begin taking on required aspects to fit in as needed within a relatively short time of being somewhere.

Soft-spoken
Melody is not really one to express herself loudly and aggressively. Her tone is nearly always measured and peaceful. As if she were explaining a concept to an easily startled child.

No Self Importance
She has always needed to be what others want, and was hurt otherwise. So she hasn't really had a solid self identity in a long time. She doesn't consider herself important compared to others, hardly forming an opinion based on her own thoughts.

Biography
Born in Los Angeles originally, Melody was given up for adoption shortly after her birth. It was the first time of many she was given to the foster care system. She jumped around from home to home in rather rapid order. Given up when people were done using her physically or emotionally, or in certain cases when it was discovered she'd affiliated with a gang in the local area. She always did it for friends and safety, but it only ever seemed to backfire.Yet she continued to do it.

One of her case workers thought transferring her away from her home city was the best idea. Yet, in Baltimore she still found a gang of sorts in her high school. One who picked up on her submission and eagerness to befriend rather easily. They thought they'd play a game to initiate the new girl. Either she'd succeed and they'd all profit, or fail and they get a fun story. They convinced her to pick her way into a rival gang members locker to steal and sabotage some of her things. She of course agreed.

It did not go as planned. Oh, sneaking in the locker room during class wasn't difficult, no. Nor was picking the lock to the locker. However when she was about to leave she found herself confronted by the rival gang member and several friends. They disagreed with her actions via fist on face violence. That didn't turn out to be enough for them. One pulled a knife out on her. She panicked, tried anything to escape.

That was the first time her super gene decided it wanted to be relevant. Between the time the girl tried stabbing her and she began screaming, she changed. Suddenly there was no girl held and pinned by several others. No, there was a sixteen foot King Cobra. It was clearly dazed and confused, Melody stunned by her first use of her ability. But those girls might as well have been bitten for how loudly they screamed and how quickly they ran.

A flurry of things happened following this. Melody was classified and registered as a super and given Rank as appropriate to the Commonwealth belief. Her caseworker pulled her from that school until she could figure out an alternative. Then eventually Camp Winifred, she hoped perhaps it would be here that she might finally fit in.

Superpower
Melody has the ability to change forms into a wide variety of plants, animals, and objects. From a bathtub to a literal phoenix, she has both inane and awesome forms!

  • Partial Shifting(Latent/Undiscovered): Melody can shift select portions of herself into other forms.
  • Size Shifting(Latent/Undiscovered): Melody can change the size of her forms to become larger or smaller as desired.

Limitations
  • Form Choice: Perhaps a permanent limitation, perhaps one she'll get over with time and growth. Melody can't seem to choose which of her forms she transforms into. This can get rather awkward or unpleasant when she gets the opposite of her intended result.
  • Damage Transfer: Any wound gained while in her forms will transfer to a similar degree when she turns back. The reverse holds true as well. Ex remove a limb in human form, dragon fly only has 3 wings. Stab a bird's eye out, one less eye in human form.
  • Time Constraints: Any form she stays in for an hour or more she is stuck in until 24 hours from the time she transformed. She has no clue why, but has made sure it only happened the first time.
  • Instinct Control: When she transforms and when she changes back, she has control issues over the forms natural instincts. After transforming back she retains some of those instincts for a time in human form.
  • Shift Time: Depending on the form she can take from ten seconds to a minute.
  • Human Base: She must return to human form to shift to another form.
  • Shift Delay: She must wait five minutes between shifting forms. This does not include becoming human again after changing.
  • Animal Speech: She can't speak English, or any other human language, while in an animal form that doesn't have the ability to also speak that language. So no talking dogs or snakes!
