Fantasy the dark carnival

Xenomorph

“I do not love men: I love what devours them.”
Would anyone be interested in a modern horror RP set in a freakshow carnival? I have the groundwork laid down already.

More info on the starting post on Page 2!

I'd be interested If I knew more other then the Carnival.
Its a classic inspiration with a horrible twist. As the plot moves on things become more hellish than outward appearances would suggest. I'd play the role of a guide taking people through the horrific encounters of the carnival

Yeah, I'm going to have to back out
Aww. I play a young boy exploring through the carnival, I'm just helping lay groundwork for lots of fun encounters!

It was late afternoon; young Ronald had managed to skip his last hour of school. Mrs. Primbrose thought that drama was an art form, but Roland thought it was a decent way to do nothing and get credit for the class. Besides, he had heard of a new freak show in town, some creepy carnival that was only in town for the weekend.

Roland cruised along the sidewalks and roads on his bicycle. His wheels made an audible whizzing sound as he sped down a large hill. It wasn’t long before he managed to get to the edge of town, near the dusty, vacant lot, where the carnival was being held. He skidded to a stop, dust drifting off his spokes and pitched his bike in the grass and clutched the fence that bordered the freak show.

Strange lights of every color flashed a neon glow from the numerous stalls and attractions. Big, floppy, tents were dotted all around the big lot. Roland could hear haunting carnival music playing, it reminded him of his grandmas piano organ, but somehow more sinister. He couldn’t see too many people around, a couple of teenagers here and there, maybe a family or two, but otherwise mostly empty. A pair of fat clowns sauntered about, their makeup was smudged and sweaty, and they had these horrible grins showing sharp, yellow teeth. He didn’t mind clowns, but these ones made him feel sick and concerned. Still, it did look pretty cool. In the distance he saw some fire-spitters and what appeared to be a sword swallower. A couple of carnival games were set up, and there were even some spooky rides. There was one of those ship-like things that swung you back and forth and flipped you upside and down. He could hear the sounds of some kind of shooting gallery, and spied a rusty ferris wheel that looked like no one had ridden it in years. But hell, why not give the freak show a chance?

He approached the turnstiles where a tall man in a black trench coat regarded him coldly. He had a dark beard and a cruel grimace on his face. Roland swallowed and managed to squeak out a few words.

“O-one, ticket please…” he said faintly.

Roland held out a handful of crumpled dollars and change toward the Tall Man. He simply looked down at the young boy and said nothing for a while. Until a cold, deep, voice growled: “Thirteen dollars pipsqueak.”

Damn…he only had maybe seven bucks at most. His hand shrunk away back into his pocket as Roland frowned. He really wanted to check it out and six measly dollars stood between him and the carnival. That and the huge Tall Man that guarded the entrance. Roland sighed and turned towards his bike near the chain link fence. All that riding and work for nothing! He spat bitterly at the ground and kicked a few upturned rocks. He paced around angrily for a few moments until he muttered a rebellious “fuck it!” and began to look for another way in. He did a small loop around the chain-link barrier until he found himself near the back of the dirt lot. There were more tents here, and a few trees and bushes pushed up against the fence. After some snooping, he found a small hole at the bottom of one area where the fence had been broken. It would be tight, but if he squirmed on his belly he could make it.

Roland wriggled under the fence, the sharp metal tearing couple of holes into his flannel button up. He managed through and as he stood up his gaze met the hectic, sprawling, expanse of the dark carnival.

Characters so far: Roland (empty) (empty) (empty etc.)

Immortal(No god mode/power play) NPCS: The Tall Man, (Unrevealed Baddie), (Unrevealed Baddie), (Unrevealed character)

Info: Think of this as a choose-your-own-adventure, horror style. Everyone participating will play a main character in a scary world, while Roland will continue to advance the plot and make scarier things happen to the group. There are a couple of unrevealed NPCs that people cannot hurt that will be part of the fear and "escape/hide" is better than fighting them!

Everyone can still contribute to the story though, create more NPCs, or just enjoy the carnival as they please. I'm just trying to keep this scary and filled with terror. Think of silent hill as things start to get freakier.
