The Bright Republic has seen better days. Power still flows and the machines still churn that make the grand technology of the Republic work. However, there are whispers that the nodes are breaking down and the powers that be have not the means to fix them any longer.

Now is a time of change in a land ruled in the name of democracy but clearly by the hands of the corrupt. Corporations, criminals and bureaucracy all squabble for power.
