Max gave a small nod as she sat with him and gave a heavy sigh as she kept him close "Shouldn't we try to find her body? They should be together." She explained kissing his cheek gently sighing softly cuddling him more

Charlie shivvered some as he was taken to the infirmary looking at Pedro gripping his hand tight "You find her....you find her and bring her home to me." He said through gritted teeth before he collapsed onto the bed

Pedro frowned but nodded, swallowing hard while he was trying to come to terms with the news, “Hey, we’ll bring her home, just get some rest okay?” He coaxed, leaving Danny to sort him out, walking away from hearing the mangled howls and yells being mixed together as his wolf mourned with him, heading out the back door and moving past Travis and Max. “I’m going to find her, I’m taking Josh and Harry.” He told him without question and walked away to find the other two.

Travis was about to answer her question when he heard Pedro speak and looked up, nodding at him “Call if anything happens.” He told him, standing with max and taking her inside and up to their room. “I’m sorry for earlier.” He mumbled, laying with her and holding her as close as he possibly could.

Max followed him up to the room and frowned at the cries coming from the infirmary. She lay with him and gave a heavy sigh nodding some "Its okay...I'm just trying to learn everything and be a good mate to you and a good member of the pack." She said quietly to him before she kissed him lovingly "I love you Travis."

He frowned and pullled back to look at her. “Max you aren’t an alpha female.... that’s the difference. You’re human, yes you’ve been changed but you will always be bitten not born and there’s no guarantee that our children will be wolves.” He explained. “So having you go against my every decision is making this even harder. Please... I need your support.” He told her gently, laying with her in the quiet all night, barely sleeping though and it seemed that he’d barely fallen asleep but five minutes ago when he woke up to the sun rising.

after searching all night they had finally found the place they’d been using as a hideout though it seemed they were long gone by now, finding carmens body in the basement under a dirty tarp had broken Pedro even more than he had expected it to but for now he had to take her home. Get her back to Charlie as they were expecting that by now he would be gone as well and they could be put to rest together. He lifted her bridal style and carried her the two miles home, getting back as the sun was rising and taking her straight to the infirmary, standing in the doorway for a moment, shocked to see that Charlie was still alive and more so that he seemed healthier than before. Not by much, but enough that it was a shock. “Here.” He mumbled, finally laying her next to him and stepped away to give him space, getting upstairs to go take a shower when he bumped into max. “Sorry.... we found her.” He told her and walked away after that.

Charlie stayed there in pain all night not sleeping at all. Once the sun had risen though he was feeling somewhat stronger than before but there was an emptieness inside of him. He looked over at Pedro as he came into the room "Thank you." He whispered before he left and whimpered quietly as he brushed some hair from her face

Max gave a small nod and sighed softly "Alright." She whispered before she fell into a light sleep. She woke up early that next morning and sighed softly as she got up and went downstairs to make coffee for the house. She looked at Pedro as she walked past him and gave a small nod "Let me know if you need anything okay?" She said quietly before he left

Travis pulled himself out of bed, going down to check up on his brother, opening the door and just stared at him surprised, walking in and shutting it softly behind him. “Hey.... we’ll organise a proper ceremony for tonight.” He promised him, standing to the side but watched him still in silence.

Danny made his way to the kitchen after a quick sleep, going to pour himself a large mug of coffee with three sugars, looking over at max. “Once the youngsters get over here and have had breakfast, they need to go for wood. We’ll need another pyre built.” He explained

Max gave a nod and sipped her drink "I'll make sure they do that." She said quietly giving a heavy sigh before running a hand through her hair just wanting this to calm down.

Charlie looked over at his brother and gave a small sigh "Mornin.." he whispered while he cleaned her up with a wet rag "No!" He said quickly when he talked about a burial "No I want to bury her...no pyre." He said quietly

He frowned some but nodded. “If that’s what you want.... Charlie... we can’t leave her in here all day.... we’re gonna have to move her to uh... to the storage shed.” He grimaced a little as the words came out but he wasn’t gonna lie to him, sendinf danny a message to let him know the change in plans.

danny walked back in shaking his head. “Change of plan. Tell them to grab shovels.They can ask Charlie where he wants it.... you okay?” He asked her, leaning on the counter as he really looked at her this time.

Max gave a small nod as she looked at Danny "Yeah....I'm uh...I'm okay." She said quietly shaking her head some "I'm guessing non-alpha's have to follow everything the alpha says correct? Even if its wrong?"

Charlie took a deep breath and gave a nod "Yeah I know, I'll take her in a few minutes. Just give me a minute alright?" He murmured not taking his eyes off of his mate.

He sighed and nodded, rubbing the back of his head. "If it's an order then yes... I know it's a pain in the ass but it's just the way things work, you can try to break it but you won't be able to." He told her, looking up when Travis came in for some coffee and he left them to privacy, going to sit in and keep an eye on Charlie, "I don't know how you're still alive but we're gonna keep you resting alright?" He coaxed.

Travis left his brother to it, going to sit with his own mate and just watched her "He wants to bury her... no pyre... I'm worried he's got some crazy idea in his head but I don't think now is the time to interrogate him." He muttered

Max looked at Travis as he came in and gave a small smile "Hey handsome goodmorning." She said softly giving a heavy sigh as he mentioned Charlie giving a nod "Yeah that sounds like a good idea." She said quietly

Charlie looked at Danny and took a deep breath holding Carmen close to him "Keep the grave shallow okay? Do that for me." He explained thinking she would be back and this was just a comatose state

He sighed quietly, gently pulling her in closer, burying his face into her shoulder, "I love you." He murmured tiredly.

Danny shook his head some "Charlie you know I can't do that... Come on, we need to move her." He coaxed gently, going to help him get up but frowned when he refused

Max gave a small nod and kissed the top of his head "I love you too." She whispered before running her fingers through his hair "You need a hair cut, or braid this." She murmured with a small laugh

Charlie growled some and shook his head at him "Not until you promise me a shallow grave for her!" He muttered holding her protectively to make sure Danny couldn't touch her

He frowned shaking his head "Charlie! I can't do that! She is dead and the last thing you should be doing is trying anything stupid to try and bring her back!" He snapped at him,, just trying to get some sense into him.

Travis nodded some. "You can do what you like with it." He told her quietly, kissing her gently and held her tightly in his arms. "Mmm... You're almost in heat." He murmured, kissing down her neck and shoulder

Charlie snapped and growled at him "She isn't dead damn it! Don't take her!" He yelled his wolf starting to come out

Max kissed him back and gave a small smile "Mmm how do you know?" She asked softly before she got him to turn around and she started to braid his hair "Does that mean I get to stay in bed with you for days while we try to make children?" She asked smirking some

Danny frowned and left the room for a minute, coming back with a couple of the others to hold him down while two of them moved her away and took her out the back near to where they would bury her later, the whole time Danny trying to calm him down, eventually giving up and grabbing a sedative out of his supply drawer, having them keep him down while he pushed it into him. “I’m sorry Charlie. Really I am but she is gone!” He told him firmly.

He chuckled quietly, picking at a bowl of fruit. “I think that sounds like a great plan.” He told her, tilting his head back and kissed her quickly before sitting straight again.

Max smiled softly and kissed him back before she started to finish up braiding his hair. She kissed his cheek and smirked some "And when the time comes,I will give you a son." She whispered in his ear before she got up and went to make breakfast frowning when she heard the commotion from upstairs

Charlie started to thrash against them trying to get away and get Carmen in his arms again. Though once Danny put the sedativebin his arm he started to collapse onto the bed and fall asleep.

Danny got down to the kitchen looking a little disheveled and sighed heavily. “He’s asleep and resting. He wouldn’t let us move her.... he thinks she’s still alive, I know that he’s not gone like we thought he would be.. Travis you can’t kick him out the pack in this state... he’s not in his right mind.” He told him seriously.

Travis had moved to sit up on the counter and watched Danny come in, frowning some. “Keep him on a tight leash. He’s not about to steal the position from me right now but I don’t want him going off on anybody... send the boys to get everything ready for tonight.” He told him and walked away.

Max frowned softly at Danny's news and gave a heavy sigh staying quiet while Travis went off to do whatever it is he needed to for the time being

Travis sighed heavily, going to take a walk, thinking about everything that had happened to bring them to this point, feeling frustrated and a little let down by max. He had wanted her to take over the alpha female position with no problem but it wasn’t happening and all the stress was making his own transition hard as well, eventually making it back to the house late in the afternoon and went to lay on the couch, picking at the bowl of snacks in front of him.

-4 weeks-
Max sat at the house watching the pack train out back smiling some at Travis. She thought her progression had been going well into trying to be the alpha female. She had grown to know everyone there and they all seemed to really like her as well. Her heat had just passed and she was finally out of their room. Travis had kept her in there the entire time which she had no issue with but she was happy to be out seeing everyone.

Charlie stood outside leaning against the door frame as he watched everyone train out back. He was still as strong as he could be without his mate and it almost felt as though she wasn't gone right now. He sighed some before he pushed himself to stand up straight when he heard a knock at the door. He had been very distant from everyone since they had buried her and really hadn't spoke to anyone.

Pedro stepped out after making sure he wasn’t going to knock Charlie over, sitting at one of the tables and frowned some. “I asked around some more... no one knows where he’s gone, up and vanished.” He told him as he’d been out searching for Diego since the day it happened. “I did speak to a member of the council though... they’re aware he’s been on the run for years and they have him on their books as dangerous... he can’t get any help from them.” He told him, fidgeting with his hands some while he spoke.

Travis stepped back grinning as one of the youngsters had almost got an upper hand on him. “Keep practicing.” He told him, heading back into the house using a different door to the one Charlie was at and went to find max. “You can stand again?” He teased, lifting her up anyway, gripping her thighs to hold her up against the wall. “Mmm...c care to join me for a shower?” He asked her.

Charlie sighed heavily and gave a small nod shaking his head a bit "I will kill him when we find him." He growled. He and Pedro had become quite close since everything and if Charlie spoke to anyone it was Pedro "Something is different....she doesn't feel as gone anymore...the pain is barely there."

Max laughed lightly and kissed him lovingly letting a hand run down his bare chest "Mmm I would like that a lot." She murmured tugging at his bottom lip some "You sure heat only lasts for a week?" She teased

He chuckled and nodded, kissing her back. "You've just been blessed... with a very handsome mate." He chuckled, taking her up to their room and got the shower running.

Pedro just frowned but nodded "I can't help you there... I never found my mate." He muttered, getting up to go get something to eat, looking up to find Charlie had wandered off in the direction of her grave to go talk to her like he did most of the day.

Max gave a small laugh and held onto him as he carried her up to the room "Mmm that I was." She murmured before she got in with him watching his muscles relax under the water "The youngsters are coming along very well. You're training them good."

Charlie gave a small nod and sighed heavily before he got up to go see Carmen. He sighed heavily as he walked out to her favorite spot knowing she would be happy to be there.
