Something's definitely strange since there's a 98.67 percent chance you were dead up until a second ago. It's not the first thought you have when you wake up, but it's the first coherent one. But that's great, isn't it? Not only is your heart beating and your lungs breathing again, but you're not even brain dead after being dead for who knows how long. Now... the only problem is getting out of your tomb(? If you've even been dead long enough to be buried that is) without drawing too much attention to yourself.
What next?
After being dead for varying amounts of time, a group of people came back to life. The way they died varied: recent murder, not so recent murder, suicide, health issues, accidents, horrible deaths, peaceful ones. The places they woke up were different as well: buried in graves, inside a medical examiner's office, in a med school's locker of yet-to-be-studied cadavers, where their body had still yet to be found, even preserved in a cryo chamber. None of that mattered though because they were all alive and in good health. Better than good actually... more like perfect.
They lied awake where they were for moments (minutes? Hours?) until they settled on the decision to get the hell out of there. They didn't know what was going on, maybe they didn't even know they'd been dead, but they still remembered themselves. Their humanity. They knew they had to get out, the air would run out if they didn't. Before they did a thing, they found themselves helped out by a woman who looked serene and beautiful but had the air of being able to kill them all again without getting a hair out of place.
After a quick once over and a fleeting smirk, she introduced herself as Miss Bonheur of Alchimie. Bonheur handed each of them pristine white business cards and left with the fading click of her heels regardless of what the ground was made out of and the pendulum swing of her black umbrella.
When they inevitably looked at the card, all that was printed on it was:
Alchimie
Death lies Dormant as the Fountain is Consumed
The search ends as quick as it starts
Seek the gilded serpent's scales
Upon receiving your hearts
That's what's next
Well, you got through that... whatever it is I just wrote. I assure you it is not pure BS I just thought up. I actually have a plot and everything for it. Now, it's going to be a detailed roleplay and because of that, I do expect a minimum of one nicely written paragraph. Is that too much to ask? I really hope not. As for posting frequency, I want to say about once a week. Every person (for now) has a two character limit.
Now with the FAQs gotten out of the way, I will say this. I, le GM, will be controlling the world and many or all of the NPCs. I will not be one of the recently reborn characters. We'll see how this works out then, won't we?
As for the characters: you have near free reign with them. The futuristic part of the roleplay will come into play later so create your characters as you would for a realistic roleplay. What I want from you and your characters is this: variety and fun ideas. I want someone who died in the 1920s to come back to life in 2015, someone rich and eccentric who wanted their body put in a cryo chamber (yes, I really just want a character waking up in one of those), normal people who died peacefully and normally, murderers and criminals who went out with a bang, I want whatever crazy ideas you can think of.
