bootleg narnia

Ginko

desperate, unloved butler
so a couple of kids are at a highschool for children with superpowers, they go through a wardrobe like in narnia and end up in a place where the fight for land grants and at the end of the day go back to the dorm to do schoolwork and act like the horrible teenage gremlins they are

rp with @Bagel and Nico

Characters:

Konani wiped sweat from her brow, satisfied. She had just finished moving in to her new dorm! Luckily, the school wasn't populated enough for kids to share rooms- if it was, where would her 7 foot tall 5 foot wide bookshelf dedicated entirely to figures of her favorite anime characters go? Admiring her handiwork, she exited her room to get a bottle of water or something, but on the way out, she slipped on what looked like a tupperware container lid and went flying backward, landing on her back in the doorway.

((ok i havent paragraph rped in forever, haha thanks twitter rp, so i might be rusty))

He gripped a map of the school's interior and let out a breath. While adjusting his earbuds, he looked up and read the dorm number. Leo knew that this had to be the room. He had been searching for it for almost 30 minutes, exploring the many winding hallways of the building. Eventually, though, he realized that he had been holding the map upside down. It was just too early in the morning.

As he stepped forward to enter, his foot hit something. He looked down and saw that he had softly kicked a girl lying on her back, next to her a tupperware lid. He raised a brow. Leo didn't know what to think of this. Perhaps it could've been this person's power or something, so he decided not to comment on it.

Taking out an earbud, he opened his mouth, "...Excuse me, but are you, by any chance, my roommate?" he said, almost nonchalantly. Leo took notice of the room he was going to reside in for the school year. There was furniture already set up, but it didn't look like there was enough space to house more than one person. He wondered if that's just how things were set up? Or something?

Owowowow!! Owie! Konani had pretty decent reflexes, but that lid was not there when she got there.

"Hey, pigtails!" She started, looking up at the kid who literally kicked her while she was down. "Did you lose a container lid or something?"

Konani had been too busy contemplating the origin of the tupperware to hear anything he said other than the word "roommate", which she decided to ignore because there's absolutely no way she could have one, right?

Pigtails... He touched his tied up hair.

"No? I just arrived here and you were just..." Leo motioned to the ground, "...on the floor...next to the lid"

"Oh, cool." She replied, standing up. "Welcome to my room, I guess. Also, what were you saying earlier? I didn't hear you."

Leo watched as she stood up. He guessed she was okay?

"I asked if you were going to room with me...? This is the dorm I was assigned to. Well, at least according to the schedule I have here" he held up a piece of paper.

Konani looked at the paper. Then she looked at the room she'd covered wall to wall with her stuff.

"Oh... I didn't- I didn't know we got roommates." she started. "Do you wanna... help me take apart an ikea shelf?"

Luckily, she had left most of her figures at home! She was too lazy to pack them all. But she had brought, like, six, and the rest of it was video games, which she could just shove under her bed.

He took another look at the room. "All this stuff is yours?" He placed his hand on his chin and examined inside. Leo could tell that whoever this girl was, she was really into video games and cartoons. Not that he had a problem with it, just that he had never really taken an interest to it. There were tons of posters, though, and he'd have to take them all down. He turned to face her.

"I can see you're pretty devoted to your interests" Leo didn't hesitate when he entered the room. "Let's start rearranging your stuff before I move mine in."

"Thanks! There's a dumpster outside our window, isn't that cool? We can just... throw things out of it." Konani then proceeded to chuck six empty(?) boxes out the window, hoping she didn't hit anyone.

"What's your name, by the way?"

He lifted some boxes. "Leo" he replied, not looking at her. He tossed them out into the dumpster and proceeded to organize some more things. "Yours?"

It took him absolute ages to get to his room. It was his room, right? The door was left ajar and it seems there were already some people inside. Lovel was only trying to find his way through the dorms, though couldn't help but get caught up with other fellow students, supposedly asking for his number and such. As if that wasn't enough. The poor blonde had had plenty of incidents this morning, from spilling tea on his favorite sweater to missing his bus onto campus. Nonetheless, he had plenty of luggage on his hands to carry as well.

As if he could leave home without his closet and vanity.

A soft sigh flutters through his lips as he knocks on the open door, peeking his head in.

"U-Uhm, hello...? I think this is my room..."

His voice is a bit meek and sheepish, his tall and lanky physique trying to hide behind the door frame.

"Mine's Konani!" she said to Leo. Hearing the voice of another potential roommate, she threw herself out the window.

((I'll shout things from the trash can when I can reply go on without me))

As Leo was opening his mouth to reply to her, he saw Konani jump out the window.

"....???"

He walked over to see where she landed, and saw that she had landed safely in the dumpster as there were boxes they had previously thrown out.

"Uh-"

before he could ask why she literally leaped out of the building, he noticed someone was at the door and Leo turned around to see them. They were quite tall, he noticed, and they seemed to be carrying luggage. He assumed this was another roommate. Leaning on the window sill, he raised a hand in a greeting manner and said, "I'm assuming you're going to room with us. As you can see, we have some organizing to do" he gestured to the numerous boxes that were placed around the room. "The other roommate just threw herself out the window, if you're wondering" he casually said, as if that was the least of his worries right now.

Konani realized one of the boxes that she had thrown out the window was filled with anime DVDs, and had cracked after breaking her fall. "NOOOOOOO MY ANIMES!!" She cried, loud enough for anyone with their windows open to hear.

A squeak of surprise is what comes from the blonde as one of the people in the room just launches herself out of the window, dropping one of many suitcases on his foot. A little click went off in his head.

"Ow...! That fucking hurt, you damn clutz!"

Click.

"I didn't mean to! She just...rocketed herself out of the room!"

At this point, Lovel was already in the center of the room, having to rush in once the girl had leaped out of the room to make sure she was okay. However, in his fit of worry, it seems like the other person in the room seems to be...rather collected about the fact that someone had just jumped out the window? Or maybe he wasn't all that worried?

"R-Roommates...? I thought students had their own separate rooms..."

Lovel was told that students would have their own individuals rooms...right? Maybe he read the pamphlet wrong...

Click.

"Damn idiot, it's a fucking co-ed dorm and it says roommates right there in bold words, you blind rat." Click.

"Leave me alone, I was reading it on the bus at three in the morning!"

Oh, well. What could possibly go wrong with roommates?

"Well, if we're going to be roommates, I'm Lovel!"

The softest and most amiable smile graces his expression, upper lip touching his nose ring and eyes that crinkled into warm and sweet crescents, a hand reached out for a hand shake.

Leo watched as the person at the door dropped their luggage directly on their foot, causing them to...suddenly curse and insult themselves? That was a bit weird, he noted. But his roommate whom he had met only a few minutes ago had just thrown herself out the window, so not the weirdest thing that's happened today. However, he also witnessed the new person start arguing something about dorms with themselves. Now that was weird. He didn't want to directly question it though, and as soon as they were done with their little 'quarrel', Leo saw his new roommate offer his hand to greet him and he grabbed and lightly shook it in return, facial expression unchanged. "...Name's Leo", he said, albeit in a slightly hushed tone as he was confused from the new kid's little 'scene'.

Konani wondered if there was anything else in the boxes they had chucked out the window. She decided to go dumpster diving.

"Oh, your hands are really dry. Do you use lotion on them? Your nails are pretty wonky too...the cuticles are just all dried and cracked!"

The blonde takes both of Leo's hands into his own, running a thumb over the nails and pouting, seemingly upset at the lack of care that went into them. Compared to his manicured and painted nails (today, they're a nice minty green), it makes Lovel want to put down all of his things just so he could give the other a miniature spa visit to take care of the dry skin and cracked cuticles.

Click.

"Lovel, you brat, let him go, he's uncomfortable."

He pulled his hands back and put one into his pocket, the other scratching the back of his neck. Sighing, the neat and upright posture the blonde had slouched into a rather unbecoming stance that did not quite match the high-end fashion he was in. He put the rest of his things down and clicks his tongue.

"Why the hell is there so much shit everywhere? Was it the other roommate's fault? Thought this place was supposed to be unfurnished save for beds or some shit. Pamphlet was damn misleading."

Click.

"Stop it, you're being rude! And don't call me a brat! What did you even expect, it's just a school dorm!"

The proper posture returns and so does the pout. Lovel crosses his arms and stomps his foot a bit, almost like a child and huffs.

"Sorry! It's still morning, so things kind of get cranky with me...but anyways, you said we had stuff to do?"

Lovel apologizes, as if this was a regular occurrence, lightly chuckling and scratching the back of his head.

"Shouldn't we check up on that girl who threw herself out the window first though...?"

When he heard the comment from the other about his lack of care put into his hands or whatever, he simply shrugged. Leo couldn't care enough to diligently put lots of attention into that. However, as Lovel was musing about his hands, his face suddenly contorted into a more sour looking expression. Then, Lovel jerked his hand from Leo's and started going on about how uncomfortable he made Leo feel or something of the sort, and criticized the current condition of their room. For some reason, he had a different aura around him, Leo noted. He became a bit more sloppy and his speech was a bit more careless and slightly slurred. As soon as he was about to explain why the room was disorderly right now, he noticed Lovel's face and posture flicker back to his peppier self. Leo blinked. Something was up with his new roommate. He started to space out and wonder why Lovel acted like this before he heard him worrying about Konani.

"Ah, yeah, we probably should..." Leo answered, just remembering that she had done that earlier.

'Great, look at what you've done now. He probably thinks we're weird or something. Good going, hairspray-brains.'

'Hey, don't call me that! It was your fault for popping up out of nowhere and spouting your bullshit like always!'

Lovel huffs a bit before turning his attention back to Leo. The other seemed very calm...? About the situation? Or perhaps he has just seen it all and is unphased at the girl tossing herself out the window. Maybe it was just the lack of care. Would make sense with what shape his skin and nails were in. Maybe his eating habits were worse.

"Do you know why she just-"

Click.

"-catapulted herself out the goddamn window like a blind bird? Don't think the two of you were talking about anything too important when we got here. But you are teenagers, who knows, you could have been chatting up a pretty se-"

Click.

"Serious! Serious conversation! I was trying to say serious and not be rude."

The blonde somewhat directs the last of his words to himself as if chastisement, posture and dialect shifting rather drastically as well as quickly. Lovel seemed to have his hands full with...himself. At the moment, that is. But he quickly sets issues aside and returns to his worry for the other girl. They weren't too high up in the dorms, so she probably couldn't have gotten a fatal injury. But perhaps a small fracture or sprain would be possible.

Konani had accepted the trash can as her home, but she knew... she knew she had to continue on her quest. To clear room space for her new roommates. She hopped out of the dumpster, planting her newly Crocs®-clad feet. She had found them at the bottom of the trash, next to a door. Maybe she'd check it out next time she went dumpster diving. Maybe she could go dumpster diving with her new roommates as a bonding or team-building activity? Either way, Konani was too lazy to walk ALL the way to the entrance of the building and ALL the way up the stairs to the room, so she decided to rock climb her way up the building back to the window. The bricks on the outside of the building were pretty loose.

"Hey guys, sorry, don't know what came over me!" Admittedly, she smelled like shit.

"Anyway, yeah! Nice to meet you! What's your name, new guy?"
