Book 1A: The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Unopened Scrolls) [Incarnadine Waters]

Rey watches as the others begin to gather their belongings for departure. She felt she should bring up a few points. Clearing her throat to gather the attentions of her allies, "I want to point out that the prophecy identified that the securing of these three manses, was the objective, and the people are simply the obstacles involved." Cupping her jaw in her hand she paced back and forth as she began her assertation of possible resources.

Rey begins her deductions, "Leafar, the Earth Dragon who maintains control of the manse in question is allied with necromancers in some fashion. He is acting heavily out of standard with him, though that may be in response to the coming of Thorns as well. He has accepted assistance from a deathknight or deathlord in opposition of Mask of Winters. He has no other options, what we may be able to do is offer him an option that removes working with the deathlords all together. Having a well established Earth dragon ally would be of great assistance. Especially when it comes to holding such a site when surrounded by hostile forces."

"Eloran, another possible ally and a charismatic one at that, sounds as though he is Celestial exalted as well, though not necessary if he is adequately experienced as a leader. We should make contact soon and see where he stands as far as our endeavors are concerned."

"Lady of the White Chains will be an opportunity objective, we should deal carefully with this one, though I do not foresee a reason to put us in the Underworld anytime soon. We are not to actively seek this one out, but if the opportunity to deal with or destroy as needed arises, we should take it."

"Queen Silver Blood, Chazkazar, and the Pirates should all be dealt with in time, and probably in that order. Though for the moment only as direct threats to our purpose will we deal with them. Once the manse is secure, we will have a staging area and the technological advancement of the herbological manse as well."

Rey awaited the opposition that was bound to rise against her as she spoke of siding with sympathizers of undead, and asked that the great Solars delay striking against the forces of darkness. In an effort to stabilize and strengthen their position.

Smoldering black eyes gazed at the Eclipse, but Twice-Blessed Kenina did not speak out against her. Her packing was done quite fast, as she had no use for material possessions, beyond the few she already carried.

Nazir

Nazir, meanwhile, was already packed. He had nothing, save what he carried, always on the move. However, he was unfamiliar with a horse, never having ridden another animal in his life. Hopping up into the saddle, swinging his legs over the side, he found it surprisingly easy at first. However, getting along with animals was not difficult. Telling them to do things was another matter...

"Treating these people as merely obstacles to be overcome understates the evil they commit." Although normally quiet and gentle in his tone, in regards to evil there is a resoluteness that radiates within his voice. "If we must put off toppling these evils, so be it, but they must be attended to eventually." He adds. As a Night Caste, a big part of Nazir understands patience and stealth. He also understands, however, that evil must be brought into the light if it is to be dealt with...

(I assume we're outside still, so mounting up and talking is no issue. If it is, assume he said that before leaving to do so)

Beneficent River doesn't even spare Rey a glance, "your suggestion will prove to be our downfall. We cannot work with their evil, not even if you bind them to our service."

"I meant nothing about dealing with the necromancers, just the Dragon who is teamed with them. To break the deal by offering him options he had not before. There is no dealing with those not of Creation, for they live by a mindset we cannot understand or deal with. They may feel they are in the right, though commit by what we call the most heinous of crimes just because they are sympathizing with ancestors who are long gone and have little to do with the current world, or even feel that the beauty of the world should be shifted and changed to something more appealing to them without the concern for that which she changes. We should not try to deal with them, as long as they stay where they belong we need not deal with them at all, but when they stray to our domains, such as Creation, then we must push them from our grounds using all means available. By social agreement, or blade, or forced servitude, as the great evils of the past were done so and the demons were enslaved as lessers of our predecessors and servitors of the vanquishers." Rey's vehemence rises enough to color the words with just a hair of passion, fatigued as she was by the days activities and having to justify the demons that she bound, and the very hostilities of those she cared to join to the same cause. "These glowers and snippish comments, which are all something we can control or should be able to," Rey continues in a calm and educational tone as if offering a lecture in kata forms. "Offer nothing more than tension to a party that faces more than enough problems from outside. If you feel you need to make your feelings heard make them, and move on so that we may all understand and come to an agreement, but to nip at each others heels as we prepare for threats like deathknights, necromancers, and nephwracks, is not only partitioning our attention, but undermining our strength and offering up great and glorious holes for our enemies to field attacks against us."

Nazir

"That is not what I argue against. Ignoring the other evils is. We can put them aside for a time but we must someday address them. I do not disagree with your suggestion of turning an enemy into an ally, I agree with this, but to turn a blind eye to others..." He trails off, clearly needing to say nothing more."Let us start on our journey."
