Khaoul

Khaoul's smile widened considerably into a grin, revealing a row of large incisor teeth that formed an array of enamel spikes. Taking her hand, he lifted her up so that he was carrying her under one arm like a log. Bending his knees slightly, Khaoul built up some power in his legs momentarily before-

BOOM!

A resounding explosion of noise would be heard by all those nearby, seemingly a little delayed in comparison to the speed at which Khaoul had jumped almost completely vertically, having broken the sound barrier through sheer strength. It was necessary to leave the area as it was possible the other High Demons were looking for him, however unlikely that was. The two rose up and up into the air until their momentum gradually slowed to a stop. They hung there for a brief moment, held in suspension backlit with the beautiful view of the city from high above. Clouds dotted the sky around them, quite a few actually level with their altitude, and several geese flew by.

"It is pleasing to see your conviction. I'd like to see more of it."

Wings sprouted from the High Demon's back, rouge leathery extensions that seemed way too muscled for any normal creature. They flapped routinely to keep their height and the two hovered, flying off in the direction to the nearest large body of water. Khaoul's grin returned, a pleased expression of determined excitement painting his satanic face. It was time for the first test, his eyes lit up with anticipation. With little to no warning, Khaoul dropped his supposed bonded mercilessly, allowing her to fall from his grasp. With their current location, there was deep water below but they were too high up. She would hit that water as if it were solid cement and explode into viscera and gore. Did Khaoul have a plan, or was he actually just trying to kill her? As she fell, she'd hear him call out to her, followed with thunderous laughter:

"Your first trial: survive!"

Nekoda watched half in awe and half in horror as her supposed bonded picked her up under his arm like a log, flying over a large body of water.

He's going to drop me isn't he? She glanced down. At this height I'll need a miracle to survive. Once I hit I'll splat.

Nekoda racked her brain trying to think of any possible way to survive.

As she was collecting her thoughts she felt his grip loosen and she tumbled from his arm. "First trial: survive!!!!" He yelled followed by laughter. She had to wonder as she fell if all the demons were this insane when it came to the trials or if it was just her luck.

Nekoda not knowing what else to do as she soared threw the air took in as much air as she could - not bothering to call out for help. That would make her appear weak.

Nekoda did her best not to panic but what could she do? The insane high demon seemed dead set on killing her - her heart was pounding in her chest as she continued to plummet.

How in the hell am i suppose to survive? I'm fucking human. I have no wings, I can't fly and this high demon won't save me - would he?

Lisa again followed her, smiling at the compliment that was given, and sat down next to her bed with her "What is it?" She asked, peeking up through the window. All she could see were a few Demons... What did Athena see?

Leona

Leo nodded in reply. She was quite pleased that the demon was taking it well, especially since she'd just kind of sprung it on her like that. "So... Do you have a favourite animal? I promise I won't be offended if it's not cats."

((I'm really super sorry. I was going to give it a bit for more posts and then I forgot and I feel really bad and I'm so sorry! DX ))

"My favorite animal? Hmm..." Lixa replied, thinking for a moment. What was her favorite animal? It had been so long since she really thought about it. After some silent consideration, she decided on one "I like wolves. They hunt in packs and are usually associated with the moon, which I also like."

Leona smiled at the other's response. "Wolves rank highly on my list as well." Unsure of what to say next, the teenager looked away from Lixa to see that they were almost to her apartment. "I hope you don't mind the mess. I wasn't really prepared for visitors..." When Leo said mess, she really just referred to the art supplies taking up the tables and a few glasses in the kitchen sink. And of course, the cat toys that never stayed in the small box she'd put them in for long.

"Trust me, no matter what it is, I've seen worse." Lixa replied, smiling at her. Which, really, she figured was true enough. There was one guy she visited, way back when she was still studying her abilities, and he-... No, she probably shouldn't finish that thought. Best to just forget about it and move on. She continued to smile at Leo as they approached her apartment.

Leo returned the smile as she led the way up the steps to the building. Part of her mentally noted that she seemed to be doing a lot of smiling today, but she just ignored that in favour of spending time getting to know Lixa.

The building itself was rather simple, reddish-brown brick with windows spaced evenly around the perimiter on the three levels. She lived on the second floor in a one-bedroom apartment with her cat. Leo had moved out of her parents' home when she was sixteen, having decided she wanted to finish her high school education elsewhere.

"Well, um... Welcome to my home... I guess..." Eloquently put, Summers.

Azerael

Seeing the momentary flash of horror in her eyes was a blow to the chest. Sure, he had expected the reaction. But after talking about how beautiful various forms of demons could be, Azerael would be lying if he hadn't hoped she would be different. Still, she hadn't chased him out yet. That was progress.
He was still lost in thought until her chime of laughter snapped him out of things. Robin seemed happy? She left the room for some reason but came back carrying a soft blue towel, slipping it under his arm.
"Sorry for scaring you earlier, but I did sort of warn you it wasn't pretty." not like she was. He furrowed his brow and focused on her as she turned away once again to head into the kitchen. What was with him today? He reached up to pinch his own cheek to try and snap out of it.

"Something that isn't too messy would probably be best on your apartment's sake. I....need to feed all of my mouths. Not just the one talking to you. Hence the snap decision to take you up on the offer of privacy for today. They don't always get so...excited. Usually after properly feeding things calm down for a couple of days."

Kaylie

Kaylie felt heat rise to her cheeks, as if being caught doing something she shouldn't have been. "You could say that. I'm more focused on the clothes but the subject is important whenever you design for someone specific so I need a good base." There was no easy way to tell someone you'd met today that you were drawing them while they sat right next to you. Well, maybe there was, but not one that she was managing at the moment.

She had a lot of friendly acquaintances, but no friends who were quite this close with her. The feeling of someone leaned against her made her incredibly conscious of every movement her body made.

"Do emotions have a taste? Or is there one that you like more? Or at least makes you feel more satisfied?" The vampire comment had amused her, but she'd been so shocked by the contact that she felt herself struggling to get back on track. It wasn't Qinu's fault, he probably was way used to it with how bubbly he seemed.

“No, I was careless,” Robin insisted. “I had suspicions of something being under your sleeve and tried reaching for it anyway.” The thought of almost losing her finger was what terrified her. She made a mental note to distance herself from the mouths when they were out in the open for the sake of her safety, though it still made her feel guilty. She was avoiding an integral part of him.

She grabbed the tray of salmon she had bought yesterday out of the fridge and placed it on the counter. With his nonspecific response, the girl assumed that Azerael wasn’t terribly picky. She walked to a nearby cabinet, took out some seasoning, and went to work preparing the fish. Of course, she washed her hands first. “That’s incredibly interesting,” Robin finally replied. “Can you tell me more about your arm?” Many questions came to her, but her curiosity led her to ask that one first. She hoped he was interested in learning more about her too.

Despite her trepidation, Robin still continued to ask him questions. Unable to tear his gaze away from her, he decided to satisfy some of that curiosity.

"Well, I did mention that I'm a hunger demon. I embody hunger in it's entirety. It's different than the cardinal sin of gluttony, which eats in excess for a sake of satisfaction. I...represent the feeling of never being fulfilled. The hunger that eats at your stomach and at your mind until it's all that consumes you." he chuckled at the play on words before moving to sit nearer the young woman, bringing the towel in case she wanted to keep her surfaces clean. "The mouths need to feed to stave off some of that hunger. If they aren't fed, the hunger could drive me insane to the point of consuming whatever is the closest source of flesh. Whether that be animal, human or demon. So I feel like staying on top of the feeding process is worth it. Wouldn't you say?"

He leaned forward against her countertop, licking his lips absentmindedly. "So do you like cooking then? Or am I just lucky~?" he found a smirk making its way across his features. It had been a while since someone had gone out of their way for him, especially someone who seemed to want very little in return.

QINU

i solemnly swear that
i am up to no good

Qinu laughed. "So, you are designing for 'someone specific', huh?" Despite his pushing inquiry, he didn't glance down again. Kaylie seemed flustered at the idea of having him look at what she's drawing right now.

Qinu could feel Kaylie's body kind of stiffen when he leaned on her, so he pulled away as she asked about how emotions taste, which-- to be quite honest-- had taken him aback. Nobody, not a human nor a demon-- has ever asked that question. He never really thought of it. "Well, everyone has a different 'taste' to me," he said with a thoughtful expression, but eventually his lips curl again into a mischievous, almost devilish, smirk as he licked his lips. "That said, should I see how you 'taste'?" he responded before abruptly bringing his face near Kaylie's, cupping his cool hands around her warm cheeks. They were so close, in fact, that any more movement between the two of them, and their lips would meet.

The proximity between Qinu and Kaylie was unnecessary-- he knew; he didn't have to be so close to feed off of someone's emotions-- but he simply liked seeing surprised faces of humans. However, his curiosity of how Kaylie "tasted" was fully genuine.

Lixa looked around at the apartment, nodding "It's a nice place." She told her, walking over to sit down on the couch. It wasn't anything extravagant - But that was to be expected, even most modern mansions paled in comparison to some of the castles and palaces she'd spent nights at in the past, in her opinion. Still, cozy homes had their own charm to them as well "How long've you lived here for?"

Ocean123 Ocean123

The human motioned towards the vacant seat, and he swept through the table to ‘sit’ down. Being made of gascious shadow, Renyx didn’t feel any difference, but he would humour his companion if only for politeness.

“Your arm,” He said. “It is autonomous, I see. Explain to me the nature of the device and how it came to be.”

The metallic limb weakly reflected some light and Renyx found himself fascinated by it. Had evolution taken this much of an affect on their species? He would find out. Too distracted by the contraption, he remembered his courtesy.

“Um, please. Also, my name is Renyx.” He blurted out.

Lack of politeness, He thought. And complete abandonment of literary structure.

Idiot.

Robin glanced up at Azerael, who was now sitting on a bar stool across from her. “I’m just glad there’s a way to calm them down for a bit. It looks like they can cause you pain sometimes.” She thought back to her sketch of him and wondered if that pain was physical, mental, or both. She decided against asking more about his arm for now.

She giggled at the demon’s playfulness. “I love cooking. It’s very calming to me. I don’t stress-bake or anything like that, though.” She smiled, thinking of a couple of her friends. As she placed the salmon, now in a baking dish, into the oven, she continued. “My friend Natalie is in a band, and I make them food for after their gigs.” She struck one of those “superhero” poses with her head tilted upward and her hands in fists on her hips. “I’ve earned the title of ‘Band Mom’ with all my hard work,” Robin declared. She could hardly contain her laughter to finish her next statement. “You’re lucky to have someone like me making you food.” Her hand met her face in embarrassment, as she laughed. She wasn’t sure how Azerael would react to her goofiness. When she caught her breath, she took a seat on the stool next to his.

He found himself smiling at her infectious attitude, silver eyes glancing her way. "And you're lucky I don't eat you up, so I'd say we're doing pretty good." He would never eat her of course, but he felt comfortable enough that he could tease her a little. "You seem a little young to be a mom, but it seems like you have some good friends."

The smell of food began to reach his nose as the dish was starting to warm in the oven. It would probably take a while to cook, but the company would be able to take his mind off of his hunger a bit. He drummed his fingers over the counter's surface, falling into a few seconds of pleasurable silence. Only the sound of their breathing and the sizzling sound of flesh being cooked nearby to fill the air.

"So...you mentioned dreaming about me. I'm not sure that's the same for everyone who bonds to a demon. Are you sure you're picking the right guy? Not that I'm opposed of course." If anything, she seemed easy to get along with. And if sticking around Robin meant his own power and vitality would increase, he wasn't about to turn down her wishes.

Kaylie
The initial touch startled her, but she remained unmoved, facing Qinu head on. Their noses brushed together in their proximity but it was all she could do, to stare into his eyes. "What do you do to taste people? Y-you said you feed on their emotions, right? Is it through contact like this then?" Her cheeks were flushed and she was certain that he could feel the heat through the palm of his hands. Still, it felt as though she was being tested. And she wasn't going to back down.

After a second of sitting in that position, her face betrayed her nervousness and her hands cupped over the pale ones on her cheeks. Warmth covering cold. Though whether his hands were always cold, or she was just especially warm, she wasn't sure. Still, there was something comforting about his presence. Despite his clear cunning there was an overwhelming feeling of safety in his presence. Whether this was some 'destiny' or because he was a nice person, she wasn't sure.

Leaning even closer forward, Kaylie pushed her forehead against Qinu's, closing her eyes. "I wonder...you talk about others as if you don't care what they think of you. Aren't you lonely?" This could have been her misreading him. Or perhaps her own feelings of loneliness amongst a sea of people whose smiles were only skin deep had colored her own thinking. Still, if she could comfort the person in front of her any way, she felt that she'd be willing to do so. A smile crept back onto her features as she relaxed in his grasp. "Or perhaps you're just comforting me instead..." she whispered to herself, unaware she'd spoken her last thoughts out loud.
