Great! So I'll lay out some things for you to read through!

1.) Would you like to use an OC or not? I'm perfectly fine with doubling up, or if you would just like to play Zoro! Either works for me~
2.) Would you like to follow the One Piece storyline, or would you prefer to do an AU?
If yes to the AU, here are a few that I'd be interested in doing with Zoro and Julia (my gal):
Pirate Hunter Poltergeist:.
On a trip she did not think she was taking to the Bahamas, Julia, a young female of relatively normal background , is lamenting (and also loving) being dragged around by her best friend Nico Robin as she searches for lost pieces of history. After dealing with a bad break up with a clingy boyfriend, Robin thinks it's about time that her friend actually had an adventure. She is currently searching for the remnants of a lost civilization that she believes is somewhere in the Caribbean, and Julia is brought along for the ride with Robin's weird team--a crazy chef who reminds her too much of her ex, a navigator obsessed with cash, a boatright who looks like he could knock out Mayweather with a flick, a small (is that a kid?) doctor, a pervy musician (he's a friend of someone's, she hopes) an eccentric captain and his brother. On a small island , a mysterious woman gives her three gold earrings as a gift, saying that they were meant to be held in her hands. Little does she know, that a restless spirit is tied to these earrings, and she is horrified to find that she's being haunted by none other than the more than 100 year old spirit, Roronoa Zoro! Apparently he was tricked out of his body by Davey Jones and has been searching the sea for the Flying Dutchman in order to get his body back. Not only does she have to deal with a ghost, but Robin's former boss, Crocodile, seems to be encroaching on their archeological find, and... he seems to have discovered some magical artifacts as well. In this crazy AU, what could possibly go wrong?
House Trained:.
Kind of based off a fanfic I read somewhere, this one is a Werewolf AU! When she went to the animal shelter, she had expected to come back with a companion--someone who would get excited when she came home from work. A loyal friend who would cuddle with her by the fire, and sleep on top of her despite her protests. Little did she know that she'd get all that... and a full grown man as well. Zoro, after fighting in a rather terrible border dispute with the Vampires (literally any OP villain we want--I typically use Crocodile, Doflamingo or even just Bellamy), was trapped in his canine form until he could heal, but was captured by the pound before he could do so. That's where Julia found him, adopted him, nursed him back to health and then was shook surprised to find, one morning, a full grown man sleeping in her bed. Needless to say she only made him mildly annoyed when she smacked him with the bat she had hidden under her bed. He thanks her for her hospitality and for nursing him back to health, but when he attempts to leave, it becomes clear that by affiliation, Julia is now a target for the Vampires who want nothing more than all of the werewolves dead.
I have other various AU's and ideas that can be found here~
3.) Of course, I'll repeat what I put on my search thread here, as far as starting points go for if we follow the main storyline of the show~. I would like for my character's appearance to be either with Coby and Luffy right before Shells Town (captain Morgan/zoro's appearance), or appearing with Luffy, Sanji and Yosaku right before the Arlong arc, and the latest being in Loguetown.
4.) Anything else I need to know about you, etc.?
And here is my lovely OC~
Julia.png
Name:. Julia Tsukiomi
Age:. Roughly 19? at the beginning (Zoro is 19 at the beginning, if I remember correctly)
Gender:. Female

Bio:.
Julia was born and raised on the Grand Line in a tribe of demons—specifically Oni, or Ogres. Oni have horns and some rarer breeds have Bat wings, and in their truest forms their skins are deeply saturated colors varied to the different tribes they hail from. They typically stick to their human forms though, as the demon forms tend to wear out their energy much quicker, so theres a time limit to it. Also, depending on their tribe’s colors: blue, red, or green, it determines what element they can eat to gain energy from. Julia inherited her color (red skin) from her mother, and is immune to/can ingest and deflect fire. She also has bat wings, but they are not strong enough to carry more than just herself. Julia is the daughter of the Chief who rules over the island, and on the Chief’s 60th birthday, Julia was proclaimed as official heir to the position. She was his only child, so he felt it was the natural choice. However, the strongest young warrior in the village thought the position was rightfully his. When a new heir is proclaimed, they are to set sail as captain of the Akuma Bozuko pirates, and are to come back in 10 years time to take over after doing that as ‘leadership training’ On the high seas. The young warrior became first mate, and his followers their crew, unbeknownst to Julia. They sailed the Grand Line and made a name for themselves, and Julia earned a marine bounty of about 25 million belli. Once they crossed over into the East Blue, the followers of the warrior committed mutiny against her and held her in the brig, until the deposited her on a sandbar with one barrel of food, one barrel of water, stripped her of her sword, and left a gun with only one shot in it. They stranded her and left back to the Grand Line to tell the chief that she died and in her last dying breaths proclaimed Nobutenga (the warrior) as the new heir to the Chief’s position.
When Luffy’s crew comes across her, she is nearly out of both food and water, and after learning her story and who she is, Luffy asks Julia to join them. Her dream... is to take her revenge on Nobutenga and save her village from his murderous ways. Which would be interesting to pair her with Zoro because he doesn’t typically like revenge goals, and I think that they’d get on each other’s nerves but be unlikely friends. Julia has an older brother like figure in her tribe, her father’s first mate, Chachi.
Role in the Crew:.
Julia becomes the Strawhats Master rigger, because she can climb like a monkey in the upper masts and sails~ and Chachi was the one who taught her how. She even learned how to sword fight in the air above the deck of the ship, and her father gave her his prized sword (which Nobutenga stole) called The Scimitar of the Sevenfold Winds. As a fire ogre, the sword can create massive winds that will amplify her flames~
She doesn't currently have a timeskip outfit yet, but I'm working on it!

//1. My use of an OC will depend on how far you've watched/read One Piece. It took me forever to get to where I'm at in the anime but it's so darn good! >.<
2. I usually stick with the story-line as closely as I can but understand that we'll need to add in some AU due to our characters.
3. I'm comfortable with either scenario but feel like it would be better to have them meet in Shells Town due to the situation. It's more dramatic since Zoro's life is on the line.
4. I'll add information on my character depending on the answer to the first question. I think she'd make an excellent foe due to what she is.

Alright, sounds good!
I've seen about 600 episodes, but have only recently started rewatching One Piece, which is why I'm back into it again~. I'm most comfortable with anything Skypeia and backwards from there, but I can try my best to play who you want me to play! I will just be doing a lot of wiki reading, which I don't really mind, I'll just feel bad if they're ever too OOC cause it's been awhile. SO! Lay it on me!

Okay, cool! So Julia will be the first person to join the Strawhats, then. That's fine by me! She's definitely going to tell Luffy that she shouldn't really be First Mate just in case she ever gets her crew/ship back (spoiler--she doesn't, nobutenga killed them all :>) so that makes sure Zoro is still the first mate.

//Going to be honest with you. I started typing up a response to this. Her story is super complicated and it will take me a while to get it all post worthy for you. I will most definitely post it in this thread tomorrow morning after I get some rest. I didn't want you to think that I had forgotten about you or anything. It was nice meeting you and I'm super stoked to find another One Piece fan! I can already see the AU we'll have to weave into this since we are starting at the beginning. We'll make it work though and it'll be super interesting to see how things unfold.

Alright! Not to fear—I completely understand the need to hold off and type up a response later! Real life comes first, and that should be your first priority always ;>

It’s nice meeting you too! I’m also super stoked (do the kids still say that these days?) to do this with you, as well.

//I wouldn't know. I was rping back when Myspace was huge. I wouldn't be surprised if I were using outdated language. lol And I just typed this up. It's super long and, the more I look at it, the more I realize that it would probably honestly be better for me just to rp Zoro. I will still post it since you asked for it though. Don't feel like you are obligated to read it! The only reason I asked about your knowledge of episodes is because my main One Piece OC becomes affiliated with the Donquixote pirates. Her code name is my username, Lovely1.

If you don’t want to read this very complicated mess, I will provide the following bullet points for you. Lol

- She is one of seven experimental people created in a lab with genetics that will supposedly allow them to take out thee Shichibukai they are modeled after.

-She was the first of the seven to gain consciousness and has the experimental tag of AHW-0 tattooed onto her neck.

-She escapes the lab and is adopted by a blacksmith who teaches her everything he knows.

-Blacksmith dies and his family, jealous of he abilities and the praise she received from the blacksmith, attempts to murder her.

-She runs off and eventually meets up with Doflamingo. He sees promise in her and decides to take her under his wing.

-The blacksmith gave her the name “Hisako.”

-She wears sunglasses everywhere because she hates her eyes and is sensitive when it comes to them.

-She is an angry woman due to the circumstances surrounding her creation and the way the world has treated her.

-Has an obsession with chocolate and enjoys wine like her gene donor.

More detailed story…

There is a faction within the government that despises ALL pirates and doesn't understand why they aren't just simply wiped out instead of being utilized and given the title of "Shichibukai." This faction manages to convince a majority that there should be a fail safe in case any of the Shichibukai needed to be "dealt with." They are awarded a grant to start secret research into creating weapons that can be used against the War Lords if they ever decide to act against the government. In the experiment, they use strands of DNA that they've managed to collect from each of the Shichibukai in order to create entities that are born with the genetics to take them down. My character was the first to become conscious out of the group of newly developed weapons and was therefore granted the name "AHW-0” (Autonomic Humanoid Weapon) for being the first of the original. She, like other governmental experiments, had this tattooed onto her neck. There were seven of them in all. (This is where I’ll probably have to change up her story since mine originally takes place later on in the series timeline. I don’t mind though.)

I figure that the other experiments simply did as they were told by the government and acted as sheep. The Marines were their parents and they saw them as entities that only wanted the best for them. AHW-0, knowing why they were created, can see the government turning their backs on them or even trashing them if they do perform their duty at some point. She figures that if the Shichibukai she has been put in charge of taking down dies, then why would the government need her? They’d probably just fear her next. This being said, she wonders off, looks through any papers or files she can get her hands on, and looks for was in which she might have to escape. AHW-7, the one modeled after Doflamingo, gets excited by the thought of hunting her Shichibukai down and asks AHW-0 if she had ever found a weak spot in the security so she can go after him without government approval. AHW-0 finds her lacking in the brain department but figures this would be a good indicator of what the government would do with them and secretly helps her leave the facility.

AHW-7 miscalculated just how strong she was in comparison to Doflamingo and finds out the hard way that she had jumped the gun. She is ultimately killed off after being interrogated and researched. With all of this information, Doflamingo not only has more blackmail on the government but has also managed to find a peculiar weakness in them via Ceasar’s research.

The government decides it best to cancel the experiment and kill off the weapons they had created the moment Doflamingo makes it known to the government that he is aware of their plotting and the experiment. AHW-0, having found her escape route prior to this incident and realizing what is about to happen, slips out of the facility unnoticed.

She manages to flee to an island in the North Blue where she is taken in by an abby and eventually adopted out to an old blacksmith and his family. All of the nuns, with the exception of one, had been part of an underworld child trafficking ring and had posted a description and picture of AHW-0 to any possible underworld brokers who might take interest. Doflamingo, knowing what she was due to the eyes and the odd tattoo on her neck, contacts the nuns but is too late in obtaining her. The one kind nun, had accidentally stumbled upon the advertisements that the other nuns had carelessly left out in the open. Not wanting any more of the children to be trafficked, she quickly rounds them up and sets fire to the abby; destroying all evidence of AHW-0’s whereabouts.

The children of the blacksmith never really understood the art of smithing and neither did their son. They had little to no passion for blades whereas AHW-0 quickly gained a passion for them and had a natural talent in making them. The blacksmith’s family grew to hate her and, when he passed away some years later; the children of the blacksmith took AHW-0 out into the forest and attempted to murder her. They cut across her throat with a blade they hadn’t realized wasn’t sharp enough and knew little about how to actually use it. Thinking they had successfully slit her throat, they threw her in a shallow grave and left her to die. She lives and freaks out the already freaked out islanders. They completely reject her and try to do her harm. They had already disliked her due to her eyes looking like Mihawk’s (The one she had been modeled after).

Knowing that if she stayed on the island she would only end up as dead as she would have in the government facility, she wonders if there is ANY place for something like her and decides to brave the sea on her own. She constantly finds herself running from both pirates and the government until she reaches the archipelago and is spotted by the guy who runs Doflamingo’s auction house. He manages to call up Doflamingo and reports her presence on the island where he eventually meets her and persuades her to join him.

Possible love interest?
My favorite canon character is Trafalgar Law. Have no idea how he’d end up fitting into this other than he would know he’d have to get her to stop working for Do. He’d probably try to make her realize that she’s just going to end up being a disposable pawn because he went through the process himself.

Well, in the end the decision is up to you--I liked reading about it, but I do feel bad, like I wouldn't be able to do her justice ^-^U (like on the back of the marine coats!). You can make the final call!

In the end, I don't want you to do something you're uncomfortable with ^-^

//I think I'll include her to add some conflict here and there. She doesn't need to have a love interest. : P Did you have any other ideas for the starter? And are we going to split up the canon characters or did you want me to rp them all? I don't mind either way. As I said, I just like writing. lol

Alright, that works for me! I’d love to see her when she does show up!

As far as splitting up canon characters go, I just kind of like winging it, so then you can control whoever you need to in order to get the posts across and the storyline moving.

For starters, I can write a little blurb of how they found Julia and how she became Luffy’s master rigger, then have them arriving outside the wall to the navy base at Shell’s Town where Zoro is strung up.

As far as Zoro and Julia’s relationship goes, I love slow burns—so I foresee them butting heads. I think their relationships is mainly built upon respect at first, and then it slowly becomes more romantic.

I also want them to be sparring partners! If that’s alright? I hope it’s not to much to ask. I really appreciate you wanting to RP with me!

//That sounds absolutely perfect to me. I enjoy carefully constructed romance too. It makes it more meaningful and worthwhile. I know how to spar/fight in rp as well. You're definitly not asking too much.

//Okay good, thank you so much! I'm very glad you like my trashy mary sue wait what oc!
I'll get started then!

Important:. Please don't ever feel pressured to write as much as I do! My first post is super long, whoops ^-^U
Write what you feel comfortable writing! And it definitely doesn't have to be to the manga or the show verbatim--I'm paraphrasing the crap out of legitimately everything that happens.

The sun--what an awful, cursed thing that it was, beating down on her heavily as though she were some sort of meat on a grill, frying her delicate-looking pale skin. It was only a facade, however, as the brunette had plenty of scars despite the porcelain quality of her exterior--she was a seasoned warrioress and yet she had been bested and stranded on this stupid sandbar. The only energy she had was to sit and stare. Oh, she avoided staring at the sun - that was dangerous, and she wasn't a complete fool. She groaned though, almost wishing she couldn't see the dwindling embers of her fire - it was synonymous for her life as of yet. As her blue eyes fluttered between open and closed, she struggled to even think proper thoughts, but a month in solitude would do that to a person. They had left her with enough food and water for a month. At least they hadn't left her with nothing.

The island she had been left on was so small - it was essentially just a little slab of sand on a bar in the middle of nowhere in the East Blue. It probably wasn't even charted, and it's only foliage was some sad-excuse-for-grass patches and a dying coconut tree. Day in and day out, it was looking more and more appetizing for her to pick up the gun with the singular bullet in it and just put herself out of her misery.

Her fingers clung to the barrel, drawing it closer. What the hell was she thinking?! End it all? She couldn't do that! After all, she had a debt to repay those guys... Her so-called "beloved" crew! They had no business running around in her ship. But still.

One bullet. That was all it took, and the offer was horrifyingly tempting. Holding off for the moment, she willed herself to sit back up, knock down the last coconut and split it open with a rock like a cave-person. It would take a miracle for her to be saved. She slowly realized that the bullet would be more appetizing the hungrier she got. Then two days later, she spotted the flag. The ship was small, and certainly odd, but not the weirdest she had ever seen to hit the seas. It was a dingy with no overly noticeable features except for the two people sitting in it. Her eyes first scrunched up in confusion. This was some sort of joke, correct? It had to be a mirage - a figment of her imagination that only proved to trick her heart into thinking there was hope for her yet. But the oddity of this being the first ship she had seen since she had been stranded on the sandbar instantly lead her to wonder its reality--a ship this size, after all, seemed like something that a sleep deprived/malnourished person would conceive after a month of living on a dinky sandbar without any human interaction. The only noise she had heard for an entire month besides the crashing of the waves was the incessant and mocking cries of seagulls from above. Oh, she had figured early on that there was land just beyond the horizon line, thanks to the amounts of birds that could be seen above her. Then again, that could all be a figment of her imagination as well.

Either way, it didn't seem to matter at this point.

Falling onto her back, she stared up at the sky again, fearing silently that if she looked back, the ship that was to be her angel would disappear from her vision as a mirage disappears in the sand. Closing her eyes, she slowly felt her consciousness begin to drift, but not before she heard a loud exclamation that brought a smile to her lips.

"WOAH!!! Is that a dead body?!!!"

Hah.

Not yet.

Her name was Julia Tsukiomi, and she was the ex-captain of the Akuma Bozuko Pirates. Unfortunately she had been marooned after her crew had comitted mutiny against her. Luffy--the boy who had been screaming at her earlier--was actually quite the character. He had gotten so mad when she had told him her story of how Nobutenga, her first mate, had betrayed her and lied to her father about supporting the his daughter wholeheartedly, and then begged her to join his crew. He was looking for a first mate, but she politely declined, saying that she was always better at rigging, and he would need someone who knew how to tie up the sails should he ever aquire a bigger boat. Of course, she was more than fine with sailing the little ship that he and Coby had acquired. Their tales of Alvida the Pirate and their dreams were rather inspiring to her--it hadn't taken much convincing to get her to join them. Julia did warn them that she was a demon from the Grand Line, but Coby had merely stated it was impossible, and all Luffy did was laugh and mention how that must have made her a strong opponent then. She was too lazy at the time to show them her true form because it exerted so much energy, but with the amount of trouble that seemed to appear around Luffy, she figured it was only a matter of time before they saw it. Until then she would need to find a sword to fight with... that bastard, Nobutenga, stole her Scimitar of the Sevenfold Winds.

Once Coby had successfully navigated them to Shell's Town, they walked around, Luffy looking for some Pirate Hunter by the name of Zoro--but he was seemingly hard to find. As far as Julia was concerned, whenever she asked the townspeople about the man, or about the marines on the island, the residents would freeze up, or dash as quickly as they could into the nearest open house. "Hmm..." she hummed, wondering just what their deal was. "Everyone around here is very... not talkative."

"Shishishi, I'm sure they're just intimidated by us pirates. Now, somebody I talked to pointed this way! Let's go see!" They came upon the marine base, where a huge wall was constructed, obscuring their view of the grounds. Luffy was quick to scale the wall, Julia following closely behind.

Her eyes fell upon a cross sticking out of the middle of the ground, and her brilliant blue orbs narrowed slightly. So... that must be him? "R-Roronoa Zoro....!" Coby's squeak from his place next to her was enough to confirm her suspicions. What was he doing in this field? And tied up? If he was really that great of a swordsman, she wondered what the Marine captain of the Shell's Town base was like--he must be a true monster...

Muscles ached and body began to work against itself in a sad attempt to survive the beatings and the scarce feedings of pitying Marines. The swordsman was poised to make it through this ordeal and saw it as an opportunity to practice his self-control and to prove that he could survive all. He would simply brush it off in the end and continue on with a promise he had made long ago to a girl that no longer breathed in this life. He had to fulfill the thing that drove him; the thing that gave life to his life and meaning to his very existence. No Marine, pirate, bounty hunter, man, woman, child, could take that from him.

Slow shallow breaths made his chest rise and fall in rhythm as his body continued to rest against the cross he had been bound to for three weeks. The sweltering sun had charred his already tanned complexion and beads of sweat served as the only pathetic relief from the sun’s cruel gaze. Although he had been bound by rope to the place in which he stood, he wouldn’t have moved. He always honored his promises…even if those promises were made to people he normally wouldn’t have donated his time to. He acted as he pleased and responded to things and people around him on his own whim. He didn’t follow the rules of normal society. He didn’t cower to anyone and stood up for others when he felt like it. It was this that had gotten him placed in such an odd situation.

Unbeknown to him, this day would start as all the other days of his punishment had but would have a drastically different ending. Head poised downward with his cool gaze focused on the ground beneath his feet, he would suddenly feel a presence up on the wall across from him. He remained unmoving but shifted his gaze in the direction of the disturbance only to find that he had been correct in his intuition. Strangers had positioned themselves on the wall and were peering in at him as if he were some sort of zoo animal. He didn’t recognize them as anyone he had seen before but secretly gave them kudos for having the balls to get as close as they had. Most people feared him and he had been fine with that. He knew these people probably weren’t any different and would probably run the moment he barked at them; and so he does.

”Hey! Don’t you have anything better to do? This is private property! Do you wanna get shot? Idiots.”

She observed his form with a silent resolve--she wasn't exactly sure what he was doing all tied up, but she could see in his stance... in his resolve... that she didn't particularly want to disturb him, however, her attention was caught when a little girl set up a ladder beside her, throwing a rope over the wall. She was quite adorable, what with her pigtails and determined expression, and Julia blinked in mild surprise as she clutched a bundle in her arms tightly. Climbing the ladder was quick, but she was a bit more careful on the rope, jumping down once she was close enough. Deciding she wanted to follow her just in case the man tied to the cross tried anything stupid, Julia followed down afterward, ignoring Coby's cry of warning as he cautioned her on the dangers of the man before her. Roronoa Zoro. So this was him?

"Hey, mister!" The little girl really was cute. "I thought you might be hungry, so I made some rice balls for you. I tried really hard, I hope you like them!" Julia walked up, smiling at the little girl's bravery.

"You would do wisely to take her up on the offer," the brunette stated calmly, a hand on her hip as she looked upon the two. The little girl looked up at her, but considering Julia had done nothing but encourage her, she had no reason to fear the young woman. As if in response, Julia smiled down at her, nodding.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" A voice called out loudly, and Julia looked up sharply as the gates to the paddock from the direction of the Marine base opened up, revealing a small regiment and a rather... flamboyant looking young man. "Don't you two know anything? This is Marine base grounds, and trespassing only to fraternize with criminals? Surely this is a punishment only solved by death." Julia's eyes narrowed--this certainly didn't look good. She tensed as he came forward and felt a growl in her throat as he swiped a rice ball from the little girl. After taking a bite out of it, she growled more audibly upon him spitting it out on the ground. "EEK, IT'S SO SWEET!! You're supposed to use salt, not sugar, you idiot!" When he hit the child, that was the last straw.

Julia jumped forward in the blink of an eye, punching the man in the face and grabbing him by his stupid purple suit. "Helmeppo!" The sound of guns cocking resounded in her ears as the man she held gasped for air.

"Y-You punched me!"

"And I'll do it again if you touch another hair on that girl's head," her voice was deep, and there was a fire in her eyes that was common of a fire oni, despite her blue hues. This sniveling princess was really getting on her nerves.

"H-Hey, you'd better watch it. My daddy is Captain Axehand Morgan, and if you don't apologize right now, I might let you live!" He sure backpedaled when he was nervous. Unfortunately, he had a little more leverage than Julia. "If you... kiss my boots, I might let the kid and her mother live."

"You bastard!"

"Just do it, swallow your pride!" Coby's shout was heard over top of the wall, and she slowly let him down. She couldn't see Luffy's face, but her instincts told her that his silence meant the decision was hers. That was the kind of Captain he was. "Your life isn't worth your pride!"

Julia's brow furrowed as she finally let go, before kneeling in front of him. "That will have to do," Helmeppo grinned when she didn't move. "Throw the kid over the wall, Lieutenant." Julia rose her head, her eyes narrowing furiously. Helmeppo waved his finger at her coyly, as if warning her not to move. A steady growl built up in her throat, a sound that wasn't quite human, and she bared her teeth at the bleach blonde male as the little girl was tossed over the fence, and luckily Luffy was quick enough to catch her. Helmeppo turned with his guard, laughing as they stalked off, calling back to them as he did so. "When I turn around you'd better be gone! For your sake." And with that, he was gone.

The swordsman didn’t have the energy to lift his head much less move as he continued to rest upon the cross; all while the girl was making her way into the courtyard. Part of him had honestly hoped the girl would think he were dead just so she’d leave instead of getting herself even more caught up in this mess. He should have known that a mere child was too curious and kind hearted to do such a thing. Day after day she’d sneak in and attempt to feed him as if he weren’t capable of surviving this on his own. No harsh words or strict warnings would faze her or keep her from doing what she felt was right. It was something he could secretly admire and respect.

“What did I tell you, kid? Scram. This is no place for little girls.”

As soon as the last word left his mouth, he was confronted by the woman who had evidentially followed her into the courtyard. He was seriously getting tired of suddenly being a main attraction and wished looneys like them would just go find a kite to fly instead of meddling in his business. Why couldn’t they be like the other villagers? He was scary wasn’t he? He decides to speak up once the woman is finished lecturing him.

”And just who the hell are you? You can’t tell me what to do. This little girl should be at home….drawing pictures of flowers and wearing tutus or something. You know. Whatever it is you girls do.”

Having said what he wanted to, an unexpected yet disgustingly familiar voice cuts into their conversation. It was officially too late for the accomplices in the courtyard and he knew that the blonde jerk would have no qualms in showing how obnoxious and rude he naturally was. He honestly had nothing to say to someone like him and was doing his best to control himself by going through with his ridiculous wager in exchange for the girl’s safety. He simply keeps his head lowered knowing there is nothing he can do in the state that he’s in. It isn’t until he realizes that the man had slapped the child that he bothers to lift his head only to see the strange woman punch him in retaliation. This scenario had been the one he was trying to avoid and was exactly why he had just wanted them all to stay away.

It isn’t until the blonde leaves that the entangled swordsman speaks up again. He was aware of the female’s continued presence before him and could only hope that what had happened served as enough warning for her to back off.

”Hey. You heard him right? Get lost.”

Luffy soon finds his way into the courtyard after leaving the girl with Colby. He can hear the blabbing of the tied up green clad dude the government was holding as he approaches. Nothing the man said was of particular interest to him and he merely wanted to let him know that he was now apart of his crew.

”So, you’re Zoro?”

The swordsman can’t help but lift his head ever so slightly at the mentioning of his name. He, for the life of him, could not understand why more of them kept pouring into the courtyard despite it obviously being off limits to anyone outside of its HUGE walls.

”Yeah? What’s it to you?”

Luffy smiles at the confirmation before responding to him.

”You’re going to join my crew and help me become king of the pirates! But uh…where are your swords?”

Zoro grunts as he is suddenly reminded of his unfortunate separation from them.

”They’re obviously holding them somewhere in the base, genius.”

Julia sat in the dirt, growling softly to herself as she tried to compose what was left of her pride. Slowly standing as Luffy talked with the bandanna'd swordsman, she took a deep breath, calming down the fire that burned deeply in her belly. The brunette knew that she really shouldn’t let something like her pride get in the way of her ability to think rationally. There was just something about when that Helmeppo struck that kid that she just, snapped. It hadn’t taken her a second before she had let her fist connect with his face. It was a reaction. Or really, an instinct. She was glad that Luffy had been able to catch her after the Lieutenant was forced to toss her over the wall.

Turning to look at Zoro and Luffy as they conversed, Julia dusted off her clothes and her cape before she put her hands on her hips, raising an eyebrow at their conversation. Luffy started to walk off back the way (the exact opposite direction of the base) they came when he declared he was going to get the man's swords. "Uh, the marine base is that way, boss," she pointed in the direction it actually was, which admittedly should have been easy to see. She sighed, a concerned look on her face as Luffy merely grinned at her and turned around.

"Right! Thanks Jules!" She sighed as he dashed towards the base, his light rubber body allowing him almost spring-like jumping ability as he easily cleared the wall in one bound, and the brunette could only sigh and shake her head. Despite Helmeppo's previous warning Julia stood with the swordsman.

"Zoro, right?" Julia looked to him, a small smile on her face. "I’ll warn you—Luffy is persistent. He won’t leave you alone until you join up." She sighed, shaking her head as she thought of her idiot captain. Yes, he could be a bit dense, but she supposed that part of him was the same amount of endearing as it was annoying. "Let’s just say I owe him my life, and I don’t think I’ll be able to repay it in this life. He’s got a good spirit that refuses to falter. It might be beneficial for both your goals to join forces." A silence hung in the air for a moment, and Julia nodded to him, letting him ponder his options. "Well, I’m not one to tell you what to do—I just wanted to make sure you knew what kind of pirates we are: which is not like other pirates."

Hearing some scuffling, Julia turned her head to see Coby running from the direction of the gate. "I just ran into Luffy and he told me to tell you guys what we heard!" The pink haired kid held a dagger in his hand, and for a moment, Julia thought he was going to stab the defenseless swordsman. Blinking, she was internally grateful that he was just using it to cut the man's ropes, but he wasn’t going fast enough for the sense of urgency in his voice.

"What’s the matter, Coby?" His eagerness to cut Zoro free despite how scared he had been of him earlier was worthy of a little bit of anxiety.

"Helmeppo was never going to keep your promise! The mom of that little girl told me why you’re tied up here. I raced to you guys and found Helmeppo confronting Luffy. I’ve never seen Luffy so angry when Helmeppo said he was going to throw away your promise and kill you today! We have to go now!"

"Not so fast!" A battalion of Marines were marching upon the gate, coming into the courtyard.

"Let me guess... 'Axehand Morgan," Julia mumbled, instinctively stepping in front of Coby as he struggled to get Zoro's ropes cut.

"That’s right. It appears we have some pesky flies on our Marine headquarters. You will all pay for this insolence with your lives!" The soldiers loaded their guns, and Julia's steely blue eyes narrowed as she looked to them. She would never be able to move fast enough to protect them all from harm—even if she were to transform into her real form. Where was Luffy?

"You'll have to cut me down first, I’m afraid," she smirked, hoping internally that she could buy her captain some time so he could rush down and free the swordsman for a more fair fight. She could potentially take the bullets herself, but this many marines at basically point blank range...? If it didn’t kill her, she'd be out of commission for months, at least.
