Realistic or Modern Boarding School Hostage

"Meh, a bit rusty, but I think I can try." Waiting until the guards had their backs turned, Nathan grabbed a paperclip from his pocket, twisted it into a decent lockpick shape, and moved it around in the cuffs until he found a match, then, slowly turning the pick to unlock the cuffs, he uncuffed Gale and ran back to his seat before he was missed.

"Thanks." Gale removes the cuffs from his wrist and moves them around. "Can I have that paper clip, though?"

Before the guard turned back around, Nathan tossed Gale the paperclip. "I have 3 more."

Once the guards turned back around, Nathan addressed Max.

"So, what are you playing at here? What's your goal? Why me? I mean, some of these people I understand, but myself? Also, what do you hope to actually get DONE out of your goal? I have calculated 50, no wait, 51 scenarios, and whether we live or we die, they all end with you and your whole crew shot, hung, gassed, or, in a few cases, burned at the stake. Parents can be cruel, you know. When you guys ran in here, the second that first explosion sounded off and every second since, you have been doomed. Your deaths are inevitable."

"Understood." Ian responded into the walkie talkie before switching back to the main channel.

"Alright Hudson, it is you and I. No one else will be coming after you but myself. If you want your showdown then lets meet up and settle things. Otherwise, you'll be stuck settling things on my terms and from one military personality to the next, you know that a good soldier chooses their own battlefield."

Ian didn't really care about the cat and mouse game. What he wanted was to face this kid one on one, hand to hand. That would provide the most interesting turnout for him. It had been a long time since anyone had been a match for him. He hoped this kid would provide the challenge he had been looking for.

Max raised an eyebrow at Nathan,"You act as if you have a right to know," he said and approached him,"Those little rights of yours left the minute we got here. Now if you don't be quiet you'll seriously regret it." He sat back and watched everyone,"Now be a good brat and sit still for the next few hours." He was starting to get irritated by these kids. They were too noisy. He decided he would fix that once things settled down.

Lilith watched the kids that wouldn't settle down. She sighed, knowing they would only make it worse. As she glanced outside she noticed helicopters of some sort. They looked foreign and were very high tech. From the lack of panic from the guards outside, she assumed they belonged to this group. Things were starting to grow and she was getting more suspicious. This seemed different from all the other small attempts of kidnappings at the school. A chill ran up her spine and her nerves felt strange, not a good sign.

Gale walks up to Lilith. "Hey." He grins and lifts up his hands, now free of cuffs. "I know you probably see me as annoyance by now, but I was thinking we should probably work together to get everyone out of this."

Lilith looked at Gale and smiled,"I'm already working on a plan. Sit back and observe, strike when I see an opening. So far though it seems as if his plan is wired tight." She pointed out the window,"They also just brought in copters. That's not a good sign at all. They have a lot of potential danger." She stood up,"And another thing. The fact that they have picked us all specifically. This isn't just an average hostage situation."

"Yeah, I noticed the big loud flying things." He smiles. "No, it's definetly not an average situation. This has all been premeditated for who knows how long."

Max takes her watch off her wrist and examines it for a moment and then sits back down. She starts picking at the wrist strap trying to remove it from the clock face. She bites her lip concentrating. She digs her nails into the threads in the leather until they snap and the strap falls off.

Makai was staying quiet reading his book about a murder inside of a house. He needed to move, but how.He felt like if he moved now Max would get more agitated than he already is.That was not a good thing, then he saw helicopters outside. What does that mean? They can't be going inside the school right? This made no sense to him,but Makai was going to have to figure this out. With or without help.

Madison stopped doing flips and tricks, then sat down next to her brother who had his head down on the table. She wasn't tired at all.Heck, she wasn't even sweating.Madison saw the helicopters outside and tapped her brother,"Look" Madison said in awe.Michale looked up when his sister tapped him and saw the helicopters,"What the...." Michale was saying,"Heck" Madison finished. The twins both looked over at Max for a sec. What were they planning

Nathan looked up and saw the helicopters. They weren't of an American design. Nathan swore he could almost put his finger on the exact model, but it was just eluding his mind presently. Nathan turned to everyone when the guards weren't paying attention. "Ok, this means one of two things in my mind, they're gonna helievac us out of here and to a safer location, or they are going to complete their objectives and have the helis drop a barrage of heavy fire to kill us all in one stroke."

Name: Jethro Hudson

Location: On the Move

Jethro continued to move, checking his corners as he did so. Somewhere in this place was a man hunting him down. To be honest, a lot of men were hunting him but he was only concerned with one man. He came around a corner and came face to face with another terrorist grunt. The grunt seemed shocked for a second then he lunged forward intending to take Jethro down. Jethro easily caught the punch, twisting the man's slightly, he pulled the man forward allowing his knee to slam into the man's stomach. The man's breath shot out all at once. The man gritted his teeth with pain, Jethro followed the attack by continuing to grip the man's arm and stepping under the man's arm and twisted it up behind his back. Gripping the base of the back of the man's head with his left hand, he slammed the man's head into the lockers. The cried out a bit, then sagged to the ground falling unconscious.

Jethro took a moment to breathe, that fight, short as it was and rather one sided, took more energy then he had planned on expending. After few seconds, he bent down next to the man and began rummaging through his pockets.

It seemed all these men carried the same type of pistol so removing the clip from the pistol, he unchambered the round and replaced it in the clip. Then he pocketed the clip. Now he'd have twenty five shots to use if he needed to use them. This man seemed more important, he had to be to considering how much longer it took him to take him down. Searching the man's pockets some more, Jethro found something interesting. A small black remote that resembled a garage door remote....Oh damn.

Jethro had found one of the detonators. Making sure it was in a place that he would not accidentally press the button, he pocketed the detonator, then he moved on, not wanting to be caught in the same area for too long.

Eventually, he found a place he could hide and as he did, he put walkie talkie to his mouth,

"Another one bites the dust and this one seemed to have a prized possession. That is right Max, I seem to have located one of your detonators."

@Marie Rain

Max heard the message from his walkie talkie and looked more frustrated than before. He started to walk out the door,"If anyone tries to leave this room while I'm gone, shoot out their damn knee caps," he growled at the guard. This was enough sitting around. He was going to track down the remaining kids but leave Jethro to Ian. He had already promised that. Max looked furious as he stormed down the halls.

Anna heard a walkie talkie crackle around the corner. It seemed that the other military boy had found something. She sighed slightly as she heard his teasing of whichever terrorist he was talking to now. She could only hope that he had the skills to back it up. She prepared to duck into the closet so she could wait until the guard passed...

No

Instead she pressed herself against the wall and waited for the man to walk around the corner. As he did, she punched him in the head effectively knocking him out.

Sage was hiding in a tree in the courtyard. He watched as people passed by and tried to kept his breath low.

Jethro released the button and sighed slightly as he did so. He didn't like what he was doing, but he did not really have a choice. He was trying to goad the opposition, an angry enemy is more likely to make mistakes. He didn't know if this Max character had a temper but he certainly hoped that he did, it may cause him to make mistakes. Jethro turned the corner and found himself down the hall from who only could have been Ian. Ian looked at him with no facial emotions, his expression made it appear as if their meeting in this way was inevitable.

"Nice to finally meet you Hudson." Ian said, his hands resting at his sides.

"Wish I could say the same but I really can't." Jethro replied.

"You ready to come with me quietly?" Ian asked, although he was sure he knew the answer.

"Not in the slightest." Jethro retorted.

"I was hoping you'd say that." Ian remarked, his face showing evidence of a smile.

Suddenly, it was as if all hell broke lose. Both males drew their weapons and dove for cover. Shots rang back and forth, anyone would be able to tell that a high tension gun battle was taking place. Jethro fired three times.

22 shots left

Ian cussed as the shots nearly hit him but he managed to avoid them. This kids training was continuing to save him, Ian could save that much. Jethro ducked down farther as Ian returned fire. Jethro looked around, he was in no position to win this gun fight. He didn't have the ammunition nor the shot angle to win this. He had to think of something.

He waited for a lull and then turning the corner he pulled the trigger five more times, turning and dashing down the hall way as he did so.

17 shots left

Now the race was on.

Ian didn't realize right away that Jethro had disappeared, it wasn't until he moved up on the position on where Jethro had been that he realized that Jethro had disappeared.

"Damn It!" He yelled, then dashed off in the only direction that Jethro could have gone. As he turned the corner, he saw Jethro turning down another hallway. He shot three times but he could tell right off the bat that all of his shots had missed their mark.

Max gathered every guard that he passed in the hallways,"We are moving forward with the plan. Now. Find the kids. Grab the ones in the cafeteria when we have them." He had spent too much time sitting around and now things were becoming dangerously close on time. He searched the hallways for any child he could find.

Lilith was growing anxious from the sudden activities,"Hey guys. Something is up. I don't know what it is but it's dangerous. Prepare for whatever is to come. Whatever it is we have to be ready." She spoke to the whole cafeteria despite the guards being there. They stared her down at the sudden warning, thinking she was growing to know to much,"Don't cause trouble," they warned. There were too many for any of them to take down anyways.

Max twirled the watch in her hand thinking deeply. She pocketed the leather straps and examined the clock trying to take her mind off the current events.

Marlyine Joy Riker

(hallway)

Marlyine took a deep breath and jumped out of the closet, into the office and then in the hallway. She slowly and silently walked along the hallways, trying to avoid as many people as possible. She had no idea where Jetharo had gone and didn't intend to find him. She wanted out. Marlyine keeps walking and when she turned a corner, a large man in black was standing there. She tried to scream but the guy covered her mouth with his large hand and spun her around, roughly grabbing her hands together and pinning them against her back. He swiftly began walking her back to where the other captured students were.

Name: Jethro Hudson

Location: Running down the hallways

Jethro continued to run down the hallways, he knew Ian was on his tail, he could hear his boot steps just behind him. Jethro came to a stairway and instead of running down the stairs, he chose to jump over them. He landed, rolling as he did so and came back to his feet. He continued his dash, avoiding possible obstacles in his wake.

However, even the best of men make mistakes. As Jethro came around the corner, he passed by one of the doors with the explosives on it, he moved quickly but came skidding to a halt. The hallway ended in a dead end with classrooms on either side. Turning around Jethro ran back the way he had come. However, Ian stood in his way. They both stood facing each other. Their distance marked only by the door with the explosive on it that sat directly in the middle of them.

Ian had his gun trained on Jethro, Jethro had a single hand in his pocket.

"End of the line Hudson, time to come with me." Ian commanded.

"I'll give you one thing, you caught me Ian. Although, I'd expect nothing less from former military. However, I do expect a little common sense from someone with your training." Jethro replied.

"The hell is that supposed to mean?" Ian demanded.

"Well, you see, you are high grade military but your men are not. Your detonators are barely anything more then garage door remotes. You know as well as I do that those remotes cannot isolate an individual signal. They will detonate the nearest signal that matches their patterns." Jethro explained.

"Yes, I am aware. Are you just stalling for time? We aren't going to kill you. We are all just going for a little ride on the helicopters. Just come quietly." Ian thought for a second,

"Wait, why are you telling me about this?" Ian asked.

"Just alerting you as to what is about to happen. Because I have no intention of coming quietly." Jethro at this point, pulled something out of his pocket, his hand cupped around whatever it was, keeping it hidden from sight.

That was when Ian remembered earlier, the explanation of the remote signal patterns and the fact that Jethro had stolen a detonator off one of the men.

"Son of a-" Ian shouted as he dove to the side, just as Jethro clicked the button on the detonator.

BOOM

The bomb was non shrapnel based. The resulting explosion blew the door and sent glass flying in all directions. Ian managed to dodge the majority of the explosion but still found himself thrown by the explosion.

Jethro got the worst of it, he was thrown with extreme force down the length of the hallway, slamming into the wall. A shard of glass opened a nasty cut on his forehead. He was battered and unconscious but alive. Ian got up, coughing as he did.

This damn kid was insane.

Walking down the hallway, he holstered his pistol as he came to the kid. Leaning down he picked the kid up, putting him over his shoulder as he did so. Turning he walked down the hallway, stepping over debris as he went.

He walked down the hallways until he came to the cafeteria where the other kids had been rounded up. Walking over to one of the lunch tables he laid Jethro down on it. Looking over he saw the group of primary hostage students. He pointed to the girls in the group,

"One of you clean him up. He is still alive, clean the blood off of him." Ian demanded before walking away to clean the dirt and debris off himself from the explosion.

First though, he raised the walkie talkie to his lips,

"Ian to Max, Hudson has been captured. I have moved back to the cafeteria, Over."

@Marie Rain

Max looked up from her watch at the approach of Ian and Jethro. She quickly climbed to her feet at his words and scrambled over to the hurt boy. She examined him with her dark eyes recognition setting in slowly. She had gym class with this boy. Max tried to remember his name and suddenly it came to her "Jethro?".

Jethro groaned loudly, coughing after doing so. Everything hurt, for a scary minute, he couldn't remember why. Then he did, he probably would have laughed if he wasn't in so much pain. He managed to open one eye, his vision was blurry at first but after a few seconds he saw a pretty girl leaning over him. He blinked a few times and then closed his eye again. He coughed again, the pain flared again as he did so. He could feel something hot, dripping off of his forehead but he wasn't in a place where he could think what it was.

@Phil

"Give me one minute and I'll help you. ok?" Max ran off and grabbed the first aid kit off the wall and grabbed the napkins off the counter. She quickly ran back to the table Jethro was lying on and placed the items next to him. She grabbed a couple of the napkins and started wiping his face clean, which seemed to be the place that needed the most attention. "Are you conscious enough to help me? Jethro, can you speak?" Max looked at him with a worried expression hoping he would respond.
