Boarded In

"Help yourself to whatever you'd like," she said, "I need to get these clothes off me before I start to smell like zombie," the fact that she said it so casually was almost frightening seeing how fast she adjusted to the situation. She sighed the moment she got in her room looking at the mirror to see her reflection was covered in blood and her reflection also had sweat dripping down her face. Samantha let out a long breath before delving into her drawers changing into the only pair of cargo pants she owned, along with a plain white tee. She slipped out of her work shoes and changed them for her boots, grabbing a light weight jacket to wear when needed. Sam let her hair down once more, bringing it all over one shoulder and braided it tightly so no stands of hair would be falling in her face. She tied it down, throwing her hair back over her shoulder then left her room, being sure to grab her phone before she left.

She went back towards the kitchen where she last left Charlie and sat down at the table, her appetite completely gone now that she had killed a zombie, seeing the reality of this world. It was not a pretty sight, it was infected and it was gruesome, why they had to deal with it beat her, yet she only had two things on her mind; one to survive, and two; get to her dad.

Charlie grabbed what was a large packet of Doritos from the cupboard, opened them and almost threw one into his mouth. He tried to savour the taste as best he could, he knew that if they did manage to survive this seemingly Zombie apocalypse then they would probably also run out of luxuries such as Doritos. He heard a noise behind him and turned to see that it was just Samantha returning to the Kitchen. She had changed her clothes and now looked as if she was going out. "Your not.. Your not going out there!? are you?!" Charlie said to her, walking over to where she was sitting.

Sam looked up at Charlie, whom had been chowing down on Doritos. She simply nodded her head. "Not right now, I'd like to collect myself before I do anything and actually comprehend the fact that there are zombies out there that want to eat my face off. Charlie, my dad is out there, and I'm not going to leave him to die alone. You can choose to stay here or make the most of the rest of your like and go out like a badass in all those movies," she said, and almost grin cracking onto her lips.

Charlie looked towards the window "If he's out there, he's already dead". He could still hear the sounds of the surrounding chaos drifting into the apartment from down below. Charlie almost instantly regretted what he had just said, he knew it probably sounded extremely harsh.

"No I know he isn't," Samantha said. She didn't give a reason as to how she knew, she figured that she didn't need to be giving answered to those that she just met. And for the fact that he had little faith in her father made her almost instantly want to prove him wrong. She knew he was out there, and he would defiantly not go without a fight. That much was clear. Sam was not going to give up, because just like her father, she had the drive in her to fight.

Charlie didnt reply, he didnt really know what to say. He just let out a long and loud breath of air and walked out of the kitchen and into the living room, lying down on a large sofa. He covered his face with his hands, only an hour ago life was so simple and normal, even though he had lived day to day hating life. Maybe this Apocalypse was a fresh start for him? If the girl decided to leave and go after her father would he stay here? or go with her? he didnt know.

Sam waited until Charlie left the kitchen and let out a groan. Her dad was out there, she knew he was he told her. And nothing, not even the zombie apocalypse would keep her from him. They had a close bond, that much was clear, and they were both not prepared to loose one another. Samantha stood up, putting her jacket on and sliding her phone into one of its pockets. She grabbed one of her back packs and opened it, starting to stock up on non perishables, a jug of water, knives whatever she thought she would need. She didn't know what she was getting into, and if she had the choice of not finding out, she would pick that any day. However, cowering in her apartment was not an option, eventually they would run out of supplies, no food or water, then they would have to go out, but what would be waiting on the other side seemed like it would be a lot worse than what it was now. She was going and that was final. Zipping up her pack, and throwing it over her shoulders, she sighed walking out of the kitchen and into the living room, going to the door where she dropped the baseball bat, she picked it up and looked over at Charlie who was laying on the sofa, "well, it was good meeting you," she said, and started to go to the window to go down the fire escape(less zombies). She stopped after she opened the window and looked over at the boy, "This is your last chance, you won't survive in here, but at least out there, there's some hope."

"Well, it was good meeting you", At this Charlie bascially jumped into a standing position, off the sofa. He walked over to the open window where Samantha was standing, grabbing her arm. "There is NO hope out there" He said pointing towards the street where there seemed to be over a hundred Zombies and even more bodies that had not turned yet. "If we gather the supplies from all the apartments here, It will just us a while" Charlie had it sort of planned out, he knew even if they did this, they would eventually run out, then they would need to venture out to other buildings, but at the moment that was safer then travelling to god know's where through a haorde of Zombies and chaos.
