"University, a place where a students dreams become reality, where they thrive and make friends that will last forever, being able to study to become the people that they want to be going forward in life" A lady said while speaking into a microphone, the University in the background. "If you want all that and more then welcome to the Lakewood State University is located right next to the great lake Ontario on the New York State side the university offers a wide variety of students both from the USA and from other foreign countries. In the last few years we have also implemented a state of the art hero program that is coupled along with your university degree, if you wish to take part in the hero program of course. The University also offers record breaking low entrance and tuition fees as our sponsors have been very generous in providing the university with top of the line equipment and funding so that we can further your education. We also have many entrance scholar ships and extra curricular activities such as varsity sports teams, bands, and many other clubs. The university is surrounded by a city that was originally meant to only contain student dormitories but as the college became bigger a lot of infrastructure was put into place around he university such as hospitals, stores, businesses, hero organisations and many more, it has become a city of its own. So welcome to Lake..."

The lady's voice was cut off suddenly at the sound of a space bar being hit on the keyboard of a laptop, followed by the quick succession of keys pressed to follow as the song Bad Reputation began to blare through the sound systems of a certain house in the city of Lakewood. A girl dressed in a graphic t-shirt depicting the logo of some punk rock band began to sing along with the lyrics. Her red hair whipped around as she danced back and fourth as she began to deposit large and heavy books in a bag. Picking up a hairbrush the girl, still dancing began to brush her hair and tie it back into a pony tail, now using her brush as a microphone as she hit a high note. Suddenly the music cut out and she looked over to see a tall brunette man standing by her computer, "Em... do you really have to so early in the morning? your gonna wake the Neighbors..." He said with a stern look as he scolded her. She simply stuck out her tongue at the man who was well dressed and wearing sunglasses indoors, as if trying way too hard to be cool. "Don't fuck with my music Damien" Emily said as she finished packing her bag, looking over at the alarm clock that read 7 am, way to early for her standards, it sucked that she had music theory at 8 am every morning, but she loved the program, and the hero program on top of that. "Come on Em, You don't want to be late again do you" He said as he held out a motorcycle helmet for her. She walked up to him and punched him hard in the shoulder, causing Damien to wince bit as she took the helmet, "dick... come on" she said as she walked out through the door.

It was about mid afternoon now, sunny, and while it was still relatively warm out the mid September air gave an ominous chill, like something was about to happen without warning, something terrible. Emily shrugged it off, as she walked towards the hero course building. While being enrolled in both her regular programs and a hero course was tough having the two separated between morning and the afternoon made it a lot easier to manage time. It had already been a week at the school and she already had two projects to do and a hand full of assignments, of course there was some leniency for those people doing the hero course but it was a lot of work. She walked up to the steps of the hero building with a card hanging around her neck by a lanyard, that read her name and student ID, as well as the words approved for missions on it. She smiled and entered the building. Sitting in the classroom she felt at ease, looking down at the white board she watched as several students began to take their seats. Her brother took the seat next to her giving her a little jab in the arm. "Ow, what was that for?" She exclaimed turning to look him dead in the eye. "Payback, now pay attention, the teacher will be here soon" he said, at which point Emily turned back to face the front of the room while pouting.

Hey guys, welcome to Lakewood State University, a BNHA role play that focuses on the college life rather than the high school life. For some of you your returning from the last BNHA role play I did, but I would like to send a warm welcome out to our new players and welcome them to the family. Just some information for everyone before we get started, I do plan on trying somethings with the structure of this role play, in which case I mean a less railroaded experience, and allowing players to do more or less what they want at all the time while still providing a general direction for them to move in. _Line 213 _Line 213 BlacklegSanji BlacklegSanji and Foogels Foogels will be acting as co-gm's during the role play so that we can provide a better experience for everyone. And with that I hope you all have fun and enjoy yourselves, feel free to post when your character has been approved. Rebecca Furlong
Rebecca woke up early in the the morning, her apartment quite chilly due to the heating system in her building being broken, something that was suppose to be fixed over a week ago. She sighed as she felt dehydrated, likely due to the amount of alcohol she had drank the night before at the college bar. Luckily Drunk Rebecca knew exactly what hangover Rebecca would need. She looked over to her desk across the room and saw the glass of water on it. She groaned not wanting to get up yet, still wanting to stay in bed due to her pounding headache. She reached out her hand towards the glass and black slime shot out towards the glass forming a hand shape around it and pulling it back to her, spilling a bit of the water on its way over. She slowly tipped the glass up to her mouth and took a sip of water, which of course went down the wrong way causing a fit of coughing and nearly throwing up. As she lid in bed, thinking over her poor decisions the night before for she opened her phone to view the pictures from the night before, groaning at the ones that were mildly humiliating, wondering why she ever went out drinking in the first place. Suddenly her phone went off with a text from some random number that just said "Thanks for last night ;D". She groaned again as memories began to flood into her head from the night before, and more things that she had to worry about.

As she turned over in bed she literally fell face and eyes into the floor as she turned over too face. She picked her self up off the ground, "ow..." she said as her head was pounding even louder than before and she was pretty sure now that she had permanent brain damage. with a huff and a puff she stood up on her feet, looking at her self in her bed side mirror. Messed up hair, blood shot eyes, make up half rubbed off her face and hickeys covering her upper chest and neck... a typical night out for her always ended this way. She began to wipe off her make up and look at her hair, she would need to dye it again soon, her naturally jet-black roots were beginning to show and while they did tend to compliment the lighter red hair color that she usually wore it was getting more noticeable than she would generally like. She began to go through the process of waking up. Running to the bathroom to puke her guts up, having a shower, brushing her teeth, putting on make up to both make her look good and cover the spoils of the night before, throwing on a baggy shirt and sweet pants, and packing her stuff for school. The routine took her a hour and a half every morning.

Grabbing her bag and a leather jacket she made her way out the door of her apartment, passing by some other students in her building, also making their way to the shuttle bus stop. Waiting on the side of the road in the cold September air wasn't exactly what she would consider fun considering the night she had before but it was helping to keep her awake. As she stood waiting she began to search through her book bag, making sure she had the piles of assignments she had due today for her courses, one in Math, two in English, one in physics, and one of the importance of education. She sighed, while she had this stuff done for a few days now it never really made it any easier, having the large workload and being able to work as a hero never made it any easier. As the lanyard swung around on her neck she could hear sirens off in the distance, probably some low life scum thinking that they would get away easily, probably thinking the town surrounding a popular hero school would be an easy target because they wouldn't expect, but the fact of the matter was that everyone was always ready, crime happened here as it did in every other city.

As she boarded the shuttle bus she began looking for an empty seat and found none, which meant she would have to stand making the bumps and turns so much worse for her hang over. Suddenly police rounded the corner in front of them, pulling up to a store front, as a few thieves came rushing out of the store and running towards the bus. The bus came to a screeching halt causing Rebecca to almost fall over. She sighed as she said "open the doors", and walked off the bus. As the two criminals Rushed by she extended her arms, and black slime shot from her, sticking to the backs of the two crooks. As she yanked the two skinny, and obviously not very strong, criminals back toward her she retracted the slime and gave a round house kick to one of the crooks faces, knocking him down. As the other stumbled she kick him towards the near by wall and used her slime to stick him to the wall. As the cops approached they cuffed the criminals and began to ask for Rebecca's authorization card as she began to throw up again in a near by garbage can from over exerting her self. As she cleared things up with them she got back on the bus and hung on to a pole for her dear life as the bus began to move again.

After her morning classes came to a close Rebecca's hang over began to fade slightly, and she made her way slowly to the hero course buildings. The day wasn't looking up much for her, hopefully something interesting would happen today, she needed something to excite her a little bit. As she approached she could see some familiar but unknown faces begin to walk in with her, she had seen most of these people around but she didn't really know them all that well, she hadn't really made any new friends in her hero classes yet. Sitting down in the far corner of the room Rebecca began to brood a little bit, with her head down on her desk, still suffering the effects of staying up late drinking and not being able to remember anything after a certain part of the night. She just hoped that she wouldn't get berated for coming to school hung over by her hero teacher as well as some of her regular teachers.

"Yes."

"---"

"Sure."

"---"

Around the streets of Lakewood, an unsuspecting-looking classic car had been wandering. The driver, a reasonably well dressed man who looked to be on the worse side of his forties, drove with one ear open, while his passenger was locked up in a decidedly one sided conversation.

"I won't forget."

"---"

Without a goodbye, a faint beep peeped out from the passenger seat as the call drew to its end.

"Mommy and Daddy giving you an earful again, huh?"

"Yeeaahhhh" Behind the man, a young woman spoke up with a long, exhausted groan. "They just don't trust me anymore! Not that they ever did. That whole call was just 'make sure to do this', 'be sure not to do that', like, come on, I'm not brain dead, you know?" As she jabbered on, switching between her voice between half-baked imitations of her parents and her own, the white haired woman seemed to be slowly refilled with the vigor for which she was usually known.

"I mean, I'm well aware that they have expectations, and plans, and yada yada blah blah, but come on, right? Calling for a debrief every week? Posting a babysitter, no offense, to make sure I don't go and... I don't even know what they're worried about! Do they think I'll leak a dirty secret or something!? Makes me angry. Angry!"

Then, there was a long sigh from the front of the vehicle, though not a word was spoken.

"Anyway... Sorry for making you waste your time like this. They'd be hounding me about 'prying eyes' this and 'eavesdroppers' that if we chatted in public. Such a pain." For a few more minutes, she rambled on in discontent, spouting the same complaints about her parents in different forms and at varying levels of harshness, before finally seeming to run out of steam. This was only the second call they'd made like this, and she was already sick of it. Actually, that was too generous, she'd been sick of it since the first minute of it. The first second, even.

As if the driver was in tune with her emotions, it was only moments after she'd finally simmered down that the car pulled into the university proper. Above it, the prestigious walls of Lakewood towered high and proud. When she laid eyes on it, the change in the girl's mood was immediate. Her frown turned into a smile, she popped the car door open, and hopped from it without hesitation.

"Mmm!" With a deep breath and a exaggerated stretch, she took in the school grounds with a sense of satisfaction. This was the real reason she'd gotten out of bed today. Not to listen to her philosophy teacher drone on about Nietzsche, not to get ordered around by dear old mom and dad, but to hone herself at the Hero Course and make tons of great friends along the way.

"Hey! Thanks Vin! Both for the ride and the ear, make sure they give you something nice as thanks!" She called over her shoulder, kicking the door shut behind her as she set off and up along the campus, treading after a few of her classmates as they all weaved their way towards their next lesson. She recognized their faces, it was an important skill for someone in her line of work, but ultimately decided against sparking up a conversation with any of them. It pained her a little, but class was starting soon, so for the time being she decided to just take a seat and scope things out.

Sebastian Stone - Running Running
Tags: The One Eyed Bandit The One Eyed Bandit
There was no time, never enough time, so few hours in the day to spend on what's most important. Between school assignments, sleeping, forgetting to sleep and neglecting sleep for school assignments he just didn't have enough time in the day for what really mattered. And so he ran. Past people, past buildings, leaving behind the morning commuters, leaving himself in a fervorous tizzy. Pushing past the slow-moving crowd, vaulting himself over obstacles, poles and fences. Using foreign landmarks to navigate unfamiliar roads and double backing well after the wrong turn was taken. Running, panting, rushing, frenzy. Goal in sight. The final stretch. A colorful door. An opened door. The ring of a bell. A crying voice.

"One coffee, black! And give me something sweet to go with it! A cookie, a cookie!" All eyes were on him, the man who had just burst in, barking orders, now doubled over and wheezing. When the strength to lift his torso returned to him the man saw all eyes return to what had their focus before. And as the throbbing of his ears began to leave him, a voice rang through loud and clear.

"Sebastian, you have to stop coming in like that." With a smile and an apology, Sebastian greeted the man behind the counter in earnest. They exchanged pleasantries as the man worked. It didn't take long for the coffee to be finished, and the transaction was made. "Always so lighting fast, I love it!" Sebastian gave his compliments, as always.

"It's only because I want you gone." And the man gave his grievances, as always. Today too they flew over Sebastian's head as he left the small shop with a smile, a wave, and an "I'll be back tomorrow." Now outside, Sebastian took himself down an alleyway, just out of sight, and summoned a door. The phantasmal gate welcomed him. He stepped within, feeling the uncanny energy wash over him for an instant. A shiver of heat followed by cool air and the welcomed sight of the boy's bathroom stall within his school building.

After washing off what sweat he could, Sebastian took to the halls, humming and smiling with gross optimism. Walking down the hall. Entering the classroom. Nodding and waving, saying hello to the faces he knew and didn't know alike as he made his way to one specific table, at which sat his favorite sight. Passeri sat, elegant as she was. There are so few hours in the day to spend on what is important, but Sebastian always made time for her. He greeted her as he always did, with a coffee in one hand and a small plastic bag holding a single almond cookie in the other.

"Good morning Passeri! Today I got you the almond cookie, I'm excited to see what you think!" So excited in fact he remained there, ready to be graced with whatever Passeri had to say to him today.

The towering form of Miranda can be viewed through the window of her dormitory window as the sun steadily rises, still clad in undergarments and legs hooked over a reinforced pole at the top of the door frame as she hangs inverted doing a serious of slow situps. With each set her muscles tense, a steady glisten covering her with her mouth silently moving reading a hanging tablet for several moments each time she reaches the peak, only stopping once the final page of the document is reached and she lets herself down with a heavy thud shaking the floor slightly, casting a glance towards the window as she gets ready for the rest of her morning routine with the sound of country rock playing through the background of the room.

Fast forward through a shower, dressing, cooking on the grill and finally throwing the varsity jacket over the top of her outfit and half zipping it she was ready to face the day and ducking to leave through the door, while she would have rather got a larger jacket size the elastication at least made it suitable albeit tightly fitting. Today was the first day of her new semester and the next stage of her education in both heroics and the sciences and as the fresh air hit her face she really was looking forward to facing it with a wide grin plastered across her face and deciding to enjoy the stroll through the campus to take in the atmosphere of the location and giving a casual wave the shorter students around the area, might as well try and make a pal or three and no time like the present right?.

Sometime later after picking up her books, another good meal and more than a few phone numbers she was set to arrive at the afternoon classes and her first Hero studies course, heading into the class room and taking a seat near the back, it was for the best after all less she block the view for the sorry soul behind.

Emvi Square
Hero Studies
Open for Interaction

Emvi slapped the top of her desktop clock, silencing her six AM alarm before starting to stretch. She had gotten remarkably used to her new pace of life; up at six, morning run, back to the dorm, shower, eat, class, home, work, all-nighter ranked battle sprees on Hyper Hero Rumble, bed before 12, repeat.

It felt kinda weird to actually try, really.

She finished the first portion of her routine with a long upward stretch, extending her arms to the ceiling in an attempt to hype herself up. "Aaall--RIGHT!"

The mass in the bed on the opposite side of the room stirred, letting out a low grown. "Jesus Christ, Emvi," came a croaking, groggy voice.

The hero student pursed her lips, mumbling a quiet "sorry" as she moved toward her wardrobe. She kept her shuffling as quiet as possible, donning whatever baggy, not-too-hot clothing she could grab first. Perhaps true to high-school Vickers, Emvi's efforts only seemed to apply towards things that she deemed absolutely necessary; she had no designated workout clothes--anything worked fine so long as she could move in it and wash it later--and her wardrobe and dresser had devolved into an absolute, disorganized mess, the organizational structure she swore she would stick to failing to last even a single week into the semester.

A loose long-sleeved shirt and sweatpants ended up being her clothing of choice; she slipped out of the room as quietly as she could, tying on her running shoes and popping in her earbuds in the dorm hallway before making her way down the stairs, rotating her shoulders as she stepped out into the early Fall air. She was off after hopping in place a few times, the morning run a rather leisurely one as she looped around her local section of the campus. She hadn't had the chance to explore it all yet, and there was no point in getting herself lost when she had classes to attend to in a few hours. There was something nice about the campus when there weren't too many other people awake and around just yet, despite her replacement of the silence of the open campus pathways with the steady, heavy beats of the electronica in her ears.

It sure kept her going, though, that's for sure.

The forty-five minutes she spent seemed to go by faster every time; in the moment the alarm on Emvi's phone sounded, she could have sworn she had only spent fifteen or twenty over the course of her light run. She looped back toward the dormitory even so, keeping herself near-perfectly paced over the course of the second half of her morning's opening. Her shower went by the quickest; she found she'd been shifting more and more time toward eating breakfast, perhaps due to spending more and more time checking up on the social media antics of some of her former academy-mates. Sometimes it was fun to see where they were now. Other times, it felt crushing. That morning wasn't the first time she had wondered if going to college instead of heading into hero-work was the right choice, and it likely wouldn't be the last. Everyone else seemed to have amazing careers going for them, didn't they?

...Sometimes laying sturdier groundwork takes longer, she reminded herself. Get through college with a usable degree and decent grades, and she'd always be employable--even if the hero industry went bottoms-up. No thinking like future-proofed thinking. Right?

She checked her messenger bag over before leaving the cafeteria. Tablet, check. Paper notebook, check. Pen and pencil cases, check. Assignment book, check. Charging cables...charging cables...Wait no, there they were. Okay.

She snapped the clasps shut, placed her plate and silverware on the revolving conveyor belt by the kitchen's cleaning station, and began making her way to class. "Freshman seminar, first thing in the morning," she muttered to herself, keeping her eyes glued to her phone, swiping her way through feeds and pages as she walked to her first hall of the day. She had time to take it slow--that was part of the reason for setting a schedule, after all. She finally stowed her phone as she found herself in the hallway outside her classroom, stepping in quickly and taking her seat. The first portion of her day passed just as quickly as her run had, moving through her two morning classes nearly on automatic, paying attention to the courses, but not to the clock.

It wasn't until her post-lunch Hero Studies course that she perked up a little bit, patting herself awake as she made her way toward the proper building, pausing outside of the door as she brushed some of her hair to the sides in a half-successful attempt to make herself a little more presentable, even as her more prominent stray strands refused to remain flat for long.

With that, she opened the door, smiled to whomever might look toward the cause of the door's creaking, and took her seat somewhere in the middle of the classroom.

Eloise EpidermisiaShe found a dead cat on the way to the school. It was the first time she had seen an animal’s cadaver so gruesomely splayed out on the side. Maybe it was too slow to evade the oncoming traffic, or there was just no way to avoid it in the narrow alley, so it must have panicked. That, or the driver had been intent on running the cat over. He did a good job, at any rate. The brains of the animal had been splattered across the path. There was surprisingly less blood than she had expected. She crouched down beside the dead animal and brushed her hand against its fur. It felt different from the fur of her own cat. There was no life, and no natural warmth, even with her hand nestled inside its fur. Of course, there was no rise and fall of respiration either. She moved her hand to its destroyed head. It was a clean death, all things considered. It didn’t suffer.

Hm. She wondered if…

She pressed her hand down on the cat’s body, lightly, and waited. When nothing, except some more blood leaking out of the open wound, happened, she lifted her hand off it. She didn’t think so. Whether it was because it was an animal, or it was dead, she couldn’t take in its flesh. She’d make a mental note to test this theory out. But where would she find a dead body? A living animal was easy enough, but she doubted they would let her suck out its flesh from them. The scratches and bites were negligible, but she didn’t want to give herself more hassle than it was worth. It was merely a curiousity more than anything else. She straightened up and brushed herself down, accidentally smearing a tiny bit of blood onto her jacket. She glanced down at the stain, and paused for a second, contemplating if she should just head home and change out. Finally, she shrugged, and tucked her hands into her pocket. It was just a stain. There was nothing to worry about.

The shortcut took her through especially tight corners, but it was nothing she couldn’t squeeze through, and by the end of her route, she was already facing the school. Maybe it was her preternatural luck she had to thank, but she had not encountered any cars that would have her suffer the same fate as the cat...if she were even able to. She adjusted her bag on her shoulders, keeping an eye on the car that had just pulled up at the school’s gates. A classic, it would seem. Not too rare around these parts, but it certainly drew some attention. Most nice things did. They spoke of wealth, and most were drawn to wealth. The door to the car opened, and Passeri Song stepped out of it. She said a goodbye to the driver, and shut the door. From the interaction, it seemed like she was close to the driver, more so than one would be with a chauffeur. The affectionate name she used to refer to the driver, however, may indicate that it could be someone unrelated to her. Or someone from the extended family, rather than a direct relative, perhaps an uncle?

Why did she have such a interest in Passeri Song? Perhaps it was because the rest of the other students were so dull, so boring. There was nothing fascinating about a straight line. Passeri Song, however, showed something else. Something else underneath that veneer of cheer and supportiveness. It called out to Eloise, as if inviting her to find it. Try as much as she did, she could never find the same quality in the other students. They all showed their cards easily, and without much prompting either. There was no depth to them. It, dare she even say it, bored her. She followed behind Passeri Song, as she made her way to class, and watched as that milksop of a man chat her up, offering her a cookie. His name was Sebastian Stone, but Eloise cared little for him, at least for the moment. Passeri Song drew attention from so many people, especially the males, and each of them were as weak as the next. They never had the guts to do anything more than just try to chat her up, find an excuse to get close to her. That was how she was so popular on the Internet too. Such a bright, shining hope, that everyone was so attracted to. A lamp in the midst of an army of moths. Eloise, herself, was but yet another moth, but one that kept its distance.

But something was roiling within that hope. Was it…? No, it cannot be. She slid slowly into a seat at the back of the class, her body completely ignoring whatever Passeri Song was doing, but she was still watching. She yawned and stretched her hands out, nudging the other student beside her- a blonde giant of a lady, the one known as Miranda Gomez. “Ah, man, I didn’t get much sleep last night. How do ya keep your energy like that? Yer glowin’ like it ain’t half the day gone already.” Just small talk, a smile, the countenance an acquaintance would keep. To the world at large, Eloise was chatty, and sociable, just a little odd at times. That was how she intended to play it, for the long run, at the very best. Gomez was a lamp of hope as well, and she glowed with passion, but that was all she had in her. There was nothing hidden within. She wore everything on her sleeves.

Resting her arms widely over the backs of the lecture seats the blonde turns with a grin to look down to the sight next to her and speaking in a with a heavy Texan drawl "Howdy there, ah mean got a good 6 hours so for energy department the tanks still pretty full, plus while the big'ol portions im accustomed to are a bit lacking since yall like to serve kiddy meals just getting a few of them to keep me running through the day so its all good. I mean only have half the day is gone, been mostly reading and listening so hard to actually burn any of it, keeping active though certainly keeps you aware ya know" chuckling deeply ton herself towards the end as she regards them "But hey we've howdied but not shook yet, Names Miranda, Miranda Gomez...nice to be making your acquaintance" reaching her hand across and down to offer her hand.

Might as well add one more little lady to the list, especially if they're going to be sharing the class, taking a moment to look her over they seemed nice enough, a looker, chatty though did have a bit of a air about her especially with those looks they passed over, hmm hard to put a thumb on it but hey that's part of the fun on getting to know someone for good or ill. Seemed to have a few friends across at the front they were interested in and that yawn and nudge wasn't exactly new to her, heck more than a few fellas had pulled that one on her but in a different way, then again hard not to nudge her...they really should make these seats a little bigger, the plane over had been bad enough but at least they didn't charge her for two....again. But hey they seemed to want to be a friend and she wasn't the type to turn one away, so might as well pass the time until the teacher gets his caffeine injection and comes about to start the class.

Miles Watkins
******
It was 6:30am when Miles Watkins woke up, lightly pressing his alarm clock as he let out a yawn while stretching out his arms. Despite being learn and somewhat frail-looking upon first glance, Miles still had some parts of his body that were toned, namely his arms and abdomen. Stretching his back as his eyes loosely adjusted to to being awake, the young, blue-haired man would slide off of his bed to turn on his lamp on top of his nightstand, letting there be light in his room. Decently sized with pricey furniture, neatly organized shelves and an impressive computer setup, Miles would head over to his dresser to grab the clothes he wanted before making his way to the bathroom.

From 6:40 to 7:00, Miles would take his time getting cleaned up in the bathroom, starting things off with a hot shower. He could feel a warming blast of relief course through his body as he felt the warm water from the shower head pelt against his body, making sure to wash himself thoroughly with peach-scented soap and shampoo before exiting. He would spend the rest of his time in the bathroom brushing his teeth, gargling mouthwash, flossing his pearly-white teeth and putting on expensive deodorant before getting dressed in his neatly folded clothes, which consisted of a white, buttoned-up shirt, some black socks and a pair of smooth blue jeans. When he was hearing them, however, Miles would frown.

“Shoot… gonna have to find time to iron these out.” He to note him himself, spotting the wrinkles and creases that covered his shirt and pants. But alas, because he had to move onto the next part of his morning schedule, Miles would let out a sigh of annoyance as he left the bathroom and exited his room, making sure to be extra quiet as he walked down the hallway to avoid waking up his parents.

7:00-:7:30 would be his breakfast, where Miles would cook himself a tasty omelette with peppers, onions, and shredded cheese; it was a meal fit for a king. Even though the shower helped get him out of his drowsiness, it was the omelette that gave Miles the vitality he needed for today, and he grinned with satisfaction as the omelette painted his taste buds with it’s many flavors. However, after looking at the time and seeing that he needed to leave soon, Miles' eyes widened with shock as he quickly scoffed down the rest of his meal, washed down his throat with a glass of water, and then hurry out of his house with his bag.

******

As he made his way down the university hallways, passing students would turn towards him with expressions of admiration and awe. Due to the calm and formal attitude he usually carried, Miles often gave off an aura of prestige and intelligence wherever he went. This, combined by him being a bit of a social butterfly, make him a popular character in Lakewood State University. Not that he was the most popular student in school, nor did he really care about the title to begin with.

Today was quite a special one for Miles; it marked his first day in his new semester, something he had been extremely eager for. Not only due to the classes he'll be taking (Creative Writing, Humanities & Social Science, and Art Studies) but also because he and his best friend/boyfriend Yui would be taking the same Heroics class together! Despite their polar differences, Miles had known Yui for quite some time, now, and had been through so much together over the past few years they've known each other. If anything, seeing Yui again would be the most exciting part of this new semester, besides starting his training on becoming a fully-fledged hero and majoring in English.

After a while of walking, Miles would finally spot the Heroic Studies class and entered, thinking to himself in excitement as he opened the door, “Alright, Miles, you got this… you are a top-of-the-class student with a bright future ahead of him… and plus, Yui will be here, too! And if the other students in this class are as dignified and proficient as I am, in theory… training to become a hero should be a breeze.”

With that, Miles entered the room, taking a moment to analyze the classroom and it’s denizens before finding his seat in the middle of the room. From there, he began to take out his notebook, pencils, pencil sharpener and erasers from his backpack and neatly organize them on his desk in preparation for class to start...

Nadia Oleysa Stasyuk

Nadia was already up and getting dressed well before her alarm had went off. Nadia was about what one might expect for one who had always worked hard to get good grades in high school and always attempted to keep an organized life. In front of the mirror she stood looking at herself having dressed up in a rather nice button up white shirt and her slightly above knee length blue skirt. Condensation built up against the mirror as her chilly breath escaped. It wasn't unusual for her body temperature to be a bit colder when she first got up. Her quirk absolute Zero tended to be one that was always active to some extent within her making her body much colder then normal, though she had the ability to always make it colder... much colder. She relaxed herself allowing herself to warm up a bit more. She didn't exactly want to come off frigid around others... granted it was something she had been praised for plenty of times in the past during rather hot summer days where she tended to try and keep herself purposely colder.

Grabbing her things Nadia didn't waste any time in departing for school. Leaving early it meant she had more then enough time to walk there prefering to do so over taking transportation as much as possible. College with a side of hero work gave her much less time to fit exercise in so getting a bit extra on her way to classes seemed like the best way to help keep more in shape. You had to be fit for hero duty. A smile filled Nadia's lips with excitement as she headed to what would be her first day of college.

~~~~ Later in the Class ~~~~
Nadia headed to the Hero class her eyes lingering down to her phone as she went about texting back her friend in brief careful to mind where she was walking sending words of encouragement. Her eyes shifted back up as she noticed a figure paused before the door. She looked on as he seemed to be in thought, the blue haired man pause while somewhat brief seemed to show some hesitation. A smile formed on Nadia's lips as a part of herself began to come to life... her insistant need to butt in and be a bit nosy when she thought someone might need help. It was a trait that... while it could be good it also was pretty easy to cause some problems. She had a tendency to want to help others and prep them up when not everyone she thought might need some help actually needed it. As he sat down in the middle of the classroom she approached. Her hand gently was placed on his shoulder avoiding getting a firm grip electing a much more gentle touch.
"Hello! A little bit uneasy? Its quite a rush the first day, particularly when it comes to a class like this. If they let you take it though I'm sure you must of done really good in your high school classes and are more then talented enough! It's always good though to work to learn more! The more things you learn the better you are off, not just in hero work but in life in general! Not to mention you seem more then organized and prepared to take on this class. " Nadia spoke in a rather chipper mood nodding in an attempting to spark a sense of excitement in him and to push away any nervousness she viewed he might have. Her hand had slipped off his shoulder well before she finished talking instead gripping her strap to give it a mild tug to fix it up. She always had a bad habbit of needing to come up and speak to people she thought might needed help.
Miles Watkins
******
As he finally finished carefully aligning the pencils on his table, Miles would look up to see a friendly face greeting him. She had short, snow white hair and eyes almost as blue as his hair, and spoke to him with a bright and affectionate tone of voice. Although he had never met this person before until now, Miles couldn't help but feel a sense of enthusiasm from her positive attitude, which helped become more at ease with his situation. Indeed, if the rest of his classmates were as positive and optimistic as she was, then he hoped that working and training with them during what would come in Heroics Studies would be just as good!
After straightening out the collar of this shirt and clearing out his throat, Miles would go on to formally reply with, "Um, yes, you could say that! I usually like to be at my very best when it comes to anything, really. It definitely helps with making good first-impressions and being well prepared, especially when you're out job hunting. But other than that... oh! Hello!"
Miles would then quickly pull his chair out and stand up in order to properly greet the bubbly girl before him, extending his arm to offer a handshake with a welcoming smile, "Since we're going to be classmates from now on, it would be best to introduce myself; my name is Miles Watkins."
Over a week had past. Plenty of time to get settled with the basics, but only the basics. Everything else was still a bit much and still took time getting use to. Not that Robin was one to mind such things. It was fun meeting new people, seeing new things, and getting a second chance at becoming a hero. As they made their way to the classroom for the hero course they made a little detour. With only being there a week there was still so much they hadn't seen on the campus and Robin was going to take every chance they could to explore. But their exploration didn't last long, their detour being slight as they still didn't want to end up late. Nothing more than simply going around the back rather than the front of the building. Bounding up the steps they made their way inside and down the halls, eyes constantly darting to each room to find the one they were suppose to go to.
Finally their search bore fruit and they made their way inside, several classmates already inside and talking among themselves. Robin had made a point of introducing themself on day one, whether they remembered their name or not didn't matter much to the young aspiring hero. After all, they remembered the names of every classmate they had met so far. That's all that mattered, right? As their almost pinkish-hued eyes scanned the room they settled on a lonesome girl towards the middle of the room. While others were chatting among themselves, this girl was sequestered off by herself. A grin tugged at Robin's lips at the sight, those types of people were always the perfect targets. With that in mind the young freshman made their way over. "Mind if I sit here?" The aqua-haired freshman spoke up, coming to a stop in front of the lone woman's desk. Not that they waited for a response as they pulled the chair behind them forward and sat on it reverse style, crossing their arms as they flashed a smile at their classmate. "So what'chya think they got for us today? Can't be more orientation type stuff, right?" They knew from highschool that the start of a course was always boring and basic, but this was a bit too boring and basic as far as they were concerned.
Nadia Oleysa Stasyuk
Nadia watched his reaction seeing as he seemed to straighten himself up before responding back. She had no problem notice how organized and tidy he seemed to be even in his response to her approaching him to speak to him. She nodded lightly in response to his words It seemed as if she had helped in some way ease him down a little, although truth be told even if she had caused the opposite she wouldn't likely know unless he had been more obvious about it. She looked over him briefly as he stood up to give his name before nodding a bit in an attempt to remember it. She tended to take a little longer to recall names by default so she often had to put in a bit of extra effort on her part to remember, particularly with seeing so many different students in her various classes at the university.
"Miles Watkins... Watkins... pretty similar to Dr. Watson from the Sherlock Holmes. Miles is a nice name!" She spoke as if to take a mental note to herself before addressing him directly. She took her own hand extending it out to shake his. Her hand was a bit cool given what most would expect from someone when you might normally shake hands. While she wasn't at all using her quirk in a very active manor she did naturally tend to keep her temperature lower lacking much of that warm unless she thought to keep herself a bit warmer.
"My name is Nadia Oleysa Stasyuk... though don't worry so much about remembering my fully name, Nadia is more then enough." She spoke giving off a light laugh as if to try and calm him down thinking he might be a bit tense. She wasn't use to someone greeting her in that way, both in her hometown and during her time in the university thus far. She glanced about noticing the others around, having seen some of them around before on the campus. She looked over to Miles again before figuring it was prudent to add on more to the name she gave.
"Oh, sorry I suppose it makes sense being a hero class and all to give my hero name Absolute... spelled with a zero instead of an O. It's a little cheesy but I liked the way it was writen out to hold such a meaning. That and the hero name Zero was taken and it was a bit too close in my mind to use it, and you want a hero name that isn't too many syllables. What is your hero name if you don't mind me asking?" She questioned him with a warm smile attempting to be very friendly.
Erica Hill
The smell of grease and oil filled the air as the sound of a socket wrench could be heard cranking a bolt into place with the proper amount of torque to make sure it didn't come loose. The room was well lit, but blackout curtains hung in the windows and prevented outside light from coming through. The girl made the last adjustment and sighed, picking up a voice recorder, "Knight Mark 1, progress report 12... The increase armor at the risk of losing speed should give me the edge I need against some of the heavy hitters, but even when using a lighter metal the plating is pretty thick, making it heavy, I should look at installing some form of water proofing and a jet pack, so in case I get into any situations where I would sink... I may also have to explore ways to increase the battery output and the amount of energy it can hold, also maybe look at installing some solar panels for storage..." she said trailing off into a yawn as she clicked the off button on the recorder. She looked over to to the mess of wires and metal plating that was to be her new suit, though now she had only recently finished the up to the knees, her hard work was beginning to pay off.
As she wiped her forehead with a rag picking up both sweat an grease that had been smeared on as she had been working. "ah, finally time for bed" she said, and as fate would have it her alarm began to sound just as she said it. She looked up with both surprise and shock as she scrambled for her phone. As she looked down the time said 7:00 am, and she groaned loudly as she pulled open the blinds to the sunshine, which made her very bloodshot eyes ache. She hissed and pulled the drapes over herself as the sunlight hit her face, very cliche like. "Dammit" she said as she began to struggle getting off her tank top as she made her way to her shower.
It was a whirlwind of coffee fueled energy and exhaustion as she made her way through the morning classes, and after forgetting about having a test in the morning and not having the time to make her self look good Erica was not looking forward to her afternoon classes, especially because she was sleep deprived and had been awake for more than 24 hours now. It was times like these she was thankful her quirk was thankful her quirk was super intelligence, and hey, having super intelligence didn't mean she was cheating by using her quirk. She sighed and moaned as she dragged her self towards the hero buildings, grabbing another coffee on the way. She had a hoodie on that covered up her messy hair, and behind her glasses her eyes were red and they hurt like a son of a bitch. She walked into the class and sat down in the front row, basically face planting into the desk as she sat down, groaning rather loudly as she did.
"Just in the nick of time, Seb!" With a smile, Passeri took Sebastian's offering up in her hands and set to sipping. "You know, you really don't have to keep doing this, right? I mean I appreciate it and all but..." Her voice trailed off as she unwrapped the biscuit and took a bite. As she munched away, she went over things in her head. Sebastian was certainly a helpful guy if nothing else, but she got the feeling that his playing delivery boy like this was bad for her image.
"This stuff isn't cheap, right? Couldn't you be using the time you're taking out of your day to do this to like ah, I dunno, do guy stuff?" Taking another bite of the biscuit, she turned it over and cast her eyes over the nutritional information. "I'm sure both your wallet and my waistline would thank you for it."
Sebastian aside, the room was starting to fill up with a collection of the usual suspects. She'd already managed to commit their names and faces to memory, even the ones belonging to the people she hadn't spoken to yet. They were, if nothing else, an energetic bunch. Their Quirks ranged from novel to intimidating, and their personalities were much the same. Sipping on her drink, she tuned into a few of the other conversations knocking about the room, listening in on a few social slugs only just now getting to know the rest of the class.
Better late than never, she supposed.
"You made nice with anyone else in the class yet? I think that Damien guy has a teleporting quirk. Maybe you guys could swap notes?" Personally, she didn't know much about the guy. He had some sort of unapproachable sister complex vibe coming off of him that told her to keep her distance. That aside, though, he like the most of the class seemed harmless enough.
"I'm pretty sure there's a few chatterboxes around too. Eloise and Robin are the two biggest culprits, from what I can tell. You should hit one of them up! They're not too bad-looking either, maybe you could score yourself a date~"
Ah, there it was! For a moment, the most beautiful and briefest of moments, Sebastian witnessed that which he hailed as most divine. Passeri has such a lovely smile. Sebastian had seen it so many times already, plenty of times on his phone, a handful of times in person. He loved to see that toothy grin, all too perfect as it was, he loved to know that her smile was a byproduct of his actions. That marker was his indication that his mission was successful, he was allowed to sit.
He took his seat at the table in front of the one where Passeri found herself, he sat to the side so he could both see Passeri as she talked, and keep watch at the front of the classroom. And as she spoke, Sebastian began to tune her words out. Today too, she spoke of the usual things, of that Sebastian was sure. If she spoke to Sebastian's kindness being better spent elsewhere, he didn't want to hear it. If she spoke to the idea of spending time with another, he didn't wish to hear it. Her words fell short of his ears, but her voice, her melodic intonations, her crescendos and decrescendos alike blending together; a perfect white noise from which each individual word was lost in the amalgamation. And a glorious amalgamation it was.
A rise in pitch, a question, maybe? Sebastian tuned back into what Passeri was telling him. She was talking about their classmates. Bringing up the question if Sebastian had made friends with anyone yet. The answer was a tad bit embarrassing. For the last week if he wasn't at Passeri's beck and call he was working on school assignments, and if not either of those, then he was sleeping. His interactions with the other students were sparse outside of the occasional 'howdy neighbor' and what not.
"Well..." Sebastian began his response that tapered off as quickly as it began. He had to think. He looked around, his eyes fell on two people in particular. "Eloise is really cool, a loose cannon type ya know, so cool! I've thought about approaching her, but I feel like my 'cool level' is high enough." His eyes glazed over to the woman standing next to Eloise. "And if I had a nickel for every time I tried to talk to Miranda. Large and loud, blood running hot and Texan to boot! Totally my type. But she would never go for a shy wallflower like me. I think? I dunno. I feel like I'm too shy for both of them. What say you?" And as he finished Sebastian pointing at Passeri, a redundant signal that he wanted her to talk.
Matt's phone threw a violent fit, smacking itself on the bedside table over and over until it gained the attention of one sleeping Matt. Waking up at 5am sharp every day isn't an easy task, especially for someone who has a hard time sleeping normally. "Why is it already morniinnggg." Matt raised his arm and flexed his hand, pulling his phone towards him. Unfortunately using his quirk when he was half asleep led to a loud smack of his phone onto his head. "Fuuu-mmmmh. That's one way to wake up." Matt flicked his alarm off and sat upright, eventually standing up and hopping into the shower. This was the daily routine, take a shower, get dressed, and head to the gym for a couple hours. Doing that before getting breakfast and running to class, since Matt can control metal, not to check the clock apparently. Matt tried keeping an eye on the clock today though, he'd almost been late to class the last couple of days. If he wanted to be a hero he couldn't be late for anything, or else it would become habit.
Matt finished his workout, focusing on cardio today, though when Matt was taking a 5 minute break he checked his phone. Matt displayed what could only be confusion that turned into horror. He forgot about the Seminar, and now he only had about 18 minutes to quickly shower, change clothes, and get food before that. Guess I'm skipping breakfast. Matt rushed to the gym showers and quickly rinsed off, threw on some clean clothes and ran with all his might to make it to the seminar in less then 9 minutes. Matt tried to use his quirk to run faster, which worked for a second, until he realized that he accidentally bent the gutters while pulling himself to them. Luckily Matt knew where the building was, so getting there wouldn't be a problem, it was just a matter of when he got there. Unlucky for Matt people don't respond well when you narrowly jump past them at full sprint, sometimes yelling at you to slow down. "Sorry, gonna be late!" Matt yelled out behind him, sincerely being sorry about being so rude.
Matt finally made it to the doors of the class, pumping his arm in victory since his watch said that he still had 3 minutes to spare. Walking in Matt looked around seeing the room already pretty full, and as his eyes made there way to the middle of the room he saw a familiar face. Matt smiled and took a couple steps, only to notice someone already chatting up Emvi. He... Sh-... They looked cheery though so that was relieving, didn't seem as though they were flirting. Matt walked over, waved at Emvi as he tossed his backpack onto the chair to the other side of Emvi, and put his hand out to the person talking. "Hey, I'm Matt, it's nice to meet you! Seems you already know Emvi. Could I snag your name by chance?" Matt chuckled lightly and held his hand out to be shook. Story Post
"Sharpe!" A man's voice shouted as he began to approach a the desk in the teachers lounge. Stacks of paper could be seen on the desk as no one was sitting at it, instead a rummaging could be heard from underneath it. As the voice shouted a large clunk followed by some of the papers falling over and a pained and overall tired "ow..." could be heard from underneath as the blue haired woman peeked her head up over the desk. there was a man looming over her desk with an impatient expression on his face as he tapped his foot. She instantly shot up and stood at attention, "Mr. Crane, sir" she said nearly saluting him as well, but stopping herself. The man sighed and looked at the mess of work on her desk and now scattered across the floor. "What were you doing below your desk, if you dont mind me asking?" He asked, to which she responded, "I lost my contact, but I've found it" she said, now sitting down in her chair. The man in front of her was considered her boss, not the dean of the college but he was in charge of the hero program. He carried with him a file which caught Christina's attention as he passed it to her. "Here, the city hall is asking us to take care of this one, seeing as its linked to us in some ways, give it to your first year class, it will be a good test to see if they are ready for the real challenges of this school" He said as he walked away. Christina began to look through the file, nodding as she did.
As the afternoon came around Ms. Sharpe made her way to the homeroom of the first year hero students. As she approached she could hear the chatter of those in her classroom, typical for the short break they had before class started. She walked into the room, laying down her papers on the desk, eyeing everyone to get a lay of the land. She was still learning the names of all the students, but she knew those who had their approval, which honestly wasn't a whole lot of people compared to the size of the class. She noticed that Nadia and Miles seemed to be getting along, and Matt was finally talking to someone other than Emvi, though it seemed like he was more or less butting in on Robin's and Emvi's prior conversation. Miranda and Eloise seemed to be having a conversation amongst them selves as well, and both Rebecca and Erica had their heads down on their desks, she suspected for different reasons. See glanced over the twins Damien and Emily, and then over Passeri and Sebastian, which didn't surprise her that either of them were together after all both groups were like peas in a pod. She sighed and coughed loudly to inform her that she was here and getting every ones attention. "Good afternoon everyone, not much to do today, we will just be going over the methods of tracking and surveillance as part of an up coming practical that I'm going to have you all do next week. Oh and before I forget, anyone with approval for hero work stay behind after class, I have something to talk to you all about. I don't see everyone here yet but I'm sure they will show up soon..." She said, to which the mummers could be heard some which were wondering what was going on others who were slandering those who had mission approval as if they were better than everyone else.
The class went on for approximately a hour, which turned out to be a very long and boring lecture, even for Christina, when the students without approval got up and left to go to the next class. Christina sighed a little bit and sat on her desk to rest her legs. "So everyone, we have gotten our first official mission from the town, and I know what your thinking, 'Miss I thought we'd be doing patrol work and stuff like that, whats this about missions'" She said almost mockingly, :Well yes your right, heroes don't do many missions of sorts its more catching the bad guys in the act, but there are times when organisation is needed to take down larger threats" She said. "Well anyways this is essentially going to be a test for you guys, you'll be exempted from your hero classes until its over and you'll be graded on your performance" She said as she flicked the screen behind her back on, flicking to a slide show that just said briefing on it. "So to start off your mission is to find out all you can about a vigilante group known as the Crimson Dawn. As you know vigilantism is illegal without proper government approval, and while we dont see many vigilante groups these guys are well organised and tend to be rather violent with the crooks they take down, essentially they dont play by the rules" she said. "But with that We do have some information on each of the known members. First there's The Leader known as Crimson, Name: unknown, Age: Unknown, Gender: unknown, Quirk: Unknown, apparently crimson has been seen giving orders to the other members and has never been seen using their quirk" She said pulling up a quick picture from some shitty camera of a person in a red suit and cape. "Next up is the one known as Black Ice,Name: Unknown, Age: Unknown, Gender: Male, Quirk: He can create a thin layer of ice that's nearly invisible to the naked eye, unknown if he can do more. Next is the Seer, Name: Unknown, Age: Unknown, Gender: Unknown, Quirk: Unknown, they've been seen with the others but not in combat or using their abilities. Next is Chimp, Name: unknown, age: Unknown, Gender: Female, Quirk: She has hands for feet, good for climbing and she is said to be super flexible" she said taking a quick pause. "We have a nice bit on the last one, Drake Skinner, codename King Cobra. Hes 27, male and he was kicked out of Lakewood University a few years back. His quirk is that he can secret venom through tiny needles on his finger tips that can paralyze someone, or kill them depending on exposure levels. Apparently he was fighting a villain and accidentally injected the guy with too much venom, ended up paralyzing him from the waist down for life" she said. "This mission will be recon only, and if you can turn them in, engaging should not happen. We don't know much about these people because all of their information has been wiped from the systems, though some of the teachers here remember Drake so we were able to recognize his handy work, they likely have a good hacker..." she said trailing off, "Anyways class dismissed.
Emvi had only settled in for what felt like a minute or two before some other voice came from the side, seemingly addressed to her. She looked over, blinking slightly. She hadn't even noticed them sit down; sure she might have been a little busy getting her pencils and notebook out on her desk out of preparation, yet she felt she still would have noticed the... boy? girl?'s approach, at the very least.
"Oh, no, yeah, sure, I mean, you can sit wherever you want, right?" she replied, forcing herself to focus in that instant. It was already beginning to feel like a pretty long day, but it was important that she kept her mind together. Maybe once she was fully into the swing of this whole college thing, it would all get a little easier.
She looked back to her things as her classmate sat down, adjusting the pencils she had taken from her case to keep them as parallel with her paper notebook as she possibly could. The other figure spoke again, prompting her to look up with that same, half-confused look plastered all over her face. Maybe she just looked like that. "Oh--yeah, I dunno what they're gonna have today," she replied, "though going over the basics like we have been is pretty important, considering that we're performing a public service and all, so, I mean..." She could only offer a shrug at that point; whatever their professor offered was what they were going to have to deal with anyway, so chances were there was no real use in complaining. "You're, um...Robin, right?" she hadn't had the chance to soak in everyone's names just yet, but she'd managed to keep some of the more unique students' names in her head, at least for the time being. "Sorry, things are going by so fast, so like--I'm not super..." she gestured vaguely, offering something of an awkward smile to fill the distance between her words. "...up with everyone's names just yet, and stuff."
The sound of a more familiar voice reached her ears right before she felt things could get too awkward, much to her relief. "--Oh hey Matt," she said, reaching up to adjust her hair once again as she offered the other student a smile. Looking back down, she decided to busy herself with her things, allowing the other two space to chat until class was bound to begin. It wasn't until their professor walked in--and mentioned that those with licenses should remain after class--that her attention snapped back to the world around her.
---
Emvi could barely force herself to remain attentive for the entirety of the course period; her constant mulling over what they could possibly want the licensed students for wouldn't leave her alone. Were they being sent out to the field, or were they simply going to be told about some event they should go to, or some sort of advanced training? There was definitely a non-zero chance of them being sent out on assignment, though such was coming rather suddenly if that was indeed their instructor's intention.
Then, the briefing came, and Emvi's attention immediately resurfaced.
She turned a page in her notebook, jotting down as much of what their professor said as she could, showing more fervor in that one moment than she had for the entirety of the class, maybe even for the entirety of that day.
"Wait, Professor--" she called, looking up as their instructor announced their release, "do we have any locational leads? Any places we might be able to head first? Where they were last seen?"
"Thanks!" They said cheerily to the girl's approval. The girl really did seem like a stiff as far as Robin was concerned. Always had that dumb 'what?' look on her face and seemed pretty boring every time they spoke to her. But then, that made her just their type. Still, the girl's response caused him to pout and lean forward on her desk with a disapproving groan. "But that stuffs boring." Before Robin could complain further they perked up at the question as to their name. Clearly not everyone was as committed to remembering people as they were, at least she was right though. "That's right. Robin's the name!" At her apology and excuse they just shook their head. "Don't worry about it, you remembered my name anyways... Even if you were unsure..."
A new voice nearby drew their focus. Matt, the boy always around Emvi. Were they dating? Hell if they knew, hell if they really cared. With a smile they extended their hand and took hold of the boys, giving it a firm shake accompanied by a small laugh. "You're even worse than Emvi. Name's Robin." With the greeting out of the way they released the boy's hand, looking back at Emvi for a moment before once again returning their focus to Matt. "So it only took a week but at least now you know my name." They were about to continue before a cough interrupted them and drew their focus. Their teacher had finally shown up and so Robin glanced back at the pair to whisper "Looks like it's lecture time." Turned out their words would prove prophetic as the next hour was, indeed, just one long lecture. A lecture they briefly fell asleep during.
It was only thanks to the commotion at the end of class that they managed to wake up, not even remembering dozing off. With a small shake of their head, a yawn, and a quick rub of the eyes they were back in action. It was a good thing they were requested to stay behind, gave them a good excuse not to move too much as they woke up. Their sleepiness was swept away as their interest was fully grabbed by their teacher. Mission? Hero work? Now that's what they were there for. It being simple recon was kind of a bummer, but it sure beat sitting there and being lectured to. They looked over their shoulder as Emvi spoke up asking for more details. All good questions to be sure, though it did make them think of a question of their own. So quickly following up Robin spoke up loudly. "To add to that, we doing teams? Because something tells me sending a dozen college kids out to do recon wouldn't work too well." Or maybe it would? Who knows, but every cop show they ever saw sure didn't have a dozen cops roaming around like some street gang looking for clues.
Feeling: Excited & Curious
[/div][/div] [div class=Content] Matt's smile faded after he asked their name. He should have known it already. Though the way they responded brought his smile back, since they were outshining his smile at the moment. He moved his hand up behind his head scratched the back of his neck, he looked down at the floor for a moment before looking back as he spoke. "Yeah, sorry, I should have known it day one, I've always been bad with names." Matt wanted to continue the conversation but the teacher had found her way back to the classroom. He sat down and shut up, but he didn't look at the teacher too often, he was more busy roughly make a crappy sketch of Emvi. She lost herself in her own world often, and he could always tell because she wouldn't respond to what the teacher was saying. He wondered what she thought of him, he's changed a lot since he met her. Unfortunately something that did change were his feelings, being just friends is hard. Being so close to what you want but not being able to move your arms and grab it is surprisingly defeating.
Matt could stare at Emvi for a long time, but when she suddenly started listening to the teacher it reminded Matt that Emvi wasn't the only one zoning out. Matt started to also listen in to what the teacher was saying, and he was suddenly hit with realization that there was something important to do. Patrol & recon? That's gonna be kind of boring. Maybe I can talk to the locals and ask if they've seen any suspicious activity. I don't know how long that black ice lasts for, but maybe that could be seen somewhere. Matt's brain quickly switched subjects to try and think of how he could get as much information as quickly as possible. He was trying to think of all of the back roads and shortcuts he could think of to get places faster. In the middle of his thinking though, he heard Emvi ask about location leads, that was smart. Then Robin asked about teams, which was also a good idea. Matt wouldn't pass up the opportunity to hang out with Emvi, but at the same time being alone with her was hard sometimes. "I think groups are smart, maybe groups between 2-4 as to not cause suspicion." Matt smiled and looked at Emvi, then looked at Robin. "If we are doing teams I call Robin and Emvi. I think that we'd all work well together." Matt didn't really know how well they'd work together but he still felt a little guilty for not remembering Robins name, and again, being alone with Emvi was awesome and terrible at the same time. Miles Watkins
******
"Haha, well thank you!" Miles would blush and rub the back of his head from the girl's comment about his name, "That has honestly got to be the first time anyone has ever said that about my name. I mean, I feel that I could make for a great detective with my strategic skills and such, but no-where near Sherlock Holmes' level, unfortunately." From there, the girl would go on to introduce herself as Oleysa Stasyuk, or Nadia for short. Even though they had first met, Miles admired Nadia's well-mannered and welcoming demeanor, and, if his assumptions were correct, she also seemed to be well-read, too!
"Absolute...
Absolute.... simple, but effective!" Miles would reply when Nadia told him her hero name, "As for my hero name, I don't really have one set in stone as of right now now, but one name that I'm very much thinking about using is Tide Blu-"
Suddenly, his sentence would be interrupted when he heard else someone enter the room; their teacher, Ms. Sharpe. Quickly turning back towards Nadia, Miles would go on to say, "Tide Blue, but we can talk more about it later if you want!", before returning back to his seat and readjusting his pencils before sitting with his back straight and his hands held together on his desk, ready to start the day.
As he expected, class today had proven to being long and grueling, mostly due to the fact that it was mostly lecturing. However, Miles made sure to remain diligent and focused throughout Ms. Sharpe's lecture, writing down everything the was saying in hos trusty notebook. He even went as far as to write down the mission she would talk about before letting everyone leave, as well as each of the members of the intimidating Crimson Dawn. Even though he had his concerns about these villains, though, he chose to keep quite instead as he continued to write, before closing his note book and heading out of the room, before kindly saying to Ms. Sharpe, "Thank you! You have a good day!"
But just as Miles stepped out of the classroom, though, a sudden thought would appear in his head... where was Yui?
Mio Satou
Mio rolled over in bed as her alarm began to beep endlessly. She groaned as the sound was deafening and she slammed her hand down onto the radio, not realizing that exposed skin had touched it. She opened her eyes just in time to see the radio begin to shake, signifying that the molecules had been excited. "Shit" She said rolling over and covering her self with her blanket as pieces of plastic were sent flying across the room, leaving not much more than the radio's now damaged internals on her nightstand. She lived with a rather destructive quirk, and because of it she had to have most of her things made specially so they wouldn't blow up, her clothing, her bags, her bed, her blanket, and all the things she would use in every day life were made so that they wouldn't blow up. Unfortunately though alot of things couldn't be made like this, so for her even getting a glass of water was a nightmare as the fear of glass shards firing off in a million different directions was a lot worse than an exploding alarm clock. She sat up in bed looking at the carnage and sighed, no real damage thankfully except to her alarm clock, which made it a little better, but she would still have to go buy another alarm clock.
She stood up out of bed, socks already on her feet so that she didn't made the flood explode, and she picked up her gloves, ever so carefully and put them on. She walked towards her bathroom to get ready for the day. She glanced over her bathroom an sighed, she had toilet seat covers made special, she had to wear shower sandals and a glove on one hand so she could get in and out of the shower and pick up her body wash bottles, she had a toothbrush made from some kind of fur or hair, and special makeup that honestly didn't come in too many shades. Everything in her life right now was really just inconvenience after inconvenience, however minor they were they were inconveniences all the same. She finished up in the bathroom, and came out wearing a long sleeved shirt, sweatpants, gloves, and socks, for once she would like to be able to wear something that showed off her skin a little bit like a tank top and shorts, maybe then she wouldn't be so pasty, but she knew the risk was too great, even having her face uncovered was a risk.
As she walked through her front door she threw her backpack over her shoulder and made her way to school. Her morning classes went by in a flash, and nearly without incident as she had accidentally dropped a pen and it caught her exposed wrist and exploded into a million little pieces, causing a slight fright among those in her class as they guarded themselves from flying shards of plastic. She made her way to her afternoon hero classes, sitting through the lecture as she yawned and tried to pay attention. When the lesson was over she stuck around in the class room, and listened in on what the teacher had to say about the vigilante group that they were suppose to track. She heard a couple students ask questions, one in particular ask about teams. Mio knew she wouldn't be any good on a team, her quirk was too volatile and she would likely cause more trouble for her teammates than she would help.
Kenji Agamoto
A Few days earlier
Kenji Had only been in the city for a short while, he was still amazed on how he managed to get into the college, though for him it wouldn't be easy, to keep the scholarships he was given he had to work twice as hard to come out on top in the hero program. He walked up to the front door of the training center near his apartment complex. He had already been in school for a bit and he was beginning to get use to the feel of things, though for now he needed a place where he could practice fighting and hope to learn some new things. As he walked into the building he came across a class of martial arts students who were in the progress of training. He looked upon the class, keeping a straight face as he watched them do their kata. The Sensei looked back at Kenji and gave a quick "Continue" to his class as he walked towards Kenji. "Can I help you?" The man said, to which Kenji gave a quick bow "Kenji Agamoto, I'm a student at the college, was hoping I could participate in your classes for the time being" he said. The man looked him up and down, "You don't exactly look like your rich or anything kid, I doubt someone like you could afford to pay for these classes, let alone the college tuition" He said about to turn around. "True money's a it tight, but I figured I could help clean the gym in the evenings for admittance" He said, "Also I have a full scholarship at the college" He said. The man stopped and looked back at Kenji, "You can start cleaning tonight, I'll pay you, whether you chose to use the money for these classes or for something else is up to you, though I would assume your pretty strong if you got a full paid scholarship at the school..." He said trailing off.
Present
Kenji was only a few minutes late for class, being up late every night cleaning didn't help with getting up early in the mornings. He walked into the hero class and took his seat, only a couple seats over from a few other students he knew had their approval to go out and do hero work in the community. He believed their names were Matt, Emvi, and Robin from what he had learnt in his time her, and all of them had pretty awesome quirks from what he could tell. As the teacher finished up the briefing Kenji walked over to the small group, and he looked down towards the teacher "I'm also curious, you said this mission was Recon only right? But for all of us here we are quite technically heroes in the sense that we do hero work as part of the college, so would it be safe to say that if we feel like we can take them down and bring them in should we or is it that your hoping we can find enough information on them so that we can bring them in all at once?" he asked. Turning back towards the group he gave a quick smile and said "Hope you don't mind, but I would also like in on this team up, you seem like a group that could keep me from getting bored". He took a seat on the desk next to the group and patiently waited for their reply.
Nadia Oleysa Stasyuk
Just as Miles seemed to be finishing what he was saying the teacher had stepped in to start the lecture causing her to give a light nod of her head in response to him knowing it was time for class. Nadia had been rather attentive during class. While the lecture was rather dry, she tended to be the type who could stomach that sort of content decently well. She actively spent much of her time jotting down notes keeping her attention focused as to not miss any details. Someone like herself who enjoyed going over different literature and material tended to find fascination in information that might be seem menial. Though if someone where to ask her honest opinion she wouldn't at all hesitate to admit it was far from the most interesting or compelling lecture she ever heard of... far from it.
Staying after she watched as Miles stepped out of class remaining herself after. She was a little surprised upon staying to hear the details about the mission. While it was very true they weren't some measly high school students working to get their hero license, it wasn't exactly as if it was expected they would be given tasks in the college. Those tasks tended to be given out by hero agencies... with many of those in part requested by law enforcement when it came to groups who had quirks that would be more dangerous for typical law enforcement to deal with not possessing specialized training in the use of their quirks. She tilted her head glancing to Emvi as she asked for more information, something less she felt she might need to question herself. She looked over to Mathew seeing him seem to elect to be teamed up with certain people. She felt the need to speak up.
"When it comes to hero work... it should be less about personal preferences of who you work with and more about who you would be most effective with with a combination of your quirks and abilities." She spoke as if to give a small lecture lifting her index finger up as if that were to somehow emphasize the point. She let out a light sigh shaking her head as if to ease down on her point a bit. "...I suppose though it is just recon work. We shouldn't really be doing anything too outlandish given we are just charged with attempting to find the vigilantes rather then attempting to also bring them in. Our quirks aren't going to likely be put to much use on this mission unless it directly helps with information gathering. I think it would be good to at least make sure if we split into groups we should try and make sure we have each group have at least one person on each who can help with our task." .
She couldn't help but feel maybe if she was butting in a bit and coming off intruding a little in an attempt to voice concern with how they sorted out teams. It tended to be her bad habit to need to butt in places she shouldn't though, it was very hard to resist.
