I understand your view on Heroes, and I acknowledge it's valid. But you refuse to see my point of view or even consider my motivations valid. You're convinced you're right absolutely and that you can't be wrong. So tell me.

Vincent simply leaned back and let out a loud laugh. When he finally stopped laughing, it was with tears in the corner of his eyes. "I was thinking you wanted to ask something important, but that is funny." He pats the boy's head. "Monsters are big and scary. You are small and could not frighten off a bird. I'd have to be the idiot here to confuse a baby like you for a monster."

Dante didn't flinch away, just staring at Vincent with a strange sadness in his crimson eyes. "The last people who talked like you do tried to kill me because my Quirk was too perfect for a Villain." He spoke quietly, unblinking.

"So... please... Don't try to make me adhere to an image like that. There's a kind of Hero I aspire to be like, and its not like them." He trailed off, moving Vincent's hand off his head. "But, I'll admit... I appreciate not being seen as a Monster. I'll give you that much." He manages a bit of a smile as he turns to walk away.

I'll say, Dante's fun to write for. He's full of contradictions. He presents himself as a self-confident, upbeat and well adjusted kid, but he still harbors doubts because of what he went through. As much as he plays the part of a Maverick what he wants more than anything is just to really fit in and be accepted for who he is.

He wants to be a Hero,but not the kind of hero that would inspire his old tormentors. He wants to give hope to kids who are like he was.

The names of his techniques, at first, seems edgy. But in truth he slaps the name Vampire on it so he is forced to accept that he is, was, and ways will be a Vampire. He knows he needs to embrace this fact and wear it like a badge of honor so that it can't be used against him. (GoT anyone?)

Basically, he's trying to learn to accept himself and his Quirk, which sometimes results in self-deprecating jokes.

Emmy is just cute. Half the time she’s cute for acting childish and half the time she is cute for denying her cuteness and childishness

MJ is sort of all over the place sometimes she can be messing around with other people other times downright violent. Sometimes studies because she wants to other times because she can picture Lexi's dumb face taunting her and that's the only motivation to start studying, etc.
