"Heh yeah, the last three were pretty tough"Clem agreed "and if you don't like toru like that, why are you getting all stuttery and defensive?" she asked with a grin "if it helps I may have a small crush as well" she offered with a chuckle

Aika's chest tightened at what Clem had said. She thought that she had meant that she had a crush on Toru, and she had no idea why it hurt to hear it. 'He'd be better off with her...she's so sweet and kind and has such a pure soul...' Aika thought, staying silent and straight-faced.

She noted her silence, "wait...do you think I like toru too? No, its s-someone else" she said, her cheeks a deep red, not wanting to say who. Heading to the kitchen and starting on cookies. A futile attempt to escape further questions

Aika felt guilty for assuming before asking first. "I'm sorry...I tend to overreact sometimes..." she said, making sure to be loud enough for Clem to hear her. "And I hope that we'll eventually be close enough to be able to talk about things like this without being embarrassed" she added more quietly.

"heh its okay" Clem said with a smile, sneaking a pointless glance back at aspen and clems cheeks blushed a notable red as she quickly focused on cooking hoping aspen didn't notice, nodded to aika in agreement "me too haha" clementine agreed quieter

Even if Aspen didn't notice, Aika saw the action in the corner of her eye. She found it extremely cute and it brought a smile to her face. 'She's so adorable. I really hope it works out for them' she thought.

She had zoned thinking of what aspen might look like and hadn't realized she had given herself a nosebleed from blushing "H-hey Aika, can you take over cookie duty for a minute? She asked, heading to the bathroom and retreiving tissue and wipping up any blood that may have dripped, sitting on the bathroom counter, waiting for her nosebleed to stop.

"Yeah, no problem" Aika agreed, trying to hide her smug smirk as she measured out all of the ingredients. She followed the cookbook by the letter, becoming very concentrated on her tasks. Once she was in this mode, the world around her was meaningless to her. As she finished making everything, she carefully placed the cookie sheet in the oven, smirking victoriously. She felt as if she had made a big accomplishment, even if it was just baking cookies.

After Clem took care of her nosebleed she returned to find that the cookies were already baking "thanks Aiko, i'm gonna go get comfy" she said, sitting next to Aspen listening intently to whats going on, hesitantly resting her head on Aspen's shoulder and closing her eyes, listening to the movie and enjoying the smell of baking cookies

'I wonder if Toru likes cookies...' Aika thought as she watched the sweets bake in the oven. "Does he have a sweet tooth like me?...Or does he not like sweets...I wonder what the best sweets to give someone is...should I even be thinking about this?..." she was muttering, her face unintentionally serious and she swirled her earlobe jack around her finger again.

Clem was comfortable resting on Aspen's shoulder and listening to the movie , lightly blushing as well "how are the cookies coming Aiko?" Clementine asked before returning to the movie, slightly dozing off on Aspen's shoulder. Her heart swelling with adoration

Aspen looks at Clem laying her head on her shoulder with wide eyes not knowing how to deal with it but not daring to do anything. She turns her head towards Aika not saying anything but pleading for help silently not knowing what to do in this situation clearly panicking.

"Huh?!" Aika instantly snapped out of her muttering. "O- oh, yeah. They're just fine" she replied. The girl saw Aspen's awkward situation. "Hey, Clem, you're the best baker out of us, right? Think you could give me your opinion on these cookies?" she called out to the sleeping girl.

Feeling Aspen turn her head she sat up blushing deep red" s-sorry i-I...Uhhhh...I m-meant to...Uhhhh...Ummm" she stuttered searching desperately for an excuse "u-uhhhh" she was unable to find words "s-sorry asp" she apologised Blushing even more as she scooted away 'idiot can you be any more akward' she scolded herself mentally before getting up to test the cookies

"Just relax, she's just not used to the close proximity, give it some time. She'll come around" Aika whispered into Clem's ear as she got into the kitchen. She then gave her friend a soft, comforting head pat and a soft smile. It was an action that her father did when she had a bad day.

Aspen gives Aika a look of gratitude 'that was close' "Are the cookies done yet" She asks since she can smell the cookies "they smell really good" She then decides get up and starts walking towards the kitchen

She chuckled and accepted the pats "heh I know It was worth it though" she said in in equal tone taking a soft cookie, taking a bite and nodding and sitting on the other side of th couch, still really embarresed

"Yep. They're done. Do you like them straight out of the oven or after they've cooled down a little?" Aika asked Aspen as she walked into the kitchen. All of a sudden, her phone started ringing. The ringtone was Thunderstruck by AC/DC, so she immediately knew who was calling. "I gotta take this!" Aika said as she stepped into the bathroom so that the other two girls wouldn't have to listen to her conversation. "Hello?" she said into the phone. "Hey, Sparky!" an enthusiastic voice sounded from the other end.

Clem just nibbled her cookie in silence 'well I done fucked up...' Clementine thought to herself as the akward silence pressed onm Clem bein to scared that she will further fuck up the situation when it was already hella akward

Aspen grabs a cookie and starts to eat it. "Huh this is actually really good" She says "Hey what's your favorite animal" She asks Clem not wanting to just sit here in awkward silence with her since Aika left them alone.

"Hey, dad!" Aika greets back excitedly. "How'd the exams go? Did they give you any trouble?" he asked curiously. "To be honest, I almost short-circuited on the last few" she said with an embarrassed chuckle. "Hey, don't worry about it. I'm sure you did great!" he assured his daughter, which made her smile. "Thanks, dad!" she chirped. "Alright, now, there's another reason why I called..." he began, his tone turning a little more serious, yet sad. "What's wrong? Did something happen?" she questioned with concern. "Well...uh..." he was having trouble finding the right words. "Y- yeah?" she urged him to continue. "I'm really sorry, Sparky...I won't be able to see you this weekend...or the next two visiting weekends..." he said regretfully. It was like Aika's world had shattered. She dropped her phone before falling to her knees.

Clem Shrugged "don't know, never seen one" she admitted "how about you?" she asked, glad that aspen broke ice again. Clem probably would have been to embarresed to try and get convorsation going. Hearing a thud in the bathroom Clem went and knocked on the door "you ok?" she called in

"Y- yeah...I'm fine!" Aika replied, trying to keep a happy facade. She looked at her phone, which had ended the call when it hit the floor. 'I didn't even get to ask why...' she thought as she picked up the device, her hands trembling. Aika tried to calm herself down and forced a smile as she exited the bathroom. "What did I miss?" she asked, trying to act normal, even if she was freaking out on the inside. "Y- you know what? I think I'm gonna head back to my own dorm. I've been too much of a bother already" she said with a chuckle as she made her way to the door. She didn't want to break down in front of her new friends, since she hated making people worry about her.

Clem frowned "O-ok I guess, see ya Aika" Clementine said with a small smile and a wave, grabbing a couple cookies and loading them into a plastic bag and handing them to Aika before taking some into her room, sitting on her bed idly sketching. Feeling no need to stay out in the living room while she munched on cookies

Aika was silent as she walked to her dorm, ignoring everything else around her. When she got inside, she locked the door and then crawled into her wardrobe, pulling her knees to her chest as she quietly cried. "Did I do something wrong? But I did a good job on the exams...h- he promised to take me to the amusement park if I passed. I even made friends like he wanted me to..." she whimpered to herself quietly.

She decided to stay in her room for the rest of the day.
