Nobody's Perfect...
Cal grunted a little when Dominic nudged his foot, coming to. “We there?” He muttered, sitting up in his chair and looking out the window. “Thank fucking god.” Cal sighed, relieved. As Dominic disappeared into the back to wake the girls, Cal stood and stretched his arms, shaking off any remnants of sleep.
“Well, the hard part’s over,” Cal commented when Dominic reappeared in the main cabin. Or at least he hoped it was. They had successfully delivered the cargo to their destination. Now they just had to keep them there, which wouldn’t be hard considering the place looked to be an island.
The tattooed man’s attention turned to Cameron automatically when she made her way up to them. He met her eye for a moment before she complied with Dominic’s gesture for her to depart.
Cal laughed dryly at Dominic’s “go get em” comment once Cameron was gone. “Yeah yeah. I’m not holding my breath though.” He replied, rubbing his arm where Dominic punched him, more for affect than because it hurt.
Dominic took his departure towards the back of the plane again, so Cal took his, following Cameron down the stairs of the jet. He raised a hand to shield his eyes from the midday sun. The heat hit him immediately, and he slipped his suit jacket off as he stepped onto solid ground for the first time in what felt like days.
“Somewhere most people who are taken would have killed to be.” Cal answered Cameron’s question. “I’d say you lucked out that you were brought here.”

Dominic’s announcement that they had arrived stirred Mia from her sleep. Her nightmares hadn’t let her forget where she was, so she wasn’t surprised to find herself still on the jet. She was however disappointed to see that Cameron was already making her way to the main cabin by the time Mia gathered her thoughts. Mia had hoped maybe they would have a chance to talk before arrival, but that was not the case.
Mia stood from the bed, trying to brush out the tangles that had formed in her hair during sleep. Curious as to where they’d ended up, she peered out the small window of the jet, seeing the tropical locale. Now Dominic’s comment about this being a vacation made more sense. Electing to keep her shoes off for now, Mia picked them up, carrying them in hand. She was about to join the others when Dominic reappeared.
Mia’s brows furrowed at Dominic’s comment about being here indefinitely. “I’m just bursting with excitement.” She replied deadpan, not meaning to be moody, but never the most chipper person first thing after waking up.
“Paradise, huh?” Mia mused, heading towards the door of the jet. “Feels a little more like hell right now.” She sighed, before stepping into the doorway. Despite her comment moments ago, Mia couldn’t help but concede that the destination was beautiful. “Wow...” she breathed before she could stop herself.
Mia recalled that Dominic had said there was a suitcase packed for her, and hoped that a pair of sunglasses had been included. Likely not those, she told herself, figuring another goon had packed for her. The island breeze was refreshing and helped revive Mia from her morning grog as she descended the stairs. In other circumstances, she’d be thrilled to be here and could use the R&R, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
