Futuristic Blood and Oil

Uncultured

Dreamer/Cynic

The year is 2415, long after our lives had past on into the annals of history, the world burned in the resource wars. Long drawn out conflicts over what little oil remained led to large scale nuclear strikes, and the world, once lush and beautiful, became barren and inhospitable.

But somehow, humanity has survived, and even in the wake of a world war fought over black liquid gold, men and women still fight and die for it to this day.

Oil is more precious than water, more precious than life itself.

It is in this world where our heroes and anti heroes have been hired to find a legendary cache of oil, rumored to exist deep within the badlands, a land of cannibals and raiders, hell bent on murder and torture, mutated into insane monsters by years of inbreeding and radioactive exposure.

The city of Brimstone is one of the last safe havens before the wastes of the badlands, it is here where our characters have assembled, hired by an anonymous party to find both the cache of oil and an ancient relic named the Codex, rumored to be located at the site of the cache.

This is a future western, horses have been replaced by land speeders but the concepts are the same. Bounty posters can be found on every notice board and saloons mark every corner of every town. So think of it as a wild western RP set in the future. I'll have detailed lore and a map if I get enough interest.

It has the same title as a new ABC tv show... I wonder if they have anything to do with each other. Probably not interested, though. Just curious.

I may be interested but I don't normally do futuristic RPs and tbh I think 10-15 people is too much if you're looking to make this a long term successful RL

I generally over recruit a little to compensate for drop outs, I'll cap this one at ten members, I agree that fifteen is a little over the top.

Also, this isn't very sci-fi-ish (new word lol) there are some futuristic elements worked into things and technology will play a role but there isn't any heavy futuristic/sci-fi stuff like space travel or massive hive cities or teleportation etc.

tl;dr if someone else asks your character if the bathroom is vacant I'm not gonna expect a manuscript lol.
Probably says something about my maturity level that I giggled at this part. But yeah, I could easily top that. Cool beans. C:

I would def consider joining this then! I do have a lot on my plate right now, so I can't guarantee anything, but I will try to fit it in :) tag me when it's up?
