Fandom Black Butler Time!

"I only tipped you because you did your job nicely," Serephene said, hiding her happy feeling. She laughed along with Grayson. "And not many people are as kind as you."

"Thanks." He cleared his throat and narrowed his eyes, now extremely serious. "Now I'm going to ask you a question. I please ask that you answer seriously." He quickly looks around him. "Do you believe in ghouls, goblins, demons, ghosts, reapers, or any other supernatural beings?"

Serephene's eyes widened a bit at his sudden seriousness, but answered right away. "Yes, I do. Why do you ask?"

Grayson leans over the table and whispers in Serephene's ear, "I have reason to suspect that this city, is loaded with them." He goes back into his chair and smiles at her.

Serephene gazes at Grayson. She leans in a bit, whispering, "What makes you think that there are such beings in this city? Have you encountered one?"

"I have my reasons to suspect." He glances around his shoulders quickly, "I was just wondering if there was somebody in this city that would believe me." He folds his arm and looks at the ceiling.

"I have a couple of books about them in my library, though I never really read them," she said. "But I still believe in them, even though I don't know a lot."

The waiter came by the next minute and set down the ordered meals in front of them, then heading off in another direction towards another table.

Serephene gazed at the Baked Alaska. "It looks so good," she hummed happily.

(hey, I'm back)

Grayson looks at his meal, starved. He takes a sip of his coffee and looks back at Serephene. "Books? Would you mind if I read some them?" He takes out a small butter knife and cuts his danish in half, taking a small bite of it. "It would be greatly appreciated."

(Welcome back)

Serephene picks up her fork and slowly takes a piece of her dessert. "I wouldn't mind at all, as long as you'd return them. The people I live with like to have everything where they should be." She puts the sweet in her mouth, blushing a bit at the taste. It was simply amazing. "You can come by anytime to read them. I have quite a few that my parents left back."

"I'll be sure to return them." He smiles at her. He then gets his fork and takes a bite out of his salad. "Who are these people you live with. Family, Servants, or just other royals/nobles?" He knew he shouldn't have asked such an improper question, but the way she said it always bugged him. He takes another sip of his coffee waiting for her to respond.

Serephene found it strange that she didn't feel uncomfortable when Grayson asked her the very question she avoided earlier. "They're my servants, actually, who were hired by my parents. I don't like to call them servants, though. Most of them are around my age, so it would be more appropriate to call them friends."

"So Amy is one of your friends." Grayson chuckles a little. He then takes another bite of his salad. " You said you're parents left, business, honeymoon, etc." Why do I keep on asking such personal questions, remember Grayson she is simple a nice costumer.

"Yes, that's the way I'd like to put it." Serephene gave a strained smile at his last remark, taking a sip to cover her discomfort. "They passed away."

"Mine as well." He looks out the window. "My father died in a carriage accident, my mother died when I was born..." He takes a bite of his danish again. He then clears the thought out of his mind quickly and looks back at her. "What do you do in your manor?"

Serephene put down her cup, just about to sympathize when he changed the subject. "I don't really do much. I usually spend the day reading...and wandering through the streets of town. I've never seen your shop, though..."

This brings a smile to Grayson's face, "Well, I'm a travelling merchant. I usually stay in towns for a week or 2. but I'll probably stay in London for a bit longer." He finishes off his danish and gulps down some coffee.

"If you want, I have a vacant room you can use for the time being. For free, of course." Serephene finishes off her dessert, her face flushed with happiness that wasn't common for her, unless she was eating sweets. "Or do you already have a place to stay?"

"I mostly just sleep on the piles of shoes I sell. But I greatly appreciate the offer, and I accept." Grayson finishes off his salad and gulps down his coffee. "What would you like to do now?" He asks smiling.

Serephene picks up her cup, pausing to reply before drinking from it. "If you would like to return to my home, we can, unless you have other plans in mind. My schedule is clear today, so I can spend the day any way I want. Is there a particular place you would like to go?" Then she proceeds to take a drink.

"Didn't that Amy girl want a lesson on shoes? I could give you and her a class." He gets his dishes and piles them in the middle. "This meal was definitely worth it." He grabs a toothpick and picks out some left behind pieces of lettuce in between his teeth.

Serephene places her cup on her plate satisfied with the dessert. "Amy is someone who wants to learn about design, more like. She has designing books all over her room. If you would teach her that, it would be better. She is not the type for actually making things. Since your shoes were to her liking, I'm sure sure she'll appreciate it."

"Great!" Grayson stands up ready to leave, "Have you paid yet?" He asks obviously eager to teach his knowledge. "Also, will you be at the class?"

Serephene nodded. "I paid the waiter already." She stood up with him, calling the waiter over and handing him a tip. She turned back to Grayson. "If I won't be a bother," she replied. "Amy would need a lot of guidance."
