Bitter Enemies

Watching her as he took a sip of his beverage, Vince found himself almost entranced. Crinkling his nose at the thought, he quickly dispelled any and all attraction considering that she was being a complete bitch to him. Not that he had seemed to mind all that much. Slowly making his way out of the kitchen, he made his way outside and to the garage build into the house.

Quickly stripping his shirt, Vince looked at the rusty truck he had been trying to get to work for years. Everytime he came close to getting it to work they would switch it for an even more broken one. Much to his irritation. Vince figured he'd at least let her explore and get used to the new cage while he worked on trying to get this thing to work and get out of here. Not that he'd have anywhere to go.

Switching the raido on, he leaned over the engine working on some of the things that needed to be replaced.

Luna could hear the noises from outside but she paid no attention to it. She was way to busy chopping at her steak to care about him working on something with the radio on. Though, the music seemed to entice her. It had been so long since she heard anything besides metal against metal. It almost felt like a dream, though it wasn't with him here.

She was used to males like him. Always dominating, always insisting on being at the top. She was sick of it. As soon as she had finished her steak, her body relaxed. She assumed her human position for a while, enjoying the feeling of two legs, but it was just to cold. Soon enough, she switched back to her paws and stripes, rolling around on the floor and thudding from place to place as she enjoyed freedom. But soon enough, she burst out the door and began running, though the fields, and rolling in the grass, happy, and safe, for now.

Standing up straight, he wiped his oily hands on a rag. Eyes shooting over to the blur of motion in the distance. Vince found himself tense, his blue eyes glowing a little bluer as he suddenly felt threatened by the second presence. It only took him another few minuets to realize it was her and he relaxed a tad bit. Finding it time for her to know who was king, he shifted and shook his mane wildly feeling a little foreign in his own skin. Heading off in the direction she was in, he made sure to tail her not really feeling like being all too social with her yet.

Luna was busy running free most of the time, letting the wind run though her fur as she let her animal run wild in a free enclosure. It was not until she heard a noise behind her that she had the urge to stop. She stopped mid run, her claws raking into the ground as she slowed herself to a skidding halt in the field.

Vince stalked from a distance, not bothering to hide his presence. There was no need after all, it was just the two of them and that wicked tall fence. His sapphire orbs followed her, paws balancing his weight as he nimbly stalked through the tall grass after her. He figured that there wasn't much need to run considering how he used to do that all the time in order to occupy himself, but now....now he had her. As much as an irritant as his new Princess could be at least she was still company. The only thing keeping him sane in a vast cage like this.

The wind picked up a bit, small gusts prickling his albino fur. Spring weather was much too cold for him, he'd rather be inside watching some sort of movie. But no. The little one had to entice him by running off.

Vincent stopped, looking intensely at the female 'cat' realizing that he had had no reason to come after her besides to pick another fight. To get some sort of interaction out of her. He huffed, almost disgusted with the way he craved interaction from a girl who wouldn't care if they marched in here to do to him what they had done to the others.

A small growl rippled from his throat at the memory, the animalistic side of him was itching to tear something apart. Turning his head away from her, he began the shifting process back into a human. Stifling the painful cries as bones snapped back into place and his spine morphed into that of a human's. Sometimes it was harder to shift back from beast than it was to shift into. Cracking his neck and rotating his shoulders, he looked at Luna lazily wondering why she had stopped running all of a sudden. There wasn't much to give a person/animal pause here, besides maybe seeing the wall for the first time.

"Somethin' wrong? Looked like you were havin' fun running around all willy-nilly."

Vince called, crossing his arms over his bare chest. He had forgotten about being shirtless when he shifted, not that it mattered much now.

Luna was completely content on staying frolicking in the fields without her jailmate, but he seemed keen on trying to court her, or fight her. If it came to her decision, she was going to fight him before ever thinking about courting him. Growling, Luna turned towards the albino Lion who seemed to be somewhat exposed in the cold. Hmph, he can't even stand to be outside in this kind of weather. What kind of cat is he? Luna thought, standing her ground in front of him. She could see his muscles ripple and moved as he shifted back into his human form. She cringed at the sounds of his bones snapping, and popping into placed. She almost couldn't watch the gruesome act.

As soon as it was over, Luna looked back up at the man, and sucked in a breath. She was starting to forget that the man who was behind the Lion was about as handsome as a supermodel, or a prince. Swallowing, Luna stood up to the man who insisted on taunting her. She would rather not yell at him as a tiger, she would hate to see herself get carried away and give him a few scars, though teaching him a lesson wouldn't be to bad. With a few seconds of thought, Luna shifted back to her original form, her bones twisting awkwardly as she changed back. A grunt followed by the girl rolling her neck where the bones had shifted the most.

"Well, I was living a dream, and then you showed up."

Vince smiled dryly, watching her shift back into her more humane form. He wondered briefly if she knew how pretty she actually was, how much of a rugged sexy look she had to her. He sighed a little, telling himself that no matter what she looked like the bratty personality would always ruin it.

"A dream?"

Vince inquired, forcing himself not to get caught up with her human looks. He took a few more paces towards her with a perfectly arched eyebrow.

"You call solitary confinement and unethical experiments a dream?" Vince whispered lowly, continuing to slowly saunter towards her. His eyes still blazing that bright blue color, irritation starting to build into anger.

He suddenly stopped, his blazing eyes dulling down a few shades.

"Right....well, excuse the social intrusion. Go back to your dreams, I'll try not to ruin them from now on."

He grumbled, turning on his heels and heading back towards the house. He was getting too cold for this and his muscles were hurting from the shift. He coughed briefly, a small shiver running down his spine as he roboticily moved to a warmer area.

Luna sighed as he stepped towards her, and she stood her ground. No matter how beefed, and handsome the guy looked, he had a certain edge that just, got underneath her skin. Groaning softly, she rolled her eyes, and turned around. "Thank you very much prince, now go be a doll and find a princess tree and have fun with that." She said to him, before turning back, and running off.

Luna sighed as she ran out into the field, smiling as she sat down in the middle of the grass, sniffing the chilly. Smiling, she got up, and ran back over towards the forest, running though the trees, the dirt crunching underneath her feet as she ran, feeling free. The wind in her hair, the smell in the air, she was finally alive.

And then it hit her. Like a ton of bricks. It slammed right into her stomach and created a loud thud and a shock, revealing that she had run strait into a camouflaged wall, with electrocution devices on it. Groaning, Luna heeled over, closing her eyes and trying to ignore the jolting pain in her limbs.

Vince smirked at her snarky reply, a little more than just amused with her quick retort. The girl had spirit. At least he wouldn't be too bored anytime soon.

Shuffling towards the house he made his way halfway inside before stopping. His head turned towards the way he had come and the way her sent wafted from. Only something didn't smell all to ripe and he knew for a fact that there were no other animals in the cage with them. Vince took another deep wif, his expression clouding over once he came to recognize the smell of electrocuted fur. It had the same pungent smell as burning flesh only less....impactful.

Vince only took one step in human form before performing one of the fastest human to lion shifts in his life. Using his hind legs to propel him further and faster, he raced towards where the smell of singed lilies was the strongest. He heard the groaning before he saw her, a crumpled form of stripes and twitchy limbs. Vincent shifted again, this time there was a little more pain involved though he chose to ignore it.

"You're not supposed to run into the fences, squirt."

He whispered, his voice holding a softer tone while carefully hoisting her tigress form into his arms. Standing, he juggled to balance her weight for a second not too accustomed to walking with a giant cat in his arms. Pivoting, he moved swiftly towards the house not wanting to be caught there if one of the men in white entered his territory. This cage was still his home and he'd be damned if anyone hurt the girl who was the closest thing to a friend that he ever had.

Pain. Luna felt a lot of pain in her limbs from trying to run where there was a fence. She was apparently pretty bad at spotting things, and she was leaning into the person that had picked her up. Staying as a tiger was just inconveniencing them both, and using the last of her energy, Luna shifted painfully back into a tiger.

"I should mace you for touching me." She slurred, her eyes half closed as she stayed limp in his arm. It was already bad enough that she was practically dead, she was also going to have to sit with this wrenched man for hours, because if she had left her wounds open she would end up dying by infection.

"You don't have any mace, Doll."

He mused out lowly, shifting her in his arms like she weighed nothing. Vince strategically opened the door, glaring at the camera in the corner of the room before moving to the couch. He placed her there, rushing off to get the first aid kit and a bottle of whiskey. It wasn't like they could get drunk anyway, their metabolisms kind of wore down the alcohol faster then what a normal human could drink. Popping open the kit, Vince looked at her face for another moment before getting to work on patching her up. Trying not to blush too bad a he lifted the bottom of her shirt in order to access the burn across her torso from the fence.

Luna was absolutely mortified as he called her a doll, and she groaned. "You are glad that I am hurt... uggg, or you would be dead." She groaned, before rolling her head into his chest, trying not to pass out. Most of her was completely mortified by the fact that she had hurt herself enough to need tending by such a vile and disgusting man, but part of her was thinking she could get used to the warm feeling of being held by someone else.

She had closed her eyes for only a moment before she opened them to find the ceiling in front of her. Groaning, Luna brought an arm up to cover her eyes, finding it bandaged. Confused, Luna looked around, and then cringed as she felt something press against her stomach, and she looked down at Vince. She could see that he was obviously a bit worried, but was surprised her more was the flushed tone that his cheeks carried. Smiling softly, Luna chuckled a bit, wincing as the laugh pressed against her bruised skin. "Cat got your tongue?" She spoke softly.

@Hell0NHighWater

Vince smiled a little shyly, working at trying to get her midsection bandaged properly. He had taken care of the trival injuries, but this burn was concerning. He didn't know how bad it was, but the blistering around the wound he took as a bad sign. Clearing his throat a little uncomfortable with having her shirt so close to being off. He didn't have much experience with women...any experience. Vince only put the tough guy act on because a friend of his once told him the ladies loved the bad boys. That was a long time ago though.

"I Uh....I'm not used to...Uh..girls, well people, but-.....I'm uh...."

Vince wanted to crawl under a rock and never come out. He tripped over words deciding to just be quiet in the end. Leaning down to tare the medical tape with his teeth after wrestling with it, he blushed a darker shade of pink as his nose brushed her navel on accident. He moved away like she burned him herself, looking completely different from the usual Cocksure Vincent she had come to see him as.

Luna was quite amused as she watched the normally so calm, collected, and flirty Vince fumble for his words and stumble over himself in front of her. It was true, even though they acted like complete opposites, neither of them had any experience with the other gender, and while Luna might have had some, all she had seen where scientists, and those memories caused a cold shiver to run though her.

Looking down at Vince, who had resulted to silent work, she wondered absentmindedly what his life before the cage was like, and what he was really like, though she had a feeling she was seeing some of it right now. She had the sudden urge to pet his silky looking long hair, when his nose brushed her navel, causing her to flush a dark color of red and cringed as her burn came back to sing her. "Ahaaaaa, I might have done worse on my stomach than I thought." She said to him, turning so he wouldn't see her dark blush and turning a strand of her hair.

Vince glanced up at her face, seeing a bit of her red face before she hid it in the couch. He smiled slightly finding her action adorable.

"Try not too push it. Last thing I need is you dieing on my couch."

He stated, placing the extra supplies back into the kit. Placing the metal box on the end table he stood, looking down at her for a moment before grabbing the blanket off the back of the couch and pulling it over her.

"I've got some movies if you want to watch anything.....just...get some rest."

Vince muttered, turning to start walking into the kitchen. Irritated with how hurt she was even though he himself felt confused with the emotions. It must have been because in all his 18 years he had never had an interaction with a girl and that made him suseptable to whatever flutters his heart had made. Glaring at the camera in the kitchen, Vince filled a glass with water before bringing it out to her. He set it on the end table quietly, letting out a small sigh as he did so.

Luna kept her face looking the other way as he finished up with her wounds, and she looked down at him. She flinched slightly as he reached past her, her eyes reflecting a hint of pain, before relaxing as he simply pulled a blanket over her, to which she snuggled into the fabric. She bit down on her lip, her heart thumping wildly like a free bird inside her ribs, running away to it's hearts content as she looked at him. The though of this wildly accelerated pulse scared her, made her want to scream in agony, question everything, but if she showed any of this emotion, he would know what she was feeling, so she had to suck it up and go with it.

"Alright." Luna mumbled, watching Vince leave the room before slowly getting up, with much effort, and hobbling towards the dvd's. She knew he was probably going to scold her for getting up and hurting herself, but she wanted to still be valiant, and independent. Growling softly as she tweaked her abdomen, Luna pressed a gentle hand to the burn and kept moving towards the movies, getting closer by the second to her goal.

@Hell0NHighWater

"Didn't I just tell you NOT to move!?"

Vince's voice sounded strained, a little aggravated with his pacient moving against his orders. Abandoning the glass of water he moved in front of her, blocking her way towards the movies. He frowned at her, placing a hand on her hip as she teetered slightly. "Following orders isn't something you like to do, huh?" He muttered lightly, looking down at her with stern blue orbs. She'd only hurt herself more if she kept moving before her advanced healing caught up with her. Vince gently picked her back up, placing her gingerly back on the couch.

"So help me, Luna, I will restrain you to this couch if you try and get up again."

He threatened, pretending not to have been effected by anything that had just happened in the last few moments. Vince moved over to the DVD's a pulled out a small stack bringing them over to her. He set them down beside her so that she could pick out what she wanted while he went to turn on the TV.

Luna was about to reach the movies when a stern voice behind her broke out, causing her to flinch. She let out a soft hiss of disappointment as Vince walked in front of her and placed a hand on her hip, causing the heat from her heart to rush to her face, her cheeks blazing as she looked away from him. She hated feeling this weak, but whatever Vince was doing was making it worse. She could feel his stern gaze burning into the top of her head, and she looked down at her feet, ashamed in herself. "Sorry." She mumbled softly, letting him pick her up and practically drag her back to the couch, setting her down.

As he threatened to restrain her, a crooked smile came to Luna's face, and she chuckled a bit. "And how might you do that exactly?" She asked him, having the urge to sit up, but deciding finding out by her own means wasn't going to do much good. She looked over the dvd's and picked out Pay It Forward, and handed it to him, the stupid smile still stuck to her lips.

@Hell0NHighWater

Vince shot her a sideways glance, a small smirk pulling at the corners of his lips.

"I've got many methods, all of which involve me on top."

He teased, well aware that his reply had a double meaning. Taking the movie from her, he flipped it over briefly to read what it was about before shrugging and popping it into the player without a second thought. Waiting a few seconds for the blue-ray to read the disk, he hit play on the remote as he sat in the recliner next to the couch leaving her with the entire six person couch.

Vince leaned back in the chair, watching the beginning of the movie and starting to relax a little more. He hadn't realized how tired he felt but before he knew it his eyes were closed and he had been swept off to dream land.

Luna was completely confident that her answer would have made Vince think something to make him blush, that was until he flipped the card and caused her cheeks to flush madly again, which just made her groan and pull the blanket he had given her over her face to hide the embarrassment that she was feeling.

Once the movie had started, however, she found herself completely relaxed. It was almost as if Vince wasn't even there, yet at the same time he was. She could hear him breathing slowly and softly from where she was, and soon enough, even one of the best classical and educational movies was putting her to sleep. After a while, she couldn't keep her eyes open, and she fell asleep against the couch, peaceful for the first time in a long time.

Vince woke with a start, inhaling sharply and popping up from where he had fallen asleep on the recliner. It took him a moment to calm down, his blue eyes wide while he hyperventilated, running his fingers through the tangles in his hair. He had had the dream again.

A frown settled on his lips, looking at the rolling credits and the darkened space around him. Shuffling towards the couch, Vince glanced down at Luna to adjust the blanket again for her. Mumbling something under his breath he tiredly sulked off to the kitchen to make dinner. It had been a long time since he had had that preticular dream, but he figured that one of these days the memory would soon come back to haunt him.

Luna, however, did not wake up at the end of the movie like Vince had, and was sound asleep. Though asleep didn't mean it was a good sleep, as most of the time her dreams where filled with nightmares. Most involved needles, a scientist, and some, other things she cared not to mention in public, or in the company of Vince at the moment. As he adjusted her blanket, she rolled over, a soft groan passing though her lips as she curled her fist around the fabric of the blanket, being trapped in her own little nightmare.
