Beyond The Horizon
Underworld. Limbo. Purgatory. Netherworld. This wretched place, where all go to after reaching the impassable limits of their life, has many names. A completely distorted version of the world, with all of the ages combined and compiled in it. Some say it is a paradise, others say it is a prison, but to most, it is but a phase. A test to try and figure out where we truly belong, where we should truly spend our afterlives - either in the beloved heaven, or in the dreaded hell. However, those who had been in there had figured out the truth. It is no paradise, nor is it a prison, and most certainly not a phase or a test. To them, it is a world of its own, where they will get to spend the rest of their life after death. To them, it is known as the Horizon.
The Horizon is filled with many kinds of creatures, good, evil, or whatever it may truly be. Demons are found here, though their numbers are not as many as they are in hell, they still possess a great amount of danger both to themselves and others. These dark beings reside at the southernmost part of the Horizon, where the entrance to their true home, known as hell, lies. They leave this place to prey on unfortunate souls from time to time. Angels are here as well, and like their evil counterparts, their numbers are quite scarce, yet they still contain a valuable amount of power. These sacred beings reside at the northernmost part of the Horizon, where the path to the so-called paradise known as Heaven lies.
The soul. The very essence that keeps one alive in the Horizon. Usually seen as a ghastly orb of a combined glowing blue and green colors, this very thing that keeps one alive, is also the very currency being used in trades and purchases in the Horizon. All souls decay in this world, and will always need to be replaced, thus many, if not all, fight to claim over a soul. All creatures in the Horizon possess this, be they a demon, an angel, a fallen mortal, or something else. The only difference between all of those is that us, the fallen mortals, can only hold up to five souls at a time, when all others have an unlimited storage of souls. In order to be on par with them, we would require the use of Soul Catchers, where we can mimic their ability to contain an unlimited amount of souls.
You are a fallen mortal, who recently died due to whatever reason it may be. After finally accepting your death, and awaiting to arrive at where your afterlife might be, you find yourself waking up at a strange world. You find yourself in the middle of this new world, known as the Horizon. Now, will you go to the north, and reach the heights of heaven, or to the south, and delve deep into hell? Or will you surpass the limits of all worlds, and be an Oversoul?
This serves both as an interest check, to see if this idea could be pulled off, and staff search, to hunt for those who wish to help me make this idea a possibility. There is no ensured date when this would be launched, so stay tuned until the true date is announced in this very thread.
Feel free to ask any questions, and thank you for your time.

However, there are those who bypass this limit. Creatures who have a soul that never decays. Creatures who need not to claim a soul different from theirs. These creatures are known as Oversouls. It is said that they can go back and forth from the world of the living and to the Horizon, without any difficulties at all. No one truly knows how these creatures became what they are now, but at one point or another everyone will desire to be an Oversoul.
