Music Best Movie Soundtracks

You fancy me mad. Madmen know nothing
What are, in your opinions, the best movie soundtracks out there? Share it here. It would also help sharing your favourite piece of the soundtracks as to paint an image for our ears. And it would help us to get an idea of what you're talking about in terms of your personal taste.

For me, it's the Lord of the Rings soundtrack (which, fittingly, is my favourite trilogy of all time). It's just so beautiful, and at times intimidatingly badass (in the case of the Orc/Uruk themes).

I can believe it's been 16 years since these masterpieces were released. I think I felt a tear of nostalgia. Never mind. That's blood.

In second place comes the soundtrack of Ultramarines. The movie was an absolutely god-awful representation of Warhammer 40k lore (and let's not forget that it starred the Ultramarines; a bunch of bloody poncers), but I'll be damned if the soundtrack isn't fucking brilliant.

It's not a movie, but I really like HBO's Westworld Soundtrack.  The same guy who composed Game of Thrones wrote Westworld.

I love his arrangement of Paint it Black.

Goodfellas is one of my all-time favorite. With an arsenal of over 30 featured songs that perfectly capture the spirit and energy of the film, and spans several amazing decades in music history. I simply adore this soundtrack. There's something about old time songs, they just have so much character and spirit.

I love this one in particular:

The movie itself was fun, but the soundtrack make it even better.

Also.. close to you in The Simpsons movie, both the scene and the song was heartbreaking.

Probably Marie Antoinette (2006). I'm too obsessed with this movie. But I really like the blend of classical and pop. I think it fits really well.

I would have said Marie Antoinette, but its been done already, so I'll say The Darjeeling Limited. Loads of songs from the 1960's, as well as Middle Eastern stuff. Really atmospheric.

Star Wars.
Sure not all music there is equally memorable, but things like Force theme, Binary Sunset, Imperial March, Battle on Yavin, Duel of the Fates, Anakin and Padme theme (I forgot the name)...
Oh yes. I can listen to that many many times. I like music from most Star Wars movies, especially the original trilogy, because the later movies often remix and reuse tracks from there.

The Last Samurai, LOTR, Conan The Barbarian (Arnold movie), Under The Tuscan Sun, Tron: Legacy.

I forgot.. Merry go round from Howl's moving castle, it's really a beautifull one,
also my list is very long, but heh, you got an exemple, why are you so good, Ghibli movies?

The entire Oblivion soundtrack is magnificently energetic and atmospheric. I often write while listening to it. But one song from it in particular, titled Starwaves, reaches the level of what I consider to be a masterpiece. And I don't use that label lightly.

Enjoy.

That's a beautifull one, i must put it on my music playlist.

Lords of Dogtown, Forrest Gump, and We Were Soldiers come to mind for movie soundtracks with their individual classic songs.
Synphonic wise, the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, and I have to say the DiVinci Code soundtrack.
