Yeah I haven't had much trouble with the tube but I've only been on it at rush hour once though there was a child that got separated from her mum by a train door.
The town I live in is around an hour away by train so I'm a nice distance away but can get there easily, around London we have what we call dormitory towns which people where a lot of commuters live sounds a bit more up your street, probably better prices for accommodation too.
