I only had time to shade in Brendan, lmaoo
Brendan is my favorite. I also love that my only distinguishable feature is my glasses, even though I have only had them for about 3 months of my life now XD I look so triggered

Kioko: A Memory
Her mother shouted, "Hajime!" and instantly the two girls sprung into action. The bamboo mat under her bare feet was smooth, she could feel where one strip ended and another began as she slid her feet over the surface. She circled her sister around the inside of the mat, not getting to close, but not straying to far, as the edges of the platform were out of bounds and resulted in losing the match. Ren struck first-- she always did. Kioko was almost never fast enough. Again and again her sister would hit her, kick her and knock her down. Kioko hated fighting, but she hated fighting her sister most of all. Ren would always hit harder than she needed to, as if it wasn't just training for her. And over and over again her head would crack against the bamboo and her vision would tunnel, seeing nothing but her sister's eyes burning into hers. There was a hunger in those eyes... a promise that she would always win and take down anything in her way. Those eyes haunted her, followed her, judged her.

Kioko wandered through the woods. It was night time and the world was quiet. Eerie fog settled over everything, making it hard to see, but she kept walking anyway. She had to get away, always had to get away.
"Kioko...."

A voice calling through the mist made her stop in her tracks. Kioko spun around but saw nothing. "Kioko..." the voice called again, "You can't run." It was closer now, and she could make out the shape of a small girl walking towards her, something shining in her right hand. "You won't survive on your own out there... you're too soft. Too weak." The girl's voice echoed and sounded like it was coming from all around, a quiet whisper as dry as fallen leaves. Kioko stumbled away, but there was nowhere to go, the trees enclosed around her, their roots coming up from the ground and wrapping around her ankles.

The girl stepped out of the fog, and now Kioko could see her more clearly. It was herself... or at least it looked like her. She had long, wavy red hair and the same green eyes... but something was different about those eyes. Those were Ren's eyes. In her hand she held a knife, glittering in the moonlight. It was Papa's old knife. Kioko never knew her father, but her mother kept that knife as a token if his memory. Sometimes when she thought no one was watching, she would take it out and leave shallow cuts in the palm of her hand. Kioko never understood why.

"Do you want to play a game with me...?" she asked. "You never play with me anymore." Kioko didn't respond, only stood frozen in place as Ren got closer, holding up the knife to her throat. Kioko could feel the cool metal again her skin, the sting as the edge just barely kissed her skin. "What are you so afraid of?" She whispered, then with a jerk of her hand, the world went red, and then faded to black.

"NOOOOOO!" Kioko screamed, bolting upright in her makeshift tent. The small fire she had made before was reduced to smoldering embers and the night was quiet and clear, the moon shining brightly in the sky. Breathing heavily, Kioko wiped the sweat from her forehead. "J-just a nightmare," she reassured herself. "I'm okay..."

She looked over where her satchel was tossed onto the ground in her tent. Picking it up, she open the pocket containing various viles and pouches of concoctions and crushed herbs. with her hand still quivering, she uncapped a vile of blackish liquid and took a sip. It tasted bitter with a hint of something dark and sweet. After a few seconds she felt a sort of tingling, numbing feeling come over her. It hurt a little, like pin pricks, but she didn't care. Her head began to feel heavy and the world spun, her vision blotting out in some spots. Lotus Extract was among her favorite poisons for the effects it provided. She knew it's risks and knew that ingesting poison wasn't a good idea... but she had to. Sometimes even the things she loved, her music, art and traveling the world were not enough to keep the dreams away.

Now that she was older, she understood why mama cut her palms.

Luruke: The Eleventh Cycle

The summer was a particularly mild one on the day of his cycle. Birds wheeled in a blue sky, the topography of the clouds above like a white mirror of the mountains below. Luruke lay on his back in a sea of green grasses, gently waving. He watched the slow dance of the vultures, and watched as some of his own people joined them, flying in tandem with their friends. The birds gave rasps of recognition and tilted to accommodate their human companions. Soon. It was his eleventh cycle, soon to be his twelfth. If he closed his eyes, he was lost in the grass, floating on a current-

Oof. His eyes snapped open with a start. There on his chest sat Ammi, smirking impishly. "Whatcha doing, Khobo? Did I scare you?"

Luruke smirked back. "How could I be scared by a mouse like yourself? After all..." A small gleam appeared in his eyes. "predators love to EAT HATCHLINGS LIKE YOU!"

He sat up with a roar and Ammi screamed, rolling backwards with a thump. Quickly she scrambled away, shrieking with laughter. Luruke bounded towards her, and they tore through the tall grass like banshees, frightening all the creatures that lived in it.

Ammi was ahead of him, just a speck on the landscape. Luruke's toes dug into the dry earth. Ammi grew nearer, her hair bouncing as she ran. His toes lengthened into claws, and he felt a prickling in his arms. Ammi was only a few strides away, and now Luruke bounded into the air, half-formed feathers assisting him in a short glide as he tackled his little sister, rolling over and over. They wrestled as they did, Ammi pushing her fists into his face, and he shoved her face into the dirt, laughing. She kicked him in the stomach, and they played like this until they were covered in dirt and exhausted. They lay together, shining with sweat in the waving sea. For a while, only their breaths could be heard, before Ammi spoke.

"I'm only four cycles behind you, I'm no hatchling!" Through her voice, of labored breath and childish protest, he heard himself in her.

"Yes you are," he teased, "but soon you won't be. Soon you'll reach the turning age, and you'll fly alongside me. Then we can play chase in the sky."

Ammi was quiet. Her small hands drew circles in the soil. "You won't be an adult by then, will you Khobo?"

Luruke was surprised. She never spoke like this. "Of course not, Ammi! I'll always want to play with you. You're my Ammi, and always will be."

"But Khobo... I..." Ammi hesitated, and then persisted. "I always see you looking, always to the mountains. I know that they are not what you see, but beyond."

He felt a sudden shock, and then guilt.

"You won't leave us here, will you? Are you bored of us?"

He replied with a heartfelt "Never!", but inside, Luruke wondered how she could have known his thoughts of the beyond. But then, Ammi always had those eyes. The eyes that saw him, the one inside. He felt his breath catch in his throat. How could he stop what he felt? That longing...

"Ammi... have you ever wondered what lies beyond?"

"Hm... I have. But then, we have the stories, don't we?"

"Not the stories. How long has it been since one of our tribe has seen it all in person? How many mysteries that have never been explored, that even the songs don't speak of?"

Ammi laughed. "Maybe there's a three headed man that eats wood and spits out bones."

"Or a land where the clouds rain ash, and trees of fire grow," Luruke added.

"Snakes with fur the width of sheep, that lay amethyst eggs!"

They carried on like this for some time, growing animated in their descriptions, acting out scenes in the grass. Ammi was the brave explorer, and Luruke was the river monster. Ammi was the door and Luruke opened it to reveal a chamber of lave, but across awaited the most succulent creature with the juiciest bones. Their mouths watered to think of it.

"Khobo... If you do go,"

"Yes?"

"I want to come too. But if I'm not ready... bring me back something nice, yeah?"

"Of course."

Beast Souls of Ikea
A Discord Collab

Luruke eagerly walks up to the box. So they did have one! He lays a hand on it. As he does so, two other hands land on it as well. He looks up. They lock eyes. His grip tightens.

Kioko glances up, her hand resting on the top of the cardboard surface. Her eyebrow twitches in subtle irritation. She had just spent hours looking for the perfect couch, walking through the entire damn store, swerving through it's maze-like design in confusion.
"Is there something the matter...?" She asked Luruke.

Bjorn glares down at the pair, each with a hand on his soon to be couch. He let's out a muffled 'grrr'

"Yes, there is," he interjects.

Luruke looks up at the man. "Excuse me sir, if you don't mind me", he laughs, "But do you reaally think that someone of your size could fit into this couch? Isn't it better suited for me?"

Kioko surpresses a giggle, looking in between the two. The man was rather large.... but this other man, what would he want with a couch like this? It was a designer IKEA couch! Neither of them were suited for it's sleek, curving armrests, it's plush and perfectly fluffed cushions... Just thinking about it made her itch to drag the box awat and purchase it.

Kioko bat her eyelashes with mock politeness at the pair. "Pardon me, Mr. Vulture, but the cushions of this couch are most likely stuffed with the fallen plumage of your kin. It's almost barbaric for you to take possesion of it either."

Bjorn glared back the unkemp fellow.

"I have traveled here from a far away land with only two goals! To get this specific couch," Bjorn said as he gripped the seat, "and too try the lengendary delicacy that is Ikea's meat balls. Nothing will stand in my way!"

Luruke looked at the two of them with a straight face. Then, he let go of the box and shoved the woman with both hands as hard as he could, and ran away with the box. "Too bad" he called behind him.

Bjorn's blood began to boil as the feathered theif got away with HIS couch. He let out a deafing roar and immediately steeped fully into his soul and took off on all fours behind the man.

"COME BACK YOU THEIF!!!"

Kioko stumbled back several steps before falling, quite squarely, on her behind. She sat, dumbfounded for a split second, before fully stepping into her soul and tearing off across the isle towards her assailant, now making off with her prized couch. She scaled the high metal shelves stacked percariously with boxes of other furniture. Jumping, isle over isle and gaining ground over the vulture, she finally leapt off, causing a stack of boxes to topple over behind her, cascading towards the polar bear. She landed on the head of the vulture man and began scracthing at him with her fuzzy paws. "UNHAND MY COUCH YOU FEIND!!!" She cried.

Luruke turned around. Behind him was imminent death. Above him was something even scarier. He dropped the box and reached up with both hands, grabbing onto the red panda, attempting to throw her off of himself.

It was a calm, surprisingly peaceful day at the Ikea shop. There, of course, was the occasional argument about a certain appliance, but it was sorted out quickly. He smiled as a few more customers came in, but that smile faded when he caught eye of something else. He saw a man running across an aisle, followed by a roaring polar bear. He man was soon attacked by a small red panda. He let out a sigh of irritation. He reached for the small transmitter on his belt. "We got another one. Mikal's on it". With that said, he joined the chase. Just another day in the office.

Bjorn smiled a toothy grin as the box fell from the vile man hands.

"Come to papa."

Bjorn reached his paws out to grab the box.

Luruke kicked the bear in the face while punching the small creature atop him. Some punches didn't land, and landed painfully on his own face.

Kioko felt hands grab onto her sides and attempt to pull her off. Fearful of being tossed away like a stuffed animal, she transformed back to her human form. She toppled over the man's head to the ground and quickly scrambled to the box. She unsheathled her chakram from her belt and threw it towards the bear, knowing her small stature wouldn't be enought to wrestle the box away from the beast.

Suddenly, the woman grew in size and weight and Luruke fell to the ground, suddenly imbalanced. The woman was distracted, fighting with the bear. Quickly he fully stepped and grabbed the box with his claws as he flew off.

It was no surprise when a brawl ensued once the box was dropped. Kicks, punches, even a chakram was thrown. It was days like this that made Mikal hate his job. Unsheathing a shotel, he slapped the chakram down, defending the bear. "Hey, no weapons in the store! Unless you're an employee!" he shouted at the woman. He hadn't even noticed the vulture at the moment.

Bjorn winced in pain as a foot came smashing into his face. He rubbed his nose with one paw almost missing the bladed projectile flying straight towards him.

He quickly dodged to the side, "Blast ! Woman are you trying to kill me over some bloody furniture ?!"

But before she could answer he saw the unkemp villian take off towards the ceiling carrying his couch.

"I'll eat you !" He called after the bird as he continued his pursuit.

"SORRY, NOT SORRY" She replied to the bear, then noticed the bird making off with the box again. "Shit!!" She shifted back into her animal form, with all her might she turned to climb the shelves once more, ignoring the angry story employee and leaving her chakram.

She jumped off the shelves again, aiming her landing on the box midair. She clung with her paws to the corners of the box and transformed to her anthro form, hoping to drag the bird down to the ground again. "YOU WON"T MAKE IT OUT OF HERE WITH THIS COUCH, FEATHERS!!"

Luruke looked down and screamed in a cool way. Or at least, he hoped, because there below him was the small murderous animal again. He flapped harder, but the combined weight of the couch and woman was too much. He let go of both, and circled back down to assess the damage.

Bjorn picked up the speed. He was now positioned directly below the box, the bird, the half-stepped girl.

He watched as the box and the girl feel down towards him.

"Now you're mine! My couch and a free snack! " He called out.

Mikal returned his blade to it's sheath as he was ignored. "Should have went to Home Depot Mikal" he mumbled as he pursued the trio of trouble makers. The red panda went after the vulture directly, the bear stayed on the floor of course. As the red panda caused the vulture to drop the box and let the bear close in, Mikal felt the need to act at the bears comment. His unsheathed his blade once more and slammed it into the floor. "ENOUGH,!"

Kioko plummeted back to the earth, box in tow, with a scream. She lined up her foot with the bear's nose and backflipped off of his face onto the surface of the fallen box, now tattered and torn. She stood atop it, glancing around for any other immediate threats.

To Luruke's dismay, the box was shredded by that stupidly huge bear in the fall. He landed beside the beautiful vintage furniture and wondered what his life had become.

Almost at once all of Bjorn anger subsided as he look down in tears at what he had done to the box.

It was only then that Luruke noticed the store employee. He looked from the shredded box and couch, to the worker, and back to the box. Then he realized that the entire area was trashed as well. There was only one viable course of action.

Kioko looked down, crouching down over the box, tears in her eyes. "Oh no.... my couch..." She touched the dented and scraped cardboard tentetively as if her sorrow alone would fix it again

"I DIDN'T DO IT"

Kioko's head snapped up, glaring at the vulture. "DIDN'T DO IT!? YOU'RE THE ONE THAT DROPPED IT YOU DIRTY BIRD!!"

Luruke flew screaming from the scene and out the rotating doors.

Mikal watched in anger as the vulture flew off. "Where's my bow when I need it" he grumbled. He looked back to the red panda and the bear, clearly distraught about the boxes destruction. "So, who's paying for this mess, hm!?" he asked the two.

Kioko then looked at the store employee, smiled sheepishly "He'll pay for it." she said, pointing at the bear and dashed off. One could only see her bushy red tail before she vanished from sight all together.

Bjorn realized if he didn't act soon he would be blamed for the mess they had all caused.

His veteran intuition kicked in and he army rolled towards the nearest window.

He look back at the guard

"Thanks for the tour!" He called as he jumped through the glass and onto the street.

Mikal watched in dismay as the three ran off, leaving the mess behind. His grip tightened around the handle in anger, but soon loosened as he realized there was nothing he could do at that point. He placed his sword back in it's sheath and looked at the box. "This better not come out of my paycheck"

"Clean up on isle 13"

Out on the street, through the broken glass, Luruke called out, "It will"

For the character building exercise:
Shikoba's three songs are as follows -

This outlines Shikoba's past with methotase, and his regret and remorse for her disappearance, and also his lost innocence over the event.

This song is a portrait of Shikoba's attitude towards the bugs, and where his attitude is going. He is shifting into a mode of do or die, inspired by the degree of death.

This is to show Shikoba's desire to be the best of the best: And his drive to make him such an elite warrior amongst his tribe.

Kioko's Beats
The first song is "Nightcore" but you can easily find the original song on YouTube if you don't like this version x3 (Also note that I didn't post the full lyrics, just the key lines that I liked)

Elastic Heart by Sia

This song is dedicated to Kioko's childhood. She always fought to be herself and keep her values even when her family judged her for them. She was forced to fight and be someone she wasn't. When she snapped and finally stood up for herself her family could no longer beat her down. Some of the key lyrics in this song that really stand out to me for Kioko's Character:
You did not break me
I'm still fighting for peace

Well I've got a thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band, until you pull too hard
But I may snap and I move fast

Let's be clear, won't close my eyes
And I know that I can't survive
I walked too far to save my life
And I want it, I want my life so bad
I'm doing everything I can
Then another one bites the dust
It's hard to lose a chosen one

Symphony by Clean Bandit feat. Zara Larsson

This song is dedicated to the music, art and beauty in life that Kioko treasures so much. When she left to travel the lands of Taman she found herself and got to be free for the first time. So Symphony for Kioko is about how she found the world and fell in love with it (Rather than the lyrics referring to a specific person, however it could also refer to a future lover I suppose.) Some of the key lyrics in this song that really stand out to me for Kioko's Character:
Before all I heard was silence

Life was stringing me along
Then you came and you cut me loose
Was solo singing on my own
Now I can't find the key without you

And now your song is on repeat
And I'm dancin' on to your heartbeat
And when you're gone, I feel incomplete

I just wanna be part of your symphony
Will you hold me tight and not let go?

Bamboo Flute Music
This, of course, is simply a sample of Kioko's style of flute music. There are other instruments in this video and it's like three hours long.. obviously you don't have to listen to the whole thing (I sure didn't, lol) I just skipped forward a few minutes to where the flute started to play...
