Fandom Batrimaeus Sequence: Interest Check

Syfyre

Lost in my mind
I've recently been rereading a favorite trilogy of mine when I was younger called the Bartimaeus Sequence (or Trilogy, depending on publishing I guess). I feel the world could come alive in an RP, but I was hoping for some feedback from anyone who has read the story.

For anyone who hasn't read it and is wondering what the hell I'm on about, check out the wiki, specifically the setting, to get a feel for the world. I'm too lazy to type it all up. Sorry!

I would have a set time period and region (possibly just a city as the main setting, London perhaps?) and am currently working on a storyline to follow.

If anyone is interested or has any suggestions I'd love to hear from you!

Someone else who has read those? Someone else, finally?! Oh yes. I'm interested. Most certainly. As for suggestions...I'll get back to you on that.

Great! I wasn't sure if anyone would know what I was talking about haha

I'm still working out how the RP can flow well while still having the general feel from the books, especially with magicians sending demons out and about. If you do think of any ideas, send them my way!

THERE ARE OTHERS

WHO KNEW?

Gosh gosh those books were so good.

I had in the past contemplated how exactly to go about making a role play, but I kind of drew a blank every time haha.

But... it shouldn't be TOO hard with the world.

Magical artifacts and what not.

If my mind just so happens to vomit out any ideas, I'll certainly let you know.

GASPS

i had no idea people KNEW

wow it could be liek

how all the spirits got caught and put into the amulet of samarkand

where everyone role plays any spirit

i think the amulet does not discriminate

if i remember correctly they say the amulet is made up of many many spirits not just powerful ones

That could be an option. I was leaning more towards Gladstone's time or right before it when Britain was just gaining power over Prague. Still not sure though. Glad we found someone else who likes the series though!

Yeahh, personally I was hoping to play the role of a really shitty magician person, myself. * w *

gosh it's been so long i don't even remember half the lore of these books are they even called magicians??

I actually just reread the series. Still stands up, and yes pine, they are!

We have at least 3 people interested, so I'll work on more of a write up to summarize the setting and other info. We can debate on the story line and time period if you want. I'm flexible on that.

I'll post a preview here for you guys too when I can. This week has me swamped though, so patience is appreciated!

Hey everyone. I realize that I haven't posted in a while. Life took a turn for the crazy and I'm doing my best to get things sorted out. I will still be making this RP at some point. With luck it will be soon, but my RL issues have to come first. I hope that you all will still be interested at that point. I will notify you when things clear up and I'm posting the thread.

That being said, background, lore (aside from what's given in the series), and suggestions are always appreciated. Anything like that could help speed up the process of getting the actual RP set up and rolling. If you do think of anything, post it here or send it to me in a PM.

Though I will probably be doing some very casual roles, I do not have the energy nor time to devote to getting this off the ground at present. I know that isn't fair to you. I apologize. Hopefully I can get my life back on track and we can venture into the world of Bartimaeus at some point in the near future!

Warm regards and Merry Christmas to all,

Syfyre
