Penelope

Groaning loudly Penny looked around at the four other faces that were joining her in the hell hole library. She was pissed. Really pissed. Because of one smart remark towards a teacher she was being forced to miss out on one of the biggest social gatherings of her senior year. Next to prom this was the one thing she didn't want to miss. The last senior gathering. The senior picnic.

Huffing back in her chair she promptly crossed her arms as she got a good look at the other students. She only recognized two of them, Milo and Gavin. She only recognized Gavin because they came from the same social standing and Milo because he was the smart ass in all her classes since the beginning of high school. The other two kids in here looked familiar but they were much too below her for her to affiliate with them. She wasn't positive but she had a strong feeling that at one point she had cheated off the brunette, Olive or something like that.

Gavin

He was tired and irratible. Knowing he was missing the Senior picnic too, which bites. Being a smart ass and chucking an earaser got him in to this mess. Drumming his fingers on his desk knowing the book about Chemistry was taunting to just pick up and read. No. He had a Jock image to keep up. So that means no nerd stuff, no smart things. Only being an ass, screwing chicks and smarting off.

"So what brings you here, doll face" he jeered leaning next to her. It was 6:57 still had time flirt and talk. Yeah this can't be so bad. Gavin dug out a doughnut and started eating. "Got caught using make-up in class?"

Janet:

*~~~~~~~~*

Janet was sitting as far away from the rest of the people as possible. She was leaning back on her chair with her feet propped up on top of the desk and the most recent volume of Naruto in front of her. She wasn't mad or sad about being here instead of being at the senior picnic. She hadn't even planned on attending it in the first place. She looked around at the others. She knew who everyone was. That was typical. Janet new everyone, but no one knew Janet. Penelope the popular girl. Milo the bad boy. Olivia the walking encyclopedia, and Gavin the player.

What brought Janet here you ask. Nothing really. She comes here on her free time to get work done or just read a book. It was better than sitting at home hearing her mother complain about her nails or how her life sucked because she had the worst daughter in history. Yeah much better than that. Janet let her gaze fall back on her comic. She wondered what the others had done to come here. She had never seen their faces here before, well except for Milo's. The thought drifted off her head as she continued reading the manga as she had planned to do when she walked through the door.

Olivia sat quietly to the left side of the room with her body hunched over and he elbows on the desk she was seated at. There was a book set out in front of her though it wasn't a chemistry book, it was Harper Lee's 'How To Kill A Mockingbird'. She wasn't really reading but was thinking about how her parents would react once the school calls them. Her father would probably be upset with her though at the same time nurturing but too busy with work to anything about it while her mother would ignore the issue at hand and act like she hadn't played a part in her daughter's recent choices. If only she hadn't been caught by the principal, she would be home by now watching TV or doing her homework.

Clearing her mind, she looked up from her book and drifted her gaze around the library. All the faces were familiar to her but she never even spoken to any of the people in the room before. Out of all the people in the room, Olivia was the one who stuck most out. Either that or people would assume she had nothing better to do than study at a library while everyone else went to the picnic. Well it was true she had nothing better to do but she would rather be home than here with; Princess, Meat-For-Brains, Hood-Rat, and Oddball. Not her words to describe them exactly but she heard a bunch of people call them that. Olivia nuzzled her head back into her book after she realized she was gazing longer than she should have been.

Milo

Ah, yes. Milo Wolfe, the infamous criminal of the school. Never one to disappoint an audience, he made sure to arrive five minutes late, just like everybody expected him to. He slipped into the library with an unlit cigarette dangling from his lips, making sure to openly smirk at whoever was watching before slumping into a nearby open seat. He reached into one of the front pockets of his beat-up gray military jacket and pulled out a lighter. He wasn't actually going to smoke in here, because To Kill A Mockingbird over on the left side of the room might hyperventilate and die. Or worse, go on a tirade about how he was a cancer patient waiting to happen. As if he didn't know that already. The lecture was always the same, and it had gotten to the point where he just told people not to waste their time. He surely wouldn't be listening.

He flipped the lighter open and closed a million times a minute, just to see if he could get a rise out of somebody. If anybody, it would be Gavin, the hopelessly generic jock. Milo had heard he had a bit of a temper. It must be a hard life being a father's dream kid, the star of the sports team, and able to rock baseball pants as an everyday thing while only looking a little stupid. Then there was Penelope, the only other person he knew by name in this clusterf*cker of his peers. She basically ran the school. Enough said. Milo had slept with a million and one of her friends, but not once touched her. He chalked it up to her being a prude. She couldn't handle him anyway. Then, there was the aforementioned To Kill A Mockingbird, a girl he recognized from that table of nerds who always sat the closest to the cafeteria line during lunch. And finally, there was a chick who looked like she had a few screws loose--not that Milo couldn't really judge. He wasn't exactly sanity personified.

Penelope

Penny scoffed at Gavin's comment. Sure they were from the same social standing but that didn't mean that she had to like him. For the most part he was a grade A jerk. "Let's get one thing straight, don't call me doll face. And for your information I'm here for having a sharp tongue." She paused for a moment as Milo made his entrance. He was late, as usual, but that was no surprise. In fact she wouldn't be surprised if he was in here because of his constant lateness. Then again, with his reputation he could be in here for anything.

Returning her attention back to Gavin she cocked her head to the side as she conjured up a witty comeback, "What are you here for? Peeping in the girls locker room?"

Gavin

Rolling his eyes, he smirked. "Your right actually..." When that Milo chump came in Gav turned his head and looked at him. Pen was cute but he's porked other girls. That Olivia of that girl, what a gal. She could say the whole periodic table no problem. She was in his AP chem class. If anyone found he picked that class himself, oh he'd be f&ucked.

He sighed giving Olivia a charming smile. Still, he told all the high standing people he was
'Accidentally put in that class' Maybe if he was lucky he'd get a chance to read it. "Nah actually I chucked an eraser at some chump" he spoke looking back at her.

Janet

*~~~~~~*

Peering back up from her manga, Janet watched as the two social dominants blabbered away. Disgusted by their superficial conversation, Janet began to make gagging noises and hid behind her manga before she was caught. She snickered at her "clever" act of disguise and continued to read.

It was scary how much the preppy duo reminded Janet of her mother. Those were the type of people that the world needed to get rid of, in her opinion. More kids like her with unique minds should be dominant in
stead of having selfish narcissistic in charge . Maybe like that the world wouldn't be such a putrid place.

Janet got lost in the thought of being the ruler of the world. She would change everything. People would be forced to meditate at least an hour a day in order to increase their mental capacities. Whereas school now teach math and science, in her world, schools would teach astrophysics and mental development courses. She would create an army of super unicorns that would poop rainbows that would distract evil doers long enough to capture them.

The thought brought a grotesque smile to Janet's face.

The amount of cliche happening within a close proximity of his seat actually made Milo nauseous. He wasn't sure what he expected, but the furture prom king and prom queen were the last people he would've thought to be in detention. Milo himself? Well, he was a regular, of course. He wasn't sure why- the teachers hadn't just given up already. He wasn't going to change. He could get higher test scores than even Mockingbird over there, if he really wanted to. School was just a waste of time, a place the government forced him to go during the day. He couldn't wait until he didn't graduate. Then he could spend all day at the pub, or smoking a joint in the park. Now that sounded like a good time to him.

He removed the cigarette from his lips and yawned loudly and obnoxiously. This day couldn't go by any slower, now could it?
