"You and i both know how this ends Avatar~"
Some talks with some friends of mine furthered by the support of some members within another RP i have running on here have motivated me to throw this thread up so i suppose we will see just where this whole thing goes. As the title states about, this RP will be based on the time period displayed in Avatar The Last Airbender but in an AU where none of the canon characters or 'events' happened. This means this will be a relatively new story told by new original characters in the same similar structure as the original show just with a bunch of different twist and special plot points to keep things new and interesting. That being said, most of the canons that do exist will be there purely as a device to keep some details about the world in tact. Examples of this are Avatar Roku and his falling out with This is to allow more creative freedom in the type of characters that can be made. With characters like Toph out of the picture, it paves the way for someone else to perhaps discover Metal bending.
With that out of the way i suppose it is time to discuss the plot. Many of the story beats will remain the same. Such as the falling out between Avatar Roku and Firelord Sozin, the Airbender Genocide and the Fire Nation starting war with all the other nations. All of these iconic moments which set up the events of the initial series will remain in tact but with the main difference being that the Airbender Genocide wen't a bit differently. As in not only did the Fire Nation completely slaughter them, they also managed to murder The Avatar as well, forcing them to be born into the next element in the cycle. The Fire Nation then traveled to the Water Tribes and laid siege to both the Northern and Southern Water Tribes, murdering those who stood against them and taking those who submitted into concentration camps for 'rehabilitation'. Effectively completely destroying both the tribes and forcing those who managed to avoid the slaughter to flee to a secret safe haven which will be revealed later.
In this story, the new Avatar will be born an Earth Bender and raised within the fortified walls of Ba Sing Se which in this AU has still yet to be breached by the Fire Nation despite their advancements in technology and constant efforts to do so. The Avatar will be around 16-17 years old and the journey with them will begin with him or her starting their journey to learn the four elements by traveling the world and finding lost Masters of each element who are hidden throughout the world and, you guessed it. Defeat the fire nation and 'save the world'.
Or at least try.
The main conflict from this story will come from the obvious fact that the Fire Nation has practically conquered the world at this point and thus their occupation of every town, city, and village will make for enough conflict on its own along with the several story and plot twist i will be employing during the course of the RP as its DM. However, the special secondary plot line will come from a special elite team comprised by Sozins great granddaughter who has been tasked with hunting and capturing or killing The Avatar. They will be this stories equivalent to Team Azula and be the main antagonist of the story.
With all this out of the way now we talk characters. Obviously Team Avatar will be comprised of four to five people who are found sporadically as The Avatar discovers them. To keep things simple i will post the simple archetypes of the characters below and people can simply choose who they wan't to claim and make their own.

I'd like to see some creativity when these characters are made. Good strengths, better weaknesses, maybe even some disabilities. I wan't these characters do be 'compelling'. So with that in mind i will not be accepting overly edgy characters, cardboard box 'i'm the loner' types or anything in that regard. That being said i'd like to personally speak with those interested in claiming the 'Team Avatar' positions to discuss the long term of the plot since the Waterbender will not be found until later as a massive part of the plot.
