[Athamar: Quests from Lorana] Chapter 2: Delwyn's Gift

Oops!! The Drunken Bard thing was totally my bad xD . I got the name all fuckered up. Sorry, bcam!
Haha, it's all good! Fixed it. By the way, you guys can call me Ben or Benjamin. It sounds better than bcamOVER9000. :P

Plus, this may be a n00b question but, what exactly is the "Ask Me Anything"? threads.

I think it's supposed to be like, asking characters questions, and then you respond in character? Could be fun to play around with xD

Exactly that! You make a thread for your character and you answer the questions in their perspective. It's pretty fun, so I don't see why we can't do this! So if it's something that interest you, you can make a thread in the S/PRP section. :D

So I think we're waiting for our dear Verlous to make his appearance. I shall proceed to bother Cthulhu tonight.

Alright, so for the Ask Me Anything threads, everyone is allowed to have one thread for all characters. This is to avoid clutter, so we don't have a shit ton of threads floating around in the S/PRP section xD . The rules will be amended to reflect this change.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say I am totally stoked to have found such a great site and troupe with which to engage the imagination and hone the wordsmything. Glad to have the opportunity, and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

I have limited play by post experience, so don't be afraid to steer me if I am off course. I appreciate the all the help you have given getting me started already.

That being said, Game ON!

I will see you all one day in the Temple of the Winds, where we all must one day go to meet our Gods...

Remember : It's not an easy thing to meet your maker!

Loving your spirit, Knight! xD

Not to worry, we're here to help you whenever you need it! Wonderful to have you with us.
I haven't given it much thought since I don't think it's that important, but since the question is raised...
I'd imagine there are parchment papers that mention their titles and their house (such as the nobility). But for the others, such as peasants and middle class, they obviously cannot say they "work for the king" and get away with it. In these times, you can easily judge a person of low class just by what they wear, look, and they're occupation. So it's not easy to lie and get away with it.

The people can roam freely wherever they choose and make a living there (such as Lamordia and Lorana). It's not like a bunch of illegal immigrants are crossing the boarder. LOL. To lie about who you are and you're occupation to the king can result in a trial and possibly death.

For other places such as Anorgath, I'd imagine it'll be a little more difficult (for non magic users) to reside there since the population are mostly mages. You will have to explain to the Queens, what is your reasoning to live there and what is your background. As for Gallagona…I'm not even going to touch that. Who the hell wants to live in a desert? ;)

So, for identifications, the citizen MUST be truthful to their titles and house. If they lie and the Royal Family knows, it will end in execution. There are parchment papers, but no one carries them around. And there are FAKE parchment papers, which can also result in death.

I hope that sums things up for anyone.

Also, bcam: the tavern is called the Stumbling Bard, not the Drunken Bard. Sorry for the confusion!
Heyyyyyyy..... I think I just got insulted! All that judging people by the way they dress, and where they live... I think I feel Oppressed!

Also, I am curious as to why the Bard is Stumbling, if he isn't Drunk? He just have a bad case of Vertigo? - lol ;)

From my experience bards tend to be perpetually drunk if not perpetually vertigo'd xD

And my post is up. At least there is one good thing about this massive break until my evening class.

Since some characters are at different locations (like the tavern and the estate), it would be great if everyone can list where their characters are located in their future post. Just so we can prevent confusion. :)

So like the way I did it, a bolded location (approx. time is optional) and then your post would be totally helpful.

Where is everybody? You guys must be hella busy...

I thought you guys were chomping at the bit, and nobody's posting? Giddy up!

I'm sorry that the RP isn't going the pace you desired but some RPers like to go at a more leisurely pace, or try to take some time to think up a response.

Everyone's got their own posting speed and sometimes being impatient is not exactly encouraging. If the RP has gone a ridiculously long amount of time without posts, then yes, a polite nudge is well and fine. But it really hasn't been that long since the last few posts.

Hey I'm not trying to offend anyone, sheesh. It sounded like people were fired up, and I certainly am, because I see that we have a great group. I am also just used to a more demanding environment, as what experience I have had usually predicated a post every day or two at the least. If its different here that's cool, but I'm new to RPDOM, so I haven't seen anything else yet.

I get scared when I don't see posting because that has always been the first sign of a game in the throws of dying, and I hate seeing that happen. Every game I have tried in play by post has gone dead with no explanations, etc... I am hoping that won't happen here.

No hard feelings, I wasn't trying to upset anyone. I do have a special tool that I commissioned from one very industrious and innovative Gnome, if anyone needs it... { offers the super-cala-frajalistic, amazing, mithril, panty unbuncher } :)

Don't worry, Knight, this RP has lasted over a year! We tend to post at a slower pace considering how the majority of us are in college/grad school and the posts are quite lengthy. Just cause it's going slow doesn't mean it's dying!

It's all good. I am just thrilled to find a great troupe of players who have the skill and imagination to weave the best of stories.

I have missed this sooo much, and so I am totally amped. Don't mind me...

However, we may want to add a warning label on the landing page.

"Warning: This RPG is highly addictive and may contain

"

Barkeep, another if you please! Better switch me off to that Decaff tho...

"If we shadows have offended,

Think but this and all is mended..."

I'll be getting my part up with Bastian up later after I fully recover the original post and make proper changes to fit the new cast and new posts.
