After characters are updated, posted, and approved, we can successfully move on to Chapter 2.


Chapter 2 will officially start over, therefore, I will copy and paste my previous post (the one that started the chapter). From there, you will have the option of writing a brand new post or copy the one you had written before.
 
There are. If you read The Bard's Final Song by Cthulhu, he delves on certain nations that attempted invasion. The story is not completed yet and he also gets into Sir Hesper and Ialia's parents.
 
I feel it took them two days (or possibly three) to reach Silvershadow Woods. But they were definitely in the woods for over a week.
 
Ah, okay. When I reread Chapter One for a summary, the only indication that I found of the passage of time was the journey from Lorana to the edge of Silvershadow Woods (one and a half days).


I probably missed time cues, but the events felt compressed.
 
Ah it's okay! I probably wasn't thinking that much of it back then because I'm a horrible GM. XDD
 
The IC for Chapter 2 will be up tonight. I just have to make a few edits and then we can begin! Remember, previous players, you all have the choice to either write a new post OR copy and paste your old one.

With all the foreign nationals walking around Lorana, they had to have gone through a checkpoint. Especially in the capital. Or not? Even a writ from the town elder should count as an ID back then: "Thif here be--af I swear on my beard--Jonaf, son of Levi, a cobbler. Born on 7 August 1105. -Obadiah, son of Gerome, elder of Limberry towne."


Or so on.


EDIT: I also acknowledge that with the mercenary nature of questing, "don't ask, don't tell" is a prudent policy--but this may not be universal. Background checks and references from far-flung locales would be difficult to confirm without the aid of magic or very fast-running horses.
 
Sneaky - I'm sure some of the higher ups had documentation, but people such as Isora or wandering vagabonds usually didn't. It doesn't REALLY matter honestly at least right now!
 
It does bring up an interesting point however. We could easily flaunt a "working for the king" card and get some privileges others wouldn't.

I haven't given it much thought since I don't think it's that important, but since the question is raised...


I'd imagine there are parchment papers that mention their titles and their house (such as the nobility). But for the others, such as peasants and middle class, they obviously cannot say they "work for the king" and get away with it. In these times, you can easily judge a person of low class just by what they wear, look, and they're occupation. So it's not easy to lie and get away with it.


The people can roam freely wherever they choose and make a living there (such as Lamordia and Lorana). It's not like a bunch of illegal immigrants are crossing the boarder. LOL. To lie about who you are and you're occupation to the king can result in a trial and possibly death.


For other places such as Anorgath, I'd imagine it'll be a little more difficult (for non magic users) to reside there since the population are mostly mages. You will have to explain to the Queens, what is your reasoning to live there and what is your background. As for Gallagona…I'm not even going to touch that. Who the hell wants to live in a desert? ;)


So, for identifications, the citizen MUST be truthful to their titles and house. If they lie and the Royal Family knows, it will end in execution. There are parchment papers, but no one carries them around. And there are FAKE parchment papers, which can also result in death.


I hope that sums things up for anyone.


Also, bcam: the tavern is called the Stumbling Bard, not the Drunken Bard. Sorry for the confusion!
