At the Adventurers' Table: Chapter Twelve

... Nivirea's far more mundane looks.
:/: D':

So let's just get this out of the way first. Who is more attractive: Luna with Fey origins or Nivirea as an ordinary human? Because I had imagined Nivirea being hotter by default, with the Fey features simply going overboard ^D^

... does this mean my signature ability is frozen? :deadopenmouth:

In more important other news, I had chosen a sorcerer specifically so I wouldn't have to manage a wizard class :lennymeh:. So much for that plan *woof*

Btw, do we have any of our gear with us?

Sorry if my post made you feel that I was implying Nivi was less attractive. By 'far more mundane', I was implying the effect of losing that Fae heritage.

That highly depends on the eye of the beholder. Nivirea is plain compared to her former self (and simply "attractive" by the average person's definition) - the big reason being, she now has Luna's Charisma ability score, not Nivirea's. Remember that huge leap in mind and logic? Guess what Nivirea's Intelligence score is now? Luna, on the other hand, is every bit as dazzling as a woman can be with her new Charisma score added with the innate loveliness and sensuality that Nymphs are known for.

Re: Wizard not Sorcerer. Somehow, I think Loviatar knew that. =)

Re: gear. This line may help you.

Each of the Wayward Wanderers realized then that they were not clad at all in gear they had ever worn! They had weapons and items, some familiar, some not, but none of them were owned by those who wore them!
(bold mine)

As for your Signature Ability, some things you'll just have to find out in-game. See, I just work here. =)

Oh... and folks? Just in case there is any doubt, yes, there is a way out of this (those of you who have been paying close attention over the years know at least how many ways there are out of my challenges).

Just to confirm something to make sure it was not a typo: is Oreleth now really a half elf?
(bold mine)

This part made me chuckle, Psychie! I definitely goof sometimes, but this is not one of those times. =)

I have about one scene of any kind in me (given the past 48 hours I've had). I'm going to type up a scene here before I go to bed. =)

Look, Wolf. I have never been the kind of Dungeon/Game Master where nothing bad ever really happens to the PCs. Maybe you've seen the type? You know those GMs out there where the PCs, no matter how poor their decisions, how badly they roll, etc. the Game Master always lets it go on and on? The freaking PC jumps off a cliff, but they didn't die because.... <insert reason here>. Sooner or later, the PCs figure out that their characters are basically immortal. They cannot lose.

And I think that approach is utter rubbish.

I'm not saying you're thinking that way, but it deserves to be brought up at a time like this.

You can ask Sherwood and Kaerri about our games together. Listen to what they tell you. Sometimes, I could tell many of the PCs in my games had no earthly idea how to get out of what I had put in front of them, but...

... they usually had a great time figuring it out! It made them better roleplayers, stronger team players, and their characters had the experiences to look back upon.

Plus, this is not Pathfinder 1.0. I'm willing to bet you don't know yet what your character is capable of now. Isn't discovery part of the fun of roleplaying? Or have I (at least from what little you can tell on the surface) seemingly made things too difficult?

Remember - Loviatar and her goons want your characters to give up! And that's an option! It always has been!

Folks, if your characters "decide" to sink into despair and not fight back, then my game goes in that direction. Sharseya is my sandbox game. My worlds; your decisions! You decide where it goes! But it's largely up to your characters to find the way to turn the tables. Make things better. Restore what was lost and improve upon it. Regardless of what gets thrown at the Wayward Wanderers. You never know what you'll learn by simply not giving up.

Oh, and Sherwood Sherwood ? That last post of yours as Luna was just kick-ass, spot-on, damned goodness! =)

What, can't a wolf let out a sigh without coming off as suicidal? I wasn't complaining. Okay, maybe a little. I don't know.

I'm not unreasonable. Of course there's no earthly idea on how to get out. We've only been here for about as long as it took to walk a thousand paces. I wouldn't expect to know what to do already. I was just terribly confused from the start, and remain somewhat confused still. It's also harder to post when besides the usual "hmm... is this really what my character would say/do", which is difficult enough for someone with my perfectionist tendencies, I now have to add an additional layer of "is this really what my character would say/do now". It's like I'm playing the same and not the same character at the same time. Lol.

Maybe I'm playing up the change that our characters have gone through. It's just that from the way it was described by the Storyteller, I suddenly find myself doubting every move and thought before I even make it, as if looking for inconsistencies. "Sure, before she'd do this or that, but now? Perhaps I'm overdoing it.

Either way I'll get through it somehow. I mean, we all will. It's all good. Even if I have to tone down my posts a bit. I'd rather be quiet than wrong *woof*

Well, it's not just what you posted here but also in Amaranth that makes me feel the way I do.

All I'm saying is - I know you're reasonable. You just seem to be in a rut right now. You're at the table; try the food before you think to push it aside? It's made by a buddy of yours who means you and everyone here well (and has for years). =)

I think you are overthinking it a bit. With my hyperkinetic syndrome, I overthink (overfeel, really) on a daily basis. I have to "reel myself in" all of the time (but, hey, that's how I'm made so I may as well try and make the best of it!).

Also, I think a large part of the situation falls on the creator - me. Sometimes, in person, I come across with more passion and energy than I realize. It's a side-effect of my hyperactivity and natural energy. Kaerri has to point it out to me sometimes; other times, I catch it. I certainly may have done this while writing out the scene - wrote it too well if I can say that without sounding whatever-the-opposite-of-humble-is? Pardon if I put the scene on too strong! I was going for immersion and mystery!

I'd rather a PC of mine be wrong than quiet. Remember - I can't do anything with silence any more than you can when folks don't post in Amaranth. "Wrong" I can help with. In fact, I enjoy the communication. =)

Oh, do you mean I need to kick this whole situation up a notch?

JUST KIDDING! *hides from anyone throwing pillows and Nerf balls at him* =)

Ha ha ha ha! Oh, Wolf! You have a great sense of humor!

Bria had Bren's gear, and obviously his power to call for Mielikki's aid. That... hurt. If he hadn't known it was Mielikki's greatest enemy who had done this to him, it would have cut deeper than any wound. As it was, it only drove him deeper into opposition against the Mistress of Pain. As for himself, deep within he sensed something good, something strong and loving and hopeful, the likes of which he'd never felt before, and wondered if this was what he'd gained from Bria, the healer's sense and source of power.

I just love these lines... Man, if that's not good roleplaying, nothing is. Go Kaerri!

In a side note, I heard from a friend that Marvel Comics giant Stan Lee passed away this morning. She said it had to do with him having pneumonia.

Yep! The major media outlets are showing it. 95 years of the biggest comic book fan there ever was! Excelsior, Mr. Lee! *salute* =)

Farewell, Stan, thanks for all the fun, joy and happy memories. You will be missed.
