Fantasy Assassins, soldiers and eldritch abominations from the river n'yelk'trus sha

Thank you.

I was thinking my character could be young assassin aged around 19-20 who was orphaned at a young age and had to learn to fend for herself.

She seems harmless and keeps to herself. She has a pet named Seedeater who is just a small dog who likes eating seeds, although he is little and adorable he is territorial and has a nasty bite. She found him near a lake one day. She has 4 possessions which she keeps in a backpack that is dirty and a bit ripped up. She keeps her mum's wedding ring, a photo of her parents and her, a bracelet she made her dad that he wore daily and a small flask type thing to keep water in. She also keeps hand carved weapons and tools that she tries to sell in exchange for better materials and food.

She is a very fast and agile and is fluent in English, Japanese, Russian and Chinese of course.

She has long brunette hair that she usually has up in a ponytail her eyes are light blue and she just wears a simple grey shirt and black pants with a jacket that she stole.

Her story is still coming through My brain, so the only certain thing I have is her appearance. (Note; this sketch is still a WIP)

Did some Sketching, tried to think of monsters that would be common in a fresh-water/swampy environment. Sketch is below, I'll explain the monsters up here.

#1 is Queen Zebra Mussel. She's about the size of the average table and she floats above the ground. Since she has a hard shell and no eyes, she is telepathic, able to see and speak with her mind power. She also has plenty of tentacles/feelers to grab and eat things. Because Zebra Mussels are an invasive species, anything that she touches with her tentacles slowly becomes infested with hordes of smaller Zebra Mussels. This includes living beings as well. Zebra mussels have sharp shells and can cut people easily. The spreading can be stopped by cleaning off the spot(s) that she touched with certain chemicals and magic.

#2 is just a two headed goose. It's pretty big though. Man-sized big. It also has some tentacles coming out of it's neck where it mutated, but I'm sure that its nothing to worry about. Probably someones pet that ran away. It can talk, but it gets annoying after a while due to the two heads always arguing.

#3 Is probably over-doing it, but I thought it would be cool. It's a land piranha. Basically a larger and more nimble hunting dog with razor sharp teeth. It's about four feet tall and it can't talk, but it can be tamed and used to hunt other, larger animals. It can go to a land speed of up to 40 MPH. Because of this, some train it to take down horse riders and carriages. One is great, a pack is even better.

These are actually really cool ideas but you don't have to limit it to ones that would originate from a swamp, my character is there on business, it doesn't have to be the home. But yeah those are really cool.

The land piranha reminds me of a squig from warhammer

Many thanks! Many thanks! (^U^)

You're right, I do see the connection between the Squig and the Land-Piranha. Gotta say that Squig looks real intimidating.

And holy crap, Leech Vampires. I was considering leeches for a bit and then stayed away from them because I couldn't figure out how to work them into something. Just imagine one.

Actually, wait. I'll do that for you. Gimme a minute ( ;) )

Maybe some kind of vampire that lives underwater, then when someone is passing jumps over them and opens up (by that i mean that his body literally rips in half) revealing countless blood-sucking appendages

My idea for em was an eyeless humanoid with translucent, perpetually damp skin (meaning perpetually damp/greasy hair), anaesthetic saliva and fangs, and the ability to turn into a GIANT LEECH. They're probably also suspiciously flexible. To disguise their lack of eyes, they wear deeply tinted round glasses or forcibly implant false glass eyes into their heads (a very painful procedure that is sometimes necessary to get along in the world). They get around without eyes due to their incredibly acute other senses. These would be referred to as 'pseudo-vampires' because they are not undead humans. The smell/taste of blood triggers a rapid metamorphosis into their 'feral form', and they can feed off of any blood. Old, rotten, fresh, human, eldritch...you name it. They're like blood trashcans. Some pseudo-vampires are entirely feral and simply live out their lives as monstrous leeches in slow moving bodies of water. Others integrate well into society and without serious investigation, can pass for a perfectly average human.
