Assassin (AkioXWolfette)

Nichole drudges through her training. She was exhausted and hungry but she knew she couldn't stop until at least 7:00 pm. She checks the clock on the wall. 5:25. Less than two hours to go. But that was still a long time. Especially for some one in her state at the moment.

The rest of the day passes uneventful for akio, his friends came over almost everyday and they went threw regular conversation till mori start talking about akio's dad who just showed up in the papers today. "Hey akio i heard your dad is making big news, muscling into some business and making the big bucks." mori said with a wink while akio sunk into thought. He had actually been thinking about it earlier. "Yeah but its actually kind of dangerous for him, hes muscling in on a closed market that has connections to the underground." His dad was a weapons supplier and researcher for the military. But those weapons often feel into lower elements hands. "My dads got to be careful, no telling what they can do."

Nichole sighs. She just finished her training. She heads upstairs and into the kitchen. Her mom and dad were watching tv and they had left out some food for her. She grabs a plate and reheats the spaghetti. Once she finishes up eating, she heads upstairs into her room to complete any leftover homework. Her dad always saw practice more important than homework. She saw the practice as useless. She'd been training for the past 10 years and she hasn't had a single mission yet. What more could she be prepared for.

A bit after all his friends left around dinner time and Akio began cooking dinner. Sometimes his father showed up and sometimes he did not but never the less he made dinner for two. A wise decision as his father walked in very happy and just a little bit drunk. "We did it! Well i did it but we got the contract. This is our first major contract with the military we've earned over those guy's at OZ crop. We are taking the lead." Akio smiled and served his dad his food. "Good for you father, i had a feeling you would succeed." His father was a good business man and was the kind of man everyone listened to so it wasent too much of a surprise for him he got the contract. His dad walked over to the cupboard and pulled out a bottle of wine. "Drink with me a little, to celebrate." His father was usually a sticker for the rules so this surprised him slightly,, must have been a really big win. Akio sat down and let his father pour him some and toasted. He had training early every morning so he wouldnt drink to much but no harm in drinking a little. Then him and his dad ate talking about the business and other things.

Nichole finishes her homework in about an hour and listens as her parents head to bed, not even bothering to tell her goodnight. She sighs and changes into a black pair of sweatpants and a gray T-Shirt. Se puts on a pair of darkly colored tennis hoes and climbs out her window. She swings onto the roof and climbs to the top up next to the chimney. She usually sat here every night after her parents went to bed. The crisp autumn air felt good as she watched leaves fall from the surrounding trees. She looked over the small forest and noticed another house. Two teenagers were just leaving it. Soon after a man walked into the house, most likely just getting home from work. Nichole leans against the chimney and just watches over the forest.

Meanwhile after all the plates were cleared akio excused himself and went outside for some fresh air. While he could hold his drink well he had drunk more then a little bit and while retained most of his body functions he could still feel a pleasant buzz in his head. He looked around stretching with a yawn till he noticed a girl on her roof, well wasent that odd. He walked over to the yard of the house and looked up, wasent that. With that he suddenly went up a near by tree like a squirrel went over and made a small leap of faith onto the roof, surprisingly silent for a man his size and came behind nichole. "You know this is one plae i never expected to meet."

Nichole jumps slightly as a familiar voice comes up from behind her. She turns around. She could smell alcohol coming off of him. Great. She had no idea how much he had drunk and what he was planning. "And why might that be? You don't see me as a roof girl?"

"No i just never expected you lived so close." he said truthfully as he walked over. "Can i sit with you?" His eyes seemed honest and didnt mean to do anything else though it may come to her to wonder why she didnt hear him, even if she had been unfocused she was a assassin meant to be ready at any time, his foot steps must have been dead silent.

"Uh, yeah, sure." Nichole says as se scoots over a bit. She too, was amazed at how close they lived but yet never spoken before. She was on edge that she hadn't heard him. Her father would kill her if he found out. She was a trainee assassin, she should know these things.

The smell of alcohol was still slightly strong and had a certain stench to it. "So I take it you had a party?" She asks. She hadn't seen any more than those two teenagers leave the house that must be his, but that didnt mean that more wereim the house it had snuck out another way.

"My dad hit recent success in his business so he asked me to drink with him and i obliged, ive only had a few cups of wine." He said honestly. 'Though it had been strong wine.' He thought to himself. "My dad holds his alcohol a bit worse then i do so hes probably passed out already." He said thinking about it. "So any reason your sitting on your roof alone with the stars?"

Nichole nods as he explains. She answers him, "I do this every night. My parents go to bed relatively early and they never come an check on me to make sure I'm still in my room, so I climb out my window and up into the roof. Normally people don't spot me, but I try to wear dark colors anyway."

"I see, why do you do so?" He asked, he was actually surprised he never saw her before. Exactly how long had she been living here before he noticed. "I mean why do you always come up here?"

Nichole thinks about his question. "I honestly don't know. I guess I just feel so comfortable up here. It's like a place that I can escape to."

"And im guessing you feel the need to escape because of your dad?" He said remembering their earlier conversation.

"What about, theres a lot of things one can think about these days. The human race has come far and learned so much, but like usual all we can think about is what lies ahead. Thats our nature after all. What do you think lies ahead for you?"

Nichole ponders his question. She usually just thought of that days events, new training styles or new moves. She had no clue what lie ahead for her. She couldn't really see a future for her. She was mostly going to be an assassin when she got older, that is if she didn't die in her first mission. She made pretty good grades, by her dad would be very disappointed if she were to be anything but an assassin, and a disappointed dad meant an even more unhappy her. She was quiet for a moment, contemplating on how to answer. "I don't really know." She didn't want to lie, but if she didn't, she had no clue how to answer. "I think I'll follow in my dad's footsteps and continue the family business. He would be really angery if I didn't." She says.

"I will probably take over my dads business as well though in some ways ive been helping there since i was young, what does your dad do?" He asked curiously, he had never met nicholes dad and didnt know what kind of man he was.

Nichole unnoticeable pauses at the personal question of what her dad does. She mulls over the thought. Her fathers words echo in her mind.

'Remember, an assassins best tactic is surprise. The less who know about us, the better off we and they are. And the less lashings you get!'

It now seemed like more of a threat than words of advice. She hated lying and had no clue on how to answer the question without lying. She couldn't say anything like 'he's a secret agent.' Or anything like that because it would draw to much attention. But then again she didn't want some low life job that made her father look like a bum and then that would leave a question of where all of their money comes from. She had already revealed to him that it was a very demanding job and that they had to travel a lot at times. Maybe a traveling sales agent? Why not.

"My dad is a traveling sales agent. It runs in our family along the line of males. But I'm the only kid he can ge- I mean the only kid he had with my mom." She flat out lies. Not even blinking an eye.

"Travelings salesman?" He asked curiously before nodding. "My dad is a ceo of a weapons company, recently he just landed a big contract giving him a patent to to the military as their main provider. I bet some people werent very happy about that." He said laughing slightly. The alcohol had eased his nerves about that incident.
