Cleo chuckled at Deliverance's response. "For quite some, you would be correct." He admitted. "However, I do not run just a store. I run a company." He specified with great emphasis. "I do not only sell cheap materials and hand-me-downs. I wouldn't be where I am if I were so cheap with what I sell." He informed. "I sell what I know people would come for. I do not need to pray when I have exactly what people need." He proudly declared. "It took a while, but I've managed to make enough to live comfortably."
Cleo held his chin thought as Deliverance declared his rate. "Five huh?" He mumbled, deliberately omitting the unit of money used. "Ten it is then." He declared, nodding. Since he was only a temporary hire, Cleo thought that it would be better to leave off a good impression after his hours are done. Cleo then nodded his head to the lady. "I need nothing more. Thank you." The story about the merchant was intriguing enough that he wanted to ask about him, but Deliverance had beaten him to the punch. He decided to just listen in instead. With that, he moved on to the shelf holding "Arcane Sphere" and picked it out.
However, as Deliverance and the lady talked, something clicked inside Cleo's head. He remembered the small magic trick the lady had used to stick the poster, as well as Deliverance's goal. "Magic?" He muttered. He took out the bread that was with him from earlier, remembering all those little mithril bits sprinkled on some Duchy food. "Ah." A small voice leaked out from him as a figurative light bulb appeared on his head. He focused his gaze on the book "Arcane Sphere" on his other hand, then he turned to look at Deliverance. A scheme had already formed inside his head. He waited for Deliverance and the lady to end their conversation before stepping in.
"That research you are making..." He began to speak. "Is it too much trouble to ask how much progress you've had?" Cleo wanted to confirm something. "It'll be quite a time before Ophenia and TMK joins us. Until then, I would like to hear the thoughts of a researcher regarding their field." Regardless of what Deliverance might find, newfound info of the unknown is bound to be valuable, and not just any monetary way. Even if Deliverance decided against sharing, it was already enough that he was working tirelessly towards a goal. He was driven, and Cleo knows exactly what this man needs to keep that fire burning.
