Fantasy as we wander

My ear twitches, hearing the back door shut, and my mind races. Was that elf back? I dont remember us needing supplies...and nobody in thier right mind would go out in this weather unless...

"Shit shit shit shit!!!!!" I jump over the wounded assasin and scramble to the back window, only to see lineal turn the corner towards the stable market. "Oh for crying out-" I rear my fist back and punch the wall with a furrious snarl, my fist going clean through. "Goddamn kid!!!!!"

It takes me a good minute to calm myself down, rationalizing going after him, versus remaining with my current charge. As curious as I am about the exiled prince, hes still nothing more than a pay day. A pay day I can easily filch for myself later if someone kills him first. No kid was worth this much trouble no matter how much his head was worth. I then look at kalth, laying on the bed, and a delicious idea blooms forth.

"Sorry, your princeliness, but youre on your own now." I straighten my hair before plopping back down next to kalth, who gives me a look I cant quite read. "So..." I cross a leg and lean forward, displaying my more than abundant chest. "Change of plans..." my lips spread into the tiniest of smirks. "Hows about we team up?"

The assassin flicked her green eyes towards the old kitsune, squinting suspiciously in the process. The rain began to pound against the rooftops, creating a bullet-like sound as they fell from the darkened clouds. The noise caused the elf's ears to flick back and forth in irritation.

"Your going to reward ME? Huh. Seems unlikely of you," Ayrenn muttered, arching an eyebrow and crouching low to the ground until she was at eye level with him. Resting her elbows on her bent knees, the elven woman cocked her head to the side at him.

"But... If your seriously considering this, I would be happy to accept your offer." The assassin smirked at him, but her eyes flickered with suspicion like a candle.

What if he's lying? What if he is just playing you, Ayrenn?

A voice rang out in the assassin's head, and the smirk vanished from her lips. Looking at Gray, she studied him as if she had never met him before in her life.

"Are you bullshitting me right now?"

A stampede of hooves smacked against the soaked earth, a pitch black horse kicking up dead leaves and dirt with each step. It sped through the storm at full speed, with it's black mane flowing in the cold breeze. Sitting on the back, sat a girl with a black cloak enveloped on her shoulders and head. She snapped the reigns in her slender hands, urging the horse to quicken it's speed. Letting out a huff and flicking its head upward at the command, the magnificent horse kicked its legs harder and came to a full gallop. The horse entered the city of Tarantia, dashing past the gates and down the road.

The girl, however, did not see the two individuals standing in the middle of the street. The cloak drooped down in front of her electric blue eyes, concealing what little she could see. The only things she could clearly see were the leather reigns gripped tightly in her hands, and the muscles of the horses neck rippling underneath his shiny coat. Being as tall as it is, the black horse did not stop or see the fox and the girl standing only a few feet away down the dirt road. But it was already too late. Suddenly, there was a bump against the horse's chest, and the feeling of bones snapping like twigs underneath its hooves. Almost immediately, the horse skidded to a halt and reared up onto its hind legs, letting out several piercing neighs that shattered the silence. The girl on the back of the horse gasped in shock, the reigns slipping out of her small fingers as she was suddenly flung off onto the hard ground below.

The rain continued to fall. Water droplets ran down Ayrenn's platinum blonde hair like a spider descending from its web, dripping to the ground and joining nearby puddles. The assassin was curious on what the kitsune's reply would be, and she found her lime green eyes wandering across his wiry silver face. But she stopped when the thundering sound of hooves stomping against the dirt caught her attention, and she looked up to see a massive black horse speeding straight towards Gray. Almost immediately, Ayrenn burst into a full sprint, and pushed the kitsune out of the way before the horse crushed his fragile frame. As soon as she pushed him out of harms way, the horse collided with the elf.

Closing her eyes and clenching her teeth, Ayrenn let out several gasps of pain as jagged knee bones and hooves crashed into her delicate rib cage. Bones cracked and splintered inside her, and the last remaining breath trapped in her lungs was knocked out in an immense stab of pain. She rolled onto the wet dirt and into a puddle of rain. A hand was gripped at her stomach and an elbow was propped up next to her as she struggled to breathe. Crimson blood spewed out of her mouth and nose like a waterfall, and she clenched her teeth shut as she felt the slightest poke of a rib sticking out of her side.

The horse reared up once more, and kicked its feet into the air while neighing furiously. The girl climbed to her feet and coughed quietly, scrambling towards the spooked horse and running a calming hand down its neck. Instantly, the horse calmed down, letting out a few huffs and clawing at the ground with its hoof.

(Sorry I'm a bit late, I went to bed early last night after my internet decided to go out.)

"So..." The women crossed a leg and leaned forward, displaying her chest. "Change of plans..." She smirked ever so slightly. "Hows about we team up?" This is a awkward moment for him, why would she want to team up with her assailant? Kalth sat silently, trying to discern her true motive, annndd also starring at her breasts slightly. He turned his head the other way, trying to avoid any attempts of seduction. This was really bad, he hasn't had much good luck with women. Grabbing his own arm fiercely, he responded the coldest he could. "Why should I?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Argo stood there in the tavern rather silently, his drinks were already gone, along with the buzz that came with it. "Err...wher' everyone go?" He noticed the skinny boy had suddenly left out the kitchen, giving some money to Mr.Lucien. Now where might he be headin' off to?

I suppress my slightly widening smirk when his eyes quickly dart away from my breast, considering my words carefully. This was a shrewd man, and a deadly killer. He would not be brought into an alliance easily.

"Because despite what you and your lady friend may belive, im not out to protect the whelp." I lean back into the creaking chair, knowing that obvious seduction would do very little, other than make you draw away. There is a glimmer of shyness in your eyes underneath the glacial glare, and while normally this would draw me in further (as the shy ones were nearly always the most fun), you are, above all, a potential business partner, and not a bed mate. And I easlily slide out of my public persona, deciding, not without risk, to show my business face; the cold killer under my cheerful visiage. "Ive been here for weeks, gliding my way into anonymity to avoid complications. I underestimated the difficulties a high price can procure." My smirk falls, replaced with a stern, flat expression as I pull out a long elegant pipe, and begin to stuff the small bowl with a pinch of tobacco. "This is not a one man job, assassin. The boy prince may be young and naive, but he is no fool, and has found it easy to slip through our fingers on pure accident. " I stab you with a half glare at this, making it clear how irritating I find this, and light my pipe, taking a long, drawn out drag, before exhaling swirling plumes of blue smoke. "Immagine how much more wiley the child could become should he do so with intent? This is why I propose an alliance. A temporary partnership affording mutual and equal gain." I take another hit. "The bounty would be split sixty/ fourty. You with the larger cut, as I do more than simple assasinations and bounty hunting, and thusly, am in no enormous need for coin. And you of course will receive the official credit. I prefer my anonymity." At this I hand you the vial of blue medicinal...fodder. "think of this as an offering of...friendship." my lips curl into a businesslike smile. "What say you?"

Helping old people a crossed the street is noble. But kicking them a crossed like a foot ball, you might not get thanked for.

Gray flew through the air and landed in the mud, the wind knocked out of him. What the heck did she do that- ! Oh. Ouch. He could see that his Injury's were nothing compared to hers at the moment. He struggled to his feet and made his way over to her. He could see there was an other person so he made up his mind to keep his mouth shut. No sense in letting everyone know he was a Kitsune.

Rakela shrugged and pulled her arm back, figuring that the boy had not noticed.

Whatever.

She ordered a meal and sat down at a table in the back, wondering what she was going to do now. It was highly unusual for a barfight to be ended so abruptly, and she had no idea what to do.

Sighing, she payed for her meal and stepped outside, glancing at the gloomy sky.

Suddenly, she laughed and unfurled her wings, soaking in the rain, her face facing the heavens.

...................

A little while later....

Rakela peered down from her perch on the roof, searching for the Kitsune she had met- or crashed into- at the tavern.

"I-I'm so sorry! I didn't see you!" The girl with the black cloak exclaimed, lifting a pale hand and brushing the cloak out of her gaze. She jogged towards Ayrenn, widening her eyes in shock with her mouth agape at the assassin. But her shock subsided in seconds. With a small hmph, the girl suddenly just smiled and stared at Ayrenn's pain.

"Well, well, well... If it isn't Ayrenn Dracoseir. I don't feel so bad for running you over now." The girl's electric blue eyes stared down at the assassin harshly, and she placed a hand on her hip. Coughing and splattering blood onto the ground, Ayrenn slowly rose to her feet. Wiping the back of her hand across her mouth, she cleared the blood that dripped down her chin. The elf grinned weakly, and turned towards the girl.

"Getting run over by you, I'm not surprised. You're such an idiot. How could you not see two people standing CLEARLY in the middle of the road? F*cking dumbass..." The assassin snarled, spitting blood onto the girl's shoes purposefully. The girl gasped in shock as she watched the glob of blood land on her newly cleaned shoes. Growling angrily, the girl with black hair stomped towards her and stared her straight in the face.

"How dare you! Do you know how expensive these shoes are?! I had to sleep with the wealthiest man in town to get my hands on these!" The girl screeched in the most annoying childish tone. Ayrenn's ears flicked back at the noise, and she groaned in irritation.

"Shut the hell up. You're giving me a damn headache, you whore." The elven woman began wandering towards the tavern, motioning for Gray to follow.

Pain vibrated through her bones with every step, but she tried her best not to show it. Blood splattered down her chin again, and she put a hand on the tavern doors to steady herself.

"Hey! I'm not finished you just yet, Dracoseir...!" Kelaina's annoying voice called out in an echo behind her. Ayrenn gritted her teeth, and pushed through the tavern doors to get away from the girl's high pitched voice. The assassin stood in the middle of the tavern, wobbling a bit as her vision began to blur. She gripped her head, and forced herself to have a seat at one of the tables. Gasping in pain, the broken rib sticking out of her side dug into her skin even further. In response, more blood continued to flow out of her nose and mouth. Flicking her gaze upwards, she could see through the blurriness she was drawing a lot of attention. Coughing again, she smiled weakly at the kitsune now in front of her.

"You okay? Sorry about kicking you... I just didn't want you getting hurt..." The rare emotion of sympathy invaded the tone of her voice as she stared at Gray.

Kalth listened intently to the words the elvish woman spoke, she switched from a seductive tone to that of a shrewd business woman. Someone he COULD deal with better. She withdrew a pipe, taking hits from time to time. It was a large surprise to hear that the elvish woman actually wasn't protect the prince, trying to grab the bounty herself. (Gotta take like this whole paragraph. xD ) "This is not a one man job, assassin. The boy prince may be young and naive, but he is no fool, and has found it easy to slip through our fingers on pure accident. " she stabbed Kalth with a half glare at this, making it clear how irritating she found this, and lit her pipe, taking a long, drawn out drag, before exhaling swirling plumes of blue smoke. "Imagine how much more wiley the child could become should he do so with intent? This is why I propose an alliance. A temporary partnership affording mutual and equal gain." She took another hit. "The bounty would be split sixty/ fourty. You with the larger cut, as I do more than simple assassinations and bounty hunting, and thusly, am in no enormous need for coin. And you of course will receive the official credit. I prefer my anonymity." At this she handed over the vial of blue medicinal...fodder. "think of this as an offering of...friendship." She gave a disturbing business-like smile. "What say you?" All of this information was thrown at Kalth, it was rather sudden as well. He would get the credit and keep a larger portion of the money. Kalth looked down at his hands, curling his fingers into a fist. "The money is not what I need. If I don't kill the prince, this town will..." He whispered.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Argo was still standing there, bored out of his mind, being a sentry, and completely sober. "Gods I hate being sober." He whispered. After a few moments, Gray and that elf Ayrenn returned through the front door. I can't tell, is she gonna leave or stay? Pick your poison lass. His thoughts were quickly diminished when he saw her state, bloodied and broken. "Oi, oi, oi! Wha' happened to you girly?" He yelled, rushing over in her direction.

Pangs of immense pain stabbed the elf straight in the chest, causing her to let out a hoarse gasp as she slipped off the chair, and to the wooden floor. Her knees were bent and a hand was pressed against the ground to hold herself up. The salty liquid spewed up her throat, making her lurch forward and vomit the crimson substance all over the floor. She let out several deep raspy breaths as she felt Argo's pounding footsteps coming towards her. The assassin waved him away, forcing a smirk onto her face as she struggled to stand up.

"Don't... *cough* worry about it. I'll be fine." Ayrenn sputtered, managing to climb to her feet. But because of how much blood she had lost, she wasn't standing for long. Her knees buckled from underneath her as blackness swirled into her vision. She collapsed to the ground in a pile of blood and broken bones, the rib now visibly sticking out from her side. The assassin fell unconscious in seconds.

As he trails off, torrents of stress simply radiate off the assasin before me, and i set doen my pipe, deciding its about time to take at least some of that away. "What the town does or does not do is of no consiquence. We will kill him cleanly and quickly. The whelp has done little to earn a painful death." I shift fom my seat on the chair to the edge of your bed, being careful not to jostle kalth about too much as my hands flow over the many clasps and ties of his rmor, which now is in terrible need of repair. My smile returns, gentile this time, reassuring, when I feel you shift slightly, as if alarmed by my actions. "Peace, assassin." I begin to remove your outer armor, setting each piece on the bedside armoire. "I only mean to inspect the damage." I continue in silence for a moment, and the smoke from my pipe flitters in a smooth line up to the celing from where it sits. "It is not a question of if you dont kill him, its a simple of matter of when you do."

"Peace, assassin." She whispered, trying to seem keep Kalth calm. The injured assassin realized he had grabbed her wrist, almost strongly enough to snap it. He let go immediately, it was an unintended action, but simply a natural response for him. The girl kept removing pieces of Kalth's armor, which was in terrible condition, one by one. The pain in his side was clouding his mind, why would he allow her to do this otherwise? Kalth closed his eyes a moment and opened them again, looking the elf right in her own. "Name. What's yours?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Argo watched as Ayrenn collapsed before him onto the ground, obviously in great pain before going unconscious. "Oi girly, don't go dyin' on the floor now." He yelled, worry gripped at him. He walked over to the elf girl, trying to figure out his course of action. Argo lifted her up slowly, only to hear a soft crack sound from her body. "Oohhhh noooo.." He whispered. I-I held her too tight. What do I do? I can't pick her up without hurting her...'Mr.Gray!? Evvaaaa, were gonna need some sort of doctor fer this or somthin'."

Kalth takes me aback with looking at me so...directly. it wasnt often someone was bold enough, or in laymans terms, honest enough to look me in the eye. It disarms me a bit. I return the favor, forcing down the feintest flush of color in my face. "Eva." I say, leaving it at that while removing your chest guard and gently tearing your shirt open, not wanting to risk injuring you further.

By the gods of Asgard...

I swallow thickly, driving away all of my over imaginative thoughts and focusing on the healing that needed to be done. However...

"I immagine these earn you a good reputation." I offer a teasing smirk and empty the vial into my hand, carefully applying the "salve" to each bruise and abrasion over your abdominals, gradually moving up your chest.
I find myself rather distracted by, er... focused on my task, and do not yet notice argo shouting.

As the rain grew stronger, more and more people began to throw cloaks over their shoulders and it became harder for Lineal to tell who was carrying weapons. Finally he decided that it was no longer safe for him to travel along the ground and slipped into a narrow alleyway. Taking a few steps back he ran towards a wall, climbing up a few steps before pushing off and catching the edge of a windowsill on the opposite wall. From there he threw himself upwards to grab the edge of the roof and pull himself up and over. Taking a peek back down he spotted two cloaked figures searching the alley, very much confused as to where their quarry disappeared to. Grinning, Lineal climbed to his feet. Now to find his way to the horse stables.

Gracefully he made his way across the slippery rooftops, sliding down the slopes of the roofs and hopping over the gaps. Drifting to a stop, Lineal paused when he heard the familiar neigh of a horse from the street below. And not just the familiar neigh of a horse, but the neigh of a familiar horse. A black mare with three white streaks down her side and emerald green eyes. She was weighed down by travel bags and on her back sat a man who had been ill prepared for the rain. A man that Lineal recognized.

"Brendan, you bastard." Lineal growled under his breath...

just didn't want you getting hurt..." The rare emotion of sympathy invaded the tone of her voice as she stared at Gray.

Compassion? From her?? Huh. Perhaps there WAS hope for that one. "It's only a bruise, Ayrenn. Or perhaps a broken rib. Now speaking of ribs, perhaps I should..." She started to stagger towards the inn leaving him with mouth open.

"...Or..." he said "...we can shake it off like a big girl and go for a quick walk afterwords." He rolled his eyes "it's not as if you just got TRAMPLED BY A HORSE!"

He sighed an followed her into the inn. He could see that the levitated patrons were already starting to drift down. "Ayrenn," he said. "You do realize that I'm a-" Then she started puking blood and Gray went fish eyed "-Heeealerrrr ok THAT was dramatic."

Naturally, Argo (bless his heart) tried to help.

"Mr.Gray!? Evvaaaa, were gonna need some sort of doctor fer this or somthin'."

"Yes, I can see that." Said Gray with calm urgency. "Argo, Set her down. Gently. I'll handle this." Argo set the woman down as Gray quietly asked for his deities blessing. He got it, and felt his aura swell with divine power. He automatically knew what to do.

He lightly tapped the protruding rib with his claw and the bone instantly retreated back into her flesh and refitted itself. He looked inside her body and watched as the bone passed the divine power infusing it through her sternum, calling its sisters back and reforming the rib cage.

Deeper in her abdominal region he could see internal bleeding. This was where most of his power needed to go. He placed a paw on her stomach and with watched as the burst organs reabsorbed the blood that had spilled out and sealed themselves back up.

What was left of the power Inari gave him would be used for external injuries. For this he simply breathed it out over her, and did what he could about the gash on her chest, and even the blood on her skin, which soaked back into her veins. Then he was done. And feeling a little drained.

Shit...well...both has the most votes so ill take it down. Can you whip up a little somethin for the other plots withjn the next werk or so?

Ok, switched from my laptop to the pc. See if restarting it will help any. until then I'll be using this. :D Anywho, you need a story right? Fer pirates and or the dragons thingy? Screw a week, Gimme a day. :3

The elven assassin still lay unconscious. A few relieved sighs slipped between her pink petal colored lips as the rib slid back into its normal place. The injured organs were revived and returned to their original state, and the blood flow dripping down from her mouth and nose, stopped suddenly. Her body relaxed itself as the pain faded away, and her breathing began to slow to a more level pace. As if recognizing that the unbearable pain was gone, Ayrenn's consciousness slowly came back to her.

Groaning quietly, the elf's eyes flickered open, blinking a few times as she tried to clear the blurriness in her vision. She watched as the two fuzzy figures came into view, recognizing Argo's heavy build and Gray's silver muzzle standing over her. Sitting up in her place, the assassin gripped her pounding head, and opened a single eye to glance over at the kitsune. A small smirk spread across her lips as their gazes met.

"Is this your way of repaying me for saving your ass earlier?" The assassin chuckled, obviously back to her old self. And than, the elven woman actually SMILED at the kitsune. Pushing herself off of the ground, the smile vanished behind her long locks of blonde hair as the strands brushed in front of her face.

"Sorry for the trouble." The elf said while plopping down onto a seat at the bar. Lucian was back to his usual cleaning, wiping a wet wash cloth across the counter's surface. Ayrenn glanced down at the silver kitsune, grinning.

"Now, I'm afraid we have some business to attend to. Shall we continue our conversation from earlier?" She said while motioning for them to take it upstairs.

Rakela lightly jumped off the tall roof, and slowly drifted down, her wings spread.

She scowled at the sky and rain, which was starting to weigh her down.... Whoooooooooaa!

A sudden-and very strong gust of wind, sent her veering to the side, directly at a rather hard and large house.... Something she would rather not run into.

Folding her wings, she dropped from the sky like a rock, and quickly pulled them out, about 10 meters from the hard ground.

She swerved this way and that, narrowly avoiding buildings. She slammed into the ground and stumbled.... Right into someone's arms.

She quickly regained her balance and looked back at the... man that was at least 7 inches taller than her and looked oddly familiar. The way his purple eyes twinkled slightly, the long white hair, his posture, the cocky smile, the familiar scent.... Shit.

"Father." She looked at him in the eyes, not blinking. Old memories of her mother and father flooded into her mind, and anger surged through her body.

"Rakela. I see I'm catching you, as always." He smirked and gestured towards the canopy of a closed shop. It was crowded with people who were desperately trying to stay dry. "Shall we get out of the rain!"

Rakela put her arms to her sides and stayed in the rain, clenching her fists tightly. "No."

Her father looked at her curiously. "What is wrong with you right now? I caught you and just offered you a dry place to chat at, and you say no?!?"

"That would be correct. What are you doing here?" She asked, gritting her teeth as she ignored his question.

"The usual. Meeting people, seeing new sights-" Rakela rolled her eyes at this- "and collecting bounties. Yeah, the usual."

Rakela was confused now. "Bounties? Who?"

Her father smiled. "Surely you must know. You even smell like him." He chuckled suggestively.

Smell like him. Him=dad's target. Him=running away. Running away= getting chased... Tavern? Boy? Crashing into him?!? Craaaaaap. My Father is trying to kill that boy.

She narrowed her eyes. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

Her father rolled his eyes. "Ooooof course not."

Suddenly furious, Rakela turned away and began to walk down the street.

"Don't be like that! I didn't even get to ask what you're been doing these past...5 years(?) now!"

Rakela firmly ignored him. Sighing, he jogged up to her, his long white hair soaked from the rain. He placed a hand on her bare shoulder, and she stopped, resisting the urge to bite his hand. Her shoulders trembled lightly.

"Rachel, at least come with me and meet my new girlfriend! I think you'll love her. Just like your mother-except way better."

That was the past straw for Rakela. She turned around slowly and stared her father in the eyes. "First off, only friends may call me Rachel. And secondly-" she got no further, and instead smashed a fist into his stomach.

He doubled up, wheezing. After a moment, he glanced up at the angry half dragon, humor in his eyes.

"Well, she certainly is-"

He stumbled, seeing stars, and when his head cleared, his daughter was no where in sight. He swore softly and leaned against a pillar, still regaining his breath.

Gotta find the boy, gotta find the boy.

Rakela weaved through the crowd of cloaked people, shaking out her aching fist. She glanced down at her left hand and cursed. The knuckles were bright white and were crooked and out of place. She was no expert on injuries, but she guessed she had dislocated a knuckle. Heh, she probably had to punch that hard to get through her father's thick skull.

Worrying about her father seeing her, she glanced around nervously, and let her hand fall to her side. She had no cloak on, and the vast majority of her pale skin was not covered in cloth.

She hurriedly shoved a person out of the way, beginning to smell the boy's scent, but it didn't sound like it was anywhere close.

"Of course" Gray responded. "Allow me to to grab my breakfast and I'll be right up". He went into the other room to grab his plate. "My cold, cold breakfast. Yum."
As Gray walked into the kitchen, Lucine- who was wondering when THOSE two got so chummy- said "Could you, um, magic something up about the roof? It's kind of raining." Without a word, Gray scooped up some of the surrounding fey magic from his uber spell, put a forcefield over the hole, and said, "There. That should hold it till I find a more permanent solution." Of course, weaving his levitation spell in with the roof-patching spell weakened the first, and Gray watched the floating people sink down about half a foot.

'In a few minutes,' he thought, 'the spell will fade, and I'll have a swarm of bounty hunters on the boy. It's like watching a beehive fall in slow motion.'

He wondered, why not bribe them all? Surely there would be enough treasure to share. Form a huge expedition. Let Ayrenn be the "brains" of the operation while he gave her advice and kept his identity private. He would have to bring the prince along as insurance, of course. No bounty hunter worth his salt was going to ditch their prize to go on a treasure hunt that might be a hoax.

But was boy it worth it? A criminal? Gray was all for going the extra mile for a lost soul, but he had planed on saving the treasure for something climactic and noble, such as rewarding some goodhearted pauper, or funding a rebellion against an evil king, something like that. Was it really worth spending it all filling the pockets of greedy mercenaries to save some random fugitives skin? What was his crime, anyway?

He supposed he would have to ask. And if he needed a further judge of character, well, Good thing tonight was a waxing half moon. Where was he anyway? Oh. Right. Probably about to get "shown the rope" by Evah. She HAD shown Interest in him. Gray figured he should should go save the boys chastity before-

-Wait. Evah + bounty + boy + alone = !

HELL YES, HE NEEDED TO SAVE HIM! His chastity was the LEAST of his worries! Scratch breakfast! He turned on a dime and ran upstairs.

("BAOW! Damn arthritis!")

"I imagine these earn you a good reputation." Eva joked, she seemed impressed by something. He turned his gaze away from her eyes, he wasn't going to lie, she was a real beauty. Kalth needed to be careful around her, she seemed like the type of women to use her looks as a weapon. "As an Assassin you don't have a reputation." He whispered, still throwing up a cold wall. Why would Eva need his help? They boy has been under her wing for a while now. Perhaps to be used as cannon fodder? A puppet of sorts? Maybe just quick entertainment. No. There's another reason. But what? Kalth stopped his thought process and gazed back at the women, still applying the..salve, to his chest. His mask. He almost had forgotten about it. He placed his right hand upon it, trying to hold it in place.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(OH GOD THIS WAS ANNOYING TO TYPE. MAKE IT END. Argo is following people, good enough.)

"As an Assassin you don't have a reputation. " he whispered, still throwing up a cold wall towards me. I nod in agreement. As a theif I dont have one either, however, im a special breed. One of the clever ones. I dont say as much, but rather give him a simple knowing smile as I add a bit of magic to help the medicine affect more than it normally would, and your broken ribs creak gently and seamlessly back into place. "You dont have to worry. " I whisper back, half teasing your tendancy to whisper, and half accommodating it."ill let you turn around when its time to fix that hansome face. " My hands move down to the waistline of your pants. "I hope you arent as modest as you are secretive." I move to the foot of the bed after loostening your ties and with one firm tug, I pull your pants off without jarring your broken leg. "Oh dear..." I give you a genuine look of concern at the sight of your utterly mangled knee.

Gray hastily told Ayrenn that he would be a moment longer as rushed past her, running as fast as his legs could carry him (which, despite his age, was still pretty fast). He leapt up the stairs, 4 at a time, hoping that he wasn't to late.

He ran up Evahs door, pushed his mind through the lock mechanism and opened it. "Evah, I know what you're doing, and I...!" he saw the scene that was taking place inside. "...Never mind. So I don't (And I think I'd prefer to keep it that way)." He coughed, "My apologies, have you seen Lineal?"

"Damn it! Move you stupid animal!" Brendan screamed, kicking the horse hard in the side. He was cold and wet and just wanted to get under cover, but as usual she had decided to stop cooperating with him and had stopped walking altogether. How the brat had been able to ride the stubborn beast was beyond him and Brendan was regretting stealing her. Giving her a few more kicks with no results he finally decide to take more drastic measures. Pulling out a knife he took careful aim at her backside. "This should get you-!"

Next thing he knew he was on the ground with a knee planted firmly in his chest. "Nice to see that you're treating my horse well, Brendan." Lineal snarled, making the man's hearts stop. "G-get off of me, you monster!" Brendan screamed looking around frantically for his dagger. He spotted it a few feet away, just out of reach.

"Monster? I'm the monster?!" Lineal roared, the air around him beginning to ripple with magical energy. "I'm not the one who ordered his men to raze an entire village to the ground!"

So, I've been tying to make it so that Gray doesn't go revealing himself as a Kitsune to just any one, but during Ayrenns dramatic near death scene, I forgot about the people caught in the levitation spell. I imagine most of them saw him heal Ayrenn and heard him talk. So, I toyed around with it and wrote down what I thought you might have heard from the peanut gallery.

"And yet another adventurer crawls in and bleeds to death on the floor. Must be Thursday, that kind of thing always seems to happens on Thursday."

"PAUL! Show little respect"

"Your Right, I'm Sorry. (Ahem) Oh dearly departed, we gather here to witness the bleeding out of this crazy chick known as Ayrenn who stabs people and recently bashed Tonys skull in. She will be sorely missed."

"Good point. I hope you never write a eulogy,"

"Um, for what it's worth, I didn't like Tony. I was actually rooting for- wait, where'd he go?"

"Oh, down there."

"Oh. Great. Only DEAD people get to go down."

"I don't think he IS dead"

"I have to pee"

"Oi, isn't that Bramblebores pet fox?

"(It's Thrandelore you idiot.)"

"Who?"

"Don't you know? Old wizard,? deaf as a post?"

"How would I know? I don't live here. I'm just here for the bounty."

"Wait, what bounty?"

"Wouldn't you like to know."

"Ain't Thrandy dead?"

"He is!?"

"Yep, I can confirm that. Found a jar of ashes with his name on it by the side of the road and a note saying to take it to-"

"Holy...!"

"What?

"That little guy just TALKED?!"

"Your hearing things, Pete."

"No I heard it too!"

"Not me. OY, LUCINE! I'LL HAVE WHAT THEIR HAVING!"

"(Tch. If he can find a ladder)"

"Well he is- er- WAS a wizards familiar..."

"I didn't know Gray could talk, did you know he could talk?"

"I'm floating in the air. I just watched a man get thrown through the roof. Frankly, I cant bring myself to be surprised."

"Yeah, I knew there was something odd about him. Way too smart. Unnaturally so"

"No, that just means he's a fox."

"HOLY $@&%!"

"What? OHMYGOSH!"

"SHE'S ALIIIIIIVE!!!!"

"Weeeell, crud"

"Did he just HEAL HER!"

"OMGWTF!!!"

"Ok, y'know, I think I got it figured out...!"

"Do you, now?"

"Yeah! First, the old mans pet is here! Then there's all this floaty stuff! and then he talks! and then he's healing her! Aaand he happens be gray! Like ASH! Get the picture?"

"Um...no?"

"Gray's ALWAYS been gray, Morris. It's why he's called that."

"(No, no. Let him continue. I want to hear THIS one.)"

"(sigh) What do mean?"

"ITS THRANDELOR COME BACK FROM THE GRAVE!!!"

"OH MY GOSH HE'S RIGHT!"

"GHOST!!"

"(Well, this place was going to need an exorcism one way or the other.)"

I haven't decide how gray will respond to this. Then again, things might go a lot smoother if Gray told them what he was.

But someone pointed out that if they weren't expecting him to do anything special, they would have assumed that someone else was talking and that something else was responsible for Ayrenns miraculous recovery
