As One

"Wouldn't you love to prove me wrong? Let's make a bet. If I succeed you got to stop calling me weakling and if I fail...I'll...I'll train under you." Max said not moving his eyes from his hand held.

"To succeed you'd have to defeat me in battle so I don't think so. Not wasting time, effort, and likely Feather because when you fail you're dead." Kai replied.

"...Are you serious? You are sending Feather on a mission where you have to be capable of beating you? I know she can't. I'm not asking you to send me on the final boss battle, but a smaller quest so I can level up and prepare for the boss battle." He then put away his hand held. 'Okay that's enough video games.' "There has to be some mid boss or something."

"They're a collection of equals, all on the same a level a democratic army of crusaders. I'm training Feather to utilize the power required for this, Feather would crush you if she ever would ever get over herself enough to use that kind of power against you." Kai replied with a shrug. "The only way you go is if you can beat me, which we both know you can't."

"Why do I have a feeling in every sentence you are going to speak to me you are either going to call me weakling or tell me I can't beat you. *sigh* I'll let you know I've killed two of them. They wanted something at River Dale and started messing with the mermaids. I helped out and killed the bastards and there small army." Max said honestly as he sat on the ground and petted a pass out Feather.

"That's what you think, you don't even know who they are. I know there plans inside and out. They had nothing to do with the under sea life forms at this stage. If anything you got another puppet gang like the Syndicate. Only would think you actually defeated a foe you don't know anything about." Kai replied with the bitter truth.

"*sigh* You are desperate to make sure I don't help you. It's kinda of annoying. Look the person I need to kill is one of the head guys. And don't say he isn't I know he is I've done very through research. Anyway I'm the one who is going to kill the bastard...no matter what." Max said though he mumbled the last three things.

"Think what you want inferior, but I'll make sure the guy you're referring dies by my hand and that is if he even remains with them at this time. Try to interfere or speak another word and I'll make you even more of a Nobody than I did before. We're probably not even talking about the same organization. Know your place you fool." Kai replied with a smirk.

'To start a fight or not to start a fight.' "Then why don't you tell me exactly what we are dealing with. And if it my guy I will kill him." He said as he glanced over his shoulder. "Or am I to weak and absent minded to understand what's going on?"

"Now you're getting it your too weak and absent minded to understand."Kai replied. He used Absolute Intellect to compare the information concerning Max's past to Kai's former comrades and came up negative. "It doesn't even add up, the guy you're talking about would be killed by my former comrades for experimenting for creating artificial hybrids among other things that goes against the Code."

Max was completely unamused. "Whatever, since you made these guys up I cant really get involved. Maybe I'll create my own evil organization." Max muttered. He glanced down at Feather and sighed. "Fine if you don't need me I guess I'll cause another blackout in the city." He said seriously as he stood up and stretched.

Max shrugged and picked up Feather. He dropped her off at his house before heading to the city. He went to a power plant, but stopped outside of it. 'How boring...how god damn boring.' He thought as he let a blast of electricity, air and fire shot from him. "Huh, that's new. Intresting." He left the power plant and headed to a more discreet place at the edge of River Dale. With that he began to train and started to unlock even more elements. 'So I just need to have one near death experience to unlock these.' He thought as he began to manipulate ice. "God I'm bored." He muttered as he started using his powers as if he always had them. 'How can I cause trouble? Or at least do something fun?'

Feather rolled over in her sleep and felt soft blankets wrapped around her. Her eyes snapped open and she found herself in someone's bed. It reeked of Max and she figured he'd dropped her before going to cause trouble. She smirked and sat up, slowly rising out of bed. She walked out of the bedroom and looked around. It was nice.

"Of course it's nice. Please don't tell me you thought I lived in a dump." Max said as he entered his room and leaned against the wall. "I'm not sure if you knew this, but Kai...well he's an asshole."

Feather jumped at his voice and turned to look at him. She smirked. "Of course I did not think so. And yeah, I know he is." She replied. She walked over to him and raised an eyebrow. "Now, what trouble have you caused while I was out?" She asked, kissing his cheek as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Max wrapped his hands around her waist and smirked. "Well I found out that I'm every element. I only needed one near death experience to unlock them. As soon as I learn how to use them without a hitch I'll be a bit on the OP side. I got my dragon form back, but how I did that will not be mentioned." He said with a smirk as he leaned down and kissed Feather. "Are you really going to help Kai in this mission of his?"

Feather kissed him back before leaning back, looking down at his chest. "Well, firstly, be careful. And also, great." She smirked. "He gave it back!?" She asked, her eyes bright. "That's great!" She said, smiling. She then frowned slightly at the mention of Kai's mission. "I don't know.. He made it seem like it was the only option, and I'm kind of scared.." She replied, resting her face in his neck as she pressed herself closer, her eyes cold and distant. She shook her head. "I don't know... I'll have to wait and see, plus, I really see no other option." She whispered, suddenly feeling small.

"He won't tell me a damn thing all he said was that if you can't beat him you will die. Either you are far stronger than I know...or...really I hate that he is making you chose like that. How about this, if you want, I'll help you out." Max said with a smirk, genuinely worried about Feathers safety.

Feather smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thank you.." She whispered to him. "I'm lucky to have you as a friend." She said, hugging him tightly.

"Ouch. And there goes the last of my pride. I may not know a damn thing about relationships, but unless you do this with Kai and please tell me you don't, I'd like to think of myself more than a friend." He said with a smirk as he leaned down and started kissing along her neck.

Feather laughed. "No I don't. He wouldn't bother in participating in 'unnecessary contact'." She said, intimidating Kai. She then smirked and looked down at him. "More than a friend? Well ain't you confident eh?" She asked in her British accent. She laughed. "True though.."

#FriendZoned

"Ok if I'm not more than a friend I guess I'll just leave. Now that I think about it a new game is coming out in a week. Better start standing in line." He joked as he started to play with her hair.

Feather laughed and pulled him closer. "Oh you're not going anywhere.." She whispered into his ear as she kissed his neck, moving up to his chin and then pressed her lips on his.

Max deepened the kiss and pushed her onto the bed. He straddled her and smirked. "I don't know, I mean if you could confirm the fact I'm more than a friend then maybe, just maybe I won't get the game." He said before he leaned down and kissed her deeply.
