Artifacts made out of Gossamer?

My main question is whether or not you can make a Fivefold Harmonic Adapter out of gossamer.

According to Gossamer-Forging Art on pg 194 of the Fair Folk book, you can make weapons, armor and tools out of gossamer, but doesn't mention any other sort of the random artifacts you can find in the books. Can items made from this charm even be considered artifacts, or just better quality (exceptional/perfect) mundane weapons?

Conversely, is it possible to make a gossamer weapon look like it's made out of one of the magical materials with Gossamer-Forging Art?

Is the only way to get a hold of gossamer weapons, armor and tools to make them via the Gossamer-Forging Art personally, or could you purchase them using dots in Artifacts?

For example, if you wanted to acquire a gossamer daiklave, would you have to buy the charms to make it yourself, or assume someone else has already made it and buy it using the Artifact background? If gossamer weapons count as artifacts.

Any ideas, answers or links to answers already typed up would be awesome.

Some of this is filtered through 1E knowledge, so take with a grain of salt.

The latter. Compare, for example, to items made with quintessence or ambrosia (which can barely make jade). Making the five-magical materials is pretty hard. Making something that looked like them, however, is probably something gossamer would be rather good at.

Worse, items made of gossamer degrade when in creation. In 1E, armor would loose something like 1L/1B of soak per week.

So, they probably could be bought with artifact dots, but they wouldn't last long.

Actually, you can make artifacts with gossamer, according to Scroll of the Monk's Quicksilver Hand of Dreams style, but nothing higher than Artifact 3, IIRC.

That raises an interesting question. Since you can make armor out of gossamer using Gossamer-Forging Art, the armor would have no mobility or fatigue penalty, and the armor can be permanent even in Creation...

...and the armor is essentially made out of dreams...

...as a Storyteller, would you rule such armor would be an exception to the "not compatable with armor" restriction of Quicksilver Hand of Dreams style?

That makes sense.
Thanks
The effects of Gossamer-Forging Art is based on Essence-Forging Art. That Charm lists the possible quality of the armor, weapons or tools created as being up to perfect (with four successes, and permanent (even in Creation) with one additional success.

As such, the items created wouldn't be artifact level, but rather high-quality mundane plus the bonuses that come with being made of Gossamer.

They would not, however, degrade while in Creation so long as they had been made with permanence.

It already is such an exception, spelled out in the Gossamer Understanding's Charm discription.

Ah! Good catch! I totally missed that.
