Arranged Marriage RP

SandraDeelightful

Look at me, I’m Sandra Dee
Cecilia walked down the stairs of her large house, when she reached the bottom, saw her father along with two other men. She recognized one of them as a business partner of her father, but the other one was unfamiliar to her.

"Ah, there she is," she heard her father say.

"Hello, Daddy," she said, kissing his cheek. She turned to the other men. "Hello, Mr. Wolfe. Hello, Mister..."

He looked up at his... fiancé. He stood tall and tried not to sigh outloud. He gave a small polite bow "Miss Blythe. Its a pleasure" His father nodded approvingly "Yes, may i introduce my son, Daniil. Recently returned from Arabia"

"The pleasure is mine, Mr. Wolfe," said Cecilia, not really meaning it. "May I ask why you both are here?"

"Cecilia," Mr. Blythe scolded lightly.

"What, Daddy?" Cecilia asked. "I'd like to know."

Wolfes father looked slightly surprised, his eyebrows raised in a questioning fashion "Really Blythe?! You haven't told the poor girl?"

Daniil bit his tounge from saying anything, maybe there was someway out yet. A loophole?! Anything?

"Told me what, Daddy?" Cecilia asked.

"Cecilia, darling, you are going to marry Daniil," said Mr. Blythe.

Cecilia's eyes widened and she shook her head.

"No, no, I refuse," said Cecilia.

"Darling, this isn't a choice," said Mr. Blythe.

Daniil, kept his gaze from meeting hers. He didn't want this. Neither did. His father, kept a polite air about him "It was planned months in advance. Your courtship will last another year, and then you'll be wed. It was signed by your father, and myself" he explained. His hands folded behind his back

Daniil sighed noticeably, and his father gave him a slight glare.

"Of course we understand if your not comfortable with this choice at first, but im sure after spending time together courting you'll be more than a brilliant match" The older man said with a confident smile.

He nodded in agreement "Does this mean we ca-" Mr. Wolfe cuffed his son around the ear "No it does not"

Cecilia turned to Daniil.

"Mr. Wolfe, I would like you to know that I have absolutely no intentions of marrying you," said Cecilia.

"The feelings mutual" he nodded and turned to their fathers. "There must be a loophole? A way out? We obviously are not a good match, and this could only end in disaster"

"Daddy, Mr. Wolfe, neither of you can force me into this marriage," said Cecilia.

Mr. Blythe grabbed Cecilia.

"Cecilia, darling, please behave yourself," said Mr. Blythe.

Mr. Wolfe frowned "My dear girl, do you think any of us had marriages purely out of love?" He said shaking his head with a unimpressed look.

"I don't care if any of you had marriages out of duty," said Cecilia. "I am not you, sir, and I refuse to have a marriage for any other reason than love."

"Blythe, would you please talk some sense into your daughter?" Mr. Wolfe said and had a serious expression.

"Cecilia--" Mr. Blythe started.

"Daddy, how could you do this to me?" Cecilia asked. "You know I would never marry anyone you told me to marry, or anyone told me to marry."

"Cecilia that is enough," said Mr. Blythe. "You will marry him."

"No," Cecilia whispered.

Mr Wolfe nodded curtly "Its settled then. The courtship starts tommorow" he said and looked towards Mr. Blythe "Arrangements will have to be made for a chaperone, and place"

"Are you suggesting we leave you two alone together? You may not like eachother. But i wont have a breach of tradition" he said in surprise at the thought

"This country runs on tradition. It always has and always will be. It was the first building blocks of civilisation and therefore, should be followed. A man and woman out of wedlock should not be left alone together, under any circumstances except the extremes." He said, will a sense of utter belief.

Daniil sighed, his father was a little... extreme at times. He had kept quiet till now, not wanting to intervene. He coughed and looked at his father "Well... maybe its time we return home pa"

"Good idea," said Cecilia.

Cecilia turned on her heal and left.

"I'm so sorry about her," said Mr. Blythe. "She's a bit strong willed and independent."
