Name: Christiane De'ceon

Age: 18

Personality: Christiane is a charming, elegant young woman who was raised to be the perfect lady - including how to be deceptive. Even though she is most likely one of the most graceful beings you could ever see she is also extremely driven when it comes to what she wants both personally and politically - often the two of them being one in the same. Deep down she is usually a rather cold person, knowing what she wants and doing whatever she needed to in order to obtain it no matter who she used or how.

Background: Christiane De'ceon is the youngest of four girls and two boys. Growing up she was extremely close to both of her brothers yet distant from her sisters most likely because while her brothers and sisters would have immense responsibility, since there were so many in front of her they all assumed she would be of no use and just be taken care of by an allowance made by whomever was on the throne since she would be a duchess. Not to mention the fact that not all of them had the same mother.

The war with France had begun when she was about the age of 10 and by the age of 17 all of her sister were married off her her brothers were taking major responsibilities with their country. Most of her sister's marriages had been done to solidify allies at court during the war with France. Just when she believed she would die old and alone, being nothing but dead weight to her father and his kingdom, she was told that the war with France was over and the treaty was to ensure her marriage to the King of France himself! While his father had started the war, the new King of France had ended it - he was sure to be a wonderful ruler, and hopefully he would be wonderful to Prussi as well with Christiane being his first -and hopefully only wife-.

(sorry I forgot its supposed to be Prussia and France xD )

Name: Clarence Beaulieu

Age: 20

Personality: Always looked down upon as the weaker of the the two brothers, Clarence was told he would never be able to be like his older brother and he started to think that way to. He used to be closer to his brother before he became king and was busy with everything that came with being a king. Usually he would be by himself in the garden or in the royal library enjoying himself there. When his brother died he didn't really have any emotion to it and when he heard that he would become the next king didn't really excite him that much. No one would be as good as his brother.

History: The youngest of the two brothers Clarence was always left out of anything that involved him and his brother. He was usually left with his only real friend their nanny Olivia as she was the only one that cared about Clarence. When ever their father ever did have to time see his sons he would talk to his older brother and tell him the amazing things about being a king and all the stuff he would do. His mother didn't spend any time with him as well as she always held extravagant balls or teaching the brother how to be a gentleman.

When they became older and were closer until the day his brother was king and now busy with many things. He had no other friends and became sort of a recluse when it came to being around other people. When there was a party for where he could meet a good girl to share a dance with he would be somewhere else all alone. THe day that his brother died though he hated the fact that he would become the next king and didn't want it even if he was going to be marrying a beautiful girl. Everyone told him that he would never be like his brother and he would just continue to think like that.

(you only HAVE to read whats in bold the erst of it is just fluff writing for me xD )

Christiane was playing chess quietly one day with one of her tutors when she was summoned to her father's study. The war affected her little, she knew of it, and kept herself informed, however until now she hadn't cared much about it with the exception of her slight disdain of France. Upon entering his chambers she was told that her father had finally found her a suitable husband, and that she would be sent to marry him within two months! Christiane was elated, they had put off her marriage for much too long now, her being the last princess of Prussia, all of her sister married to wealthy nobles and cousins, Christiane was the last valuable asset to use by marriage. On top of all that great news her future husband was to be the King of France....both good and bad for her. As badly as she wanted to be useful, she knew that he was most likely as politically savvy as she herself was and that he would make sure she stayed silent...Still she was a service to her father and her country in some way right? And that didn't mean she couldn't try to do good for them.

Christiane thought of all of this as she boarded the carriage with her belongings and her adviser, a man by the name of Altair, he was older, in his mid thirties, and charismatic. She had been told of her engagement and given her orders on how to handle it.

A few short weeks before Christiane was supposed to leave for France however, she was informed that the King of France had passed.... she had been sent a small, painted picture of him and met him once even though they didn't speak during the brief meeting and it had been years ago before they were even engaged..... However he had no heirs and the throne would be left to his still single brother. France informed her father that there would still be a marriage to maintain the treaty.

As she carriage bumped her around for weeks she thought of her new suitor and what he would be like and what this would mean for her. She thought about everything her father said, that since he was a new king he could be easily guided and that would be her job to make sure he was guided into the direction of Prussia's interests....it shouldn't be too hard with her natural good looks and her political prowess - that is if he wasn't very ambitious. Upon entering the borders of France Christiane entered a tent that and was forced to strip down, she was then redressed in entirely french clothing, the most fashionable money could buy, and Christiane did all of this with dignity and grace, because she knew it would happen. If Christiane was to marry the King of France, the people wanted to make sure she held sympathies for their country, thus this was a symbolic and political act, most women held objections, however Christiane couldn't be happier about her engagement and her new status, knowing that everything she did was one step closer to Queen.

Today would be their first meeting as Christiane stepped out of the carriage, followed by Altair, her father's cousin and a representative of Prussia here to ensure that the marriage went off smoothly. She was dressed in an cream dress wit haccents of peach colored roses, her fair hair pulled up into high curls laced with small pearls. Also accompanying her was one of Clarences's closest cousins, Alexander, who was older to him and extremely close to the previous king. Alexander held his arm out for her and she gladly accepted it as he led her to the entrance of the Versailles palace, where Clarence would be waiting to meet her.

She gave a small curtsey and a bow of her head to Clarence as Alexander introduced her,"May I introduce Christiane De'ceon of Prussia soon to be 'Of France'." He looked at Christiane,"and this is His Majesty, King Clarence." She smiled at Alexander,"Long live the King." She said, as was tradition whenever his title was spoken near or after a death. She looked at Clarence, her blue eyes meeting his own with ease as she gave him a gracious smile. "I am sorry for the loss of your brother, you have my condolences. I said many prayers for him." She said solemnly,"But I am very honored to be graced with your presence today, I've thought of nothing but out first meeting for the past few days."

(I just like to get in some background and some personal thoughts and then the actual meeting.)

Clarence was not really interested in marrying this woman but he knew that it would have to be done to keep the peace between their to countries to keep this alliance. If he was to say no there would certainly be a war in no times and he would have no way of defending against the Prussians. They were the strongest power on continental Europe at the time and had the technology and power to overtake France. He hated the foreigners that always visited him for peace negotiations or talk about business but he felt something was different about her.

Clarence had decided to wear a nice black coat made from the best parisian fabrics and with a soft cotton linen under his coat to keep him cool during the hot summer months and warm during the winters. He smiled a little when she said that but wasn't even thinking about his brother until she brought it up but didn't say or reply. "Thank you cousin and it's nice to make your acquaintance Lady Christiane. Now if you would be so kind cousin to leave us be so I can have a more private conversation with this beautiuful lady I will be marrying." Clarance gestured for Alexander and only but his personal guard to leave them be.

"Now if you would be so kind to come with me my lady I have a nice little afternoon meal prepared for us out in the garden and you will absolutely enjoy it." Like the gentleman he was supposed to be he walked slowly next to her and offered his arm to her. Even though he didn't even want to be inches from her he still enjoyed it and walked slowly with her through the halls.

(Sorry im working on my signature for this rp too :3 itll be up soon)

Chrstiane gave him a smile as he said it was nice to make her acquaintance, pleased that he acted like he had manners. She knew it was difficult during a time when there were so many changes going on. Alexander and Altair glanced at each other a little nervously as Clarence asked for privacy. Christiane gave them a reassuring nod though and the two of them agreed to leave the two with his personal guard. Altair looked at Alexander,"Come, I believe we have papers to sign and a few more of the wedding decorations to decide upon. We can check on the two of them later." Alexander nodded with a light smile, it was nice to be planning such a grand wedding after the recent tragedy to take their mind off of it.

Christiane took Clarence's arm and walked slowly beside him, keeping her chin up and her posture refined. "Thank you Your Highness, this was all quite thoughtful of you." She told him as they began on the walk he had planned for them to the garden. She waited a few longs moments before she broke them in lieu of some conversation. "So Alexander told me that you spend quite a lot of time in the library. Do you have any favorite authors or books?" She asked him, letting her blue eyes rest on him, careful not to let on to how closely she was examining him. In these first few moments she would try to read his feelings for her, if he believed she was pretty, if he was intrigued by a woman with a mind, if she would be able to find any opening in his exterior to give her some idea of his thoughts.

"I'm afraid that while I do enjoy to read, I only recently began to read French literature so while its not a forte of mine, I have tried to read some of your classics and some poetry I believed was popular over here. of course I've only had Alexander's letter as a frame of reference." She said trying to ease them into a conversation.

"Yes I do spend a lot of time in the library, I always hated being around those other snobs as well as I wasn't paid much aattetnion to as a child. My brother was the one they spent most their free time with since he was going to be king and they had to make sure he was a propger gentleman and a good ruler. The books provided so many interesting stories and places that I would've loved to travel to but I won;t be able to do that now since my brother's death. It's been a long time since I've even spoke with my brother for a second but I guess I won't be able to do that now but death comes to all of us and unforgettably it came to him early."

Clarence was actually intrigued when he heard the comment that she read some French poets and authors. "I've liked some writings from Voltaire but I'm more interested in literature from the other lands around here and far. I especially love the Italians writings, so much history in that land and many great stories. The thing I love from their land though is the paintings, so many great painters from da vinci and michelangelo. I have many of their paintings that I just like to stare at for hours." Guiding her out to the garden she sat her down before taking a seat next to her and enjoyed the view he had of the area. He kept his eyes on hers and continued to think nothing important.

She stayed quiet in reverence as he spoke about the death of his brother and of his childhood, they were quite serious topics and as he spoke of his brother she thought of the one time she'd met him. she was a younger woman at the age of 16 and while the war was far from over, the violence was and in honor of the treaty talks beginning the King of France had visited her father. She remember being introduced to him along with her last older sister who wasn't yet married, and her eldest brother. She remembered her sister going on and on about how hansom he was and her brother's dignified, stone like exterior as they met - knowing that he would be the next King of Prussia and they would soon be equals. She returned to their conversation now though.

Listening to him she realized that Alexander and her father were right. What with how he was raised and how well he responded to the conversational topic of literature and art it was as if he had never even entertained the idea of being a ruler of any kind. it occurred to her that if his brother was in good health that he would most likely just be a duke who supported artists and writers in his court instead of an aggressive noble who might try to seize more power....

"I'm afraid I haven't seen much of their work besides from when my sisters and I were on Holiday with our mother in Italy. While she tried to expose us to works from many different countries, our father was always more interested in supporting Prussian artists." She paused a moment,"Perhaps you will be able to enjoy a Holiday to some other country now that the war is over." She said trying to be supportive, knowing that it most likely wouldn't happen, most of the time the court would go on Summer around their own country but rarely did they leave for other countries.

"that would be nice but it will never be able to happen for me. I have to get this country back in order after my brothers death. I'll be moving what our costs been going into and switch some things around. Enough of proving who is the strongest country by our military strength and technology, those dam generals keep asking for money so they can just send more young men to their deaths. I'll be moving most the money to support our culture and keeping it alive and even prosper. There is no more good artists and authors left in this land and intelligence and morale will always win over bullets and death."

Clarence got a little mad at the thoughts he was thinking but he calmed down as to not scare her. "I won't be going anywhere for a while, I guess it will be just as good to dream and wish. For now let's just enjoy what we have here even though I can't stand it so much being in this stupid place." Clarence stayed quiet as their food was placed down for them with some expensive foods and wine all imported from different countries through out Europe. " I will be having a small gathering with some nobles tonight and it would be my honor to ask you if you would accompany me to it."

(hello)

(sorry ive been drawing some pictures for another roleplay)

She listened to him, almost completely disagreeing with what he was saying. Sure she loved the arts, but in order to make a country a strong political power, enough to be an ally of Prussia, they would have to funnel more money into their military, raise money for food, troops, ammunition, ships....But she kept her mouth silent. She was far from making any decisions or having any influence. Instead she just nodded as she listened, agreeing with him. "Thats a very progressive view of government." she said and continued to listen attentively as he continued to speak. She could tell he was very passionate about all of that because he seemed to be getting pretty worked up.

She smiled gently and graciously accepted his offer, reaching out and touching his hand, her skin soft on his own,"I would love to and I am honored by the invitation." After that they resumed their meal and some light conversation, the wine and the food were spectacular and that was almost half to the conversation they had the rest of their time together. After they ate they walked the garden for a while, Christiane letting him show her around the massive expanse that was the palace garden. It had walk ways, fountains, thousands of different flowers- it was truly a testament to Versailles France and its truly extravagant nature. While art and literature may have been dwindling in France Versailles was the leader in new styles in fashion and architecture for the nobles. Everyone who was anyone was on the Court in Versailles.

Afterwards they headed back inside, meeting Alexander and Altair who took Christiane to the chambers that would be hers until the wedding night which was only a few days away. Once she had been introduced to her ladies in waiting who would be serving her she rested for a while then got dressed for the gathering Clarance had planned. Later that evening she met with Clarance before he entered the party, tonight she wore a champagne and ivory dress with large ruffles at the elbows of her sleeves and on the back of her dress, a little more fitting for a gathering of nobles than her previous dress. Her hair was still swept up with pearls binding it as it was earlier and she seemed thoroughly refreshed. She bowed her head as she saw him,"I'm glad I was able to rest before this evening, it was just what I needed. and thank you for the flowers in my room, they were lovely." She said, knowing that it was most likely Alexander who had the flowers sent to her room, but still she had that show to put on.

"Oh your very welcome my lady, I picked them personally myself from the garden. Now we will be meeting with some nobles that hate everything I've done so far. They are pushing for me to just let them do whatever they want and raise taxes in their respective lands but I can't stand these guys. Well we have some chatting to do and we will be expecting a visit from my general and I have some things I will be speaking to him about that he won't like hearing." Walking with her in his arm he went to go speak with a few nobles starting off with the biggest and most prominent family, The Lorenzo's.

"Good evening sir and i would like to introduce my future wife and new Queen on France Princess Christiane of Prussia. It is a big honor and deal between France and Prussia to help solidify an alliance between us two powers even though I don't agree with her brothers ideas of how we will strengthen each other. I wanted to go for a balance of money and power where we provide the money, supplies, and other necessary things they need to fight. We would even supply troops but not much. " Clarence went over the ideas with his closest advisors while she was sleeping and he thought they were a pretty good idea.

(sorry if my posts are to short for you)

Christiane gave a feint smirk to how he addressed the nobles however just nodded along as she took his arm and walked in. Normally someone might be nervous about meeting so many new, important people in a strange country with a strange man - however Christiane had no fears here, this was exactly where she would flourish. However, that was the plan....

She smiled as he introduced her to the Lorenzos,"Its a pleasure to meet you." She said, then he threw in the part about not agreeing with her brother's ideas of how they will strengthen each other. She glanced away, trying to hide the slightest twinge of embarrassment and/or annoyance. It was such a blunt statement! She glanced back and smiled broadly, listening to them as they talked. "Clarence has many very progressive views and ideas he seems to have been developing." She said in a supportive tone,"He makes me proud to call him my future husband." She said and gave his arm a gentle stroke. "Although I'm sure its much too early on to see all of the great changes that will be brought about by our union. Lord knows that Prussia will certainly do its part to strengthen your great country." She said, adding in a bit of flattery here and there.

(sorry i gotta go this was a bit rushed. brb in about an hour)

As Clarence and the rest of the nobles were talking a man in his late 30's and had his coat emblazoned with many medals and awards upon his chest was the commanding general of all the forces in the country and he had showed up at the king's request. Taking a drink from one of the servants he headed over to Clarence and didn't even bow at him. Clarence just smiled and gave him a hug before laughing a little, "Lady Christiane, this is my uncle Babineaux and he was one of the only people that I ever spoke to during my childhood." Babineaux bowed slowly for the Christiane before kissing her hand gently.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance my Queen, sorry if I came unannounced but the King has wished to have a meeting with me. It's good to see that our two kingdoms could come to make a peace even after this deadly war. It was a pleasure to fight against your brother's army, it was the best fight I've ever had." Clarence guided the three of them to a small room off the main party room that was Clarence's second home and his main office while at court. Sitting down in a small couch with Christiane and Babineaux across from him in a chair, "I'm going to be sorry to say this Uncle but I will be cutting the amount of money that is sent to the army bu at least 75% and most of your generals will be fired."

(Well its the same for me. I really want to see where it goes as well.)

Christiane smiled at his uncle,"Not at all, the pleasure is all mine." She greeted him,"i'm so glad to meet someone who is so close to His Majesty Clarence." She said and stroked Clarence's arm. Christiane followed them to the small room and listened quietly as they spoke, however soon her eyes widened as she heard his last sentence. She watched as she saw his Uncle's face go through several emotions, disappointment, anger....he let out a deep sigh and thats when Christiane interjected,"but that was before this evenings discussions." She said,"I believe that our representative Altair had some ideas that he hadn't quite discussed with his Majesty's council yet. Unfortunately he has been extremely busy helping Alexander plan out wedding. What with it being the day after tomorrow they have much to finish planning. I'm sure after that we will have much different answers for you." She said with a warm smile. She stood up and took his uncle by the arm taking him out to the party once again,"Come, lets get something to drink, your glass is looking rather low."

She glanced back at Clarence, raising an eyebrow at him as if to ask him why he would discuss that here and that she was on damage control. She took his uncle back out to the party and got a glass of champagne for herself and for him, beginning to discuss the wedding plans so far for the whole day. She had been helping as much as she could from far away and she had been able to start on her wedding gown, pick out colors and tours, music, and tomorrow she was supposed to pick out the food. "It will be very exciting." she said and motioned for Clarence to come join them, however not giving him much of a chance to talk as she spoke about the wedding, mostly trying to keep him from passing out bad news while she was here, she'd discuss her actions with him later.

(sorry I had a hard time with that post so it took me like forever xD )

Clarence was firm with his answer and he would be sticking with that choice, he hadn't been very busy with the wedding at all. If it was up to him he would've married her in that office right now but his assistants wouldn't allow that because of traditions. Just standing there listening to her talk about the boring wedding ideas and not even having a chance to speak. He listened intently until it got late and the party was about to end, "I would like you all for attending but I must get some sleep now as me and the Princess have a long day to go through tomorrow setting this up. We hope you'll be able to make it to the wedding and good night."

Clarence took Christiane's arm and walked him back to her chambers before coming in and shutting the door behind him. "I don't know what you're planning but we are going to go with I'm planning, I'm not going to see this country become like what it was under my brother. Mothers crying over their sons fighting to protect the crown and all that damn crap." His voice started to pick up in tone a little as he's never gotten into a real arguement before.

Using the wedding and traditions in her country, keeping the conversation light and easy and fun she seemed to earn a lot of points from everyone she spoke with. She gave off a wonderful first impression, coming off as charming and charismatic, seeming to gain everyone's affection with ease. She bid everyone good night with Clarence and followed him to her chambers. She walked farther into her room, allowing him to stay at the door, listening to him - not seemingly concerned with what he was saying until he finished. She turned around sharply, her skirt twirling and sweeping the floor, her blue eyes hitting his own, her expression one of concern.

Christiane looked down and swallowed hard, walking over to him and stroking his arm,"I'm sorry I didn't try to upset you." She said and looked up at him, letting her deep blue eyes strike his own. "Its just that I'm new in this country, and after our wedding I will have to be around and work with these people the rest of my life." She said, letting her body move close to his own,"I'm just thinking that maybe giving them all the bad news of all of your drastic changes to this country isn't the best time when you're introducing me to them. I don't want them to forever associate me with bad news." She said, finally pressing her body to his own, letting her face move closer to his, and wrapping her arms around his shoulders, ensuring that she stayed close to him. Her skin on his own was soft and warm and as she neared him he would be able to smell her scent of lillies.

"Couldn't you just wait to give them the news until after we've been married a few days? the war is over, no one else is dying, and we need to focus on our wedding and...our wedding night. These should be the happiest days of our lives, I don't want to spoil them with all of these bad news even though they might be good ideas." She said, her tone soft and pleading for him to understand.

Clarence felt bad when he realized that he just yelled at her and saw her face of concern. When she came over and held him close he was having different felling of this girl that stood in front of him and he could smell the sweet scent of lillies on her skin. It was his favorite smell of all time and he was put into a trance and just smilied deep into her eyes. His hands moved to her lower back keeping her closer to him as he enjoyed the beautiful scent of her and her deep blue eyes.

"I'm sorry honey that I yelled at you, you're right we have to enjoy these days and make the best of them. We are getting married after all and it is the happiest moment of anybodies life. I've never met anybody that was as fascinating as you and it is pretty interesting." He did something that he never thought he would be doing that evening and he locked his lips with hers without even thinking about it. It all felt foreign to him and he didn't want to stop.
