Around Logan's coffeetable [Inactive]

King of the 'EMO'guys
Manoneno1 submitted a new role play:

Around Logan's coffeetable - Interested to share your character's history with mine? Come in.

So, I came in thought that we could knit up our character's past by them talking about it along coffee table, enjoying their teas and stuff. The roleplay would contain flashbacks to these scenes which makes everything pretty free to roleplay!
Slash, romance, drama... I'm free with everything! You just have to give me a brief look what's identical in their pasts and were ready to rp! Here's a few things I would be interested at rp'ing in Logan's past:

  • Abusing father and him
  • Him in...

Logan lied few cups on his table, having no idea how many people will show up. He indeed had much of friends, but he didn't know how many were still alive, as he already was 79. Logan smiled a bit himselfs: it probably seemed like a old people's town gathering for the young ones. He never thought he would do such a thing when he was young. He started to wonder with a pout would his early adulthood friends gather up too. No, he thought. Not if they haven't stopped that life.

Whistling, he added a big bottle off his self-made tea of mint and others herbs. He knew this perky tea would keep them awake.

(We can start when there's enough people around or then other's will come with a sliding schedule)

Karou sprinted out of the rain and took shelter under one of the many trees that adorned the side of the street, with a heavy sigh she pulled her umbrella out, regained her breath, and continued walking in search for Logan's house. Karou was never good at directions, she was professional in getting lost. Karou dug through her pocket and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper with Logan's address on it, the paper was ruined from the rain and it was hard to make out the house number through the heavily smudged ink. Number 567? 581? It was no good. Karou had no method of finding Logan's house and was tempted to go back to the train station in defeat. It'd be a lie to say she wasn't reluctant to meet Logan anyway.

People change, She thought bitterly. Logan probably wouldn't even remember the childhood memories they shared together many years ago.

Karou turned on her heel ready to leave in the direction she came from, but that's when she say it. It was obvious with its unique decor that this was Logan's house, it was different from all the other house in the street. Logan was always different.

With a deep breath Karou made her way across the street and towards the front door.

Just when he was sorting the cookies to the plate, he saw a black creature coming towatds his door. Logan frowned. Could it be? He couldn't forget his exotic blue hair. Swiftly, he rushed to the door and opened it up just as she was knocking to door. "Karou! Oh, long time no see!", he beamed with a wide warm smile, not suitable in his all-black wear, expect his velvet violet back of vest and nails. He took her from his arms and kissed his cheeks like he does for his closest friends. "You look gorgeous! Come in, come in."

"Thanks." She mumbled and smiled nervously.

"I'm sorry I'm late." She began half distracted by Logan's other-worldly furniture that filled his house. "I got lost on the way... Do you know how many other people are coming?" Karou's nervousness at the thought of other people filling the room was evident by her slightly shaking hands. She wasn't a people person to say it simply and found refuge in being on her own. She was a lonely figure and the coldness she radiated often made others hesitant to talk to her. Karou averted her eyes from the furniture to look at Logan, his grin felt out of place compared to his all-black ensemble. She hesitated and pulled a small bottle of black nail varnish out of her bag, "I-I... I saw this and remembered how much you liked to paint your nails so I thought I'd buy it as a gift to thank you for inviting me." She said quickly as her face reddened. "It's really stupid... You don't have to take it. I-It's fine."

"Oh, it's alright!", he said with a wave of hand. "You"re first one so basically you"re esrly", he said softly. He forgot how shy she was. "Oh!", he gasped surprised, smiling widely. "That's just lovely! Thank you very much!", he said and took the present. "It's not silly, Karou. Just the nice thing to do. You're too unsure about yourself, my dear", he said softly with a smile. "Sit sit, I was just sorting the cookies", he said as he waved where she was suppoused to, walking to the kitchen. "So, what has happened in your life? We haven't speak in ten years, there must been happened a lot! And no, I don't have a faintest idea!"

Karou sit where she was directed to and glanced around at the pictures on the wall. Were these relatives of his? Friends? She wasn't sure but didn't have the courage to ask. "My life? It's been... Complicated. I-" She paused, she didn't want to burden him with her silly problems. It was then when she noticed a picture of him and her on the wall amongst the many other photos. She must have been around eight years old in that picture, her hair wasn't blue then, just it's natural black. She felt a tiny smile creep up on her lips as she admired how happy they appeared. Logan wore black even then however this was in the days before he discovered black nail varnish. "I've been travelling a lot, I just got back from St Petersburg actually." She closed her eyes and ran her fingers over the scar that covered her right shoulder blade, she often wondered if people found it off putting. She winced quietly at the thought of her she accumulated it. "I'm surprised I even managed to get back into contact with you again, I've been living thousands of miles away from you for so long.."

Logan came to sit, crossing his legs and poured some tea to his cup. "Oh I wish I could travel.. I could, actually. Now how my sweet daughter Lydia moved away and wife Lisa.. Well", he said with a faint smile, flattering his lids a bit down and tilted his head a bit awry. Then he watched his wall also. "My friends. I don't keep im contact with relatives", he answered even she didn't ask. "Tea? I have grew all the herbs by myself. Really organic."

Karou looks at Logan, surprised by how he answered her unsaid question. Am I readable? She straightened her face. She nodded quietly to his offer of tea, "I see you're still interested in organic ingredients." Karou sighed at her previous comment, she probably came across as boring. A waste of space. A wart on the nose of life's complexion. "Do you keep in contact with your daughter? My sister recently had a baby actually.." Karou looked back at Logan, he looked tired. Weary. There was always something about him that she couldn't put her finger on. He was a walking mystery, you wanted to know more about him to figure him out. Karou didn't even know how old he was.

"Oh, gongratulations to a fresh auntie and mother!", he said genuinely smiling, pouring tea for her. "So, we share pretty much things.. Complicated life, scar", he listed. "I salute you, you don't seem to shame it", he admired with a small nudge of head. Then he leaned back at his chair and took a sip from his tea. "So.. No mister right yet? I'm sure you have choices. Your cold look...", he muttered puzzlingly, stirring his tea with a silver spoon. "There's something really attractive in it", he finished his sentenced, looking Karou in her eyes. "Original and straight, I say.", he added. "Oh yes, I do. She's so kind and easy daughter."

Karou's hand flew to her scar, she could feel the blood draining from her face. Her usual wardrobe choice meant that her scar wasn't usually covered, and it didn't bother her. But right now she felt herself craving for a cardigan or sweater to cover her shoulders, she cleared her throat uncomfortably and brought the tea cup to her lips. "I-I'm not in a rush to find anyone, I prefer my own company I guess. No one likes a broken toy." She shrugged and glanced up at the clock.

Logan hemmed dryly, offering his hands to her and bending towards her. "Karou. I'm the Doctor of Psychology, a trash bin of psychical problems. Bad self-coinfidence? That's me. Personal disorders? I'm yours. Eating disorders? Been there, done that", he explaine with a wave of hand. "So, if you have anything you want to speak about, please do so. I want to make you comfortable with me since it's been so long time since we had quality time."

Karou's eyes darkened at the mention of the word doctor. "What makes you think I need help?" She snapped and glared at him. "I don't have any problems" She hissed. It took her a moment to calm down and regain her composure but when she did she instantly regretted her outburst. "Sorry... " She sighed "I didn't mean to snap at you... I just don't like talking about these types of things." She avoided eye contact with him and stared out the window. It was raining heavily now and the sound of the pounding raindrops made her feel uneased.

Logan raised his brows a bit. "I think you misunderstood. I got a P.h.D", he said with a warm smile. "I teached in a university", he added. "I would've been a bit offended too if I were you, no need for being embarassed!", he said with a small laughter. "Sure. Then, let's have some nice private time together", he said warmly as he took a sip again. Then he glanced out from the window. "What a lovely weather", he said genuinely, smiling then again. "Typical small talk opening, huh."

Karou raised an eyebrow and bit down on her lip gently to prevent herself from laughing. "What a lovely place you have here... From what I've seen that's also a typical small talk phrase." She was hesitant to joke around with him, but she wanted to trust him. If she trusted him ten years ago then surely she should trust him now, right? "So why do you teach these stuff?"

Logan bursted out laughing, leaning backwards. After he controlled over his laugh, eh started to explain. "Well, when I as on my rehab and trying to get over my anorexia, my incoming wife suggested me to get some education. I get into Psychology and... Yeah", eh said with a pout, shrugging. "At least I have a good retirement pay now."

Karou paused. "Why is he laughing?" She thought. She sank back in her seat slighting as feelings of insecurity flooded her. She felt uncomfortable talking about eating disorders and fiddled with her fingers distractedly. "What's it like?" She spoke up. "Rehab, I mean."

"Hard. Really hard", he said with a deep, serious voice. "Fortunately Lisa was a junkie also, she understood me and got me over it", he explained with a pout. "I struggled with it over three months until I managed to live again. It's not worth it", he said with a few headshakes. "Totally now worth it."

"The last time I tried to seek 'help' for my so called 'problems' they put me on pills." Karou said bitterly. " I'd hate to be condemned to a place like that." She paused and looked back up at him. "But it's good you've recovered. Lisa sounds like a really nice person... Where is she right now?"

"Dead", he said with a monotonic voice. "It's okay, you didn't know. It's differebt nowadays. They know a lot more about people", he explaned with a small smile. "I just recently stopped smoking so I've gained weight, I should avoid sweets", he said with pout. "This outlook makes me look probably a bit more dignity I guess.."

"Oh..." Karou felt guilty for asking her previous question, the sad look in his eyes was obvious. "I'm really sorry..." Karou didn't know what to say to make the situation any better. She quietly put her cup down onto the coffee table. "Your figure is really good, you shouldn't worry about it."

Logan smiled widely, taking cookie, raising his smalles and next to it's finger a bit and drew a line on the air. "As I said, it's okay. That's what I get from marrying a human", he soothed with a smile. "Well okay, I won't take a risk", he said softly as he took a bite "It was a long time ago, I was ready for it", he explained.

Karou paused, did he just say 'marrying a human'? Surely he was human too, but the way he said it, the tone in his voice, led Karou to believe he was something other than human. Karou noticed the point of his ears creeping out of his raven hair, was his ears always like that? She found herself staring at him and when she realised this her face reddened considerably. She broke a piece of her cookie off and took a tiny bite before placing the rest back onto the plate, she didn't have an appetite. Not anymore anyway. "... Why did you disappear ten years ago? Did you cut off all ties with me on purpose?" She looked at him, her once cold brown eyes took on the resemblance of that of a curious child.
