(Real name): John Fitzgerald Meyers
Rank: Agent/Operative
Affiliation:
ACPD [Former]
Task Force Taurus [Current]
Age: 42
Appearance:
Standing before you is a gruff, grizzled man dressed in a form-fitting armored bodysuit with an eyepatch over his left eye and a prominent metallic horn jutting out of his forehead. He has his hair pulled back into a ponytail. Covering the suit appears to be a gray shmagh-like cover that wraps around his upper torso when not engaged in combat. Perhaps the most noteworthy feature is an entirely bionic crimson left arm. He speaks with a low-gravelly tone of voice with a notable lisp.
Backstory:
Born to a middle-class family on June 8th, 20XX, John grew up in the bustling higher-class district housing of Argon CIty. Being the first born of his two brothers and two sisters, John always sought to take care and look after them when he became of age. When he was eighteen, his parents left one night to head to the lower-city districts- only to never return. Just five months shy of graduating High School, John's grief was only shared among his siblings as they never revealed to anyone what had occurred. After obtaining his High School diploma, John's repressed anger finally boiled over into a laser-focused dedication to find and bring those responsible to any measurement of justice he could. His siblings, understanding of his chosen path, began to look after themselves and each other as he soon swore allegiance into the Argon City Police Department. Twenty years later and with significant experience gained to his name from transferring over into the ACPD-GU, John privately worked on obtaining any intelligence he could in narrowing his targets down who were responsible for his parent's disappearance. It was here that, ultimately, things took a turn for the worse.
The mission in question was to cooperate alongside the local SWAT in assisting the defusal of a bomb located within one of the city's sprawling banking centers that had been overtaken by a nefarious extremist crime syndicate known by "The Crimson Legion." With all possible entryways and exits covered, John and his team stacked up at the front of the building behind his squad leader. At the exact moment the team moved up the stairs and breached the front door, the bomb located within the center of the lobby detonated; sending John back in a painful blast of heat as his SL was killed instantly from the shrapnel, and knocking John unconscious and barely alive. Life-flighting him to the nearest medical center, it was discovered that John's body was embedded with thousands of foreign bodies, including bits of bone, human teeth and metal fragmentation. His head recieved the worst of damage, with a large metal fragment jutting out of the right side of his head. Doctors, weary of taking it out, were only able to construct a carbide-titianum horn around the embedded foreign body. His left arm was shattered beyond reduction slightly below the bend of his elbow, and had to be summarily amputated, as well as his left eye suffering blast related ocular trauma, requiring a patch. The department personally paid for a bionic limb (courtesy of MIDAS), and found his private work while he was in recovery. Impressed with the dedication to his job, they recommended him for a transfer into Task Force Taurus when he recovered and was discharged from the hospital.
Six weeks later, John awoke from a medically-induced coma and discovered what fate had befallen him. Alongside therapy for his new bionic limb, John was made very clear by multiple attending neurologists and doctors that, due to the shrapnel embedded in his head even with the horn protecting it, extreme stress in combat situations or any trauma to that area could result in a variety of complications, including tinnitus, hallucinations, convulsions or loss of consciousness. Understanding his newfound strengths and limitations, John spent the next five months in therapy before being discharged by the hospital and inducted into the Taurus Task Force. For the next ten years within his service to the TTF, John perfected himself in almost every skill they taught him. With rising tensions between U-ICE, the ACPD and the gangs roaming the streets, it became clear that it was soon his physical and mental abilities would be tested.
Personality: John is stoical, soft spoken and well-mannered when not directly engaged in a task; opting to familiarize himself with the inhabitants and information that the lower-echelons of Argon has to offer. John is fiercely loyal and overprotective of those he has bonded to, civilians, and anyone under threat. Despite his silent nature, John makes a well-rounded teammate to those who require his aid. Lastly, it is not uncommon for him to engage in banter, leisure activities or conversation with those he knows. However, he can snap at or become irate when pressed about his parent's disappearance or the accident; suggesting that John does not tolerate loss or failure very well, as well as holding himself accountable for things out of his control.
Goals: Alongside helping his fellow Task Force members and individuals within the ACPD, John's personal motive lies in finding any clues to his parent's disappearance and possible fate- not willing to rest his case until he uncovers the truth.
