The Shadow Huntress
Thessia Lara Tyrren
★★★★★★
Female / Exhelian-Demonoid Hybrid / 40 (January 25, 669)
”Ashen Embers” Special Task Force | Elite Operative - Codename "Remiel"
Nobility / Shadowmancy / 175.26 cm / 63.5029 kg
Overview
Thessia is a woman of noble pedigree who serves as the right hand of the Collbrande of Anterås, Luria Cineris. She is also an elite operator of the "Ashen Embers" Special Task Force, a paramilitary formation under the direct command of House Cineris composed of its best agents. She is one of the best in the business of spies and assassins, serving as the eyes, ears, shield, and dagger of her liege.
Background
Thessia’s childhood was mostly indifferent from any average noble of a minor Noble House, the young girl being taught various subjects in the academe that she simply had little to no actual interest in, but still retained some useful information from her lessons nonetheless which would come to aid her later on in life from time to time, but not as often as one would think for an Elite Operative. She mostly failed in her lessons, only showing barely more than satisfactory performance but demonstrated exemplary performance in two things: martial prowess, House Tyrren’s niche, and espionage with the young Thessia having a good understanding on the latter that could be improved. A stark contrast compared to her older and younger brothers that excelled in the academe and statecraft, but barely passed in anything martial to their embarrassment. That gap has long since been bridged but they would still be behind their only sister in terms of martial skill.

Her failures in most of her lessons has led to her family to decide her fate. With her consent, she was immediately sent to the Imperial Army upon hitting 18 where she would immediately become an officer in the upper echelons of the officer corps of the Anteråsan Imperial Garrison due to her entry grades and noble background. She was assigned to work in the Anteråsan Internal Security Service, or the AISS, upon receiving her background test results and went on to serve there dutifully for 7 years, even resigning from the Imperial Army 4 years into her stint in the AISS, doing jobs on the desk, in the field, and sometimes even odd jobs, that honed her talents and skills beyond expectations that changed her into the person that she is now: a cold, calculated, and strict professional operative for the service.

Her hard work eventually paid off in the form of a senior official in the service putting in a good word for her to House Cineris and recommending that she be inducted into the prized household guard and paramilitary force of the House, the “Ashen Embers” Special Task Force. The recommendation was carefully considered for a time by Lucius Cineris, the then Collbrande of Anterås, and his chief advisers and retainers before finally accepting it and inviting the young Thessia to serve under them. It was an opportunity that she could not miss nor was it one she would ever get again. Determined, she accepted the invitation and immediately started her work as an operative of the Ashen Embers. She showed similar commitment to her new post as if it was her old one back in the service. She learned, adapted, excelled, and outperformed, quickly becoming one the Ashen Embers’ best operatives in a relatively eventful career full of operations big and small that would span 15 years, continuing into the present after the ascension rule of the current Collbrande of Anterås, Luria Cineris.

Having been recommended by the current Collbrande’s father and even catching her attention, Thessia was given a post of significance as the Collbrande’s right-hand man, her most trusted operative that serves as her eyes, ears, nose, and dagger. A new bond had formed easily between the two women that gave way to a productive professional and casual relationship that would likely be of much use later on. Under the advice of some colleagues and even both her past and present lieges, Thessia has since kept a small portion of her professionalism away due to the nature of her duties and the demands of being a spy for House Cineris. If she was to be at her best, she needed to be able to understand and connect with people. Being only 40 years old, she has a long way to go and much to learn. At a time such as this one, being set in stone is not the best idea.
Combat Arsenal
Exousiarch Phase 3 │ Umbral Kindred - Thessia can summon a variety of umbral familiars that can be used for a number of roles. These include but are not limited to animalistic forms that not only deal penetrating physical damage, but can also directly damage the incarce circuits of their prey provided they penetrate its physical and magical defenses. The familiars have a timed life inversely proportional to their size, the smaller ones boasting a longer duration while the opposite is true for larger ones.

Shadowmancy Proficiency - Thessia has spent most of her life honing her skills in the arcane, particularly her natural affinity towards Shadowmancy. Coupled with the second phase of her Exousiarch, her repertoire of skills is formidable in its own right such as the capability to generate shadowy mists to cover maneuvers, render herself invisible and silent, or even completely melding with the shadows around her among others.

Martial Training - Having been trained from youth up to adulthood and her mettle put to the test many a time, Thessia possesses a high degree of martial prowess in single or squad combat, hand-to-hand or ranged, close quarters or otherwise, that rivals the likes of those in special forces. She also shows a good degree of skill in leadership and organization, key elements not only in combat, but also for her line of work outside of it that frequently involves working with others and understanding the bigger picture.

Equipment - Thessia’s access to equipment extends well beyond the standard and non-standard weapons and armor that the Imperial Army has access to, be it its conventional armed services or otherwise such as special forces or black operations. This is thanks to her ties to House Cineris that grant her several privileges that would be the envy of many an elite or enthusiast.

Thunderous Knight
Karana Greyhardt
★★★★★★
Female / Exhelian-Avarian / 200+
Imperial Security Directorate | Special Field Agent
Nobility / Electromancy / 162 cm / 52 kg
Overview
A genius with idiosyncrasies unique only to her, this special field agent boasts strength and ego that often makes it difficult for her partners to endure her presence. She was a former Kaiser Knight that had ranked second behind Claudwin, until her official departure from the group after the War on Raignork. Karana is a mid-rank archmage in the Arkonyx Foundation.
Background
Data records of Karana Greyhardt's early childhood life is limited as she had forfeited her heiress title after graduating basic academy. Shortly after her official announcement to leave the competition of heir amongst her siblings, Karana left Aucteraden and traveled north to Elesrith, to enroll and graduate in the Arkonyx Magia Academy to study the Hexennacht system. Upon reaching adulthood and having granted the title as an official mage, the Second Great War occured, barring her from continuing her studies for a significant amount of time.

Karana lost several of her siblings during the conflict, while she remained as a refugee in Eisendrachen due to her status as a commoner, having never trained in the military despite her nobility status. To compensate, Karana gained medical skills during her time as a temporary attendant, nursing the wounded soldiers underneath the snowy mountains of Eisendrachen, wishing she could fight to avenge her siblings. Unfortunately, as the climate of the war was strictly preventing young nobility from fighting after losing a devastating amount of Exousiarch users, Karana was eventually transported to a safer location in Novarion, where she lived the rest of the war as an amateur nurse.

In the midst of the losing war and shortly before the rising of the hero William Ophelia, Karana was ordered to return to Aucteraden by her father, planning to inherit his family name to his daughter who expressed no interest. But because of the dire situation, Karana had no choice but to accept and become his successor. Along with her father and various other families that had joined to support House Kaiser after the fall of House Zervictus, she supported the usurpation of Xanthos Kaiser as the Collbrande of Aucteraden and officially became a soldier of the Kaiser army. To her excitement, Karana fought the rest of the war alongside the Kaiser military, and later became a Kaiser Knight along with Claudwin, and later retired after the War on Raignork to become a special investigator for the Imperial Security Directorate in the city of Somnum, Aucteraden.

Throughout her journey, she forfeited her title as the head of the Greyhardts and passed the leadership position to her older brother, as he was the only surviving member in her bloodline that was able to inherit it. She has since left her household and decided to become independent. Karana became a mid-rank archmage somewhere around 650 EC and served in the military for a short period of time.
Combat Arsenal
Exousiarch | Second Phase: Karana spent the majority of her life honing her magic instead of learning to utilize her Exousiarch. Thus, she has limited control over her innate powers. She has no plans to upgrade her abilties.

Electromancy (Adeptus): Karana's level of control over her Electromancy is nothing short of impressive. Having abandoned her Exousiarch's potential, she spent the majority of her early life studying and training to perfect her control of affinity. She is capable of calling down thunderous spells and destroying armored vehicles with her current abilities. To rank her in the Arkonyx Foundation's leaderboard, Karana is ranked 13th under the category of Electromancy, earning her the mid-rank status.

Physical Enchantment (Master): Naturally as an archmage, she is proficient with enchantment magic.

The Mage Knight
Syriel Janus
★★★★★
Female / Exhelian / 35 (April 4, 674)
Kriegsheld Cadre | 2nd Arclight
Imperial Security Directorate – Aucteraden Division | Liaison, Consultant, and Tactical Support
Commoner / Enchantment / 175.26 cm / 65.7709 kg
Overview
Syriel is a former special operations soldier under House Kaiser who is one of the secretaries of the current Collbrande of Aucteraden, Draigh Kaiser, and is the first of the current generation of the Kriegsheld Cadre. Her position also gives her duties within the Imperial Security Directorate, or ISD, as cooperation with them is required by Imperial Law, serving as one of few liaisons between House Kaiser and the ISD, occasionally providing consultancy and tactical support to ISD personnel within the Directorate’s operations in Aucteraden. Professions aside, she has personal histories with her liege and some of the other Kriegshelden.
Background
Syriel was born as an only child with the gift a good magical affinity to a commoner family in the hinterlands of Aucteraden that had a basic military background. Her father was an avid hunter and once an Imperial Army soldier that served as an infantry marksman who continues hunting to this day after coming back home. Her mother was the simple average housewife. The little Syriel stated that she wanted to be like her father back in the day - a soldier. Of course her mother rejected at first, fearing for her safety before eventually relenting after much convincing, while her father received her intentions positively, seeing it as an opportunity to help her grow into a better woman while his family could contribute more to Empyria as it had generations past.

When she came of age to serve in the Imperial Army, the military was preparing for the Invasion of Raignork and was looking for manpower for such a massive undertaking. Seeing the opportunity to finally put all the years of training and practice she had with her father’s help into use, she decided to seize the initiative and sign up as a soldier who would serve under the banner of House Kaiser. During her military training course and subsequent years in a conventional unit, it was found that she was eligible for special forces, once again seizing the opportunity to train under them, honing her skills and aptitude which were formidably put to the test on the Rythen homeworld of Raignork. She was only 22 at the time when she was deployed on her first tour following the Empyrian declaration of war on the Rythen Empire, seeing what war was really like and a grueling reality about the Imperial Army that she was so eager to serve in later on during the invasion.

During the war, the special forces battalion that Syriel was part of was tasked with paving the way for Imperial Army formations that have made landfall on Raignork after preliminary trailblazing efforts. They were given special assignments aimed at destroying or sabotaging Rythen defenses that posed a threat to the boots on the ground and the rest that were coming in from the planet’s orbit. It was no easy task as the Rythens had the upper hand at this stage of the war, easily racking kill after kill that eventually wiped out entire formations as the Imperial Army tried its utmost to gain footholds on the planet. The Empyrians were fighting very hard for little gains, Syriel’s battalion was no exception as they lost platoon after platoon just to take out a single defensive emplacement at worst. She and her platoon heard the reports from the rear to their utter anxiety and horror until it was finally their turn to become meat for the grinder like the greenhorns they were.

It was here where they would get their actual baptism of fire and for the first time of their lives, see the horrors of war. It is one of the most memorable experiences of the young Syriel, traumatized as she found herself substantially wounded while being given a front-row seat to the demise of some of her friends and squadmates who died fighting to complete their objectives. However, their sacrifices were not in vain as what was left of her platoon and their allies had succeeded in their mission and allowed a large contingent of House Kaiser troops to advance, even if only a few kilometers. Albeit it was a hollow victory as almost all the troops involved were killed in action. Syriel was one of the lucky and unlucky ones, lucky to be alive and unlucky to be alive to remember all of it. She would get more bad memories later into the war, having been a witness to the Imperial Army’s atrocities committed against Rythen prisoners of war and evacuees in the invasion’s latter half.

In spite of all this, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Little did Syriel know that her life would change when she got the opportunity to serve in a platoon with Draigh Kaiser, then a Collbrande aspirant, during the invasion’s later stages in recognition of her earlier achievements. She fought alongside him and his other companions all the way, even during the victorious and decisive battle against one of the Rythen commanders, Reinkurey Eldridge, Remnant of Ouranos. Triumphant but wounded, their efforts had contributed to winning the Empyrians the war and Syriel returned home proud and grateful, but also disillusioned of Empyria despite her time in the war ending on a good note. She lived a normal life for 2 years aware that her service, camaraderie, and achievements have left an impression on Draigh, now the Kaiser Collbrande, the latter offering her a place among House Kaiser’s highly-esteemed Kriegsheld Cadre as the first of a new generation of Kriegshelden, a post she accepted and held for 4 years and counting.

Since then, Syriel has always maintained good or nominal relations with her fellow Kriegshelden and liege, especially the latter as the two of them once had a lengthy relationship that went beyond the bounds of the battlefield and the office that started during the invasion. The relationship has since been peaceably called off with the two still remaining as close friends and coworkers with absolutely no sign of a superior-subordinate dynamic. Relationships aside, she always was and still is quite the hard worker, always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty despite her shaken beliefs.
Combat Arsenal
Enchantment Magic Proficiency – Syriel’s affinity for enchantment magic enables her to enchant her weapons and armor with various enhancements that improve their performance and capabilities. An example is enchanting her armor to better defend against attacks of an arcane origin or even completely block an offensive spell, nullifying its damage. Other enchantments include equipment refinement such as firearms with more stopping power than they should or even being able to entirely retrofit them with magic alone. The latter takes time and effort but applies a permanent perk to the weapon.

Other than objects, she can also cast enchantments on people to grant them enhancements on the field such as increased speed, strength, wound regeneration, or even resistances against offensive or debilitative spells like she does with her armor and to an extent, herself.

Combat Expertise - Syriel is skilled at using weapons of all kinds, be it melee or ranged weapons, as a result of her strenuous training and frequent use of such weapons. Knives, rifles, swords, pistols, daggers, and many more. She also possesses considerable martial prowess, having knowledge and skills across multiple martial arts much so to the point that she has integrated several of these to form her own martial fighting style that far outperforms the conventional hand-to-hand combat that special forces operators commonly practice. A jack of all trades but a master of none.

Enchanted Arsenal - An effort that took her years to accomplish, all of Syriel’s weapons and armor are enchanted to make them much more capable of dishing out a substantial amount of additional lethality or utility that increases her range of tactical usefulness on the battlefield. Examples of enchanted weaponry are her sniper rifles being able to go through light vehicle armor, large and heavy walkers, or even the thick concrete walls of buildings. Examples of enchanted armor are those aimed at providing a degree of magic immunity or protection.

The Doorman
Edward Clerk Maxwell
★★★★★
Male / Exhelian / 55 (May 9, 654)
1st Company of the Cinereous Citadel Guard Regiment – 54th Anteråsan Special Forces Division “Cinder” – Anteråsan Imperial Garrison | Captain
Commoner / Photomancy / 182.88 cm / 72.5748 kg
Overview
Edward is a captain in the Cinereous Citadel Guard Regiment, fully dedicated household guards under the direct command of House Cineris composed of elite special forces operators taken from the Anteråsan Imperial Garrison for their exemplary service to the House in times of peace or in times of war. He serves as a security detail officer in the Citadel’s main keep where he acts as a security coordinator and lobby receptionist where his second name “Clerk” is affectionately used by other guards and members of House Cineris.

Edward is in the prized formation for the former for his achievements in the fight against crime as part of a joint special mission group of the Anteråsan Imperial Garrison Gendarmerie and Imperial Security Directorate. He is also an Invasion of Raignork veteran, having been part of an Imperial Army unit under House Cineris that served as part of the then Cineris Collbrande’s security and surgical strike detail with several operations under his belt. He is a tenured soldier and policeman in his own right.
Background
Edward was the first out of five children, all brothers who would later share a close bond, of a father who was an active superintendent in the Anteråsan Imperial Garrison Gendarmerie and a mother who was an inspector in the same organization. Both had resigned from their duties after Edward was born to care for him. Suffice it to say that military qualities and the will to fight against crime ran in the family as the Maxwells had a history of producing good eggs for the provincial gendarmerie but never held very high ranks.

Edward was the most keen out of all his brothers to continue the family tradition to the contentment and acceptance of his parents. After finishing his secondary education at his coming of age, he signed up and was assigned to the Anteråsan Imperial Garrison Gendarmerie after background and eligibility checks. He was later joined by two of his brothers in the gendarmerie while the remaining two were assigned to port maintenance and port security for the Imperial Army naval bases in Anterås of their own choice, not wanting to saturate the gendarmerie with Maxwells and to give their family a diverse skill base. Edward soon transferred to become part of the tactical units, receiving further training before being assigned to a special mission group.

Prior to the Invasion of Raignork, the special mission group that Edward was a part of carried out multiple operations against a number of organized crime rings or independent criminal entities within Anterås and occasionally in overseas assignments in other provinces given by the Imperial Security Directorate. The group’s many busts and other successes earned them a number of accolades and recognition from the then Collbrande of Anterås, Lucius Cineris, and were given posts in the Cinereous Citadel Guard Regiment where Edward, a squad leader, was promoted to captain and given the charge to protect the Citadel’s main keep as one of its chief officers, a security coordinator and the man at the front desk where he receives guests and sees them off. He easily became close to House Cineris due to the nature of his job that involved frequent exchanges with the House.

The Invasion of Raignork came and the Noble Houses were required to take part, House Cineris was to provide backline and special tactical support and Edward was automatically assigned to go with the then Cineris Collbrande to form the backbone of his security and surgical strike detail that would take on many dangerous assignments just like other groups of similar caliber. It was here where he would learn a plethora of invaluable lessons in a field that was so vastly different from the one he had been used to for his life up to that point. It was here where he would cement his place as an elite of House Cineris along with others who have survived and others who have died.

Fortunately for Edward, his four other brothers had stayed home on Agartha during the time with a few having already left the military, leaving him as the only Maxwell of his generation that has gone to war which gave him a lot of relief. The loss of comrades was already enough for him, the loss of even one brother would have been damaging to him. Edward got out of the war relatively unscathed as his wounds in operations were never severe enough to kill him, but like some veterans of the invasion, were disillusioned of Empyria due to the atrocities that had transpired at the time. Thankfully House Cineris had never been involved but that was besides the point.

Following the war’s end, Edward took a short leave before promptly resuming his original duties with the new and old faces of the Cinereous Citadel Guard Regiment while keeping in touch with his family. He is currently considering and looking for other duties to take as some things just did not feel the same since he returned home, thinking that a change of pace would be a good start.
Combat Arsenal
Photomancy Proficiency – Edward has been honing his command over photomancy for several years, starting as a means to further assist his squad in law enforcement operations and is now prioritizing more specialized military applications. Applications in both can involve Edward generating an orb that produces a very bright flash of light similar to a flashbang, tracking sources of light, and manipulating light in a way that it can be reflected or refracted to create optical illusions, to disorient, or to render him and a small group invisible temporarily.

Exemplary Soldiery – Edward’s distinguished service has taught him a wide variety of things of the martial kind. His gendarmerie background gives him a good degree of tactical knowledge in fields concerning close quarters combat in an assortment of spaces and legal expertise as a policeman must be familiar with the law and the implications of politics in law enforcement. His experience as part of House Cineris’s security detail and household guard grants him other perspectives into the matters coupled with the front line experience against the Rythens, even learning some of the ways of House Cineris to which he easily adapted due to his gendarmerie experience.

Complementary Equipment – Edward’s equipment loadout is more within the realm of standard issue with some modifications that are tailored to his needs and preferences. An outlier among his equipment is a special enchanted ballistic shield equipped with a specialized incarce-tech lamp attuned to his photomancy affinity that allows him to create blinding flashes of light while also protecting him from his own magic and small arms fire ranging from pistol rounds to assault rifle rounds. Another is an assortment of modular incarce-tech lamps that are also attuned to his affinity that can illuminate large areas to become as clear as day regardless of how poor visibility in the area is.

Daughter of the Infinity
Karvein Ouroboros
★★★★★★
Female / Draconian / 100+
Order of Eden | Dragon's Invictus
Nobility / Hydromancy / 165 cm / 52 kg
Overview
Karvein is an ace operator of the Order of Eden, naturally putting her in a position of high importance in the organization. Additionally, she is the artificial daughter of Siegfried Ouroboros and shares the same blood as her, making her one of the very few Draconians left in the universe. Karvein wields one of the weapons from the Astarte Collection, the sword known as Forged Destiny, inherited from her gene relative, the Symbol of Valor.

According to those who have conversed with her in the past, she is known for being cold and condescending with her words, often unapproachable by normal means.
Background
There are absolutely no public data about Karvein and her origin, including the lab in which she was born from. The majority of the Order's operators knows about her artificial status but that is not common knowledge outside the organization.

If one were to ask an operator that has closely worked with her for the past century, she has participated in hundreds of missions including Operation Downfall (War on Raignork), Saygien Conflict, and other sectorial operations.
Combat Arsenal
Forged Destiny: The vast history of Forged Destiny hints that the origin of the sword dates back thousands of years before the establishment of Empyria. It is among the seventeen legendary swords of Empyria, also known as the Astarte Collection, and is ranked 4th on the list in terms of power. It was formerly wielded by Siegfried before she passed her heirloom down to her daughter, Karvein Ouroboros where she uses its blade to continue its prolonged legacy.

The Forged Destiny is a sword imbued with the blood of the Ouroboros that could slay non-draconic organisms with its high corruptible incarce. The wielder is naturally immune to its poison, whether or not they hold the blood related to the Infinity Dragon. It has additional powers which can be found in the Astarte Collection's information thread.

Exousiarch Phase 4 | Resolution of Midas: Grants the user the ability to change the state of matter from liquid to solid and reverse. Karvein can use her Exousiarch to liquidity or solidify objects that are around her. Granted, she cannot change the state of matter for a living organism that has a natural heat source with the exception of cold corpses.

An ex-prostitute and petty thief off the streets of Zhenra. Once blessed in the arts of sleight of hand, Lusia was spurned to change her ways and take up mercenary work when a brutal accident left her estranged half-sister permanently comatose and her infant niece without a guardian.

Aloof, uptight and studious beyond belief— but despite her chilly exterior, Lusia is genuine in all she does, and prides herself in her ability to provide a job well done. She is uncompromising in her morals and never learned the word “impossible.” Her weapon of preference is a longsword; she fights like a trained classicist with an edge of something darker.

She currently works as a Vanguard of Imperius, and when she’s not on the job and beating targets back into their places with an impassive poker face, she’s visiting her niece in Iliosie, where Lusia’s paycheques go to ensure only the finest education for her girl.
Background
Lusia Feodora Fair is, to a great many, one of the most prestigious swordswomen of her time and none other than a member of the elusive and highly celebrated Vanguards of Imperius. Her reputation precedes her; and yet, to herself, she will never be anything other than a little girl playing the role of saviour and doing her best to become the white knight she never had the mercy of receiving.

Here is a story that nobody wants to tell, but is worth telling anyways:

Go back to the beginning of it all— keep going, further still. Stop when you see the filigreed whorehouse in the deepest slums of downtown Iliosie. A poorly-concealed stain on the province’s reputation for the love of lavish and high culture, but what can one do? Prostitution is the oldest profession; and so exploitation the oldest crime.

Inside the brothel lives a young woman and her daughter. Best earner Cassia Fair spends day after day selling herself in order to protect her daughter, who is still so young but not untainted by this kind of life; the other ladies who work there are kind enough to treat Lusia as her own, and will gently lead her to do the chores and place soft palms over her eyes so she doesn’t have to see when their procurer grips Cassia by the throat with one hand and confiscates her ‘escape fund’ with the other.

Of course, kind intentions can only go so far. Lusia turns thirteen and is finally deemed old enough to work with the other girls. Cassia, now sick and only getting sicker with time, could not postpone this burden for her daughter any longer. Her last act of altruism came when Lusia turned sixteen and Cassia, on her dying breath, passed her secret funds on and urged Lusia to leave and find her father in Zhenra.

So Lusia left. Her mother’s money got her a ticket into Zhenra and temporary housing while she searched for her remaining family, but she of course had ways to get by.

She never found her father— he, a Zhenra-native shady businessman and gambler, had passed on years before her mother after being fatally wounded in a scuffle with a local gang. Instead what Lusia found was her half-sister, who had been struggling to get by since their father’s passing and the birth of her then three-month-old daughter, sired by one of the aforementioned gang’s members.

The two women, both struggling to find their footing upon being thrust into a life all on their own, quickly formed a pair and devoted themselves to raising the child. Lusia was the one to name the girl, upon the reveal that her sister had never had the chance to come up with a name to call her.

“It sounds silly, but I’m worried that if I choose the wrong name, she’ll forced into a corner. What if she only grows up to be what she thinks I wanted her to be?” her sister giggled out in confession, while holding the baby against her breast. The baby’s chest rose and fell in measured lengths, lit up by the table lamp illuminating the bedroom, and the soft noises of her suckling were the only other sound in the mellow night air.

Lusia shook her head fervently. “We’ll never let that happen. You know that. She’s never going to have to be anything but exactly what she wants; I’m not going to let her end up like me.” Us, she doesn’t say, eyeing the scars in the creases of her sister’s forearms. A year was long enough already to have deprived herself for her daughter’s sake; she didn’t need Lusia reminding her how easy it would be to slip up.

Not that it mattered anyways whether Lusia held her tongue or not, because her sister overdosed and became permanently hospitalized before her daughter’s first birthday.

All at once the sole guardian of her niece, Lusia quickly realized that she could not allow herself to follow the same footsteps as her own late mother. In between clients and caring for her niece, she began to teach herself the traditional swordsmanship style from Zhenra as well minor elemental spells, aided by the occasional classes she could afford — the cheap schools she attended were meant for children, really, but she was still young enough that they suited her needs, and anyways, she was a fast learner.

In the end, her need to pay both her sister’s hospital bills and to care for her growing niece led her to participating in the Tournament of Valor, hoping to land a position among those so highly valued by the nation, and it was her raw desire to prove she could win and protect her family that led her to do so.

This was many years ago. Time, while not all-healing, has been as kind as can be asked for. Lusia was fortunate enough to reach a happy ending for her story, even ashamed as she is of its beginning. This she remains grateful for, being not one to take for granted even the smallest of victories, even as she scorns those who ever stood in her way.

To this day she continues to devote her body and soul to the Vanguards of Imperius. And when circumstances allow, she always makes it a priority to visit her niece Verity in Iliosie, where Lusia pays for her to attend only the finest boarding schools teaching arts and culture. May she never know hardship like those who came before her.
Combat Arsenal
Exousiarch | N/A

Aeromancy | Minor :
Lusia, as a trained combatant and Vanguard of Imperius, is capable of permorning basic elemental spells. Aeromancy is the class she excels in, and she has been able to incorporate wind magic into her swordwork to elevate her skills even further.

Weaponry | Master : Extremely talented and knowledgeable in traditional Zhenra swordsmanship; she is also well-versed in the styles from other nations, although she favours the one former when possible. Her combat prowess is one of her greatest strengths as a warrior — it’s her own mind and her unwillingness to stray from her personal course that limit her.

Jiayi Yu
Code Name / Qinglong
Gender / Female
Combat Experience / Excellent
Birthplace / Zhenra
Birthday / September 4th
Race / Exhelian-Demonoid
Height / 178 cm
Personal Details
General Description
One half of the latest generation of the Sishén, Jiayi has had the duality of her own distaste for their way of life and megalomaniacal tendencies and her desire to create her own path through this world, opposed by the familial pressure and her very real blood-ties. All eventually culminating with the stepping down of her father, presenting her with the opportunity to cut her ties, the consequences of which lead her to join the Imperial Security Directorate under shady circumstances.

Personality
While she may not possess the megalomaniacal tendencies of her kin, her upbringing endowed her with a certain sense of “Let me do this myself.” to the point of almost appearing like she finds others incompetent, otherwise she is usually respectful and rather soft-spoken. She goes about her tasks/missions with borderline fanatical dedication, leading her to be rather uncaring about the means, as long as it achieves her goals, leaving her appearing distinctly sociopathic when it comes to her disregard for others in a fight, outside of certain useful exceptions. Ultimately however, contrasting much of her family, she doesn’t seek to inflict suffering without rhyme or reason. Hints of a far more vibrant personality lay beneath the generally soft spoken and cold exterior she has, but as it stands, such a personality has been thoroughly stamped out of her.

By far the most vibrant and “excited” she gets, is when she is in a fight, she begins to for lack of a better term trash-talk her opponent, taunting, and acting in an almost sadistic manner, actively playing with them as she seeks to outplay them and trap them before delivering her final blow, a problematic trait, one of her only outlets for acceptable emotional expression.

Photomancy
Jiayi's personal use of photomancy mainly revolves around creating and hardening light into solid constructs, particularly making itself evident in her use of said hardlight in the construction of weaponry, in effect giving her access to a far more grand arsenal than would be possible to carry on ones own, at the cost of lacking any particular uniqueness one would get from a hand-crafted weapon. She swaps between weapons on her whims, in order to create a variable and highly chaotic attack pattern that is difficult to adapt to. Additionally, she uses hardlight to actively create barriers in the midst of her fights, ultimately encasing them within rooms of solid white light if left unaccounted for. Being that she controls the light, she can freely pass her body through any of her hardlight, or not, if she desires.
Aeromancy
While it is to a much lesser extent than her primary affinity, Jiayi is still rather talented in Aeromancy, something she uses to augment her photomancy in primarily supportive roles, such as increasing the range of a blade in a deceptive and invisible manner, giving her a form of ranged attack via blades of wind, or even simple using it to course-correct herself midair as a crude form of controlled flight. Of course, she's still capable of using it to generate walls of wind, or other such constructs, but she usually shies away from them due to it simply being more effective to do so with her photomancy.
Flower of Chaos
Her Exousiarch manifests as a domain overlaid upon the world around her, all areas affected by the domain losing all of their color, with only their perimeters remaining distinguishable in the form of black lines, much like her hardlight. At the edge of the domain there is nothing distinctly separating it from the outside world, as its geometry is essentially the same as whatever it was overlaid upon. Within the domain, her incarce reserves are for all intents and purposes, bottomless. Additionally empowering her photomancy, especially her hardlight, making anything constructed out of hardlight far more durable and far more damaging, additionally empowering her aeromancy to a greater degree than she'd be capable of outside of the domains borders. Finally, she may enact a sort of "battlefield condition" onto herself, trading one aspect of her strength, say, her durability, in exchange for far greater strength and damage.

These benefits combined render the domain incredibly lethal if used within a sufficiently enclosed area, it is far more difficult to escape a winding series of rooms than it is to simply fly into the air, after all, as it's primary weakness is that it can be simply escaped, nothing is stopping someone from just leaving its bounds except for Jiayi herself and the area she decides to overlay it upon. Additionally, it may only be used once per day, no matter what.
Historical Biography
Year 000
Born alongside her twin-brother to the Sishen, Jiayi and her brother was destined to be a pawn in her family's centuries long crusade against Empyria, nothing but a weapon. Parental affection is an alien concept to her, for her earliest memories have only ever consisted of her being trained to kill, kill, and kill, with ever increasing efficiency.

Year 010
It was when she reached the double digits that she took her first life with her own two hands, something she had done with little hesitation, for this was but another aspect of her training intended to turn her into a weapon capable of delivering the carnage that her parents sought. However, she was left with a distinct thought that never left her after that moment, a simple word.

“Why?”

Year 015
Fifteen is when she and her brother had reached the point of being seasoned killers, nigh perfect weapons for their parents, but there was still more work to be done, the two were pitted to fight, to seek to overcome each other, the two underwent a process never before attempted, an artificial Exousiarch awakening. Her brother took to it with the utmost glee, while Jiayi felt far more apprehension, the choice simply wasn’t hers to make, for an awakened Exousiarch would further amplify her killing prowess.

Year 018
It was by this point that she had begun to truly solidify her plans of rebellion, the senseless murdering, being crafted into a weapon meant to be nothing but a tool to further deliver suffering to Empyria, her Exousiarch being awakened against her will, even her family's megalomaniacal tendencies. It all fermented, resentment began to grow, her Brother was far too gone, her parents had seen to it, she stood no chance to defeat them, and instead, she decided on another path. She would cast aside that accursed name and seek out her own legacy, but preparations had to be made.

Year 019
Her brother's own dedication to the ways of his family further contrasted her growing rejection it, her own twin had truly embraced the rampant cruelty of their sires, driving an even deeper wedge between the two, as his sadism escalated even further and further, it didn’t take a genius to see that he would soon become uncontrollable. However, she also understood that it offered her the opportunity that she was looking for.

Year 021
She began to truly rebel, it was clear that she had begun to fully reject the ways of their family, and while she may be willing to comply with orders, tension was clearly beginning to build, the strangling grasp of those who had puppeteered her for so long was felt, but their own crafting of her into a weapon made her difficult to tighten their grasp over her as they had done before, but it still wasn’t her time to leave.

Year 024
The year that her brother achieved what would be considered a cataclysm, something she couldn’t hope to compete with yet, and something that spurred their sire to recognize that Xianshia had become entirely uncontrollable. Prompting him to step down from the leadership and instate Xianshia as the new leader of the Sishen.

This granted Jiayi the opportunity that she had been waiting for, and thus, in the chaos of the succession, she left. Her destination was an unlikely prospect, but the only one she had any chance of achieving the freedom she so desired; The Imperial Security Directorate. There, she made an oath with its director, in exchange for her sensitive information on the Sishen and her martial prowess aid against them, she would be granted a new name. Additionally being assigned what amounted to a handler, to ensure that she didn’t try anything.

While she may still be under someone's watchful eye, for the first time in her life, her decisions are her own to make, her future something that is hers.

Birthplace / Zhenra

Personal Details
General Description
Isolde is a new agent of the Imperial Security Directorate, a place she believes holds the truest power amongst the organizations she researched. And power she certainly wishes to be close to, for she dreams of one day becoming a Collbrande of Ophelia, a goal so high she must always look forwards to so that she will never look back. But ambition begets ambition, and she has even had thoughts of even loftier heights, though she makes absolutely sure to keep such treasonous thoughts to herself, behind the façade of someone who appears to be quiet, vulnerable, and sometimes even happy.

Personality
Isolde is someone who seems to plays her cards as openly as possible, and yet if one were to pay close attention they would see that none of them are played from her own hand. She uses sensitivity as a dagger, curiosity as a veil, and the empathy of others as a shield, always viewing emotions as a war waged on the logical basis of ideals. Having been harassed for her background despite her upbringing when she was but a child, she chose to sever her ties to her past and desires nothing more to build something out of nothing, and will use whatever the means necessary to get there.

Shadowmancy [Intermediate]
Isolde is a capable practitioner of shadowmancy, and one of the only real combat powers she has aside from the ambient ones provided by her Phantasma Affinity. She can give nearby shadows physical form, and though these constructs are not particularly strong she makes up for it by choosing her fights carefully and using quantity over quality, typically manifesting them as many withered hands to hold down her opponents. But her main strength comes from using the shadows as an extension of the sensory ability of her Phantasma Affinity, being able to almost "see" or at the very least feel what is occurring in spaces that would normally be completely obstructed to her or not even near her at all.
Photomancy [Novice]
It made natural sense to her that she should learn photomancy in conjunction with shadowmancy, as she hypothesized she could use the two schools simultaneously to great effect. However, her studies have currently been focused on other things than magic, so she only got as far as being able to bend light to a certain extent. Useful, at least, in concealing her shadowmancy.
Exousiarch [Phase 1]
Isolde's exousiarch incidentally manifested right after she left the orphanage, while she was on the run. Initially something she was fearful of, and eventually scornful of as it represented her failed house, she nevertheless learned to use the basics of the mark as a necessary edge she needed over people on the streets, and understands it as something she may need to develop one day in order to realize her goals. She can use her Phantasma Affinity enough for it to be useful, though in terms of her senses and awareness she is significantly more adept, able to listen to sounds from much further away or detect movement around her by casting her Phantasma Affinity outwards as a rebound.
Historical Biography
Once, House Caen was a prestigious house, adorned with honors from the Second Great War and bejeweled with riches from the family's business in the opulent sections of Zhenra. Born out of the raging fires of war and forged in soft gold, it was never meant to last, and it was this fragility that caused its own downfall.

687 EC
Isolde does not remember her parents. She was told that they were murdered in their sleep, and as the last of their line with only a baby heir her house fell, and she with it, into the depths of Zhenra's less than savory undercity in the care of an orphanage that did not particularly care of the origins of its children. She was told that it was because her parents made deals they could not keep, or that her parents had been the target of a larger house's indirect wrath, or worse, that her mother was not of noble blood. She was told a great many things. But since she never knew her parents, and certainly never knew their love, it hardly mattered to the quiet, stoic girl in the corner who observed every rule of the orphanage without question and never spoke without being spoken to first. The only break in decorum was when the same quiet girl, at age thirteen, learned of a severely limited, heavily reduced inheritance she'd been left, something the old orphanage mother had kept from her. And just as quietly, she vanished into the night, the inheritance along with her, and most inexplicably the orphanage mother as well.

700 EC
With the Invasion of Raignork still in very recent memory, the streets of Zhenra were lined with more orphans than usual. Orphans of war, orphans of poverty, orphans of rebellion, even orphans of just a night of relieving stress, Isolde was easily able to lose herself in amidst the faceless and nameless to escape authorities that came after her. To add to her elusiveness, her exousiarch awoke, and instead of being the mark of a noble it helped her maintain her anonymity even further. They gave up soon enough, and she was free to explore the city as she never had, along with her past, present, and future. It was at this time she likely experienced the most content and happiness, unencumbered by her own future ambition and without any kind of responsible restriction on her. She slept where she chose, made friends and enemies without any regard for consequences, and flaunted the law on numerous occasions. Soon enough, however, it was the Saygien Conflict of all things that planted in her an interest in Empyria as a whole.

704 EC
For the longest time, Isolde bided her time just getting by on the streets, learning to steal physical goods before realizing there was a far sweeter prize: information. She became obsessed with the collection of intellect, ranging from the specifics of incarce and its applications to what the local doctor had for dinner the previous night. Obviously goods like the latter was much more in demand, and in return she traded more knowledge, gradually working on building the path to the future she envisioned before she even step foot on it. Another note of importance in this period of her life is her experimentation with magic. She learned shadowmancy primarily as a means of stealth, however she realized it was also a very convenient tool for her defense, which she began to rely on heavily.

706 EC
It was only natural that she would eventually set her sights on the Imperial Security Directorate, given her unique affinity for making other people's business her own, but in order to do so she needed to once again discard herself and start over. She begrudgingly used what little was left of her inheritance in order to finish the education necessary to enroll, and finish she did in a suspiciously short amount of time. She did, however, enjoy the arcane aspects of her education, which though it was not a requirement of her to learn was something she held personal interest in.

709 EC
Now, a part of the Imperial Security Directorate, she once again bides her time, doing her best to keep up with the tasks assigned to her while trying to determine how to get her footing firmly lodged in its inner workings.

Personal Details
General Description
A new agent for the I.S.D., this noble woman sees this as just another stepping stone in her life to achieve what she really wants. To prove that she is someone who can achieve great things without relying on her noble status. Not only does she want to manifest her Exousiarch before her sister does, the idea of becoming a Collbrande is also stirring in her mind. However, despite how theatrical and egomaniac she can be, she is realistic. She knows that she isn’t going to achieve any of these dreams without hard work, and hard work is something she can do. This is Hikaru Fukui after all. Any second wasted is one second she is behind her sister.

Personality

Hikaru is a hypocritical woman. She is strongly driven by her own desires and is rarely concerned with the feelings of others, to the point she deliberately teases others just to invoke a reaction for her own satisfaction. However, she heavily dislikes it when she is treated the same way, insinuating that she is too good to be treated like this. She tends to not show what she's feeling and hides it behind her signature, crooked grin, but her words are always laced with annoyance.

Additionally, she is the definition of having all bark but no bite. When confrontations don't seem to be going her way, Hikaru finds ways to back out, commonly making excuses or simply turning around and walking away. This can also be seen in more combative settings where Hikaru decides to handle things in a stealthy manner or simply lets others get their hands dirty while she barks orders around.

Hikaru also shows a high level of narcissism, to the point that it may be suspected that she has a god-complex. In addition to her apathy in regards to how people feel, Hikaru refuses to see the error in her own ways. If someone goes wrong, she is bound to blame someone else or some factor that might have had an effect.

To add on to her god-complex, Hikaru is assertive, purely driven by anger and pettiness when dealing with people she dislikes, constantly demeaning them. It's not surprising to hear her spew threats and wave her knife around in hopes for the other person to leave her be.

Furthermore, she's quite dogmatic when it comes to her views, whether it be on people, concepts or the history of her surroundings. For example, if she isn't a fan of someone, she strongly believes that they aren't a good person and the people she is close to should stay away from them.

However, she does have a slightly immature side when it comes to debating things, commonly saying the opposing view just to get a reaction out of people, even if she doesn't believe it herself. One of her favourite topics to "debate" or simply to rile someone up with is "is water wet".

All in all, Hikaru is a person who wants to be admired by others. Most of her narcissistic actions stem from self-loathing, low self-esteem and the desire to be a better person than she actually is. She wants to appear as someone stronger, so she acts like so, albeit in a theatrical manner.

While she'll never find herself admitting it, she doesn't mean most of the things she says. Hikaru merely wants to counteract the feelings of inferiority that was placed on her through her family. She wants to show others that she is worth something based on her own accomplishments rather than her family's status. Especially when it comes to her twin sister. Hikaru wants to show that she is better than her.

When Hikaru isn't donning this tough girl mask, she tends to be a quiet person, partaking in activities such as reading or playing the piano. The reason she pushes people away is due to not trusting others. Once she lets someone in, she's quite the respectful person, helping them out with their stuff. Moreover, Hikaru would like to constantly be around them as she enjoys their company. However, she's not clingy. If anything, she's like a cat. She is perfectly content in being in the same room as someone while doing her own thing.

While it's not far from the truth, Hikaru only says that she wants wealth and power. However, her main goals are ultimately getting her Exousiarch, and—while a far-fetched goal for a new recruit in the I.S.D—perhaps becoming a Collbrande. She knows the latter is a little unrealistic to obtain at the moment, but she isn't one to back down from a challenge.

Shadowmancy [Intermediate]
Hikaru has spent quite a bit of time honing her Shadowmancy. Her main usage of her Shadowmancy is solidifying shadows around her into constructs she can use in combat. For now, she is able to construct various blades, such as knives and swords, granted she knows how they work. Additionally, she is able to make tendrils and chains out of shadows, essentially allowing her to use it as an extension of her hand. Using it for mundane tasks or attacking from a distance. She can also use these tendrils and chains to maneuver her surroundings.
Gun Training
Since her family is military, Hikaru has had training with how to use pistols and rifles. For the most part, she prefers only using her pistol so her other hand can be free to utilize her Shadowmancy. However, if range permits it, she highly prefers using her rifle.
Exousiarch [Stage 1]
Not out yet.
Historical Biography
688 EC
Hikaru was born three seconds before her twin sister. Since then, they were constantly compared. It was a common occurrence to hear that this twin did something better than the other in the Fukui Household. Growing up, Hikaru had all the typical rich kid activities thrown at her, from music to cooking, to dressing and speaking nicely. Since they were a military family, Hikaru and Hikari also had to train constantly. They had to follow in their father’s footsteps after all. Unfortunately, almost everything Hikaru did, her twin sister was someone who did it better and faster. What took Hikaru two weeks to do well, her twin sister did in half the time.

698 EC
Constantly being compared took a toll on Hikaru, and she began to act out. Both at home, and at school. Once she hit ten, she would usually take her frustrations out on the other children in the most inconspicuous way possible. Her twin sister usually frowned upon this and tried talking to Hikaru, but Hikaru was having none of it. Hell, she was even a naive little kid. Her father partaking in the Invasion of Raignork was something she should have been worried about, but since her father wasn’t around, she saw it as an opportunity to not be constantly compared.

701 EC
Unfortunately, her father returned, wounded by battle. But that wouldn’t stop him from chewing her out on every little thing. Wounded or not, Mister Fukui was a force to be reckoned with. Even in his own family. Hikari, being the supposed golden child of the family, wouldn’t dare to go against him, while Hikaru would find ways to rebel. Around this time, Hikari ended up telling their father almost everything Hikaru was up to. Poor lass really meant well. She was worried that Hikaru was going down a bad path. But Hikaru was the one who dealt with the punishment and her father’s vicious words, and she saw her sister simply backstabbing her in the back. Shame. The trust between the two twins was now broken. To make matters worse, Hikaru’s mother would keep uplifting her, saying that Hikaru was doing just fine. She was hearing two different things and she didn’t know which one to believe in. So, there was Hikaru, believing both of her parents. Believing that she was not only an useless person who will forever live in Hikari’s shadow, but also someone who is capable of much greater. While she will only show off the latter, she believes the former deep down.

706 EC
Around this time, Hikaru not only finished her education, but decided to make her relationship worse with her twin sister. Hikari bought Hikaru a ring as a gift that doubled as a birthday gift, and as a way to congratulate Hikaru. Overworked was underestimating how Hikaru felt. She was flat out exhausted with speeding through her schooling just to be ahead of her sister. So running on fumes, Hikaru took the gift. But no, she didn’t thank Hikari, she simply responded with poison laced words, stating that she was finally glad to have the chance to get away from the Dog of House Fukui. It was childish to lash out, but she wanted to get the final laugh in. She was stubborn. Hikaru knows she was the issue for most of the shenanigans done in the Fukui House, but she would never admit it.

709 EC
Now, Hikaru finds herself in the ranks of the Imperial Security Directorate, living in the dorms, away from her family. While she has no desire to go back to her family anytime soon, the insults she threw at Hikari still are fresh in her mind. While she plays with her ring, there’s always a thought of getting in contact and apologizing. But no, she wants to achieve greater things and show she doesn’t need to rely on her family first.

Malo Salas Vesta
★★★★★
Male / Hybrid [Exhelian-Phenex-Demonoid] / 29 [13-02-680]
Imperial Security Directorate | Junior Agent
Nobility / Pyromancy / 172 cm / 62 kg
Overview
Malo wears his nobility on his sleeve, establishing himself as being above the common folk. This tends to leave a bad first impression on all but the most classical-thinking nobles. He lives under the burden of noblesse oblige, dutybound as a noble to exist for the benefit of the common folk. To his credit and fault, he will always put himself between others and danger, even those he hates, simply because that is his role as a noble. He was once a hero of the Saygien Conflict, but he gets uncomfortable whenever the topic comes up and avoids talking about anything to do with his time in the military. He acts like he doesn't want to get involved with trouble yet somehow always ends up searching it out anyway, then denies ever doing so when called out on it. All these inconsistencies add up to make Malo seem shadier than he really is.
Background
680 EC
Malo Salas Vesta is born to House Vesta in his family's home in Hiraeth, a more rural city-town located in northern Iliosie. He was the only child of his parents, his mother being a (near) pure Phenex, as heirs of the Vesta name tended to be, and his father a Empyrian-Demonoid hybrid, a mutt that would never have been accepted had his fiery suitor not threatened to turn the family's ancestral home to slag should she be told her romantic interests be constrained to other "pompous birds as irritable as myself?", her words. Occia Vesta is certainly a spirited woman, to remain polite.

Malo was raised on an idealized vision of classical nobility, an imaginary time before arrogance was mistaken for pride and noblesse oblige held those at the top to standards equivalent to their position. He knows he is better than the common folk. His duty as a noble requires him to be. The common folk are free to make mistakes and be flawed where he must be perfect.

How many commoners are equal to one noble?
"A... a hundred!"
That's less than the people you saw today. Higher.
"Two hundred?"
Far more than that. One noble is equal to every commoner he is responsible for. Do you know how many people the Vesta family is responsible for?
"N-no."
You will.

696 EC
Out of the blue Malo's mother announced that he would be beginning his military service a few years earlier than had been planned. That he would serve at the age of 18 was always the plan. The plan changed. War was on the horizon, and it would far more beneficial to join before the official declaration came down, and with it the draft pulling all able bodies to the front line. Get in the door before that and opportunities to shine would be far easier to grasp. That Malo was still young didn't matter. He was a noble, and nobles stand before the common folk, never more so than on the front lines of war.

After basic training, which he passed with flying colors despite alienating most of his peers with his highborn attitude, Malo requested transfer into the Imperial Army Aerospace Forces, which was granted. His mother maintains she had no part in granting the request, despite her holding a position within that branch. He was just learning how to pilot a terrestrial fighter ship when the war went red hot. Suddenly there was a tsunami of new cadets and airmen due to the draft, and as his mother had planned, Malo was propelled up the ranks by virtue of simply showing up early. He was senior to the incoming recruits even if by less than a year.

He proved to be a natural-born flyer, maybe it was his Phenex blood playing a small part or maybe not, controlling his plane through ridiculous maneuvers that made the thing look more like a bird flitting through the air than a hunk of fire and metal. In 698 his reputation as a young and upcoming flying ace caught the eye of someone up above in the chain of command, and a series of transfers later Malo found himself moving off-planet, his final jump being from terrestrial to extraterrestrial as a member of a newly formed advanced scouting team under the Imperial Army Stellar Forces branch of the army. It was a small team: three woman, three men, two nobles, four commoners. A team of six. The Cardinal Team. Its members came up with the idea of giving each other bird nicknames: Red Robin, Blue Jay, Yellow Canary, White Albatross, Purple Finch, and Blackbird.

"Whoa, the rich kid's all shiny and white!"
"Too bad, Al already called white. It looks like the only color paint we have left is black. Hope you own something in that color, it's yours now."
***
"He really showed up dressed all in black."
"You really didn't have to you know? It's just what color the bird on your plane it getting painted."
"Man, seeing him in tight leather and all those belts is making me feel something."
"Ew gross! Keep it in your cockpit!"
"What's that? H-R? No, nothing to report here."
"He doesn't really look right without all that poufy frilly white though. I kind of miss it now."
"I know, let's add this!"
"Hey, that was my nice white shirt!"

698 EC
Right as the group was working through its initial formation and teambuilding stage, the War on Raignork came to a sudden and explosive end. It was only after the fact that Malo learned that the ship his father had been on had been one of the many lost towards the end of the fighting before the bomb dropped. He expected his mother to be distraught, but she had heard the news well before him and accepted it without much fuss.

"We throw ourselves into the furnaces of wars far away to keep the flames that warm the homes here from being blown out. We won, the war is ended. That is what we sold his life for. An immeasurable sum."

700 EC
His father's life was too cheap it turned out, as just two years later a new war broke out. By now Cardinal Team was well established. Mostly. Purple Finch was out with child. It was Blue Jay's. Only Canary was surprised by the news. So Cardinal Team it was already down to a squad of five at the start of the Saygien Conflict.

The Cardinal Team's job was to scout out enemy forces in advance of the main attack line. Getting caught in an enemy-controlled region of space with no promise of support or rescue if things went sideways was always a possibility, and worst-case scenario finally played out as the squad found itself caught in a Saygien ambush. They fought and flew and evaded as hard and far and much as they could and then they kept going, but backup wasn't close. Malo watched as first Blue Jay, then Albatross, and then Robin were shot through, their ships entirely destroyed. Canary's ship was still mostly intact, and he fought like hell to protect it until support could arrive. He somehow survived the ordeal. Canary hadn't. Her cockpit had been blown through a long time ago, Malo had simply not noticed or not acknowledged it.

The Cardinal Team was gone. No one would have thought any less of Malo if he left the warfront. His entire squad had been wiped out. Him surviving the ambush - and shortly after the official count of how many Saygien ships his team had managed to take down with them coming out - ensured he would be leaving the front lines with no shame to his name. Malo didn't do that. He requested to continue flying, solo if needed. Wherever he could be useful. Instead of retreating, he threw himself into the fight harder than ever.

"Is this your attempt to rejoin your team? You won't make it. You're too good a flyer. You're unlucky. A survivor."

Malo's suicidal flights of fancy through enemy-controlled space got him noticed by someone higher up the chain of command, once again. He was given a valuable gift and a word of advice. His Exousiarch was unlocked, and he was told to make himself useful.

The Neon Blackbird was a household name towards the end of the Saygien Conflict. A single black fighter ship that flew faster than the rest, a ribbon of neon flame marking where it was so you could tell where it had been, where all the Saygien ships had already been wiped out. Most of the time the Blackbird didn't even fire a shot, it just streaked in between the enemy ships and they erupted into colorful fireballs behind it. He flew and fought and fought and flew and never did manage to die before the war did. He eventually had to return to the ground and face what he'd been trying to avoid by hiding behind death.

"Finch...

... I'm sorry."

709 EC
Malo hasn't touched the sky since he last landed almost a decade ago. He's avoided anything that reminds him of things that hurt to be reminded of. But sometimes he still finds himself clutching his chest upon hearing a familiar birdsong or getting locked in his head staring up at the stars. He hasn't managed to make a single friend since losing the people he only realized in hindsight had been more than just a team to him. Whenever someone might get close he puts on his persona of arrogant nobility and drives them away. If only he could take off the nobility that was drilled into him from birth as easily as that ugly version of it. He's still Malo of House Vesta, a true noble, honor bound to act in service to the common folk. So when he caught wind of something big being planned, he tracked the scent to its source, which was predictably whatever major operation the ISD was scurrying around underfoot in preparation for. Leveraging his name was all it took to get through the door. He wanted to help, and whatever help he could give would be appreciated. Malo isn't quite sure he really wants to help or if it's the weight of those words that still haunt him a decade later.

"... make yourself useful."

Words of simple advice that at the time and to this day feel more like a binding curse.
Combat Arsenal
Pyromancy [Master] : Malo is known for his liberal use of pyromancy. At minimum he'll usually have a small flame floating somewhere at the edge of his vision. He has such precise control over his flames that even during his more explosive displays he's able to keep stray sparks from landing where he doesn't want them. In all his years of service, there wasn't a single reported instance of his flames ever touching an ally.

Exousiarch [Third Phase] : Malo's epithet as the Saltpeter Dragon comes from the form of his Exousiarch. It forms colorful crystals structurally similar to salt but containing far higher amounts of stored energy. The crystals are so unstable that they begin to combust almost immediately upon formation, releasing beautiful pink-green-violet-blue neon flames. These flames can burn at very low, almost cold, temperatures or far hotter than naturally occurring fire, depending on subtle changes in the structure of the responsible crystal. By reducing the crystal's structural integrity they can even be used to more explosive effect. In combination with his pyromancy Malo is able to deftly manipulate these neon flames.

Weaponry [Basic] : Malo is reasonably skilled in noble swordplay, which sacrifices brutality and combat efficiency for elegance and controlled motions. He's been trained in firearm usage, both modern and classic styles, but dislikes even touching them outside of wartime.

Fighter Pilot [Ace] : The Neon Blackbird was a hero of the Saygien Conflict. He acted as a decoy the Saygiens couldn't afford to not react to, else he'd end up picking off their ships left and right. He maneuvered his ship, the Blackbird, in ways it wasn't designed or ever intended to move, even before his unlocked Exousiarch allowed him to directly manipulate the thrust of his ship to pull off the really impressive stunts. He's a bit rusty, especially when it comes to terrestrial flying. Expect some fireworks or crashing the first time he tries taking off.

General Description
Alba has always been told by her family that she was a turning point for House Wolfenstein, a sentiment she has taken to heart. She wants to do her best because she can, if she can be better than she will. A goal to someday become a Collbrande of Ophelia and to make her family proud, she'd climb higher if she could. All while understanding who she herself is and was it means to exist as a living being, even as she has only ever become more machine over the course of her life.

Personality
Alba is at first glance rather quiet and reserved but that's usually because she's either thinking, or listening and or sending signals, messages, or passing along a relay of some kind. Otherwise, when her brain isn't full of static and Faith is offline to off-load her system, Alba is rather present and seems like any normal girl. She can be snarky and even a bit bitchy but in her own 'fun' way. Those who know her more personally usually have only good things to day, though those who don't often talk behind her back about how heavily she's been augmented.

Atomic Blade - Enchantment
One of Alba's most notable weapons, the enchanted retractable blades in her arms and legs dubbed atomic blades due to their atom thin edges; though they dull rather quickly her ability to use them effectively as both offensive and defensive tools in close quarters combat is due to how much force Alba can put behind them. Each of the four blades can also be utilized as a single use projectile. They're most effective when she changed into her feral combat configuration.
Electromagnetic Energy Acceleration - Eletromancy
Alba has eight laser optic lenses on her body: under her clavicles and the tips of her middle and pointer fingers as well as her thumbs. They're capable of firing charged particles from the air as a continuous beam or as a single bolt. Though she only typically uses her pointer fingers with carefully aimed bolts as it both drains power and overheats quickly with repeated used.
Exousiarch Phase 3- Superconductor
Alba has the ability to flip her natural ability to control electric fields to instead magnetic fields, turning her Acceleration beams into powerful railguns by using any available metal in her surroundings. She can also magnetize and demagnetize entire objects up to a certain size and distance, this allows her to freely use the ability without ripping herself apart. Using it generates a lot of heat, both lowering her operational limits and decreasing the power of the ability itself.
Historical Biography
Year 681
When she was born Alba was tested in every conceivable way to check for biomechanical compatibility as every newborn in House Wolfenstein. Considering her extremely high aptitude by 6 months old she'd already undergone 17 surgeries with more being planned.

Year 691
As a child attending Academy Alba had trouble fitting in, and would often come home crying to her mother who would sing her lullabies until the small girl fell asleep. Eventually though she began more intensive combat training and upgrades to her body, and developed a goal to improve herself endlessly until she couldn't any more. Studying hard, training hard, and a few tears here or there but she always wiped them herself and kept going.

Year 701
House Wolfenstein having moved their main estate Elesrith, had given Alba the chance she'd been waiting three years for; The Tournament of Valor. Her first time participating in the five year event, and to the surprise of many she had won and been accepted into the Vanguards of the Imperius. This feat had also put her in the eye of the Cardinal Caliburn Zephyrus who granted her phase three of her exousiarch.

A devoted vanquisher who seeks to permanently destroy the Forbidden Tomb, to once and for all rid of the evil that lurks beneath its graves. On the side, she illustrates herself as an alter ego who goes by the name of "Yaksha", an enigmatic personnel who works as an independent intelligence broker, trading information for either specific materials or equally valuable knowledge.

Personality
Precise, disciplined, and observant. Those are the three primary words one would use when describing Kyouka, who prioritizes her profession first more than anything. Often labeled as shrewd and callous by those who had worked with her in the past, Kyouka's intentions are never to her others, but doesn't hesitate to give pragmatic answers when questioned about her methods. Kyouka is a focused woman, unhindered by the thoughts of friendships or even relationships.

Exousiarch (Cursed Phase 3): Decadent Wings of the Untamed
Enables the user to swap to their other self, rooted deep within the void of their heart. In Kyouka’s case, she swaps places with her deceased twin sister (Kyuma), who is far more malevolent and audacious. There are no time limits on how long Kyuma can remain in control, however, Kyouka can recall her consciousness whenever she desires.

Unsanctified Rule
Kyouka’s Exousiarch was forcefully awakened through the sudden intake of immense apocalyptic energy that caused her incarce circuits to be overridden with foreign potential. Thus, she cannot awaken phase 4 or 5 of her Exousiarch as it is permanently locked to phase 3. This rule is also applied to Kyuma.

Exousiarch (Kyuma): The Bird of Hermes
Kyuma enters an apocalyptic form, growing four energy wings from her back that constantly expels apocalyptic energy. This enables flight and aerodynamic capabilities, granting Kyuma the ability to scour through the skies with nearly no limitations. When she has entered this form, Kyuma can use the overflowing apocalyptic energy to create imaginary objects by manipulating the form of the energy, molding it to become whatever Kyuma requires, as long as no mechanical mechanisms are at play.

Entering “The Bird of Hermes” gives Kyuma unlimited apocalyptic energy. However, in return for an endless storage of what is potentially dark mana, Kyuma’s wings must always release the overflowing energy from her body, otherwise she will be severely damaged internally as her incarce circuits will be fatally damaged, reverting back to the original owner of the body.
Hydromancy (Cursed)
Kyouka can utilize cursed hydromancy due to her apocalyptic incarce circuits. She has near perfect control over hydromancy from centuries of experience. However, because her incarce circuits are corrupt, only her twin sister, Kyuma, can properly utilize this ability without suffering the repercussions of it.
Historical Biography
Year 482
Born in Kiyogata Village located on the island of Shokoku, Kyouka Shimazaki was destined to become a shrine maiden for the Tengoku Temple by the orders of tradition. Obligated to concede to her fate since she could muster out her first words, Kyouka lived her early childhood years in relative silence, practicing traditional dances and singing, later learning that those skills would be used to annually renew the seal placed upon the Forbidden Tomb.

For years, Kyouka did not protest against the fate placed upon her by her parents. In fact, she adored the colorful kimonos and the perfect weather over the island of Tengoku, often seen playing with the other children under the sakura trees, never minding the world outside, perfectly content in forever joyously resting beneath the warmth of the sun. A benevolent soul she was born with. Graced by the Founding Empress, her parents bestowed upon her the chance to become the future chief shrine maiden, serving directly under the kannushi as their retainer and willful servant.

This was when she met Hitomi Mishakuji, who would later form an alias under the name Euthalia Samon.

Year 490
An 8-year-old girl, accompanied by a young girl of the same age, stumbled upon the gate of the Forbidden Tomb with the purpose of lecturing the former about the history of its grand structure. Hitomi spoke of tales that seemed inspired by the legends, as beautiful and suspenseful as a poem. The truth behind the Katsuragi Demon War and its historical legends entered the ears of the inspired Kyouka, who dared herself to take another step past the fences, only to be stopped by her worried friend, grabbing her by her skirt to stop her from advancing.

“No! You shouldn’t!” Her friend would repeatedly warn the naive little girl, “It’s dangerous! Father said a bad omen would curse you if you walked past the gate!”

Her earnest advice fell on deaf ears as the young Kyouka continued without a sign of stopping, unbothered by the horrors that her dear friend had attempted to speak of before Kyouka found herself within the dark halls of the tomb, following the lit torches blazed with green flames. Unfazed by the crumbling interior and the thousands of talismans placed upon one particular tomb, the unsophisticated one pushed with all her might, strengthened by her curiosity…

Only for the gate to automatically reveal the other side, in response to the little girl’s inquisitiveness.

There she met a mature woman, dressed in a black and red kimono that had caught the attention of Kyouka, whose eyes were as bright as a sapphire gem.

The most beautiful woman she had ever seen was standing before the Seven Tombs of the Apocalypse, with each pathway leading to a statue of the monstrosities that once existed, previously described by her friend and family.

Year 495
Hitomi Mishakuji, whose intelligence exceeded that of the average child, knew better than to follow her peer into the Forbidden Tomb that her parents had warned her countless times. With great haste, she warned the people of the village and told of Kyouka’s actions to her parents, who immediately gathered the vanquishers to perform a rescue mission of the young girl, notifying even the Collbrande of Katsuragi who was temporarily overseas.

The Vanquishers gathered by the thousands, armed with demon-slaying weapons coated with holy magic, led by one of the shogunate’s greatest warriors of the time. They went into the tomb with great caution, searching for the missing girl who was reported to have entered the tomb unarmed, silently praying that the worst hadn’t occurred.

However, when they had entered the main corridor of the Forbidden Tomb, they found not even a trace of the girl, prompting them to believe that she had already been devoured by the living consciousness of the Apocalyptic Beasts.

Year 502
Unbeknownst to everyone involved, Kyouka had been lured by the charms of the woman and was led to the deeper parts of the tomb where the woman had been conducting her activities in solitude without the involvement of the outside world. Trusting the woman after her elegant tongue had managed to bewitch the young child, she followed and saw the horrors of the greatest evil, terrified of the prisoners that were begging for mercy.

Former vanquishers, defeated and captured by the lady for the sake of feeding their life essence to her grand project in an effort to bring life to a body that could harbor the Apocalyptic Beasts as their collective vessel. Kyouka was brought in as nothing but livestock and initially followed through with the other prisoners that were unfortunate enough to face the scarlet-eyed woman. However, after several years of torture and solitude, Kyouka was allowed to leave her dark cell after the woman had discovered several unique attributes that the young girl held.

After years of blankly staring at the prison walls, wondering when she would be released from this place, she was told that she was of noble blood and held Phantasma Affinity that had never entered its evolution stage, failing to form an Exousiarch.

This was inherently false, or at least Kyouka had thought, as her parents were both of common blood. The truth was revealed when the scarlet-eyed woman explained with further detail about the specifics of her condition. According to her intelligence outside, the Shimazaki family was a distinct relative to the ancestors of House Yamaken, one of the high noble houses that directly served the Collbrande as its shoguns. Specifically, Kyouka was a descendent of Uzaki Yamaken, a legendary former shogun who was an equal to Zephyrus in terms of sword skill.

Though her blood had filtered throughout the generations of intermingling with the commoners, inherently, Kyouka and her relatives held Phantasma Affinity with nearly no chance of developing an Exousiarch.

But that chance could be voided if Kyouka were to make a decision.

Become a servant of the Apocalypse and serve the vessel of the Ashen Lord until his great resurrection, or live the rest of her life slowly dying within those cells, unable to ever see the light of the day.

The rest is history, as Kyouka chose the former without hesitation.

General Description

Elisabet van der Lucht is a determined heiress to a disgraced house of traitors, and a child of the Sector 9 uprising. A sheltered and inept child taught fiercely by her fanatically loyalist mother, who is only recently coming into her own as the textbook definition of a late bloomer. With her remaining relatives sending their hopes along with her, and her father imprisoned, she now sets out from the distant group of planetary sectors she has called home for so long to prove herself worthy and restore her family's noble name to it's prior glory, as well as atone for the sins of all the ancestors she's lost to the Empyrian chopping block.

Personality

Obedient to authority and determined to a fault in the face of adversity, Elisabet is driven by a fiery fierce desire to make everything alright. Whether it be upholding truth and the law, pushing herself hard to achieve the results expected of her, or simply doing her best to make other people happy, the girl is willing to put her all into most everything she tries, even if her all isn't exactly effective in most cases. Failure is no impairment to the Van der Lucht heiress, however, and if she's shot down on the first, second, or third try, you can be absolutely certain she will come back for the fourth with just the same amount of vigor and naive willingness to achieve the best outcome as every time before.

Combat Training and Loadout

Elisabet has undergone basic hand-to-hand combat training, and is a very good shot with a gun, both things that are enhanced greatly by her Cateract. Though she can fistfight well enough, her true specialty is in the gear she's chosen for herself.

-Magimechanical Exoskeleton: This is the piece that puts it all together. Flying is Elisabet's favorite feeling in the world, and this semi-enchanted mechanical marvel is her ticket to providing air superiority to any squad she's a part of. The exoskeleton doesn't provide that much defense, other than a metal pair of wings that can be used sparingly to block stray shots that come too near.
The main attractions are, of course, the wings, which enable her to fly, and the heavier metal portion of the exoskeleton encasing her legs from the knee down and extending further, which allow her to withstand landing at high speeds from up in the air by reducing the impact on her person.
They also have the added bonus of making her taller.
The rest of the suit serves little function unless modified, but can be outfitted with basic functions like radio communication, and places to attach her weapons when she's not using them.

-Railgun: When the job requires heavy weapons fire, this is Valkyria's weapon of choice. It fires dart-like projectiles smaller than conventional bullets in caliber at high speeds even from higher aerial positions, granting high penetration. It's main use is in sniping from above, where the heavy recoil can be compensated by lowering projectile muzzle velocity and letting gravity do the work. When fired on the ground, the gun must be braced into her Exoskeleton in order to keep the recoil from causing harm to the operative.

-Assault rifle: The most basic weapon, in Valkyria's standard loadout, but no less effective than anything else. She tries her utmost to keep her shots non-lethal, but time will tell how consistently the operations assigned to her will press her towards ending lives with it. It is used in strafing strikes from the air, as well as most other basic weapons usage when not going in closer for the lance or the sidearm.

-Shock lance: Despite the name, this weapon carries no power source of it's own, and is essentially a large metal spear used in diving attacks from above. As with the railgun, It is with Elisabet's unique form of magic that the weapon's true potential shines.

-Stun gun: A sidearm used as a comforting leftover from her days in law enforcement, this is the go to weapon to subdue targets nonlethally, from a range where the lance just isn't as viable.

-Wristblade: A last resort wrist mounted attachment, which is one of the only pieces of equipment that isn't under direct supervision of the I.S.D.
When extended, it's about the length of a butchers knife, and can be used to cut bindings and deal with any foes who catch her otherwise disarmed or engage her in CQC.
Electromancy [Basic]

Elisabet had never been very talented with her magic, making her an oddity especially as a noble. While The finer details of Electromancy continue to elude her, Elisabet shines when it comes to generating the electricity in a crackling current that runs across her body like a second skin, something which all her gear is well equipped for. Channeling her one magical technique as an electrocharged buff and power source for her equipment is how Elisabet has turned her magical weakness into a relative non-issue.

-Magimechanical Exoskeleton: Though the flight rig is powered by incarce, electrifying it makes it shocking to the touch, discouraging CQC. Elisabet can pull this same trick with her bare skin as well, although it's far less durable than her mech, and more of a deterrent defense against being touched when unarmored.

-Railgun: This weapon, in the rare case where the base function doesn't provide enough firepower, can be charged with electromancy in order to crank up the projectile speed. Recoil is a much larger issue, and can cause critical damage to a braced exoskeleton on the ground, or send Valkyria tumbling dizzily in midair for several seconds leaving her wide open, but in whatever rare case this high-risk, powerhouse of an option is required, the functionality is there.

-Shock lance: Charging this with electromancy gives it the extra functionality of a shock baton as well as a spear. Stabbing will, of course, hurt much more this way.

-Stun gun: When charged through electromancy, Valkyria's stun gun can possibly reach more lethal potencies. It's an option she shies away from, but one that looms over her all the same.

-Wristblade: Electromancy turns the last resort self-defense weapon into a makeshift taser-blade. As with the spear, Volts just make things better!
Exousiarch [Phase 2]

Manifesting the cataract during a sortie in Sector 9 law enforcement, Elisabet trained this gift rigourously for four years in order to awaken it's second phase, and take it all the way to I.S.D., an ability that made her application worth looking over, even with her negligible field experience. While Elisabet is less than efficient with precise control of her incarce or with intentional usage of psychokinesis, on the physical side of the phantasm affinity she excels. With her vastly enhanced reflexes, physical agility, and strength, she uses her Magimechanical exoskeleton to great effect, both in impressive offensive and defensive mobility, as well as respectable combat force.
Increased spatial awareness and heightened senses are the bread and butter of her scouting expertise, allowing her to maintain her position high in the sky when supporting her team in whichever way they might need.
Phase two's second nature usage of the Exousiarch's gift allows her subpar psychokinesis to slightly deflect certain attacks on instinct, possibly saving her life. It rarely happens, but when it does, it's to give a slight edge against a certain deathblow, and the inexperienced heiress couldn't recreate it intentionally if she tried. The only time it's happened before was in a freak training accident with a damaged exoskeleton, where a blade snapped off a wing and flew at high speed towards the girl's throat.
Elisabet thanks her stars the second awakening had happened before then...
Historical Biography
Year 000 - 687 EC
Elisabet van der Lucht is born as a shining star of hope to a noble house in Sector 9 falling on troubling times. Talk of revolution and independance for Sector 9 is the environment in which the infant daughter of House Van der Lucht, a minor noble house lesser in their prestige thanks to their distance from Agartha, is raised.

Year 001-009 - 688-696 EC

Elisabet did not grow up a talented child. Her commoner mother, native to Sector 9, is fanatically loyalist, and shelters her from the dangerous ideas touted by the vast majority of the noble house. The girl is instead taught the fundementals of being the Heiress Van der Lucht, as perfect a lady noble as could be, in order to bring hope, but manners, and words, and political knowhow never caught on as quickly as anticipated.
Elisabet demonstrates an appalling ineptitude for magic, something practically unheard of in noble ranks and shows no sign of awakening to an Exousiarch. This sets many members of the house against her, her mother, and her father for tainting the noble blood. Over time, she manages to develop rudimentary electromancy, but it's never enough to bring the necessary hope she had been lauded as a symbol of.

Year 010 - 697 EC

It was only a matter of time before things broke out ugly.
The Saygien Conflict was a bloody rift torn into the empire just as it tore house Van der Lucht in pieces.
The older noble members had much more time in their extended Exhelian lifespans to accrue a resentment towards the seemingly heartless empire that only used them, their people, and their sons for hands on triggers.
Some younger members, maintaining their faith and idealism, argued for remaining loyal, but none would ever choose to fight against their own flesh and blood. Elisabet's father, under severe protest from his wife, was dragged into the conflict as well, providing a meager financial role in preparation for the war effort, while the able veterans of her Grandfather's generation and above took to more radical means with scars and scores to settle.

Elisabet's late blooming proves to be a gift in disguise as she's never considered worth forcing into assisting with the brewing Saygien revolutionary conflict herself.
Her mother can shelter her no longer, however, and her combat training begins.

Year 014 - 701

The end of the rebellion marks the mass execution of the vast majority of the Van der Lucht line. Elisabet's father survives, but is thrown in prison with an indeterminate sentence for his crimes against Empyria.

The girl, her mother, and the precious few other relatives who kept their hands clean of the whole thing remained safe. Left with nothing but the weight of the tragedy, the disgrace, and empty beds where revolutionaries once slept.
Elisabet's training shifts her focus into joining Sector 9 law enforcement, an opportunity made plentiful by the strict sanctions placed on the sector after the attempted rebellion. The girl's noble status proves a great asset in her acceptance, despite the family's tattered reputation.

Year 018 - 705 EC

Gone is the clueless child hiding behind her mother's long dress, Elisabet van der Lucht is an idealistic young woman.
Years of mediocrity have forged the girl into the kind of person who can get knocked down over and over again, but will never stay that way for long. This burgeoning will is something in which her mother, in the time since the rebellion, has made quite sure to instill a powerful loyalty to Empyria, the fates of the traitors in the family serving as grim monuments to what would happen should the girl follow in their footsteps.
The young heiress finds herself coming into her own as the various skills that once eluded her younger self suddenly began to feel natural. A late bloomer they had called her, and were they alive to see it, perhaps the rest of her family could have been proud of her.

It is here, while working in law enforcement for a single year, that Elisabet finally awakens to her phase 1 Exousiarch, acquiring the coveted Cataract and Exousiarch mark. A blessing no one ever would have thought might occur. Her course in life from here on out is set.

Year 022 - 709 EC

Training her newfound gift all the way to it's second phase in the following four years, with the help of her few remaining noble relatives and the minimal experience in her short career, The heiress now applies for an ambitious position as an operative for the I.S.D, hungry to prove for good both her house's renewed loyalty to the empress, and that everyone else is wrong about her traitorous family.
After acceptance as an operative, Elisabet boards a ship on the way to Agartha proper, heart of the empire, excited, yet nervous for what the future holds.

General Description
Throughout his life, Sextus had always been difficult to grasp, especially to himself. Developmentally challenged from birth, he had always needed peculiar care, but it was never offered: now he finds himself dealing with the issues fostered by bad parentage and care-giving, driven by endless spite for his own kin, and fury beyond equal towards that which he perceives caused the downfall of all which he held dear, true or otherwise. He seeks revenge for a crime commited against the nonexistent, using family and faith to carry on. For his sister, whom he once abandoned to her own out of fear for what the family would do to himself, he tore himself apart with guilt. But through this guilt, the furnaces were lit, and with the hammer of faith did he mold his will into a knight's shape. He has since risen dramatically, and forced himself into excellence, when compared with whence he'd come, and thus shows impressive potential. But he is limited by his childish mentality, and his unwillingness to come to terms with evil's absoluteness.

Personality
Sextus is little dissimilar from most other people, a man capable of the full arrangements of emotions, and it's proper displayal. But this was never always the case, and his current normal is the amalgamate whole of years spent in stressful practice. When he had first sought asylum with the Temple, after fleeing the Feuersturm manor, he was a shell of man. A creature of instinct, haunted by visions in the dark and incapable of restraint. Huddled in corners, hiding upon the joists: a feral creature. But through compassion, understanding, and faith was he brought back to the same world as that of humanity, and after years upon years of senseless trials he can now be proud of where he has since come. But, the scar which was left may never leave, and the taint which was placed within him shall never depart. He cannot be proud, not truly. He cannot be happy, truly, either. For all which he will ever be, is but mirages to his mind, for what he had experienced runs too deep. Prompting his dreams, his will to avoid the plight of the world, and seek refuge within the imaginary; to commune with the spirit, or to perceive a whole other world across the horizon. It all results in a grave distinction between what is thought, and what is done.

Pyromancy (Advanced)
One cannot be considered of the Feuersturm lineage without the nature of the flame. Though his flame is little compared to that of the best of his family, his mind to utilize it is of a wholly differing nature. Creativity above power, speed above ferocity: order over chaos. A flame of structure, to be utilized and controlled as it best should: like his family should. A flame which does not abide convention, a malleable flame which refuses to behave as it ordinarily should.
Enhancement (Intermediate)
Unable to cross the divide between people, psychological shackle yet limiting him, Sextus is nonetheless a sufficiently competent enhancer when it comes to his own person. His survival instincts too deeply rooted and powerful for him to overcome yet. However, perhaps because of this, he has proven a surprising swiftness in developing and advancing his skills within this particular field. With a style focusing on efficiency, he pursues optimization. A surprisingly strange thing for him to emulate.
Exousiarch: Exaltation of Falsehoods
Presumably cultivated by his estranged sense of self, his darkest contemplations, and the most primordial of his urges manifest as seperate and individual phantoms from within his self, to act as he does, except differently. As they wish to, overlapping or coordinating. Though unbound to his person, the farther away the more draning. Innumerable in theory, his fortitude being the price for their appearance. Though they share his wants, they are but his own psyche made manifest, to draw blood as they choose to, but never to see the world in a way opposed to his own. As such, they do not act beyond his reason, never to oppose all the world as they wish, lest he, himself, wished to. Just as his own, the potential of this ability appears unbound and without limit, but demands adequate care to be properly developed; fickle, but promising.
Historical Biography
Year 683
The Feuersturms, a House of Great Nobility, estranged from the world by it's reclusivity and it's ambitions here-to unknown to most. Yet veiled beneath rumours and gossip of varying degrees of truth. It is a fearsome beast, with twisted histories rooted in legendary accomplishments. But behind it's closed doors and it's manors' ever-expansive regalities, hide dark thoughts of the gravest magnitudes and ruthless customs of survivalism even now. For the House of the Flame, it should be to no one's surprise, honestly, that it's customs were of spartan nature, but even fewer could have suspected that it goes beyond even that. Treason flows through it's halls, and evil permeates to the point of tainting the very atmosphere entrapped within. Rumours circulate of why Feuersturms seem more succepitble to crime and injustice, but the true surprise is that there even exist a few who do not submit before it. Sextus was born into such conventions, and under such ideals, implanted into him by the family's patriarch, his Grandfather, and all who support his evil. He did not cry, he did not wiggle. Sextus was still by nature, swift of reflex, and capable by instinct, but blank by the mind. A suitable puppet to be imparted upon, more so than any other of his peer-siblings. But he would not realize his opportunities, for he couldn't. He was never taught to. It was clear that he was peculiar, but to his Grandfather it meant nothing but the opportunity to make him into what he wished him to be. But no mortal existence could ever achieve the impossible, and thus Sextus' fall was merely a matter of eventualities. At least for now, he remained protected from the gravest of it all by his father: one who could not bare to see his child tainted by the machinations of evil. But Sextus would never know it.

Year 684
Thunder shook the estate, and ravaged across the vast fields which surrounded the labyrinthine manor complex. Rain flowed like rivers across the window glass, and the soothing warmth of light which illuminated the room was supposed to offer comfort to a distressed mother who had just delivered further life to the household. Sextus was present, but he was invisible. As good as furniture, at the side of his grandfather who overlooked the entire debaucle. A dominating hand spread against his shoulder, his Grandfather's own: a symbol of his aspiration, perhaps. But it aided Sextus' upright balance. But what was most notable was a father who was screaming, his own. Roaring against the world, his every utterance timed with the lightning of the outside, tears flowed in concert with the tempest beyond the walls. Unfairness devastated an otherwise noble character, but Sextus could not acknowledge what was occuring. His eyes, instead, locked upon the lively figure of his own sister, Sertoria. From here-on, the die had been cast without his ever knowing, and his future had already been sealed. Though of arguable genius, he was devoid of self; without thoughts of his own, he had learned to walk and present himself as if through instinctual need to become something yet unknown, guided by a here-to unknown force. At one, he was much more than most who found themselves in his seat, but it was hardly noticable. He was destined, until then, to be the tool of his family. But the moment he had locked his eyes upon his sister, that destiny had all shattered, and his future rearranged. Amongst the wicked grin of a Grandfather consumed by an unattainable ambition, and the grief-stricken sorrow of a father windowed and soon to perish, there was the budding sap of a dream taking shape within the mind of a toddler far too inexperienced with himself to know what he wanted or wished. Too inept of mind to recognize the circumstance. He felt compelled to join hands with his younger, but his grandfather's steely grip prevented it.

Year 688
The week which preceded his fifth birthday, his father had fallen to illness. Thanks to a mind since compromised by unwellness after the passing of his mental anchor, Sextus' mother, the family Patriarch, his Grandfather, had since taken liberty of educating and fostering the seven children of the family's new generation. By introducing them to competition, he sowed discord and encouraged competition as well as scheming; rewarding those who managed to overcome the others. For Sextus' betterment, he was better than the rest of them, and excelled in what did not demand mental complexity to accomplish. Intrigue was not the best fit for him, but he adapted it well to the surprise of their caretaker. Though his true test had not yet revealed itself, Sertoria not of the adequate age to enter the stage of the youths' intrigue. His Grandfather had poisoned them all, now even more grotesquely than ever before thanks to the reclusion of his son, and Sextus' father. And now that even he had perished to grief, no moral excuse could quell his Grandfather's all-consuming ambitions, and evil no longer hid, but was open before all who accompanied it. The children stole from eachother, mugged and beat, lied and schemed; sometimes minor, sometimes major. Blood was spilled, and scars were made, but the next day it had all been cleaned away, and the routine would repeat. Sextus was good at it, though he was strange of the mind, he had an innate ability to excell at what others presented him.

Year 694
Time had passed within routine, and nothing had changed. The only thing that was absolute, was the ever-increasing depravity of their actions, whilst bearing masks of approachability and civility as soon as they left the manor's confines. Sextus had gone through the same customs as any other child of high nobility, regardless of the disgrace his family crest held within the whispered tongue of enclosed spaces. He fit in, but not because of any semblance of social acumen. Rather, it was due to his subconscious want for the normalcy of the world outside his own. Naturally, he would punish those who badmouthed him, whether overt or in subdued fashion, but it was merely a result of his upbringing. It was no deliberate obligation. Instead it was an act as good as a reflex. He did not feel anything as he did it, his morality long-since clouded by the ruthlessness of family customs, and his competition far too fierce when compared with his family opposition to ever complicate his own circumstance. Not that he had the mind to do so, for he was, by this point, a shell. As blank a slate as can be: imparted with no will, moving without desire. Existing solely to uphold another's wants and wishes. An instrument of the most-gravely ambitious man of the Empire. And even that he had failed, for some years passed, with Sertoria's emergence into the world of their intrigue, Sextus had disappointed the Patriarch. He did not abide his wishes of ruthless competition without the barest semblance of kinship. Sextus fell pray to his own subdued wants for warmth, mistaking his sister as the only possible target, her identity painted within the golden rays of hope when looked upon through his own eyes. But she was the same as all of them, regardless of what he may have wanted. In vain attempt to prove hopelessness to the stubborn child, the Patriarch forced them against eachother, but Sextus was more stubborn than even he could have anticipated. For he had never showed it, but he was, in fact, a complete buffoon. With all the mental fortitude it carried.

Though beaten by his sister, it had not hurt. For not only was she young, but she was merely the manifest evil of another. She was like him, a puppet to evil's whims, and thus she was never the subject of his retaliation. But, the event had gravely shaken him, and his position amongst those who he actively competed against. The youths experienced a swift and dramatic hierarchical shift, and he no longer carried the Patriarch's favour, and instead bore his uncompromising disdain. He was singled out, ganged up on at every corner, and openly confronted within as without the manor. The years dragged on, and his own normalcy: the submission of others and the subsequent ascension atop them, had reversed wholly, and now he had found himself hiding from others' violence. Neither servant nor elder cared for his desperate attempts to survive, and the advanced education he had previously received was entirely retracted, and what was provided was absolutely nothing. Within an environment such as that of the Feuersturm manor, the repressed urge for violence existed within every creature which prowled it's halls. He knew the graveness of being seen, approached, or caught as he hid, for he had both delivered and received it plentifully. And so the Rat of the Feuersturm Manor was born, a frightened child crawling across the floor at night, away from eyesight, and desperately scurrying the halls for meals out of the garbage only to survive. He became quite good at it, but even under circumstances such as these, we cared more for his sister than himself. Without knowing why, for what purpose, or the reasons behind his treatment, he would often steal food and place them within her chambers during the dead of night during those times where she was targeted to the vilest of the siblings' evil. The seven siblings had swiftly become six, for in their eyes, he no longer exists. The manor simply had a tenacious rat problem.

Sextus could neither cry nor regret, for the simplest noise could have revealed him to others, as they cleaned the manor during day, and patrolled throughout all the night. But his instincts afforded him the ability to grow himself, on his own. But never out of inherent drive, but more as a result of convenient coincidences. Sextus wanted escape, though he never knew it. He read books, but couldn't during the darkness, and so he awakened to his pyromancy for such a purpose, and stole more books. He prowled the manor to survive, to avoid going mad from the primal fear which consumed his every living moment, and garnered a control and awareness of his own body in order to avoid alerting others. One thing lead to the other, and his natural track-mindedness happened to afford him the opportunities to rise from his circumstances without being aware that he was doing as such. With a silent step, nimbleness and the strength necessary to facilitate his every-day acrobatics, he had primed himself so early for what he would be forced to undergo in merely a few years' time.

One day, Sextus had been a rising prospect to all the world, and the next, he had vanished from all eyes and ears beyond the manor, and the same remained true to those within. From being considered a rat, to being genuinely mistaken for one, he was presumed dead within short notice. Though testament to his inherent skill, Sextus would come to despise everything about it in time.

Year 696
Every year since his vanishing, his body had grown tremendously, and his malnourishment proved unable to hinder his growth. Sextus would later wonder how his body would have appeared, were it not for this fact, but that is of little concern. For one fact was obvious in the present moment of the conundrum which he was posed: he grew, and he grew rapidly. By great leaps and bounds. Months would pass, and previously favoured hiding spots would be far too cramped and burdensome for his ever-greater frame to possibly fit, and his time as the family rat grew ever shorter with the passing of the years. He never had the mind to predict an event such as this, at his youthful age, but it was soon time to leave. He had prepared for the event once it became obvious that it had to be undertaken, but he could not do so without at least offering a last farewell to his sister. At least, that was what he thought. But reality was never as he wished it to be, and his fright had become so engrained within him that he could do little but dream of noble ideas carried by the heroes of novels whilst bearing the desperate faces of a person struggling senselessly against the impossible. He was little but beast, his mind detached from his reality; he saw things in the darkness, and lived in a world wholly his own within the darkness and the silence of intermittent closets.

He grew aware of his compromised circumstances, assuming until the last possible moment that he was safe, until he became acquainted with the footsteps of the passer's by beyond the safety of his hiding places. He needed to escape, he had to. He did not wish to perish beneath the hateful hand of the despot of evil and his cadre of the corrupted. He told himself that he would save his sister too, but it was merely the false platitudes of a hero emulated. What he wanted to do was flee, to leave the manor and live a life like in his fantasies and dreams. He was consumed and afraid, desperate and feral, but at the same time he was on the first steps towards himself. All it would require to spur the developments into motion was the guilt which would soon follow. For he would soon flee, away from the mansion, and away from it's evils.

He would leave Sertoria behind, within the grips of the corrputing and the endlessly malevolent. To fend for herself, or to perish in such pursuit. He could not have known her aptitude for the family, her ability to belong into such horridness. But it had never mattered to him, she was a figment of his own imagining since the beginning. She was real, but never in the light he wished of her. She was innocent even as she had beaten him with her youthful battering, and her consumption of the food he had provided was appreciative, even if it only played out before his eyes within his mind. He could not dissociate, but he could also not escape. Stuck between the interrim, aware of both.

As he fled, he could make sense of neither reality nor imagination. He saw pursuers in every corner, panic-fueled adrenaline consuming his every fibre as he climbed over the windows and down along the walls. As he was drenched by the sometimes-passing rain whilst hiding inside the gardens, he heard steps upon the gravel, and as he edged himself ever closer to the exits over the passing of days, his sensibilities had long since been exchanged and any aspirations he may have had to knock on Sertoria's window had been long discarded as the child feared for his on life more than any nobility he may have pretended himself to believe in.

When at last he crossed the rubicon, and passed through the manor gates during a particularly shabby guard shift, he left. And ran. Further, and further. More and more, and more, he ran. He fell, bruises accumulating as he continued. Every danger possible long since making itself aware to his imagination, and ever fear possible felt, as they would repeat, and play out cyclically. He would crawl when exhausted, and ran whilst exhausted. He ate, slept, and lived exhaustedly. No matter how much time had passed, by the time he eventually found himself within the unassuming confines of the Temple, he was a nothing. He had been nothing, and presumed that he would become nothing. He was wholly empty, without as within.

But the Temple took him in.

Year 701
The future had already been rearranged once, but the present would only truly solidify with his admittance to the Temple. They would foster him with the care which he had never received, and allow him the opportunities to grow which had always been taken away from him previously: he would slowly approach those of the Temple, and became a common topic for many kind-hearted Templars over his stay. Seeing Sextus' growth, from desperate into hope, brought smiles upon the faces of many who passed through the halls. But it had not been an easy journey, Sextus had crawled within as without the temple for quite some time before becoming accustomed to normalcy, and his mind was forever hindered. But he fell upon faith, and through it, he could eventually piece himself back together, so that the good will of others may aid in his own.

And his dreams found themselves realized, a world of kindness, hope, and gallant warriors of the righteous mingled upon the fabric of his own vision, here-to clouded by naught but dark confinement. The onset of freedom become ever-more real, Sextus' understanding of what he had done, given up, and sacrificed became all-the-more tangible. His sister, locked away and left to the devices of evil machinators, whilst he, himself, now felt the warmth of the good and the kindness of the caring. He was fostered now, not with schemes and violence, but through encouragement and proper teachings. But she, she had none of it. The guilt became grave, and his ability to bear it ever-worse. He approached madness once more, but was halted. For within his madness, and clouded view of the world, he had pushed himself to grow, to rise, and to be abel to enact his will upon the world. He had begun to train so ruthlessly that, before he could ever realize, he had become a promising Knight to uphold the Temple's creed, and defend the faith and those who do good will.

Before he knew it, he was a Knight-Templar, and his horizons expanded. He would push himself ceaselessly for growth, all the whilst enjoying the heartfelt company of the good-natured whilst enacting the Great Spirit's will upon those who could not be saved, and saving those who err the proper path. He would grow rapidly in future, and display good aptitude for battle as well as people, but he lacked an aptitude with himself. All his life, he had always abided others, but his own will had never been solid. Now, it became all the more clear, but the tendrilous expanse of doubt which surrounded it was all-encompassing. His dreams became ambitions, but his ambitions became cloudy; they were his own, yet why did they never feel as if they were? Doubt began to creep itself into every minute fibre of his behaviour, doubting even the very smiles which he portrays at the display of humours banter. He had never felt more like himself, yet he had before felt as much as now that he was not who he was supposed to be. He felt that he was false, and doubt became desperation.

He became desperate to prove himself wrong, and so he would squander his own opportunities for his chance to meet his sister. He had become stronger than anyone could have expected, and with this strength, no doubt he could swoop in and bring her peace and the safety of the good-hearted. He would venture to the manor, no matter how endless the journey, and bring down such a machine of evil. But then he was told that, whether rumour or not, that she was none to be found. Panic, depression, guilt, regret, and fury all boiled over, and his prior dedication found themselves drowned within the hyperactive imagination of a pathetic man wishing for little more than to escape. He cried upon the chapel, communion with the Spirit for salvation and redemption. He conversed with it, with Agartha. Whether truly or not, it was none of his concern, for he could only ever dream, imagining what's never real, and seeing what never was.

He worried all within the temple, having become a true comrade within the organizations by his admittance with the Templars, but it was short-lived. For, to his own surprise, she was not dead. Not in his heart, and neither in reality. That was certain. She lived, somewhere he would find her. And he would save her, it had to happen. With such spirits, he carried himself from the floor, from the altar, and gripped steady his own will-made-iron and practiced the sword.

And his determination would never since faulter. He carries the disgraced banner of his family to make sure of it, that before absolute evil, absoluteness of justice must always remain unbuckled and uncompromising. Though he grew mightier, as a warrior, under such dictates- impressing the military arm of the Hand of Agartha in-so-doing- he lost the youthful spark which he had until then carried. And became immalleable, and absolutist. His mind, partially recovered, it suffers gravely from inexperience, producing childish concepts of right and wrong, mixed with the arbitrary conjectures of his own wishes and wants, whilst fostering an anger most foul and vicious that it may consume him provided an opportunity to. But, at the very least, he is good-natured, whether it is apparent all the time is of seperate concern.

Beyond this, his advancement within the Temple's military arm has been steady, and assured. He his rapid rise found it's suspension before the pinnacle, his mentality being what stumped him where he now sits for some time. But nevertheless, with grief as fuel he aims to go beyond, ever onward. Towards the dream, where imagination is made real and all is freed.
