archery charm help

I have a player who is running with righteous devil style MA. he has the charm that reloads his  weapons. however he wants a charm along the lines of the archery charm. he does not want to use up his one charm an action each time he runs out of ammo. I am in the middle of designing said charm. I was wondering if you all could give me feedback on it see how it looks?


permanent charm


requires essence 3 and archery 4-5?ish


costs the resource cost of the ammo in essence to create the ammo. does not count as a charm.


this is just a rough draft, but what do you think?
 
sounds ok would the prereq charms be the archery charm that makes them without charm ussage and/or the sean long archery charm for making ammo although wouldnt that make making arrows not cost anyhting? (i dont remember a cost for arrows them selves) if so i'd say it should be essance 4 because that's when stuff starts to become free or redused
 
There is alredy in the core book a charm that lets you create ammo at will for one scene. You should use that as reference of even sugest that your player take that.
 
I think Arthur's on the right track. If they want it permanent, make it Archery 5, Essence 5 with Inexhaustible Bolts of Solar Flame as a prereq.


If that's too costly, your version, with Phantom Arrow Technique as a prereq, would work too.
 
The Archery one that gives you essence arrows for the scene is only a Essence 4 Charm.  I've made characters from start up with that just to make sure I never have to worry about the ammo problem.

archery 5 essence 5 seems a bit steep as the phantom arrow technique(which I am basically cloning, with a few tweeks) is nowhere neer that hard to get. also the inexhaustable bolts of solar flame, is a pinnacle charm as far as creating ammo goes. making it a prerequisite for a charm that is not nearly as useful seems a bit silly. I may use phantom arrow as a prereq, though I am not sure as yet. I appretiate the thoughts though. it is helping me define the charm a bit more.
 
You could just make Phantom Flamebolt Prana permanent like Phantom Arrow.  Though Id consider bumoing the cost to 3m instead of 2m because firedust is expensive. Or make it a...sub charm thing, cnat remember what thier called...that lets you do it for 4m to not use up a charm use.
 
Personally I probably wouldn’t allow a permanent charm to remove the need for ammunition defiantly not before essence 5.


You can ether take a simple charm that gives you ammo for the scene (already published, I wouldn’t require a separate charm for bows and flame weapons) or create a combo including the reload charm and anything else you want to get past the one charm per action limit.


As for special materials, I would make that a permanent charm that allows your essence arrows (or flame blasts) to count as that material.
