- Welcome to Hadbury, Georgia, population 629. The ideal small American town nestled in the land of peaches. Nothing much happens here, the same quiet people and events every year. The same mom and pop stores that have been open for as long as you can remember. You grew up here, it's all you really know outside of the brief trips to the bigger cities at least 45 minutes away. But you love it here. The parades, the dances, watching Mr. Jenkins chase the stray dog Spot (that everyone loves) out of his diner after of course, giving the little mutt a fresh biscuit and ham. You love the way the air smells in the fall, how in spring and summer you can always find someone selling fresh fruit or maybe a kid with some lemonade. Even if rain isn't your most favorite weather, even it has the small-town charm. You even love the way red clay sticks to your clothes.
Or maybe you just moved here. You'd have to have moved here, we don't get many tourists. We're pretty hard to find after all but the moment you got here...it felt like home. Not many people are wary of outsiders, and your first slice of Miss Dansby's pie was on the house. It's so far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can't help but to feel safe. You learn that the lake is where you go swimming (just watch out for snakes) and that the swamp at the back of the town bordering the old houses isn't as bad as it looks. Maybe you miss the city noise, being so used to it after all...but you can't deny the crickets and cicadas are just as easy to sleep to.
And it seems like something is always going on. Whether it's something thrown by the town, or maybe just some gossip at Tom's. It's a small town, after all, rumors spread quickly. Church and Football are always on Sundays, though local games are typically on Friday nights, and you absolutely can't skip when John and Janice put out their fried chicken sandwich challenge. It seems like the perfect small town, the perfect home and smiling faces...but even a town like this has its secrets.
- Hi, and thanks for reading! I know I'm not that great at making interest checks, but since I haven't found anything too interesting, here we are. This is a small southern town RP. Think Hart of Dixie, or Gilmore Girls. More Hart of Dixie because I didn't watch many episodes of Gilmore Girls lol. Anyway, this is something I realized I wanted to do for a while after I was with a friend yesterday. Will not lie, country music definitely helped. The good kind, not the backwoods, i love my dog, i love my truck kind.
So, this will be GM driven, for the most part anyway, there's going to be a few events I already have planned out ranging from fluff to angst because I can't help myself but, i will be taking a lot of suggestions and ideas from you guys! I want anyone who joins to be able to know their character will get a chance to be in the spotlight I want this to be a long term RP, so those ideas are going to be helpful in keeping the story going. Who knows where exactly the story will take us, and that's the best part. Anything can happen in small towns. Trust me.
If you're interested, please let me know! Ask any questions you want to, and I'll do my best to answer. But only express interest if you're serious about joining. I want dedicated players. I know life is a little crazy right now, but this RP will hopefully be a way to escape for a while.
- 1 - Standard RPN rules
2 - Your characters can be rude, you cannot. Please be respectful to you're fellow players!
3 - All Characters MUST be accepted before you post
4 - For now, go ahead and plan on being limited to 1-2 main characters, but that may change based on interest
5 - There are going to be some darker themes, both GM driven and Player driven. I am willing to let any ideas go, but, please be mindful of other people. Pitch your idea first to make sure what you're planning isn't going to harm someone else.
6 - I expect good literacy and grammar, and decent posts. They don't have to be a book, but no one-liners. Give people something to work with
7 - I don't expect you to post every day, but I do want you to be active. At least one or two posts a week, more if you can. A week or more without activity without telling me something is up, and you'll be kicked. Your characters will be moved to the NPCs
8 - Any character pictures you want to use is fine, though I do prefer drawn art over real FCs. Any art is fine, semi-realistic to anything you might make yourself.
9 - This isn't first come first serve, I'll be picking who I feel best suits the RP.
10 - Please PM me a writing sample after posting a character sheet
11 - If you've read this far, tell me what your favorite kind of dessert is.
