• Alwyne is a head strong individual who only concern is her mother and her own survival. Trying to mold herself into the person of her late uncle, Alwyne has found herself replicating his personality. She is a hard working woman who rather deal with her own problems than ask for help. She despises the rich and the zealots and believes that the only way to live is through ones own work and determination. She not the easiest person to get along with as she can be an ass but she not completely unfriendly either. Focused solely on her own goals and ambitions being friends with others is just something that she doesn't much think about.
  
  Alwyne is strictly result oriented and thus if she does not get the results that she wants then she blames it on her lack of determination which often leaves her battered and bruised from over exertion. Her reasoning for joining the Survey Corps isn't anything noble. She could careless about humanity and it's fate, as long as she and her mother make it out alive she has no qualms about allowing others to die. Her true goal rest in the death of her father and anyone who stands between her and that dream can die for all she cares.
  
  
• Love is stupid. That's what Alwyne kept reminding herself as she watched her mother spend her days waiting for the man who abandoned them to return. She reminded her of an animal left alone in a box, their owner having told them to wait until they came back only to sit there endlessly until death took them or someone else did. Sad and stupid. Alwyne couldn't say it though. She was the reason her mom lived like this in the first place. The reason why she held hope for a fat ass who cared more about his appearance then his family. All because she was born.
  
  Alwyne was born in Wall Maria in Shiganshina, her mother a small time baker who grew her own wheat along with her brother a few years older. As a child she had always known who her father was, there was no secrecy when it came to him. Her mother often told her how the they met. A young girl in her early twenties working with her mother in Wall Rose the wind carrying the sound of horse hooves catching her attention. Outside was a man in fine clothing riding alongside men wearing green cloaks donning a unicorn on a shield. Why he came to Trost, she didn't know but the look of his yellow eyes as they gazed into her own was the beginning of her one-sided love. Mother would watch him as he paraded along the town through horse or on his feet, nearly always surrounded by guards. It was only by chance she was able to catch him when he was alone gazing at the night sky. Finding her courage, she went over and gave him a piece of bread left over from the batch of that fateful day. She tripped on her way there, getting a chuckle out of him. When she heard his voice cupid had shot her with his arrow and she became completely enamored with him. Alwyne heard this tale over and over again, a memory she was sure had been through a couple of other variations before she had ultimately created this version she told now. Alwyne didn't question her mother about if it had been true or not and why would she? If her mother said that's how it happened then that was how it happened. Although as she got older she couldn't help but wonder why she never got to see him, but that was a question for another day.
  
  Having their own personal farm of wheat for their bread, Alwyne spent most of her time with her uncle hacking away at crops in the field. He taught her how to use a scythe and where exactly to cut if she didn't want to waste the grain. Unlike her mother, her uncle was a realist. He was unmarried man who spent most of his time baking bread just as his father did before him. Uncle had been a little rough around the edges, a man of action rather than words, he worked hard everyday in the fields and the kitchen. He wasn't at all handsome, not ugly but a far cry from being a lady's man. He was average height with a large build that made him look a little funny having a larger upper body then his lower. The man would scold her if she were to speak out of line or do something she had no business doing. Seeing as Alwyne was a rowdy child that happened often, and whipping were never far off. Despite this, she preferred this rough old uncle of hers opposed to the kind and caring handsome man her father was supposed to be. He may have his flaws but at least he was here, more than she could say for her dad. It was around the age of ten she learned the truth about the man her mother waited for.
  
  It wasn't something she was meant to hear. Alwyne was sleeping when she heard something fall onto the floor awaking her from her slumber. She walked towards the kitchen only to see her mother and uncle arguing about something. She listened, eyes peering through a small hole in the wooden frame. Uncle was angry knocking over something on the table screaming at her mother. Mother was dressed nicely as if she was going somewhere important. Her uncle hollered at her mother to come to her senses. Some man named Abraham had not want to be with her to which she responded with something like they were meant to be together. He refuted saying that if they were really meant to be together than why was she living in Wall Maria? Why hadn't he taken her into Wall Sheena if he had loved her. The words that came out of her mouth shocked her the most. Uncle screamed to the top of his lungs when he said this. If he had loved you or Alwyne then he wouldn't have abandoned you both when he found out about your pregnancy. Alwyne leaned towards the door, accidentally opening it, her uncle and mother surprised to see the little girl there. She ran off.
  
  When they found her in her wheat field, her uncle told her the actual truth about her father. He wasn't at all like the man mother had romanticized him to be. He was an aristocrat from Wall Sheena who had recently purchased land in the Trost district and came to inspect it. Her mother fell head-over-heels in love with him and Abraham, who saw an easy woman, slept with her during his stay. Soon those nightly escapades would lead to her mother's pregnancy with her. She was excited to have his child, he not so much. As an aristocrat, a bastard would only dirty his good reputation and so he told her to move to Wall Maria for a large sum of money, basically stating that she were to leave or he'd have her removed by force. Hence why now the three of them lived in Wall Maria. After this, Alwyne began hating her father and feeling pity for her mother. It wouldn't be until another three years before she saw him during their visit to Wall Rose, a fat bastard drunk on his money. Alwyne was only able to meet him using the fact that she had been his child, the resemblance to each other being so uncanny that it was hard for them to turn her away. They did though, but he had saw her before they removed her from his estate in Rose.
  
  Their first meeting was abysmal. He was pretentious slob that could careless to see his bastard daughter in front of her. Alwyne told him about her mother and how she was withering away waiting for his return, something that he had no interest in hearing. Abraham had not give a rats ass about the family he ruined, only about the food on his plate. Then he said something that pissed her off. There was no need for him to worry about insects that couldn't live without him. Alwyne nearly tossed the table before she was removed by the guard. It was when she was being pulled away that she swore that she'd make him eat those words. Back in Maria, Alwyne decided she'd become a military police and shove her good for nothing father face in shit. However, due to certain events she decided she'd join the Survey Corps.

• Eleanor is a kind girl, she does her best to be very polite and speak properly however when she gets excited or nervous her accent tends to show through making her sound like a bit of a hick to most. This makes her self conscious and she only gets more nervous, causing her accent to show through even more. Eleanor has very good senses that she'd developed through her childhood in the wilderness, her sense of hearing and smell are sharp as a knife. She is also quite skilled at tracking and hunting, all together she's a survivalist and quite good at it. She'll share these skills with anyone interested if she thinks it'd help their chance of survival. Eleanor is a bit self sacrificing, seeing her life as a means for bettering the lives of others, especially those she cares about. All in all she is a determined but rather nervous girl.
• Eleanor grew up in a small but close knit hunting community in the eastern section of wall Maria, near the district of Chlorba. From a young age she was taught to defend herself, how to survive off the land and the importance of family. Her father, David, was the younger brother of the man who was essentially the head of their small clan, her uncle, Russell, the two of them also had two younger sisters, Marie and Louise. The four of them, along with their spouses and children made up the small clan, living on the heavily forested land that had belonged to their grandfather, hunting within reason, maintaining populations and always respecting the land they lived in. It was a peaceful existence, and Eleanor had never wanted to leave the simple lifestyle. Or at least until a few days after her fifteenth birthday. She'd been cleaning out the attic, attempting to rid their home of unnecessary items per her father's request, but as she cleaned and discarded things she came across a book. At first it seemed like a fairy tale, the cover depicting a beast she'd never seen before, a large sleek cat like animal with a head of hair like a big sun in it's depiction. Her curiosity was immediately spiked and as she sat by the tiny window in the dusty attic and read about a world that seemed too fantastic to ever imagine she felt her heart fill and yearn to experience such wonders. She finished the thick text in just a few hours, unable to put it down and when she emerged from the attic to show her family the wonderful treasure she'd found about a supposed paradise beyond their caged lives she expected to be met with excitement and hope but instead her mother's expression looked pained and he father snatched the novel from her, throwing it on the crackling fire in their hearth. "You're not to speak a word of this to anyone- I thought we destroyed all though blasted books." He muttered, cursing under his breath.
  Eleanor looked to her mother for understanding but she simply averted her gaze, staring at the wooden floorboard of their home.
  Eleanor came to learn in the coming months as she continued to mention the book and it's wonders that it had been part of a collection- a collection of which her grandfather had become obsessed with, reading it day in and day out, talking about it to any who listened. One night however members of what appeared to be the garrison appeared and asked him outside to be question, from which he never returned.
  Despite the apparent danger that surrounded the book Eleanor couldn't get it out of her head and the imagine of the Lion's face burning in the fire haunted her. She decided she needed to see the outside world. She needed to experience something real- these walls that used to bring a sense of safety now only brought the crushing feeling of captivity. And that's why she signed up for the Scouting regiment once she graduated the academy. To pursue a dream of freedom even if it meant risking her life.

• Haagen is a stern, no-nonsense individual. He's not opposed to playfulness and jokes, but it's more that the timing that matters. Making a joke while within the safety of the walls? He won't laugh, but it won't bother him either. Joke around while on a mission or during a training session? That'll annoy him.
  
  He's the strategic type, preferring to stay in one place and come up with a concrete plan than to rush headlong into something and hope it works out. He's also incredibly stubborn, and it can be like talking to a rock when he's got his mind set on something. Haagen is pragmatic, and good at keeping a cool head in a stressful situation.
• Haagen's parents—Dieter and Leisbeth Ohme—were originally born in Wall Maria. Childhood friends, the two decided to enlist with the Scout Regiment with the shared goal of helping to keep the Titans away from the Walls to protect their homes. Though as they trained, grew, and reality set in, Dieter began to have second thoughts about joining the scouts. Leisbeth remained steadfast in her determination to join the Scouts. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't convince her to change her mind. So, when they graduated, Dieter was transferred to Wall Sina to join the Military Police, and Leisbeth went to the Scouts.
  
  He didn't see her for a year, when she suddenly appeared on his doorstep in the middle of the night. She was traumatized from her first mission. After that, Leisbeth quit the Scouts. She married Dieter, and Haagen was born. Their life together seemed perfect to Dieter, until Leisbeth announced her intention to re-enlist over dinner. They argued over it for days, she her mind was made up. When asked why, she said she wasn't happy being idle. Leisbeth left the next morning, and Dieter never saw her again. When Haagen was sixth months old, a Scout knocked on his door and gave him a medal with her name on it, and told him that she'd passed on. Dieter was never able to forgive her for that.
  
  He raised their son in comfort, using his position and status to ensure Haagen had a good, safe life. Dieter didn't hide his mother's identity from him, but still did his best to steer Haagen away from the life she lived. Which is why it baffled him when one day, over dinner, Haagen told him he wanted to start attending the cadet academy. Dieter did everything he could to stop him, even resorting to locking his son in his room, but ultimately, it was exactly as it had been with Leisbeth. Haagen left, and Dieter was alone again.
