So invisibility, anti-grav, undying, and something related to shapeshifting. Odd combination of abilities so far.


Because I just feel like adding more and more information to expand on this RP's setting, here's a list of places Omega has appeared (with a focus on the US right now as that's where the RP will take place), and some of the notable survivors of each incident and their ability:


Shanghai - the first known location Omega appeared two years ago


The Glass Garden - the first known example of a self-destructive power, everything in a three block area was instantly turned to glass, including the power's owner


Ouroboros - A boy who comes back to life infinitely


Yin - A girl who repels water


San Francisco


Little Arthur - A boy who grows infinitely


London


Medusa - A girl who sees others with powers


Ontario


Snow Day - A boy who creates endless snowstorms around him


Seattle


Chronos - A boy keeps a section of the city trapped in a moment of time to this day


Mumbai


Noah - A boy who sits in the center of a massive hurricane


New York (1 year ago)


- this is where the survivors already in Pandora's care at the start of the RP came from


Chicago


Midnight - An unidentified survivor who keeps an area of the city trapped in perpetual darkness

- this incident will mark the start of the RP and will be where most of the player characters come from

They'll be given one by Pandora at some point. That's part of the CS I'll be filling out for your character, but feel free to fill it out on your own with whatever you want. I might just use whatever you've put if it fits well enough.


I'm putting together the RP as a hosted project now. I'll invite everyone who has shown interest to it once I'm done, with the RP starting at some point in the next few days.


Edit: Also, I'm playing around with hidden/password protected forums. If anyone is willing to tell me what their view of things looks like it would be helpful.

Work on the RP has hit a small snag. It turns out that hiding the RP hides it from the creator as well, unlike hiding literally anything else you create. I'm mildly irritated, I was having fun playing with forum settings.

It's basically luck manipulation.

Powers within this setting are passive abilities, always-on, uncontrollable by their owner. If you wish for an ability involving luck as a trait that can be done, but any manipulation power will not work as that implies a degree of control of the ability.

BAsicly, he can make bad/ good luck happen to people. However, the opposite must happen to him.

it could just switch on its own, one day homeboy wins the lottery, the next he gets abducted by aliens... twice, then gets struck by lighting

Yes, thought they may have impaired functionality. One example is a survivor whose arms were turned into metallic wings that are too heavy to move and basically means he just lost both arms.

The Database section of the RP is a good source for inspiration, at least to see what other kinds of abilities are out there.


So I don't just spit out random powers, how about you tell me some parameters to narrow things down.


How dangerous do you want the ability to be to others?


To its owner?


Do you want it to be something that only affects the character?


Only affect others?


Both?


Have a trigger? (such as touch)


Would you want to be more offensive?


Defensive?


Neither?


What kind of ability would appeal to you? (physical, mental, force, energy, etc.)


The better idea I can get the more likely I can find something you might like.

@OverconfidentMagi What about something like healing? Of course she can't control it, it's almost constantly on but she can heal others via touch but in return harms herself. It may or may not fully heal them, she doesn't get to decide how much she can do for them. And healing herself would mean harming someone else instead, kind of like a backfire. If this only made sense to me, feel free to say so xD
