Other Anyone remember AOL RP Chatrooms?

Quick question, I know I am necroing this, but has anyone ever been in the old Roleplaying www.snap.com chatrooms?

Not sure if I am really dating myself here, but did anyone else used to go to the AOL Chatrooms and frequent the Roleplay based rooms that existed (ex: Red Dragon Inn, The Forest, All Creatures Tavern). I used to spend hours in those and got to meet so many good role players. I got bummed when they kind of fizzled out and became absolutely no more.

I know this is an old thread, but I was feeling nostalgic for the old RP days in AOL chat rooms and stumbled across this board in a search. I roleplayed mostly in the Medieval Tavern and Red Dragon Inns, had a character in the Wardens of Loreil, had a wonderful time. I sure wish I had downloaded all our message boards, so many stories lost, so many talented people. I wonder where they all are now.

I use to rp in aol chat rooms I made a lot of friends through those days and I wish I saved some of those rp sessions . I lost touch with some of the people on there and would like to see if I can find them again. I rped in a Crystal Tokyo Sailor Moon based rp those were the fun days for me

I feel the same way about my rp sessions I miss those days and the people who I rped with

Oh gosh, dial-up. Kids these days have it so easy lol I do often wish such rooms existed so I can just pop in here and there and not have to commit to a roleplay all the time.

The days where you could just have fun making things up as you go along and not have to worry about story line or plot or walls of texts

OMG, the tavern.

Why don't we, then? Like, a walk-in fantasy tavern setting with posts that are hardly more than a paragraph or two long?

Sailor, I actually joined this site just to respond to this thread. I was just googling to see where all of the old AOL/Rhydin role players went too.

I'd love to see what could be done regarding getting as many old AOL role players together again and seeing if we could start something up! Count me in!

I never used livejournal to role play I stopped using aol in like 2007 for role playing and found out about gaia online through a rp friend of mine

I was primarily involved in Animorphs (played an OC Visser), Pokemon, and Harry Potter, but I did spend a good amount of time in RhyDin and specifically Dragon Forest. Towards the end I was in Cy’s ShinRa, too, where we all had the ShinRa SNs. I kinda stopped being on AOL after 2004; by then I was getting ready for college and couldn’t be on like I used to, but I’ve remained active through boards like this one!

So sorry for digging this up yet again, butttt.. I was in a chat room on AOL called Real Vampires, No RP (Even used my old screen name to sign up here.. cringe I know..). I was active in it from the late 90's to the early 2000's, and I'm just looking for anyone who might have been in there and remembered it. I met the most influential person in my life there over 20 years ago and he passed away a few years ago so I thought I would reach out online and try to see if anyone was still around anywhere.

Yes! I spent many wonderful years in the All Creatures Tavern, on AOL. it carried on long after to... as it was meant to. my heart will always belong there, and in the Rhydin Waterfalls.
