@simj22

Were you still going to have Lucia drag Fern away? o3o

That's partially why I haven't posted anything yet, that and only three (well, now only two lol) people posted after me. I can speed up on my posts, just from where I last RPed I'm so used to waiting to make sure a majority of the members posted first before making another reply xD

@Thinslayer

It seems alright to me, no complaints or questions on my end.

I feel like I missed something here in the group, but I'll mind my own business~ ^^;

I finally had some free time before I got my grade back, and then the site went offline, it was horrible.

Well that's no fun at all, talk about very bad timing O.o

I haven't had problems with the site except once yesterday. I tried getting on and it just said "error loading site". But a few hours later or so, it started working again when I tried getting back on.

Was from sunday till right now for me. I checked regularly.

Fern's descendant, you're in for a wild ride, I'm afraid. Hope you come prepared!

I didn't bring this up on his form before because I was still working on some details and such, and then I just decided it'd be more fun if his history was discovered through the RP, but then I thought if I shared it with the rest of you guys, we may be able to do some more with it... Like come up with possible ideas, character development, etc.

I'll keep it a bit brief, but Ferdinand grew up in a family that was their own cult, or they worshiped in one. They performed satanic deeds, called upon demons, the works. As a child, they forced Fern to do the same, and he did so with reluctance for the longest time. When he started thinking more independently, he grew increasingly uncomfortable with the rituals until he hated them entirely, and as soon as an opportunity came for him to leave, he took it. While I'm not positive on how old he was when he left, he basically ran away from them, more or less, going against their wishes to worship and praise their "demon lords", as they so often called them. He became a disgrace, and he, in turn, became ashamed of them.

The whole reason why he doesn't like talking about his past is because of his shame toward his parents, and he just wants to leave it all behind and never remember it, like pretend it never even happened. But it's also because he doesn't want to make others uncomfortable or grow suspicious of him because they may think he's still part of a cult and worships demons, or is in league with them in some way.

That's the gist of it, there's some things I'm still working on here and there as well as how Fern's affected by it as a character other then what I mentioned already, but if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions, please, feel free to throw them my way!
-I have a demon lord character who loves to deal with mortals. Care for a connection?

- Does that mean he knows how the rituals work? That could be interesting.

@KatsaNovari

Some players took issue with Gwen being "satisfied that the [players left]," interpreting it as a power play of sorts. It was intended to encourage them to move without actually forcing them to, and in fact the word choice suggested that throwing Gwen a curveball by staying put would have been appropriate.

Worse, she was expected to have backlash from magick use immediately. I was saving it for battle for dramatic effect.

Still though, I should have paid more attention to how the post would be interpreted by the other players, and I skimped on that.

@LeviathanL

I may have an idea with another player or two already but am still open to some suggestions, so if you have an idea/possible subplot that won't interfere with what may already be put into action, I'm all ears! I don't see a problem with future interaction with the demon lord you mentioned, for instance, depending on what you have in mind.

In terms of rituals, yes, very much so. From a time at a young age till he finally left his family, Ferdinand was taught on rituals and how to perform them (and has), and would be able to recognize symbols and meanings. He'd be a little rusty with them now because he's trying to bury all of that in the past, but it'd be like trying to forget to ride a bicycle. You never really forget.

@Thinslayer

Aah, alright, I understand what happened now.

@LeviathanL

Ah yes, he can definitely be one of the demons they worshiped. From what I had in mind, his family didn't just worship one demon but a number of them, though some probably more so than others. Kinda like how the Egyptians worshiped more than one god, or the gods of Greece. Fern can be familiar with Nefarox, that's definitely possible! Whether they had personal dealings with him, however, is the question. Ferdinand has participated in some of the rituals, though since Nefarox requires the sacrifice of a good man, it could be his parents that tried summoning him or, as a sort of "initiation" to get their son to take the next step in demon-worshiping, they made him do the sacrifice, which could also play a very key point that pushed Fern further away from the practice and strike out on his own?

@WaterPandas

That's up to Kuroakuma, so long as they don't have a problem with your characters, I think all should be in order. So far I don't see anything off with them except maybe their ages, only cause demons would have a very different age system since they're basically immortal. "17" and "21" are such human ages and would be like a breath for demons, but perhaps that's the point? It doesn't really matter to me either way, though. ^^

Edit: I keep saying "them" but forgot your characters are the same person, just one is older and the other isn't xD

My bad!

@WaterPandas my only comment would be that a book you can use 100 times a day isn't much of a limitation. I would go with 7 or 13. but it all depends on the strenght of the spells you get, so i could be wrong.

@KatsaNovari I kind of want Nefarox to be one of the big bads of the past (maybe even present?), so if he had some connection with one of the heroes it would be nice cool for me.

Fire Emblem's 'regular' spell tomes have 30-45 uses at best.

'Intermediate' tomes have 25 or so.

Powerful, but ancient spell tomes (one aptly named Dying Blaze) have 5 uses.

Just saying.

Ever.

Of course, you can just buy 'regular' tomes at a few thousand gold pieces from any shop that stocks them. The 5 uses ones are rare as all hell, and so are 'Intermediate' ones. Only enemy mages, hidden shops, and NON-SPECIFIED AREAS IN A FUCKING DESERT carry them.

Then again, Fire Emblem was all about resource management, so hey, maybe not so applicable here.

@WaterPandas regardless, I believe characters are usually accepted as long as kuro sees it and doesn't say no. But expect a lot of nitpicking about the details and at least one philosophical discussion.

Now if you'll excuse me, i believe my specified 15 seconds of in-game time are up. That means zombies.

@LeviathanL

Alright then, awesome! If no one else minds, I think it'd be a great idea, as well as excellent character development, for Fern to have summoned Nefarox in his past. His parents would have forced him, and I think he would have to have been somewhere between 13 or 16 (young enough to still be under his parents' thumb but not too young where it ends up scarring him to a point of being unable to function in normal society), but I'm trying to decide what they'd ask Nefarox to do after he was summoned...

I wanted Fern to have some sort of "scar" from his past that would stick with him forever, not like a scar on the skin but something deeper than that. Coming from a family like that, for instance, would make him prone to night-terrors every so often. So would it be possible if Nefarox "marked his soul", so to speak? Like gave him something either as payment for his summons or what his parents made him ask for?

I hope that makes sense, I can try to clarify if not ^^;

I'm sad to say that this roleplay will be temporarily shut down; certain things have sparked up irl for myself which won't allow me quite as much time on here as I'd hoped. Aside from that, this roleplay was rushed and I feel that I need to make the Lore a bit more prevalent and stable than it currently is before we kick off fully into the roleplay- listing certain types of Demons and Monsters, how Magick works (in much more detail) and such. I apologize for the abrupt stop, and I hope you'll rejoin when the updated roleplay is up.

Honestly, recent events have completely sapped my desire to do anything more than stab things on Bitterblack Isle in Dragon's Dogma (maybe not even that), even my desire to write is almost completely gone. I apologize once more, and I do hope you'll all continue to make ideas (if you'll be joining) for when the roleplay is resubmitted later on.

- Kuro

PS: I'll be working on stuff outside of RPN if I can, so the roleplay isn't completely going to dust.

@Kuroakuma

Oh nooooes D:

That's not good news at all... But I understand. Real life comes first, and I'm sure we've all been there when Writer's Block hits us or the motivation leaves us. I hope we see you and this roleplay real soon, and all is going well for you ;3;
