Hey guys, please sign up for this. It's a great idea and we need more people, especially good rpers such as yourselves.
@Skychild @Amerikia1126
Didn't we already ask two of these people? I don't think Sky was interested, and I don't remember who the other was :/

Thanks for the invitation, but yeah, as Lego already said, I'm not really interested. Sorry pal.

...Thanks for the compliment, though~... *hides*

I'd like to, but I'm kinda done making CS apps. I'm putting all my time and energy into this RP.

Hey, I know OC's aren't allowed, but what if we put our own twist on a canon character, to make the more accessible to the role play?

Of course! Each of us here has put our own twist on canon characters technically.

Hm... dang I can't use Arceus because no deities... oh well. Lemme just think of something else real quick

Agh, I want deities to be a thing here, but I just can't wrap my head around how to make them work. I was thinking something like Smite, but they don't really die in that game.

Hm. Well, Arceus isn't immortal, just really hard to kill. He's not omnipotent or omniscient either, just really powerful. In fact, in the lore I have for him, he specifically gave up his omniscience and omnipotence because it was "too boring". There's one specific way to kill Arceus, and that's to remove all his plates from, say, a ten foot radius from his body. He uses his plates a lot, so they're often showing, but when they're not in use, they're kinda hidden inside his body. But given that you'd have to defeat him in battle, and then find a way to remove his plates, and then get all fifteen or so of them away from him, and then keep them away while he slowly and painfully dies... it's a long process that most just can't be bothered to do.

As far as physical wounds go, one can completely incapacitate him by hurting him as well. In fact, if you manage to fully encase him in cement, you can theoretically kill him that was as well. But he slowly regenerates on his own, so even if you "mortally wounded" him, he'd probably bounce back in a day or so.

What I would be most concerned about from using Arceus is his powers... reality bending, stopping time, healing, creation powers, psychic abilities (telekinesis, telepathy, levitation...) along with elemental powers depending on which plate is active... generally speaking, powers that a god of life and creation would have, minus the omni's.

Keep in mind, a lot of this is also my headcanons and assumptions of what Arceus realistically would have, given his position as the creator of the pokemon world. If we were to go off strictly canon, he would definitely not be this overpowered, but he would also not have a human form that was easier to role play and interact with.

That's where the problem lies. His powers. Deities are meant to be all powerful, with complete mastery over what they were made for. To put them in a setting like this would be unfair to the more....mundane characters (like if someone were Haru from Free!)

I completely see your point. I was in a role play that mixed "mundane" characters with deity characters, and while it was a little intimidating at first, things eventually panned out to work okay in the end. The deity characters weren't always around, so it gave a chance for the "mundane" characters to show their strengths. We also had certain restrictions on the deities, where the plot and setting made it so that the two types of characters were generally on equal footing. For Arceus, this meant taking away his reality warping, time stopping, and most psychic powers, so he was left with only healing and support roles, with not much for fighting. This gave the other characters a chance to take over and even win fights against him. Arceus as a character also tends to overestimate his abilities, and winds up digging his own grave most of the time. It was quite funny: we had a running tally of how many times he'd died in the role play. So in a sense, it's kind of a trust thing between the role player and the GM, but there's also safeguards that are put in place.
