LostWhispers
Frozen in Suburbia
This is an introduction: a message from one person behind a screen to another.
So hi, hello -
And thank you, curious stranger, for allowing me to get the pleasantries out of the way, for what kind of properly trained member of society would I be if I didn't? An original one? Perhaps. This is an introductory post after all; one expects to be greeted. But expectations are risky, and maybe I should have started with goodbye, if only to change things up. But no - that wouldn't be correct either. Bidding thee farewell would have misconstrued my message, and I don't want that. So allow me to begin anew, dear stranger, by offering you both a greeting and a farewell. Surely there will be no confusion then.
Ciao.
Do forgive the strangeness you see here; I'm writing in a stream of consciousness as broken and abrupt as my thoughts. Not my normal style, I assure you, but one I felt needed to be done all the same. I'm a university student, you see, boarding the train for the next stage of her life without knowing what ticket she holds. It's terrifying and exhilarating and somehow I managed to leave a piece of luggage behind. My creative writing, lost. Not now, but in the past - and I've only just realized. Words - beautiful, wonderful, lovely entities - no longer flow from my brain to my fingertips as they once did. So I decided upon an intervention - so I find myself here.
I'm a lover of fantasy with a growing interest in SciFi; a history buff with a flair for all things ancient and non-modern. I court mystery in my works and crave something to keep my mind churning. Cliches are a special kind of lover, and I can do with them just as well as I can without. I love fandoms and original plots in equal measure, and have made more OCs than I can think to count. I have spent years honing my craft, only to allow it rust.
So yes, ciao -
I look forward to forging on anew.
