Multiverse


Noun; An infinite realm of being or potential being of which the universe is regarded as a part or instance.

It is a common concept that there are an infinite number of potential universes where anything and everything can and will happen. This also means that an infinite number of universes have the potential to interact with each other in various ways. Interactions between universes can either be highly beneficial, or immensely destructive.

Story Below

On Quotzul, a planet on the edge of the galaxy, war rages between those who use science and those who use magic. This was has lasted for nearly 2000 years, always stuck at a standstill. Both sides never gaining or losing ground.

The lands are ravaged by mechanical pylons and scorched by magical flame.

Deep within the earth lies a massive system of chambers and hallways, purposed for ways to find a middle ground between the arcane and mechanical. In it's center, a portal opens into the permeable fabric of the multiverse. The beings who created it, wait for someone to be pulled through.

Hoping for someone able to end the unending war on the surface.​

UPDATE #1


Chapter Begin ~ Dawn


Everyone:


In the back of your mind, you feel a slight tugging trying to pull you backwards. You look around to see what is going on, only finding yourself blacking out in an instant. Once you awake again, you are on a rusty metal platform raised up above a clean, white room. All around you, there are humans in white coats and black pants. On either side lies others sitting next to you on the metal platform.


A long pause passes.


A female human walk up to the platform and begins talking to you three.


"Hello, and welcome to our labs. I am Lily Faraday and I will be your guide to our world. But, eh, first off I would like to know if you all are feeling well." She pulls out a small notepad and a pen. "Travel through the fabric of reality can be quite jarring."


You look over the crowd of humans and begin to wonder where you were taken.


What do you do?

 

[Bluesunnyday]

Epatus leaps to his feet, looking around the room.


"I'm sorry, what now?" he asks, fingering his pendant. A ruby droplet glitters tantalizingly, begging Epatus to summon his weapon and cut down the person in front of him.


"Ep, you're flipping out again." The Valkrus speaks in his head, the spiritual equivalent of a hand on his shoulder blossoming from within.


"Explain, mortal."

 

[Maurj]

On initial appearance, there seems to be nothing on the platform itself, but after a few seconds. Gray, thick liquid drips from the front part of the platform forming a relatively wide puddle of gray, After a few more seconds, the puddle begins to raise itself upwards slowly, several solid blobs burst out from the top of the puddle mountain, as they slide down back to the bottom. It tries to raise itself into a bigger mountain/cone. It begins to make blobbing noises as it also corrodes and consumes small parts of the floor bellow him, increasing in his size. For a few seconds, a hand starts to take form out of the puddle, trembling and stretching its fingers as it collapses into the gray cone again.

A man in robes and a looks down to all of the people around him, along with the two strange characters atop the platform with him.


There was a woman talking to him and the other two next to him, they must have been in the same confused situation as he was.


He should probably introduce himself.


But what was his name again...?


"I am...I can't remember just yet. My memory seems to be a little jumbled up but I guess I could be worse Ms. Faraday. My body has no physical pains."





The big man smiles hoping to ease some of the tension in the air. The soldier-like person and the giant cone did not seem to be all too friendly.

 

[Bluesunnyday]

Epatus notices the two individuals that have appeared, and absolutely flips.


"Fucking shit! You people have a Gray Jelly here?!? You are trying to kill me!"





Epatus slides a finger against the blade of his pendant, the familiar sting of skin and nerves splitting beneath the Nyxite ornament on one hand, his axe materializing in the other. He hefts the guillotine-bladed weapon, holding it out to keep everyone away from him.


"Okay, someone talk! Where the fuck am I?!?"





The only sound, at least until someone else speaks up, is the steady sound of the axe's blade dripping blood onto the floor.

 

[Lily Moriya]

Everyone:


A brief moment passes before the human named Lily quickly writes down notes in her notepad. She speaks up. "I will advise you to please unconjure your weapon. We are all friends here, and no-one wants to hurt you." Her voice is kind and sincere.


In the back of the room, the other scientists begin exiting the room quickly, but quietly.


"You three are currently in a laboratory located below the ground. The world you are on, is a rather torn up and broken one. Broken in the way that nations are in constant conflict. This is why we called you lot here." Lily continues. "If you will calm down and stop threatening everyone, we can go to the lunchroom and talk over a nice meal. Sounds good?"

 

[Bluesunnyday]

Epatus frowns. "If you want our health, WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A GRAY JELLY?? You don't just send out a slime that deals radiant damage around a fucking undead unless you want them dead!"





He still unsummons the axe, though, fading with a faint scream and the smell of spilt blood. There's still a small puddle of blood left on the ground, though...

 

[Maurj]

The puddle continues to bubble as a voice echoes from each burst of it, as it begins to assume a more cylindrical form at 5'7ft. It begins to develop limbs and some human features


"W.....WeEEll..." It slurs its words as it begins to develop a mouth "T-thats ceEErtainl.... ly qui...te r-rude" The words start to sound less garbled and more clear "Why w.....ould i harm sOOmeone that i dont know yet?. Please, im a lover... not a fighter" The orifice in the cylinders begins to form a smirk "Allow me to introduce me.... I am..... oh dear what was... who was me? Oh thats right!" He begins to take upon his usual shape as he remains of a solid color of gray for a few seconds "Im G.A.R.Y, it is nice to meet you ms faraday, please present your world to me, the fact that it may seem that i've alternated to a different reality... facinates me" He appears to be sniffing arround him "Sterelized... Dense in components beyond my comprehension... Oooh~ it makes me tingle a little from the thought... Pardon me please"

 

[aquaInferno]

"I think a reasonable discussion would be the best thing to do right now. I want to know how I fit in with these two. We all must be unique in some way if we have all been summoned here."





Looking at the jelly-man, the man in faded green robes smiles. If everyone remained calm it was likely that the undead warrior would calm down too.





"I'd introduce myself G.A.R.Y. but I seem to have forgotten my name. I can remember I am a priest for some very important God... Oh yes! The God of Life! I think I learned some things about life magic from him. I'm sure the rest will come to me in time."





The man forgot that he could perform spells, but at least he remembered now. Maybe he could test out his blessings on that bloody warrior at some point, that could calm him down.





"There is an awful amount of blood soldier. Perhaps I could help you with that as we walk with Ms. Faraday."

 

[Bluesunnyday]

Epatus cringes, and holds a hand up.


"No. No no no no no. No holy magic. None at all, no sir. Stuff burns me like acid."

 

[Lily Moriya]

Everyone:


Lily nods and starts heading towards the exit. "Follow me and we will go to the lunchroom. We have a good selection of food for all kinds of diets for our scientists, however we might not have something suitable for you."


As you three walk down the clean, white hallways, you will be able to look through several windows and see numerous different testing sites. One contains a suit made of metal with a large book attached to its side. Another has two human sized floating diamonds arcing electricity between each other.


You three soon arrive at a large room with rows of tables and chairs. On the other side is a very long booth of food vendors.


Lily Faraday turns back to you. "Hungry?"

 

[Bluesunnyday]

Epatus frowns. "Do you have any raw meat? Preferably as fresh as possible? Failing that, just put some blood in a pint glass."





Suddenly, he speaks again, though the voice is different. "Can I kill the meat myself?"

 

[Maurj]

"Hungry?... hmm.... hungry.... Are we hungry? No... perhaps not as we would think we are?... are we hungry yet?... no we're not hungry... but we'd want to have.. hmm... some cereal? maybe... I enjoy the idea of cereal, its nice to digest after a short travel! plus we think its tasty... well i think its tasty"

 

[aquaInferno]

"Just whatever you have is fine. Maybe some tea if you have any of that too."

 

[Lily Moriya]

Everyone:


Lily looks a little confused about the strange change of voice, but quickly dismisses that. "We have some meat, though I am not sure if the cooks will let someone eat it raw." She nods to you three and walks off to the booths.


You look around and find that there are no other people in here other than you, the vendors, and Lily.


She comes back carrying a plastic tray with a large glass of blood, big bowl of cereal & milk, and a nice cup of herbal tea. Setting the tray down on a table and sitting down, she invites you to sit as well.


"Here you go. Now, if I may ask, what were you doing when you got transported here?"

 

[Bluesunnyday]

Epatus looks at the glass of blood with surprise. "Holy fuck. You actually got it. I... didn't expect that. Uh, thanks."





He quietly takes the glass and begins sipping it, before speaking. "Well, I was in the middle of decapitating a warlord who had been ruling an entire country with an iron fist." Another sip. "Got through the bastard's trachea before I got teleported." Siiiiiiiiip "Probably dead, judging from the intense blood loss he'd been experiencing."

 

[aquaInferno]

The man blows into his herbal tea to cool it down and takes a sip, after which he sighs with relief.


"It feels like eons since I've had tea. Or anything for that matter. I can't remember much, my location had something to do with my God. The Gods did not like the God of Life very much. I think I remember his name. Mezbet. No. Never mind. My name is Mezbet!"


"Anyways he was trapped in a book I believe. But I think I was there too? At least that's what it feels like. So I guess I must have been trapped too."

 

[Maurj]

G.A.R.Y looks at the bowl of cereal, and begins to rub at his chin lightly, he takes the spoon with one hand and dips it into the bowl, he grabs one spoonful of cereal and directs it to his mouth. He suddenly stopped and placed the spoon back in the bowl, as he then dipped his hand into the cereal... He moved his fingers between the milk as he made a "hm" sound as both of other precenses spoke of their past. His hand began expand along the bowl wrapping it with gray goo entirely, when he takes his hand off, there's no cereal... hell there isnt even a bowl. But then he frowns as he takes the bowl out of the lab pocket and puts it in the table, smiling to lily.


"Well i... hmm.. We.... well no, i... Yea i. i was on... a planet to which since had... hehe.. gone too far! The experiment that the lead scientist had created, was somewhat destructive... he wanted to end world hunger but he almost ended the world itself!. He created this ever expanding mass of... matter, that suffocated the world.. and if it wasnt stopped.. it would've filled the universe. I was created on the purpose of destroying it! and i did... but i was deemed too dangerous to stay in the world, since i could consume anything... so i was sent to kill, i accepted my fate and sat atop the highest building i could find, to which before i was killed... i was transported to this world!"

Epatus, Mezbet, and G.A.R.Y:


Lily smiles and pulls out her notepad once more. As the stories are told, she seems quite eager to jot down information she deems fascinating.


The lights flicker as a loud whirring noise comes down from the hallway the group had come down from. Lily flinches and then looks over to where the noise is coming from. "The machine has grabbed another person!" She quickly gets up and runs towards the room.


Do you wish to follow?


Anna:


A tug on the back of your mind, and a bright flash fills your sight. You are not quite sure when you had lost consciousness, but you wake up on a rusted platform raised above a clean, white room. Looking around, there are no other people in the room with you.


All of your belongings are with you, as they should be.


Before you can do anything, a human woman runs into the room and falls face forwards with a loud thunk.


What will you do, Silver Knight?

Epatus follows the woman, if only to provide some protection should the portal's visitor be less than friendly. As he enters the room behind her, he places the pad of his middle finger against his pendant, using his other hand to help the woman up.

 

[Neow46]

Anna moaned in some pain that was pounding into her head as she looked around at the strange room...


"This isn't the Court... Where the god's name-"


A Strange, hairless ape like woman rushes into the room and immediately falls onto her Face, Startling Anna as she stands up, immense silver colored great-sword in her hands as she watched a Rather pale Hairless ape man suddenly run in to help the other one...


"Where Am I? What are you two? This isn't the Arian castle! What sort of Wizardry or witchcraft is going on here?"


Anna demanded, Holding up he great sword in anticipation for a fight, her silver armor reflecting the lights about all shiny and heroic like.


She had not a lick of an idea of what was going on... these two looked like some sort of oddly clothed nobles, but for all she knew, they were some wizards of the court playing tricks on her!

 

[Bluesunnyday]

Epatus frowns. "Okay, miss, we're gonna need you to not do that. Otherwise..."





With a quick slash across his finger, Epatus' axe was back in his hands. "We might have a bit of a problem."





Epatus couldn't help but secretly relish the idea of combating the... Werewolf? Chimera?... in front of him. She seemed to be a mighty warrior.

G.A.R.Y peeks from behind Epatus "Oooh!!! a new specimen!!" he says as he walks over closer to the platform and sniffes the air arround him once again "My, heavy scent of metal... rather dense and seems to be tampered with... what's this? is this silver i smell? Oooh~ picky you.... And look at this! you're full of your own, self grown biotic fibre, strands on you!!..." He smelled a bit more as he got very close to the platform, not realizing fully what the current mental state was for her "Oh... dear, im quite sorry" He backs up a little watching at her, then turning his back to others "Isnt...." He looks to her and tilts his head "she great!!?!??"

 

[Neow46]

Anna watches as the pale man summon an axe out of nowhere, smiling to herself at the possibility of a challenge.


"Am I gonna have to fight you for answers then? Because I'll gladly-"


Suddenly the grey slime hops up near Anna, startling her as she yelps in fright, and jumps back in her Armor, reflexively pointing her sword towards the slime.


"B-back away! Damnable slime beast! Stay the hell away from me!"


She exclaimed with a worried look on her face...


She knew their kind... Always so squishy and touchy.... Doesn't matter how appealing it seemed, she would not let that happen to her a second time! (Spoiler, these are implications of Anna's past experiences with slimes.)


Her mind refocuses however...


Directing her attention to the woman and Epatus as the slime backed off.


"You have still not answered my questions, where in the Gods names am I? What... Are you... Nobles? Peasents? Knights? What kind of sorcerers are you? I do not recognize anything here, and I demand answers!"
